Sierra College, Bosch Collaborate to Upskill Associates at Silicon Carbide Fab in Roseville

First Certificates Awarded Under Fast-Track Mechatronics Program

ROCKLIN, Calif., Feb. 13, 2025 /PRNewswire/ — Sierra College yesterday awarded certificates of achievement to 10 Bosch associates who recently completed a customized Mechatronics program. The program was designed through collaboration between Sierra and Bosch to help prepare workers with the skills and training that will be needed as Bosch works toward production of the first silicon carbide chips at the Roseville site in 2026.

“Sierra College is passionate about working with area employers like Bosch to deliver customized training solutions that match their business needs,” said Amy Schulz, Sierra College Executive Dean for Workforce and Strategic Initiatives. “Working closely with the Bosch team, we were able to design a condensed Mechatronics certificate program that emphasized the specific, hands-on training that employees will need as the Bosch facility comes online. As Bosch becomes an even larger part of our local economy and community, Sierra is excited to support its success.”

Typically an 18-24 month program, Sierra College and Bosch designed a Mechatronics certificate that could be completed in one year by adding summer session classes and additional lab space for Bosch associates. “Access to skilled workers and education is vital for Bosch’s plans for our silicon carbide fab,” said Sara Lausmann, Line Maintenance Manager at Bosch in Roseville and past graduate of the Mechatronics program. “Sierra College was able to design a program to meet our needs within two months and take full advantage of this time before the plant is in operation by helping our current workers upskill and prepare for a new type of work in a state-of-the-art facility. This collaboration is one of many win-wins we see for Bosch and the community.”

In April 2023, Bosch announced and closed an acquisition of an existing wafer fab in Roseville and has begun the process to transform the site. Since the acquisition, Bosch has retained nearly all of the 250 associates during the transformation process as it prepares for the 2026 launch production of 200-millimeter wafers based on the pioneering silicon carbide Bosch technology. Bosch plans to invest up to $1.9 billion to transform the site, supported by a $25 million California Competes Tax Credit approved by the Governor’s Office of Business and Economic Development (GO-Biz) and up to $225 million in proposed direct funding under the CHIPS and Science Act with the U.S. Department of Commerce.

In addition to training its current workforce, Bosch is also investing locally to help build up semiconductor expertise for the future. The Bosch Community Fund provided a $100,000 grant to the Sierra College Foundation in Rocklin, California for its Career Technical Education Support Fund. The grant has helped to support associated costs with certification fees, microcontroller kits, development material, software, protective gear, tools, entry and travel fees for STEM competitions, project supplies for STEM Clubs and more.

Sierra College’s Mechatronics program – housed within its Business and Technology Division – includes the study of robotics and industrial automation and offers students multiple educational options, including Associate of Arts or Associate of Science Degree, a Certificate of Achievement and a Skills Certificate. Mechatronics students work in many fields, including electronics, mechanical systems, programming, semiconductors, manufacturing and transportation. Jobs include field service technicians, industrial electricians, fabricators, assemblers, PLC programmers and microcontroller programmers. Classes are scheduled to meet the needs of a variety of learners, including night class offerings. To learn more about enrolling in the Mechatronics program, go to www.sierracollege.edu/mechatronics.

Across its more than 120 degrees and certificates, Sierra College regularly works with industry groups and individual employers to understand labor market needs and changes in technology and machinery to deliver a rigorous, relevant educational experience that prepares students for work on day one. Through its 21 Career Continuing Technical Education programs, Sierra College prepares students for employment in specific high-demand sectors such as manufacturing, building industries, IT and computer science, automotive technology, nursing and allied health, public safety and business. Sierra also delivers customized training programs for individual employers to retrain and upskill their workforce.

Polish Creator Łatwogang Named Impact Creator of the Year as Tiltify Unveils the Creator Impact Class of 2026

From livestreams and gaming to road trips and stadium events, inaugural honorees celebrate the creativity and community shaping a new culture of giving

LOS ANGELES, Oct. 28, 2026 /PRNewswire/ — Tiltify, the platform behind more than $500 million in creator-driven charitable fundraising worldwide, today named the Creator Impact Class of 2026, the inaugural class of its annual Creator Impact Honors. Co-founder and CEO Michael Wasserman announced the winners during a livestream on twitch.tv/tiltify.

Polish internet creator Łatwogang received the program’s top honor, Impact Creator of the Year, along with the Grassroots Mobilization Award and the Storytelling for Impact honor. In April 2026, Łatwogang hosted a nine-day charity livestream on YouTube as part of “Diss na raka” (Diss Cancer), an initiative involving Cancer Fighters, rapper Bedoes 2115 and other creators and supporters. Bedoes recorded the song “Ciągle tutaj jestem (diss na raka)” with Maja Mecan, an 11-year-old receiving cancer treatment. Donations, auctions, charity events and partner and creator initiatives brought the campaign’s total to more than $76 million.

