AI STARTUP AVALONX EMERGES FROM STEALTH WITH $10 MILLION IN FUNDING FROM RIDOWN CAPITAL

After 18 months in stealth, AvalonX brings continuous, enterprise-grade penetration testing to small and midsize businesses, pairing proprietary security AI trained on nine years of real-world offensive-security data with human expertise to expose potential breach paths before cybercriminals strike.

ALPHARETTA, Ga., Oct. 30, 2026 /PRNewswire/ — AvalonX, an AI security start-up, today emerged from 18 months in stealth with the launch of its continuous, AI-powered penetration testing platform. Powered by security AI trained on nine years of real-world offensive-security data, the platform is designed to give small and midsize businesses the kind of offensive security testing long used by large enterprises without requiring an enterprise security team or budget.

Smaller organizations face many of the same attack vectors as large ones, but they typically have smaller teams, less money, and fewer opportunities to test whether their defenses will hold. Many such organizations rely on periodic penetration tests, leaving long stretches between assessments while systems, software, and threats continue to evolve.

That gap between the pace of attacks and the pace of pen testing can leave these businesses exposed. Verizon’s 2025 Data Breach Investigations Report found ransomware in 88% of breaches involving small and midsize companies, compared with 39% at larger organizations. AvalonX was built to help close that gap by making continuous penetration testing practical for smaller businesses through a monthly subscription that combines autonomous attack simulation with human expertise.

“Large enterprises test constantly. They have red teams, consultants, and budgets to match. A 50-person accounting firm or a regional manufacturer faces the same threats as their enterprise counterparts with none of the concomitant resources to protect themselves. Most such organizations test once a year, if they can afford it, and attackers don’t wait eleven months to strike,” said Craig Goodwin, CEO and co-founder of AvalonX and former CISO at Fujitsu, Monster, and CDK Global. “We built AvalonX so those businesses get the same quality of testing I relied on as an enterprise CISO.”

AvalonX’s Artemis platform uses autonomous agents to test a company’s defenses the way a malicious actor would, searching for ways in and determining how far attackers can move once inside. The platform is powered by Aether, AvalonX’s proprietary 400-billion-parameter security AI, trained on nine years of real-world offensive-security data and backed by 60 billion dark-web records.

Autonomous testing provides speed and scale, while AvalonX’s penetration testers add human judgment when it’s needed. Potential vulnerabilities that require expert analysis are evaluated by a tester, ensuring customers receive meaningful, actionable findings rather than a flood of automated alerts.

The technology may be sophisticated, but the customer experience is intentionally straightforward. A business enters its domain, defines what AvalonX is authorized to test, and receives results the same day. External testing requires no software installation, and results are written in plain language with clear next steps. Findings also map to SOC 2, ISO/IEC 27001, PCI DSS v4.0, and HIPAA.

Ridown Capital, the investment firm of Onecom co-founders Aaron Brown and Darren Ridge, has invested up to $10 million in AvalonX. Onecom serves more than 65,000 small and midsize businesses, giving Brown and Ridge a close view of the technology and security challenges those companies face.

“At Onecom we’ve spent two decades serving small and midsize businesses, more than 65,000 of them today, and we hear the same thing: they’re targeted like enterprises but resourced like startups,” said Brown. “AvalonX is built for them from the ground up. That’s why we backed it.”

Their investment builds on Brown and Ridge’s broader focus on bringing enterprise capabilities to smaller businesses. Ridown Group’s portfolio spans telecommunications, cybersecurity, and e-commerce, with revenues of more than $500 million in the U.K. alone.

“Aaron and I have spent our careers giving smaller businesses enterprise capability at a price that makes sense,” Ridge explained. “Craig and his team have done that for cybersecurity. We’re proud to help bring it to businesses that have historically been priced out of this level of testing.”

AvalonX is led by cybersecurity veterans Craig Goodwin, Ricardo Valdes, and Ben O’Nion, who bring more than 50 years of combined information security and technology experience to the company.

AvalonX is available now. Businesses can run a free initial test at www.avalonx.ai.

WavKong V2700 Takes a Signal-First Approach to Whole-Home Wi-Fi

Wider Coverage. Cleaner Signal. Fewer Nodes. Proprietary RPU™ technology targets the hard-to-reach corners of large homes, with up to 15,000 sq. ft. of combined indoor-outdoor coverage in company testing.

