The Aerapy® All-Spectrum UV Monitoring System delivers real-time UV output reporting for HVAC disinfection and coil-cleaning applications.

The patent-pending system automatically reports germicidal UV-C, LED-UV, and Far-UV intensity levels, eliminating the need to manually check individual lamps and ballasts in multiple AHUs or Roof Top Units (RTUs). Automating UV system operation monitoring across multiple fixtures and locations significantly reduces labor costs and helps to document operational or germ-inactivation efficiency.

REAL-TIME ONLINE MONITORING & REPORTING

If a lamp and/or ballast cease functioning, the system promptly alerts the user, ensuring the correct UV output levels are maintained for critical applications such as healthcare, manufacturing, water filtration, and agriculture. The web-based user interface and reporting dashboard easily integrate with most building automation systems (BAS/BMS).

Individual sensors are strategically mounted above, below, or directly facing each UV lamp and wired to a centralized gateway via a six-foot industrial-grade shielded cable. Each sensor features an adjustable aluminum mounting base, enabling precise adjustments between the sensor and the UV lamp.

Each wireless gateway supports up to eight connected sensors and can transmit each sensor’s operational status to the cloud-based monitoring system using secure Wi-Fi, Ethernet, or Bluetooth signals. Multiple Aerapy sensors and wireless gateways can efficiently monitor UV-C fixtures across numerous HVAC applications and locations.

Key features of the All-Spectrum UV Monitoring System include:

1. WEB-BASED MONITORING: Provides continuous, real-time data on UV intensity, ensuring that UV lamps operate within optimal output levels.

2. MULTI-WAVELENGTH MEASUREMENT: Specifically designated sensors can track and report ultraviolet output across the full UV spectrum, including LED-UV (±10nm), vacuum-UV (100-200nm), far-UV (207-222nm), UV-C (200–280nm), UV-B (280-315nm), and UV-A (315-400nm).

3. HVAC APPLICATIONS: Ensures the UV lamps used in HVAC airstream disinfection and coil-cleaning systems are effective in inactivating bacteria and viruses, such as:

Facility Management: Monitoring UV HVAC applications in commercial, retail, and institutional environments. Helps building managers comply with ASHRAE Standard 241, which establishes minimum requirements for reducing the risk of disease transmission through exposure to infectious aerosols in buildings.Healthcare: Monitoring UV disinfection in hospitals and laboratories.Agriculture: Ensuring proper UV exposure in indoor growing and cultivation applications, including mold prevention in controlled environments such as greenhouses and indoor farms.

4. IMPROVED SAFETY AND EFFICIENCY: The system helps identify when UV lamp output is underperforming, which can be paramount for HVAC disinfection applications.

OPERATIONAL ALERTS:

Aerapy’s All-Spectrum UV Monitoring System can report on the following operational conditions:

UV Output – Energy intensity is reported as a percentage of the lamp’s original rated output.Elapsed Lamp Life – The remaining percentage of life is based on the standard 9,000-hour run-time. The run-time counter can be reset when the lamps are replaced.Lamp/Ballast or Power Failure.

TRACK LAMP USAGE HOURS AND INTENSITY

For businesses utilizing UV technology, regularly monitoring and replacing lamps is essential to ensure optimal performance and maintain equipment efficiency, as all UV lamps degrade and can lose their output effectiveness over time.

According to ASHRAE, UV lamps can exceed their rated life of 9,000 hours of continuous use, emitting visible blue light even after their UV output has become ineffective. Thus, UV output performance cannot be verified by observing a blue light; instead, it requires measurement by a handheld radiometer or a continuous monitoring system.

With its precise capabilities, Aerapy’s new system aligns with the objectives of ASHRAE Standard 241, which establishes minimum requirements for reducing the risk of disease transmission through exposure to infectious aerosols in buildings. By ensuring that UV disinfection processes remain effective, Aerapy’s system consistently supports clean air and contributes to the overall health of building environments.

Ideal for monitoring newly commissioned UV fixtures or retrofitting to accommodate existing applications, Aerapy’s All-Spectrum UV Monitoring System represents a significant advancement in UV technology. It provides users across all applications and industries with the capability to precisely monitor and maintain the effectiveness of their UV systems.

PRODUCT SUMMARY

The Aerapy® All-Spectrum UV Monitoring System delivers real-time UV output reporting for HVAC disinfection and coil-cleaning applications. Viettel Group and Vietnam’s Government Cipher Committee Unveil Security Chip Embedding Vietnamese Cryptography in Silicon

Published

on

By

HANOI, Vietnam, Nov. 3, 2026 /PRNewswire/ — Vietnam’s Government Cipher Committee and Viettel Group have unveiled VGC v1.0, a security chip integrating a domestically developed cryptographic algorithm directly into silicon, alongside the country’s first domestically designed secure semiconductor platform.

The project addresses concerns over potential data exposure associated with reliance on imported chips. By embedding cryptographic functions directly into hardware, Vietnam’s Government Cipher Committee and Viettel Group aim to strengthen Vietnam’s control over the design and verification of technologies used to protect sensitive information.

VGC v1.0 contains 300 million transistors in a 10 × 10 mm package and is fabricated using a 28-nanometre CMOS process. In performance tests, it performed encryption and decryption approximately 15 times faster than a software-only solution carrying out the same tasks. The first batch passed technical tests and received certification for socio-economic applications in the first quarter of 2026. Technical safeguards were also applied to protect the design before fabrication, reducing risks of information leakage and reverse engineering.

The Government Cipher Committee’s M2 unit established security requirements, developed the cryptographic algorithm and defined evaluation criteria, while Viettel Semiconductor Center designed and implemented the chip. Based on the open RISC-V instruction set architecture, the underlying platform enables Vietnamese engineers to modify processor designs and reuse established verification processes for future chip generations.

VGC v1.0 has already seen initial deployment in secure USB storage devices for Party, government and defence agencies. Planned applications include supporting Vietnam’s national digital signature certification system, which has more than two million digital certificates in circulation. Other potential uses span financial data protection, connected cameras and sensors, and critical infrastructure systems in electricity, water, oil and gas, and telecommunications. Products intended to protect state secrets would require further testing and certification under applicable standards.

“Researching, designing and developing secure semiconductor chips is a formidable challenge, requiring years of accumulated expertise, technological capabilities and highly skilled talent. Yet we believe that starting later does not mean accepting dependence on others. With the right strategy, focused resources and sustained commitment, we can steadily close the gap and move towards mastering technologies of strategic importance to our country,” said Lieutenant General Tao Duc Thang, Chairman and CEO of Viettel Group.

At the launch, the Vietnam’s Government Cipher Committee and Viettel Group signed an agreement covering plans for volume production, multicore security chips, specialist workforce development and testing on real devices. Viettel is also building a semiconductor fabrication plant in Hoa Lac as part of broader efforts to develop domestic capabilities across chip design, manufacturing and packaging.

Beyond the initial chip, the initiative establishes a foundation for future generations of security hardware, supporting Vietnam’s long-term efforts to reduce technological dependence and strengthen control over critical digital technologies.
