Squirrel Ai Co-Founder Joleen Liang Highlights the Role of AI in Critical Thinking at ASU+GSV Summit

Published

on

SHANGHAI, April 18, 2025 /PRNewswire/ — The ASU+GSV Summit, co-hosted by Arizona State University (ASU) and Global Silicon Valley (GSV), recently kicked off at the Manchester Grand Hyatt in San Diego, California. Themed ‘Learning at the Speed of Light’, the event drew over 7,000 educators, business owners, investors, and policymakers, including Khan Academy founder Sal Khan and Stanford University’s Prof. Andrew Ng (co-founder of Coursera).

Among the distinguished speakers was Dr. Joleen Liang, co-founder of Squirrel Ai Learning, who joined a high-profile panel with Khan Academy Chief Learning Officer Kristen DiCerbo and SchoolAI CEO Caleb Hicks to explore “Cultivating Critical Thinking in the Age of AI Tutors”.

Hailed as the ‘Davos of EdTech’, the ASU+GSV Summit is one of the most influential events in global education and workforce learning. It provides a platform for leading innovators across the “PreK to Gray” (early childhood through lifelong learning) sector to exchange ideas, share best practices, and explore opportunities for collaboration.

Dr. Liang opened the discussion with a compelling thesis: “AI won’t replace human thought—it’s a tool to ignite deeper cognition”. She elaborated on this viewpoint by citing the company’s proprietary large adaptive model (LAM) for multimodal education as an example.

With the growing popularity of general-purpose AI led by LLMs and ChatGPT, Squirrel Ai Learning ‘s multimodal LAM remains laser-focused on the education sector. Leveraging 117 patented technologies, including fine-grained knowledge component decomposition and root-cause analysis, it dynamically tracks students’ problem-solving processes to deliver truly personalized learning solutions. This ensures every learner discovers their optimal study method, accelerating the progress of adaptive education.

Squirrel Ai’s all-subject multimodal adaptive learning model enhances intelligent human-computer interaction, enabling seamless voice and text-based engagement with students. For instance, when a student solves a math problem, instead of just grading the answer, Squirrel Ai Learning’s adaptive tutoring system guides them with Socratic questioning: “Would the conclusion hold if the conditions change?” This approach encourages students to think independently and deepen their understanding by prompting them to verify their logic and re-evaluate problem-solving strategies.

Squirrel Ai Learning’s MCM (Model of thinking, Capacity, Method) model further helps students uncover latent strengths. Dr. Liang emphasized, “We’re nurturing adaptable thinkers—not training machine-dependent learners—and we believe it will benefit them for life.”

Squirrel Ai Learning’s innovations earned it a spot on the 2025 GSV 150 list, which evaluates over 2, 500 global companies backed by venture capital and private equity, and won the Most Transformational Growth Companies In Digital Learning and Workforce Skills award.

During the summit, many international educators recognized and praised Squirrel Ai Learning ‘s LAM model. Michael Horn from the Harvard Graduate School of Education shared that he frequently cites the company’s adaptive tutoring system as a case study in his courses, commending its decade-long technological evolution and continued innovation.

According to publicly available data, the company allocates 30% of its annual revenue to R&D as part of its mission to make quality education more accessible. It has built a top-tier research team that brings together leading AI scientists and education professionals from around the globe, while collaborating with leading universities and research organizations worldwide. To date, Squirrel Ai Learning has opened over 3,000 physical learning centers across China and partnered with more than 60,000 public schools, collecting  nearly 10 billion learning behavior data points from over 24 million students.

As the deep integration of AI and education emerges as a central theme in education reform, Squirrel Ai Learning ‘s adaptive learning system offers the industry a tangible solution: AI should never replace student thinking but rather serve as a cognitive partner that cultivates critical thinking. The future of high-quality education requires both relentless innovation in technology and the commitment to preserve the human element that nurtures original thought.

In HelloNation, Veterinary Expert Dana Novara Highlights How Local Vets Support Pets and Their Owners

The article outlines how veterinarians strengthen community ties through education, crisis response, and preventive care.

DENVER, Nov. 5, 2026 /PRNewswire/ — How do local veterinarians support both pets and the people who care for them? HelloNation has published the answer in a HelloNation article that explores the broader community role veterinarians play beyond routine veterinary care.

The HelloNation article explains that while veterinarians are widely known for providing checkups, surgeries, and emergency treatment, their impact extends far beyond medical services. Veterinary clinics often serve as trusted community hubs where pet owners seek not only treatment, but also guidance and reassurance.

According to the article, veterinary clinics regularly provide education on preventive care, nutrition, and behavior. These everyday conversations help families make informed decisions about their pets’ health. By offering clear advice and accessible information, veterinarians contribute to stronger long term outcomes for both animals and owners.