NEW YORK, Oct. 30, 2026 /PRNewswire/ — WavKong today announced the commercial launch of its V2700 long-range Wi-Fi 6 router following the successful fulfillment of all Kickstarter orders. Its approach to whole-home Wi-Fi is built on a simple principle: Improve the wireless signal at its source, then use the fewest nodes necessary to deliver reliable coverage across even the largest or most complex homes.

From the upstairs bedroom where a daughter streams and studies, to a garage, a backyard gathering, or a security camera on a barn, reliable Wi-Fi should reach the places people actually use—not just the room closest to the router.

Developed over six years, WavKong’s proprietary RPU™ (Radio Processing Unit) chip brings base-station-grade digital signal processing to home Wi-Fi. In company testing at a single-story, wood-frame residence in California, one V2700 provided up to 15,000 square feet of combined indoor-outdoor Wi-Fi coverage. WavKong has also tested the router in three-story wood-frame homes in other U.S. states.

The Problem Isn’t Always the Internet Plan. It’s the Last Stretch of Wi-Fi.

A household can pay for fast broadband and still lose usable speed at the edges of the property. A phone may show a Wi-Fi connection in the garden, yet a video call freezes. A camera on an outbuilding may connect intermittently. A bedroom two floors away may become a daily dead zone.

Mesh networking is an effective way to extend Wi-Fi coverage, especially in homes with challenging layouts. But the best network is not necessarily the one with the most nodes. Each additional wireless point requires thoughtful placement and coordination of radio channels, backhaul and roaming. For households that are not networking experts, getting that design right can be difficult.

WavKong focuses on strengthening the underlying wireless link so fewer nodes may be needed to deliver dependable coverage. In many suitable homes, one V2700 can be enough. Where building materials or layout call for more coverage, two properly positioned V2700 units can work together in a Mesh network to deliver high-speed whole-home Wi-Fi. The goal is not to eliminate Mesh; it is to make the network simpler by needing fewer nodes.

The Technology: Cleaner RF, Not Just More Power

The V2700’s RPU™ targets a fundamental radio-frequency challenge. As a Wi-Fi power amplifier operates at higher output levels, nonlinear distortion can compromise signal quality, limiting the speeds devices can sustain at longer range. Digital predistortion compensates for that distortion before transmission, helping preserve signal linearity.

Digital predistortion (DPD) algorithms have long been used in cellular base stations and satellite communications. WavKong has brought this class of digital RF processing into the 5 GHz radio path of a home Wi-Fi router through its dedicated RPU™ chip—adding a digital processing core to the radio system to compensate for power-amplifier distortion. Its engineering team brings decades of experience in mobile-communications algorithms, RF systems, and communications-chip development.

In laboratory testing at 160 MHz channel bandwidth and 1024-QAM, DPD improved error vector magnitude (EVM) from approximately −29.3 dB to −41.2 dB, a gain of more than 12 dB. In everyday terms, cleaner RF transmission helps maintain usable speeds farther from the router. Small Chip. Giant Leap.

What the Tests—and Early Users—Show

At a single-story, wood-frame California residence, WavKong tested indoor and outdoor coverage, including a distant garden location where the V2700 measured 123 Mbps, versus 4.2 Mbps for the comparison Mesh configuration. Separate testing in other U.S. states included three-story wood-frame houses, reflecting the different layouts and distances households need Wi-Fi to reach.

Independent real-world comparisons also show why network design matters. Technology creator Jeff Springer compared one V2700 with a well-known Mesh Wi-Fi brand: the V2700 delivered higher speeds than an individual Mesh node at several distant locations. Against the full three-node Mesh setup, the V2700 was faster at two of four test locations, while the Mesh system led at the other two. The point is not that Mesh is inferior; it is that stronger individual wireless links can reduce the number of nodes needed in suitable homes.

Other early users reported meaningful coverage gains. An Australian customer who had used a router plus two Mesh nodes reported 5 GHz downloads exceeding 500 Mbps after switching to V2700, versus about 250 Mbps previously. Another user reported that a previously unreliable smart doorbell became more stable after six weeks of use.

Coverage and speed figures reflect WavKong’s internal tests or individual user reports under specific conditions. Actual results vary with walls and building materials, interference, router placement, client capabilities, and network configuration.

