Newforma Announces Newforma Konekt File Server Connector, Bridging On-Premise and Cloud File Management for AECs

The new project information management features combine robust security with rigorous efficiency

MANCHESTER, N.H., Feb. 10, 2025 /PRNewswire/ — Newforma, a global leader in project information management software for the architecture, engineering, and construction (AEC) industry, has announced the launch of its innovative Newforma Konekt File Server Connector.

The Newforma Konekt File Server Connector acts as the golden thread in AEC information management, seamlessly linking on-premise and cloud-based systems into one unified, live view of project data. The key difference lies in its ability to seamlessly integrate with Autodesk Construction Cloud, SharePoint, file servers, and more. This isn’t just about connecting systems—it’s about creating a dynamic, live view of your project data.

This powerful connector ensures all project information is accessible in real-time across all platforms, enabling teams to work collaboratively without the chaos of disconnected systems or the security risks of fragmented workflows. By creating a single source of truth, the File Server Connector gives AEC professionals the confidence that their data is always current, secure, and easy to share.

“AEC professionals often grapple with disconnected systems, cumbersome workflows and security concerns when managing critical project files,” said Carl Veillette, chief product officer at Newforma. “Many teams rely on a mix of on-premise servers, cloud solutions and third-party services like Azure, Panzura or Nasuni. These fragmented systems create inefficiencies, delays and security concerns that can lead to increased costs.”

Newforma Konekt’s File Server Connector directly addresses these challenges. By mirroring on-premise server content into the Newforma Konekt platform, this connector eliminates the need for VPNs and enables users to access, edit and share project files from a centralized, cloud-based location.

Teams can collaborate more effectively, reducing the risk of errors and delays, while project stakeholders can confidently make informed decisions with instant access to up-to-date information.

“Security remains a top priority for AEC firms managing sensitive project data,” Veillette said.” The Newforma Konekt File Server Connector ensures that all files remain securely stored within the local server environment, avoiding the need for external backups or replicas. Even with this emphasis on rigorous security, Newforma’s solutions don’t compromise on robust features.”

Some of these features include:

Comprehensive View of Project Data: Changes made within Newforma Konekt are instantly mirrored on the local server, ensuring seamless collaboration.

Entra ID Authentication: Permissions are tightly controlled and mirrored from the local server, guaranteeing secure, role-based access.

Performance Optimization: Minimal overhead ensures that server performance remains unaffected, even during peak usage periods.

Audit Trails for Compliance and Accountability: Every action within the system is tracked, providing a detailed, immutable audit trail. This ensures that all changes are logged and can be reviewed at any time, promoting transparency and compliance.

The Newforma Konekt File Server Connector is particularly transformative for Newforma Project Center users. Traditionally reliant on on-premise systems, these users can now extend their workflows into the cloud, gaining the best of both worlds: the reliability of local servers and the flexibility of cloud access.

The Newforma Konekt File Server Connector also ensures that all actions and changes made within the system are tracked, providing an immutable audit trail to maintain compliance and transparency. This level of accountability is vital for AEC firms looking to enhance collaboration while safeguarding data integrity.

“The Newforma Konekt File Server Connector is a direct response to what we’ve heard from our customers: the need for secure yet flexible solutions that enable seamless collaboration across teams and locations,” said Veillette. “By bridging on-premise file servers with cloud functionality, we’re not just solving a technical challenge—we’re empowering AECO professionals to work smarter and more efficiently while maintaining complete control over their data.”

AglaiaSense and Leopard Imaging to Demonstrate Privacy-First AI Traffic Sensing at Smart City Expo World Congress in Barcelona

Published

By

FREMONT, Calif. and BARCELONA, Spain, Oct. 21, 2026 /PRNewswire/ — AglaiaSense and Leopard Imaging will exhibit together at Smart City Expo World Congress, November 3–5, 2026, at Fira Barcelona Gran Vía.

The two companies proposed AI-VIVA (Vision Intelligence for València and Arterials) and is selected as a finalist in the fifth urban challenge of Barcelona Innova Lab Mobility (BILM), on the application of artificial intelligence to traffic-light regulation. AI-VIVA combines AglaiaSense’s edge-AI traffic solutions with Leopard Imaging’s patented privacy architecture. At the show, the team will give a live demonstration of AglaiaSense’s signature MS500 and GS500 cameras, with the AglaiaSense AI Box, powered by NVIDIA, which adds local processing to coordinate groups of neighboring intersections.

The cameras analyze images inside the device, using the Sony IMX500 and IMX501 intelligent vision sensors. They count and classify vehicles, buses, cyclists and pedestrians in real time. Raw video is discarded on the device within 400–800 milliseconds, and only anonymous metadata is transmitted. Cities can feed that data into signal-control software to adapt traffic lights to real demand.

MS500: about 2 W average power, 1080p, powered from a standard NEMA or ZHAGA street-light socket.

GS500: about 6.5 W average, dual 4K cameras, with Ethernet, LTE Cat 4 and GPS; powered by PoE, 12–24 V DC or a NEMA adapter.

Both cameras: IP66-rated, −20 °C to +65 °C, mounted on existing poles, so no trenching or new masts are needed.

Bandwidth: more than 95% lower than CCTV-based monitoring.

“Cities want safer, smoother streets without turning every crossing into a surveillance point,” said Leon Luo, CEO of AglaiaSense. “Being named a finalist in Barcelona tells us the approach resonates.”

“Privacy has to be built into the camera, not added later,” said Bill Pu, CEO of Leopard Imaging.

AglaiaSense’s solutions are deployed across North America and Asia, and the company won first place in the Pedestrian Safety Challenge Hackathon, run by the Edge AI Foundation (formerly the tinyML Foundation) and the City of San José. In field tests, the systems achieved detection and counting accuracy above 95%. The City of Lakewood, Colorado, compared the GS500 with traditional IP cameras and LiDAR on real roads and found it more accurate, more energy-efficient, and less costly to deploy. At a high-risk crossing where pedestrians often crossed outside the crosswalk, the system alerted approaching drivers in real time.

Visit us at Pavilion 3, Level 0, Street D, Stand 71. To book a meeting, email sales@aglaiasense.com.

About AglaiaSense
