NEW YORK, Sept. 24, 2026 /PRNewswire/ — CertifyOS, the company architecting the future of provider data infrastructure, today announced the launch of its National Shared Credentialing Program, a first-of-its-kind credentialing model that is designed to reduce redundancies and significantly streamline the provider verification and credentialing process. With initial participants including UnitedHealthcare, Cigna Healthcare, and Centene, providers will have a centralized credentialing home that is built to deliver measurable improvements in operations and access to care.
CertifyOS will standardize credentialing events and verification and eliminate duplicative workflows, allowing the Shared Credentialing Program to reduce administrative burden, accelerate time-to-network, and improve member access, while establishing a trusted source of truth for provider data.
Fixing the Root of the Problem
Credentialing and recredentialing processes today are often repetitive, requiring providers and health plans to repeat similar verification steps in a costly and time-consuming process that slows down everyone who depends on it. The U.S. spends more than $2 billion each year verifying provider credentials, and as much as 75 percent of those costs could be avoided with a unified source of truth built on shared infrastructure.
Health plans spend between $200 and $500 per provider per recredentialing cycle, duplicating the same processes across dozens of systems. Meanwhile, providers submit an average of 17 applications every year, roughly $700 in time and effort, just to supply data that already exists elsewhere. The result is a cycle that drains resources and fuels provider burnout.
CertifyOS is solving this by offering providers and payers a centralized, intelligent infrastructure that eliminates redundancies.