From Six Years of Engineering to Global Delivery

The V2700 launched on Kickstarter on April 22, 2026, earning “Project We Love” recognition within its first 24 hours. The campaign attracted 1,074 backers and raised HK$3,272,087 (more than US$400,000). WavKong completed Kickstarter fulfillment on September 29, following product validation, early-user testing, and the start of mass production.

“Great Wi-Fi should be invisible. People should enjoy reliable connectivity wherever life happens—upstairs, in the garage, out in the garden, or even at a security camera near the barn—without becoming networking experts,” said Dr. Ziming Wang, CEO of WavKong. “Wireless performance starts with the quality of the signal, not the number of devices. That is why we went back to the fundamentals of RF engineering, bringing base-station-grade digital signal processing into home Wi-Fi. Our goal is simple: stronger signals, wider coverage, and fewer nodes where possible. Technology should make connectivity effortless, not more complicated.”

The V2700 is available through WavKong’s official website, with shipping to supported markets. It supports Wi-Fi 6, 160 MHz channel bandwidth, WPA3 security, and router or access-point deployment.

Magic Quadrant™, Critical Capabilities and Market Contexts research cover Made4net across Completeness of Vision and Ability to Execute.

TEANECK, N.J., Oct. 30, 2026 /PRNewswire/ — Made4net, a global leader in WMS (warehouse management system) and supply chain execution software today announced it is included in three 2026 Gartner reports on warehouse management systems (WMS): the 2026 Magic Quadrant™ for Warehouse Management Systems, the 2026 Critical Capabilities for Warehouse Management Systems, and the 2026 Market Contexts: 2026 Magic Quadrant for Warehouse Management Systems, where Made4net is included as a Notable Vendor in both the Asia/Pacific and Midmarket contexts.

Gartner describes a market in which vendors are competing to resolve “critical market demands like cost reduction, automation/robotics and AI support, usability, adaptability and ease of deployment.”

Those are the same priorities we feel Made4net hears from warehouse operators and which the Made4net solutions address:

Quick to deploy, easy to adapt, flexible to buy. No-code screen generators, interface builders and workflow designers let customers adapt the system themselves. Implementation accelerators include simulation environments, prebuilt templates, guided deployment and vertical-specific configurations.

Fit across warehouse complexity. To our understanding, the Gartner Critical Capabilities report stratifies warehouses based on their complexity, with complexity levels ranging from one to five, with one being the most simplistic distribution operations and five being the most advanced and automated facilities. In our opinion, Made4net has customers across all warehouse complexities, and a significant number of customers extend into Level 4, where labor management, automation, yard management and 3PL billing build on the core WMS. For highly automated sites, Made4net offers embedded WCS capabilities and AutomationExpert plug-ins that connect to third-party material flow control systems and WCSs. About 50 of its most complex customers run automated environments, and it supports both black-box and white-box integration with warehouse control systems.

Depth in 3PL, grocery and wholesale distribution. Three key industries for Made4net are 3PL, retail and wholesale distribution. Retail, with a special focus on grocery, is its fastest-growing. Capabilities include omnichannel fulfillment, food-related attributes management and lot/batch management. For midmarket 3PLs and cold chain operators, Made4net offers Synapse 3PLExpert WMS, along with 3PL billing and a customer self-service portal.

A global footprint built with partners. Made4net has over 800 customers globally deployed across more than 40 countries, and its software is available in 23 languages.

One platform, with automation and AI added step by step. Made4net’s WMS, transportation, delivery management, yard and labor solutions run on a common platform and data model, with a new identity access management framework across its applications. On AI, it has built a foundation layer with a conversational assistant for documentation, training and business-data queries, and has integrated AI-based labor management. Through a technology partner, it offers a computer-vision layer that flags warehouse exceptions in real time. AI agents for configuration and execution are in development.

“Buyers tell us they need a WMS they can configure, deploy and afford, that fits their industry, is supported where they operate, and grows with them. We believe these three Gartner reports, read together, reflect how Made4net meets those needs, from midmarket sites to highly automated operations, and from North America to Asia/Pacific. We’ll keep investing in usability, architecture and AI where they make a real difference on the warehouse floor,” shared Duff Davidson, CEO, Made4net.
