New Research Report from EMA Highlights Network Infrastructure’s Critical Role in Enterprise Zero Trust Security Strategies

Survey of 270 IT and security professionals reveals key insights on partnerships between network and cybersecurity teams to modernize secure remote access and network segmentation

LAFAYETTE, Colo., Nov. 26, 2024 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ — Enterprise Management Associates (EMA™), a leading IT research and consulting firm, today announced the release of its latest research report, “Zero Trust Networking: How Network Teams Support Cybersecurity.” Authored by Shamus McGillicuddy, vice president of research for network infrastructure and operations at EMA, the report delves into the critical role network infrastructure teams play in advancing zero trust security initiatives.

This research found that the more involvement and the more influence that a network team has, the more successful a zero trust project will be.

Zero trust is a well-known cybersecurity paradigm that reflects the reality that defenses built around network perimeters are no longer viable. This is especially the case for most enterprises that have built hybrid IT environments characterized by public cloud services, internet connectivity, hybrid work, and the consumerization of IT technology.

While cybersecurity groups typically spearhead zero trust security inside an organization, network technology (including network segmentation and secure remote access solutions) are foundational components of a zero trust implementation. EMA believes network infrastructure teams are key enablers of a zero trust strategy. In fact, EMA research found this year that 30% of enterprises cited zero trust security as a major driver of their overall approach to network operations. The network team increasingly sees zero trust security shaping how they build and manage their networks.

“Network infrastructure team have the tools and the expertise to execute a zero trust strategy,” McGillicuddy said. “They understand secure remote access. They understand network segmentation. More importantly, they understand how implementing zero trust can impact network performance, and they know how to protect user experience from changes in architecture. This research found that the more involvement and the more influence that a network team has, the more successful a zero trust project will be.”

This new market research explores how network infrastructure and operations teams partner with cybersecurity teams to plan, implement, and manage a zero trust architecture. It explores that partnership and the tools and technologies that network teams leverage in that partnership, including modern secure remote access solutions, network segmentation technology, and network observability tools.

Some of the key findings from the report include:

Only 35% of zero trust initiatives are completely successful. In 44% of zero trust initiatives, the network infrastructure team is an equal partner to the cybersecurity group in leading the strategy.96% of respondents believe network observability tools are important to zero trust success.94% of organizations modernize their secure remote access technology for zero trust, and zero trust network access and secure access service edge are the most popular technologies for this modernization.

The report, sponsored by Cloudbrink and EfficientIP, is based on independent research conducted by EMA and offers actionable insights for IT leaders looking to strengthen their zero trust initiatives.

A detailed analysis of the research findings is available in the report, “Zero Trust Networking: How Network Teams Support Cybersecurity.”

Shamus will reveal highlights from the report during the free December 4th webinar.

VANTIS VASCULAR CLOSES $10M IN SERIES B-1 PREFERRED FINANCING

Funds will be used to initiate US commercialization of its CrossFAST™ Integrated Microcatheter Advanced Delivery System

SAN JOSE, Calif., Dec. 12, 2024 /PRNewswire/ — Vantis Vascular, Inc., a pioneering medical technology company founded by physicians with a passion to revolutionize vascular interventions, today announced the successful closing of $10 million Series B-1 preferred financing, following a raise of $30 million to date from high-net-worth individuals and National Institute of Health grants.

The CrossFAST Advanced Delivery System is commercially available in the US as part of a limited market release.

“We are proud to have the ongoing support of a strong group of investors who share our vision of transforming how complex interventional procedures are performed,” said Jason Turner, Chief Executive Officer at Vantis Vascular. “This funding is a critical milestone for Vantis and will allow us to continue our ongoing product development efforts, expand our team and initiate US commercialization of the CrossFAST Advanced Delivery System for complex high-risk PCI procedures.”

The CrossFAST System is the first and only dual monorail microcatheter advanced delivery system purpose-built for complex coronary and peripheral interventions. Unlike guide extension catheters, which have limited ability to reach targeted areas in high-risk PCIs and demonstrated risk of vessel trauma and damage to previously placed stents, the CrossFAST Advanced Delivery System incorporates an integrated microcatheter with a seamless transition to lower the risk of these adverse events during catheter delivery. The CrossFAST System is powered by DuoPRO™ Interlocking Technology, a novel mechanism coupling the microcatheter to the outer delivery catheter, allowing the system to be advanced as one unit for enhanced pushability and efficient navigation, a significant limitation of guide extension catheters, especially in complex high-risk procedures.

“With the completion of this financing, we plan to initiate the limited market release of the CrossFAST System in the United States,” commented Gary McCord, Chief Commercial Officer at Vantis Vascular. “We are confident that CrossFAST can safely navigate calcified and tortuous anatomy with ease, empowering physicians to deliver life-saving therapies to patients more effectively than ever before.”

The CrossFAST Integrated Microcatheter Advanced Delivery System is commercially available in the United States as part of a limited market release. Full market release is planned in 2025.

Founded by physicians, Vantis develops performance-driven technologies that aim to provide faster, safer and more effective treatments. With a focus on innovation and patient-centric solutions, Vantis is committed to advancing the field of interventional cardiology and improving patient outcomes worldwide.
