Beko Brings the Future of Kitchen Living to EuroCucina 2026, Converging Legacy, Design and Purpose

Published

on

MILAN, April 21, 2026 /CNW/ — Beko, a leading home appliances company, returns to EuroCucina 2026, to demonstrate how technology, design and sustainability are converging to reshape how we create, cook and live in the heart of the home.

EuroCucina 2026 marks a moment where Beko’s strategic pillars — Legacy, Design, and Purpose — are made visible across four distinct brands. Together, they demonstrate that a shared vision can generate genuinely different outcomes and that the kitchen remains the space where innovation matters most.

At the show, Beko showcases the collective strength of its multi-brand portfolio – led by Whirlpool and Beko alongside Hotpoint and Bauknecht – each with a distinct role and a shared industrial backbone. From AI-powered cooling to intelligent food preservation and seamless built-in integration, EuroCucina reflects Beko’s commitment to intuitive, desirable and accessible sustainable living. Across the pavilion, the focus is on appliances that blend into the kitchen – flush surfaces, invisible hinges, handleless doors – while improving everyday life without adding complexity.

Can Dinçer, Chief Executive Officer, Beko said: “The kitchen is no longer just a place to cook, it is the heart of the home where innovation, design and sustainability converge to shape our lifestyle. At EuroCucina 2026, we demonstrate that the future of kitchen living is defined by the intersection of human-centered innovation, purposeful design and cultural heritage. Built-in is where these ideas find their most complete expression and it is where our most deliberate strategic ambitions in Europe and elsewhere are taking shape.”

HomeWhiz: The Connected Thread Across Brands

Central to Beko’s showcase is HomeWhiz, the unified digital ecosystem that provides seamless connectivity across all appliances. HomeWhiz acts as the intelligent thread that ties together each brand’s unique philosophy. By empowering users with a simple way of controlling their entire home through their mobile devices, HomeWhiz transforms complex consumption data into clear, actionable insights– tracking daily, weekly, and monthly resource usage and helping households build smarter, more efficient routines.

Whirlpool: Sensing What Matters

The brand’s showcase at EuroCucina puts people and their wellbeing at the centre of every technology decision, guided by a clear purpose to enhance everyday life through purposeful innovation and intuitive performance. At the heart of the Whirlpool experience is a vision of the built-in kitchen as a space where refined aesthetics and intelligent design are inseparable: premium appliances that integrate seamlessly into the architecture of the home, forming a smart, connected environment powered by 6TH SENSE intelligence. Whirlpool will demonstrate how appliances can adapt to the way people live. On display will be the WCollection Oven, built around the idea that precision should feel effortless. With a 73L cavity and Cook4 technology, up to four dishes can be cooked simultaneously without flavour or aroma transfer, which can meaningfully reduce both cooking time and energy use compared to preparing dishes sequentially.1 Building on this capability, the Pizza Party function expands Cook4 also to one of the most shared meal types. It allows up to four fresh pizzas to be cooked at the same time in just 15 minutes, delivering consistent top and bottom browning on every level.2 In refrigeration, AI AdaptiveCool uses AI-based learning algorithms to analyze user habits and environmental conditions, maintaining ideal temperatures for food preservation. The system can deliver up to 20% energy savings under optimal conditions – a meaningful gain driven by real-time adaptive control rather than fixed cycles.3

Beko: Reliable Innovation for Everyday Living

With reliability at the heart of its brand philosophy, Beko at EuroCucina focuses on helping households take control of their energy and water consumption through intelligent, connected technology that is built to last. Beko’s HomeWhiz Energy & Water Management will be on display, making resource consumption visible, understandable and actionable. Unlike abstract efficiency ratings, HomeWhiz gives users real-time visibility of exactly how much energy and water their appliances are using, per program, per day, over time. This is brought to life with the full-size dishwasher with PowerIntense technology, where HomeWhiz can monitor energy and water consumption for each cycle. With water usage as low as 5.9 liters per cycle and PowerIntense technology that can deliver up to five times better cleaning performance4, the dishwasher reflects Beko’s focus on durable everyday performance.