The honors also recognize creators whose smaller audiences have come together to make an outsized difference. Atheenabean, a Twitch creator whose community fundraises as the Bean Squad, won the Small-But-Mighty Fundraiser award for raising $27,865 for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital and Project HOPE. Of the 531 donations across her two campaigns, 478 were under $100. Creator couple Taz Zammit and Alessia Allfree received the First Light award for their 2025 annual 24-hour fundraiser, which raised $11,404 for Altru, an all-volunteer charity the pair had volunteered with the year before.

“This class covers just about every way a creator can raise money for a cause, from a nine-day livestream in Poland and a bike ride across Japan to a football match at Wembley and a Minecraft server where donors bought their names onto signs,” said Michael Wasserman, co-founder and CEO of Tiltify. “These honorees give people creative, meaningful ways to help. They make generosity part of their communities’ lives, and that’s what we built the Honors to celebrate. We’re grateful to every creator, moderator and community member whose work made this year’s class.”

Other honorees include the ZEvent team, whose September 2025 marathon in Montpellier brought together nearly 350 French-speaking streamers and raised more than $18 million for healthcare workers, patients and cancer research. The Sidemen’s Charity Match drew a reported 2.26 million peak concurrent viewers and 90,000 live fans in attendance at Wembley Stadium, and raised more than $8.2 million for Bright Side and M7 Education. Ryan Trahan and Haley Pham’s 50 States in 50 Days series raised $11,662,411 for St. Jude, and any single donation of $50,000 or more triggered a spin of the “Wheel of Doom,” which added a new constraint to the trip. Hermitcraft’s Minecraft charity weekend for Gamers Outreach, where donors could buy their names onto signs in the game, received two honors. Yogscast’s Jingle Jam 2025 also received two, including the fan-voted Community Choice Award, and John and Hank Green received both the Livestream Impact Award and the Legacy of Giving honor.

An independent eight-member jury that included creator MatPat selected the winners after reviewing nominations and impact data supplied by Tiltify. Tiltify administered the program and had no vote. Nominations were open to creators on any platform, whether or not they had fundraised through Tiltify.

Six Data Integration Solutions Named Champions in Infotech’s 2026 Emotional Footprint Report

Published

By

Drawing on verified end-user reviews from SoftwareReviews, Infotech’s peer-review platform, the 2026 Data Integration Emotional Footprint Report recognizes six champions for customer experience and vendor relationships. The findings help organizations assess user sentiment alongside technical capabilities when evaluating data integration solutions.

ARLINGTON, Va., Oct. 28, 2026 /CNW/ — Organizations use data integration solutions to connect disparate systems, improve data quality, and make timely, informed decisions. Infotech’s 2026 Data Integration Emotional Footprint Report identifies six champions that stand out for delivering strong user satisfaction, trust, and overall customer experience. The recognition is based on verified feedback collected through the global research and advisory firm’s SoftwareReviews platform.

Modern data integration solutions connect organizational data by bringing together information from applications, databases, and cloud environments. These platforms provide capabilities such as data extraction, transformation, synchronization, quality management, and monitoring of data flows. With centralized oversight and automated workflows, they help IT and data teams maintain consistent, reliable information, support governance requirements, and deliver timely data for analytics and business operations.

Infotech’s Emotional Footprint measures high-level user sentiment by aggregating responses across 25 proactive questions, creating a powerful indicator of overall user feeling toward the vendor and product. The result is the Net Emotional Footprint (NEF), a composite score that reflects the overall emotional tone of user feedback.

The 2026 Data Integration Emotional Footprint Champions are as follows:

AWS Glue, +94 NEF, rated highly for being altruistic.Microsoft SQL Server, +89 NEF, rated highly for its reliability.Zapier, +90 NEF, rated highly for enabling productivity.Boomi, +86 NEF, rated highly for its trustworthiness.Azure Data Factory, +85 NEF, rated highly for friendly negotiations.Flowgear, +91 NEF, rated highly for its transparency.

Analyst Insight:

“Choosing a data integration platform means choosing a vendor your team may depend on for years. When an integration fails, the impact can extend to every process relying on that data,” says Abbas Jaffery, principal advisory director at Infotech. “Vendors can build trust by helping their clients adapt their integrations as business needs change and by being clear about what their products can support. For buyers, hearing from existing users helps them understand what they can expect from that relationship after implementation.”

User assessments of software categories on SoftwareReviews provide an accurate and detailed view of the constantly changing market. Infotech’s reports are informed by data from users and IT professionals who have direct experience with the software throughout the procurement, implementation, and maintenance processes.