The article also describes how many veterinarians participate in local events that promote animal welfare and community engagement. Clinics may host vaccination drives, pet adoption events, and educational workshops. These efforts bring residents together around a shared interest in responsible pet ownership and community well being.

Veterinary Expert Dana Novara provides insight in the article into how veterinarians become consistent and approachable figures within their neighborhoods. The article notes that this accessibility fosters trust. Over time, relationships built during routine appointments strengthen confidence and communication between pet owners and veterinary professionals.

Beyond routine services, the article highlights the role veterinarians play during local disasters. In times of floods, wildfires, or severe storms, veterinary clinics often provide emergency medical care, temporary shelter, or coordination with rescue groups. Their expertise supports both pets and families during stressful and uncertain situations.

The HelloNation article emphasizes that these efforts reduce strain on communities facing emergencies. By safeguarding pets, veterinarians help relieve a major source of concern for owners. This dual focus on animal welfare and human reassurance reinforces the importance of veterinary professionals in local support networks.

Collaboration is another theme explored in the article. Many veterinarians work closely with rescue groups, shelters, and advocacy organizations. By offering discounted or pro bono services, they help rescued animals receive essential treatment before adoption. These partnerships improve adoption outcomes and promote preventive care throughout the community.

Veterinary Expert Dana Novara is featured in the article discussing how these collaborations benefit both pets and residents. The article explains that when veterinarians engage with rescue groups and educational programs, they help reduce the number of untreated animals and increase awareness of available resources.

The piece also points to the subtle but meaningful public health impact of veterinary care. By promoting vaccinations and preventive care, veterinarians reduce the spread of preventable diseases. Their educational outreach encourages responsible pet ownership and supports healthier environments for all.

Ultimately, the article frames veterinarians as community anchors whose influence reaches beyond clinical walls. Through education, collaboration, crisis response, and consistent care, they help create connected neighborhoods where both pets and people feel supported.

How Local Vets Support Pets and Their Owners features insights from Dana Novara, Veterinary Expert of Denver, Colorado, in HelloNation.

Register a Birth, Live: Secure Identity Alliance Hosts OSIA Live Interoperability Demo at TRUSTECH Paris

Published

Six identity technology providers will run a complete birth registration through the OSIA standard (ITU-T X.1281), with a different line-up of vendors each day, 1–3 December 2026

BRUSSELS, Nov. 5, 2026 /PRNewswire/ — The Secure Identity Alliance (SIA) today announced the OSIA Live Interoperability Demo, which will run throughout TRUSTECH Paris, 1–3 December 2026, at Paris Expo Porte de Versailles. Six identity technology providers, DIGITECH, iDAKTO, IN Groupe, Mühlbauer, Thales and X Infotech, will connect their systems through OSIA, the international standard for interoperable identity management systems (ITU-T Recommendation X.1281). Together they will run a complete birth registration, from checking the parent’s identity to a birth certificate printed on a card and verified on the spot.

Join us at Trustech and drop in to get your birth certificate on the spot. Register free here!

The birth certificate is the first identity document a person receives, and the foundation for every credential that follows: national ID, passport, driving licence. Yet in many countries it is still a paper document that is easy to forge and hard to recover if lost. Modernizing means connecting many components, such as enrollment, biometrics, unique identification number generation and credential management systems and civil and population registries. These are often supplied by different vendors, and without a shared standard each connection is a costly custom integration that ties governments to a single supplier.

At the demo, visitors play the child whose birth is being registered. The parent’s identity is first obtained and checked, and the visitor gives their details and a live face capture. After data verification, the birth is registered and a unique identification number (UIN) is attributed to the visitor, playing the child. Visitors then receive their birth certificate on the spot: their data and portrait are printed on a card together with a visible digital seal (QR code). Finally, they present the QR code to a mobile app, which verifies their identity by collecting the data and portrait from the different OSIA-powered identity systems.

To protect privacy, visitors’ faces appear on screen and are stored only for the purpose of printing the birth certificate in the framework of the demo. No fingerprints are captured, and the child is fictional. All data is erased at the close of each day.

“Interoperability is often presented as a promise. At TRUSTECH, governments will see it work, from a child’s very first identity record to a credential that can be trusted anywhere,” said Debora Comparin, Chair of the OSIA Initiative. “Six independent companies that compete have built one seamless process together, and they swap places every day. That is what OSIA gives governments: the freedom to choose the best system building block for each step, without lock-in.”

The demo will also be presented on stage on Wednesday 2 December at 12:00 in the ID Conference Room.