Also on show is the Beko Modular Refrigerator Concept, a pre-production prototype that asks a different question about what a refrigerator can be. Rather than a single fixed appliance, the system is built from independent cooling modules that can be stacked, separated or reconfigured as a household’s needs change. Individual modules can serve as compact standalone units or combine into a full refrigeration system. Beyond cooling, they are designed to live in the room the way furniture does: as surfaces, as storage, as objects you’d actually choose to have there. The concept explores a real and growing tension: as living spaces shrink and household needs shift more frequently, there is a growing demand for appliances that can adapt alongside them.

Hotpoint: Built on Trust, Designed to Care

Hotpoint has been a trusted partner at home since 1911, built on a deep understanding of real needs in real homes. At EuroCucina, that philosophy comes to life through Caring Solutions; appliances designed to help people better care for their homes, their loved ones and the things that matter most. In refrigeration, VitalCare™ technology uses three carefully selected light tones to preserve antioxidants in fruits and vegetables for up to seven days5, while FreshShield™ maintains optimal humidity to keep ingredients fresh for up to four times longer6. In cooking, VitaCare™ Steam help preserve vitamins A and C while keeping the juiciness locked inside7 — proving that cooking with steam doesn’t have to be boring and still delivering deliciously juicy results. Connected care extends beyond the kitchen: SmartProtect actively monitors appliance health to flag potential issues early, while DirectSupport gives users one-tap access to customer care through the HomeWhiz app, eliminating waiting queues with a tailored, efficient support experience.

Bauknecht: Engineering Excellence, Down to the Last Detail

Bauknecht brings its premium built-in range to EuroCucina with a focus on precision engineering and refined design. Rooted in a deep German heritage, the brand has built its identity around enriching everyday life through thoughtful technology, a philosophy that runs through every appliance on show. HeatControl temperature management in induction hobs delivers stable, consistent cooking across a wide range of dishes, while the Pure Steam Technology microwave delivers 100% steam cooking, gently preserving nutrients, moisture, and natural flavours for healthier results.8 In refrigeration, Bauknecht’s patented Invisible Rail Technology conceals the sliding rail system behind the cabinet front, delivering a seamlessly integrated built-in look with no compromise on finish.

The Pavilion: A Space Built Around the Kitchen

The Beko pavilion at EuroCucina 2026 has been designed by MCA – Mario Cucinella Architects as an inhabitable landscape: a continuous, fluid space that connects four distinct brand environments under one architectural identity.

At the centre of the pavilion, the Food Tech Lab offers a hands-on cooking demonstration space led by Beko engineers from the Cassinetta R&D Centre. The Lab brings together cooking science and consumer experience – measuring browning, texture, moisture retention and doneness to show how performance is validated before it reaches the kitchen. Live demonstrations illustrate how intelligent technologies from across the portfolio work together in practice.

Each brand’s area also features a Colour Zone – a curated set of kitchen appliances in a signature colour – positioning colour as a deliberate design language rather than a specification and demonstrating how built-in appliances can contribute to the overall aesthetic of a living space.

During EuroCucina 2026, Beko also hosted a panel discussion titled ‘Can a Kitchen Save the World?’ bringing together Akın Garzanlı, CEO of Beko Europe, alongside Mario Cucinella, the renowned architect behind the Beko pavilion, and Massimo Bottura, world-renowned chef and Food for Soul founder. The conversation explored the kitchen as a space of cultural, social and environmental significance and the role that design, technology and purpose can play in shaping a more sustainable future.

Through its integrated technologies and thoughtful design principles, Beko is setting new standards for how we live, cook, and interact with our appliances. By seamlessly blending functionality with aesthetics, Beko reaffirms its commitment to creating a more sustainable and connected lifestyle, ensuring that the kitchens of tomorrow are equipped to meet the evolving needs of modern living.

