Planned use of Daybreak Blue and Red will integrate OpenAI GPT cyber models into TrustedSec’s offensive and defensive security services, helping practitioners identify meaningful weaknesses, validate exposure and strengthen client defenses.
CLEVELAND, Oct. 8, 2026 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ — TrustedSec, a globally recognized cybersecurity and adversary simulation company advising Fortune 500 companies and governments, announced it has joined the OpenAI Daybreak Defense Network and plans to integrate OpenAI models into its consulting services through Daybreak Blue and Daybreak Red, where approved. The capabilities are intended to support TrustedSec consultants across red teaming, penetration testing, application and cloud security, purple teaming, security research, and defensive security engagements.
We plan to use Daybreak Blue and Red across red teaming and our broader offensive and defensive work to help our teams dig deeper, validate findings, and turn the results into practical improvements for clients.
The goal is not simply to find more potential vulnerabilities, but to help TrustedSec determine which ones matter. A finding becomes useful when a client understands how it affects their environment and what to do about it. That requires context like whether a weakness is reachable, which permissions are needed, what controls are in place, and what business operations could be affected. TrustedSec plans to pair model-assisted analysis with the experience and judgment of its consultants to turn technical findings into meaningful assessments of risk and practical remediation guidance aimed at strengthening clients’ defenses.
Expanding What’s Possible in Red Teaming and Security Assessments
TrustedSec plans to use Daybreak Blue to support defensive analysis and security assessments, and Daybreak Red for approved, authorized research and adversarial testing. Their use will be directed by TrustedSec practitioners, scoped to each client’s security objectives, and used only with client authorization.
For red teaming, TrustedSec plans to use these capabilities to support authorized adversary simulation and analyze how individual weaknesses could be combined into attack paths leading to critical systems. Consultants would then assess those paths against the client’s actual environment, test the effectiveness of existing defenses, and identify where changes to controls, monitoring or response could reduce exposure.
In penetration testing, application security and cloud assessments, planned applications include supporting code review and analyzing configurations, permissions and trust relationships. Rather than treating model-generated findings as conclusions, TrustedSec will validate them against the environment, determine their potential business impact and develop appropriate remediation guidance.
Connecting Offensive Findings to Defensive Improvements
The same capabilities can also help connect what TrustedSec learns through offensive testing with how clients detect and respond to attacks.
In purple teaming, TrustedSec plans to use Daybreak capabilities to help analyze telemetry generated during exercises, identify visibility gaps and develop detection improvements that its consultants and client teams can test and validate together.
On the defensive side, TrustedSec plans to explore model-assisted workflows for threat hunting, investigation and incident response. These could help analysts organize evidence, connect related activity and develop investigative leads. TrustedSec would remain responsible for evaluating those leads against the available evidence and circumstances of the incident.
Connecting these workflows across offensive and defensive services can create a continuous feedback loop. An offensive finding can inform a detection, a defensive investigation can reveal an assessment gap, and remediation can be retested to determine whether it addressed the original issue. TrustedSec plans to use Daybreak capabilities across that lifecycle, helping clients move from identifying weaknesses to strengthening and validating their defenses.
Keeping Practitioner Judgment Central
“Our clients need to know what actually matters in their environment and what they can do about it,” said Justin Elze, Chief Technology Officer at TrustedSec. “We plan to use Daybreak Blue and Red across red teaming and our broader offensive and defensive work to help our teams dig deeper, validate findings, and turn the results into practical improvements for clients.”
TrustedSec will remain responsible for directing engagements, validating findings and developing recommendations. Use will be scoped to each engagement, with authorization, data handling requirements and human review defined as part of delivery. TrustedSec will evaluate individual workflows before expanding their use across its services.
As Daybreak capabilities are incorporated into TrustedSec’s work, the focus will remain on the outcomes clients need: understanding which risks matter, validating findings with evidence, and making practical security improvements that can be tested and verified.