Electreon unveils new charging solution at IAA Transportation 2026 With Lite DOT: Charging electric vehicles without cables

Published

on

By

TEL AVIV, Israel and HANNOVER, Germany, Sept. 14, 2026 /PRNewswire/ — Electreon Wireless Ltd. (TASE: ELWS), a global leader in wireless charging solutions for electric vehicles, will present Electreon Lite DOT for the first time at IAA Transportation in Hannover from 14 to 20 September 2026 – a new stationary wireless charging solution for passenger cars and light commercial vehicles. Based on Electreon’s proven, field-tested wireless charging technology, Lite DOT makes charging electric vehicles as simple as parking.

“The future of electric mobility is wireless, and it will soon be available in every parking space,” says Oren Ezer, Chairman and CEO of Electreon. “With Lite DOT, we are introducing a new category to the market: powerful, modular charging that can be installed without any modifications to existing infrastructure. The strong interest from international automakers and leading suppliers demonstrates that the industry is ready for the next stage of development.”

Simply park and charge automatically

Lite DOT simplifies the charging process for electric passenger cars and light commercial vehicles, including autonomous vehicles, making it more convenient and efficient for both fleet operators and private users. No more cumbersome handling of charging cables     . Once the vehicle is parked, the system identifies it and charging starts automatically and immediately.

Lite DOT delivers up to 11 kilowatts (kW) of charging power, matching the current standard for private charging connections. The system can be installed safely both outdoors and inside garages. It operates efficiently and reliably in rain and snow, and at temperatures ranging from -30 to +50 degrees Celsius (-22 to +122 degrees Fahrenheit).

Lite DOT consists of a charging pad that is installed above ground on a parking space without the need for extensive excavation work, as well as a wall unit that can be mounted either on a garage wall or outdoors, for example on a pole, and the Electreon Flow driver mobile application. The solution is designed to operate with a vehicle-specific receiver supplied either by Electreon itself or by partners from the automotive industry.

Charging becomes part of regular parking times for electric fleets

Conventional charging solutions often still hinder the efficient and smooth operation of electric fleets. One key reason is the reliance on cables. Frequent plugging and unplugging, combined with daily handling and exposure to dirt and weather, and in many cases mistakenly being run over by the vehicles, makes charging cables and connectors among the most wear and tear maintenance-intensive components of conventional EV charging infrastructure.

“Fleet operators need flexible and scalable charging concepts that can be easily installed at their sites and parking facilities and integrated seamlessly into day-to-day operations,” explains Dr Andreas Wendt, Managing Director of Electreon Germany. “Electreon Lite DOT offers exactly that and enables fleet operators to charge wirelessly during regular parking periods.”

The future of electric mobility is wireless

The market launch of Lite DOT comes at a time when electric mobility continues to gain momentum worldwide and across Europe. In the first half of 2026 alone, registrations of electric vehicles in Europe increased by over 30 percent. According to estimates by the International Energy Agency (IEA), electric vehicles could account for around 40 percent of global new car sales by 2030, requiring approximately 150 million additional charging points by the end of the decade.

Whether wired technologies can be replaced by wireless solutions, the more convenient wireless alternative will prevail in the long term. Just as Wi-Fi replaced network cables and Bluetooth replaced other physical connections. Electreon is continuing to strengthen its position as a provider of wireless charging solutions with Lite DOT. Its presentation at IAA Transportation 2026 marks the beginning of the rollout of Electreon’s new wireless charging product that underlines the company’s vision: electric mobility should become as simple as parking itself – automated, efficient and cable-free.

About Electreon

Electreon is a global leader in wireless electric vehicle (EV) charging technology, providing integrated solutions for stationary, semi-dynamic, and dynamic (in-road) charging applications. Its product portfolio including LINE (dynamic charging), DASH (opportunity charging), DOT (charging while idle), and a vehicle-agnostic receiver platform supports a wide range of commercial fleet use cases, enabling charging to become a seamless part of daily operations.

With more than 20 projects across Europe, Asia, and North America, Electreon’s technology eliminates the need for plugs and cables, enabling automated charging for buses, trucks, vans, passenger vehicles, and autonomous mobility solutions. Live deployments include the world’s first wireless charging highway and the world’s first 24/7 wireless charging bus depot.

Following the acquisition of InductEV in 2026, Electreon now holds nearly 400+ patents and offers one of the industry’s most comprehensive wireless charging portfolios. The company is committed to advancing sustainable transportation by making wireless charging infrastructure an integral part of the future mobility ecosystem.

DON’T GIVE UP HOPE, GET OUT TO VOTE! Speaker Welch Brings Voting Rights Organizations Together to Strengthen Voter Registration and Get-Out-the-Vote Efforts

Published

Coalition will collaborate on voter education, registration, access and transportation to the polls

CHICAGO, Sept. 14, 2026 /PRNewswire/ — Illinois House Speaker Emanuel “Chris” Welch convened a broad coalition of voting rights, civil rights and community organizations to coordinate efforts focused on voter registration, voter education, turnout and access to the polls.

The initiative brings together Excellence in Bleu, Chicago Urban League, the West Suburban Branch of the NAACP, the Rainbow PUSH Coalition, Chicago Votes, the League of Women Voters of Chicago, the Cook County Clerk’s Office, The Black United Fund, and Equity and Transformation.

The coalition will focus on connecting eligible voters with accurate election information, registration resources, and assistance in overcoming practical barriers to voting, including transportation to polling locations.

“Voting is the foundation of our democracy, but the right to vote only has meaning when people can actually exercise it,” said Speaker Welch. “That means making sure people know when, where, and how to vote—and working to remove practical barriers that can prevent eligible voters from reaching the ballot box. Sometimes that barrier is information. Sometimes it is registration. And sometimes it is simply getting to the polls.”

The coalition effort follows recent action in Springfield on voting access and representation.

This summer, House Bill 4339, the Reverend Jesse Jackson, Sr. Young Voter Empowerment Law, was signed into law. Beginning with the 2026–27 school year, the law requires Illinois school districts serving grades 9 through 12 to provide eligible graduating students with an opportunity to register to vote.

Speaker Welch was also the House sponsor of HJRCA 28, a proposed Illinois constitutional amendment concerning legislative redistricting. The measure, approved by the Illinois House in April, would establish constitutional standards intended to ensure that citizens are not denied an equal opportunity to participate in the political process and elect representatives of their choice on account of race. It also addresses the creation of racial coalition or influence districts where practical.

The coalition’s work will complement those legislative efforts by focusing on community-level participation.

Speaker Welch’s 501(c)(4) organization, Excellence in Bleu, will sponsor buses to help transport voters to polling locations, while participating organizations will coordinate voter education, registration and community outreach.

“At a time when voter participation and mobilization have declined, we cannot afford to allow people to become disconnected from the power of their vote,” said Yusef D. Jackson, President of Rainbow PUSH Coalition. “This moment requires organizations, community leaders, and advocates to come together across constituencies with a shared commitment to reaching people where they are, registering new voters, and making sure our communities are prepared to participate fully in our democracy.

“We were honored to welcome Illinois House Speaker Chris Welch, Excellence in Bleu and so many organizations committed to doing this work. No one organization can do it alone. Building a strong, coordinated coalition is how we turn registration into participation, participation into power, and power into meaningful change for the people we serve.”

Chicago Votes Executive Director Stevie Valles emphasized the importance of engaging voters across generations and communities.

“Building a stronger democracy requires a multigenerational and multiracial movement—one that brings together people from across communities and political perspectives to ensure everyone feels seen, heard, and empowered to participate,” said Valles, who leads the Reimagine Civics Coalition.

Speaker Welch emphasized that the initiative is intended to build long-term civic infrastructure rather than focus solely on a single election. Participating organizations will coordinate their existing relationships, expertise, and community networks to provide voters with information and resources.

“Each organization at this table brings relationships, expertise and credibility that no single organization could replicate on its own,” Welch said. “By working together, we can reach more people, register more voters, provide reliable information and help more citizens get to the polls. Democracy is strongest when more people participate.”

Additional details regarding voter registration activities, community outreach, and transportation-to-the-polls initiatives will be announced as the coalition’s work moves forward.
