UN-recognized campaign Heritage Adapts! launches to accelerate climate adaptation for heritage by 2030

Published

on

WASHINGTON, June 4, 2026 /PRNewswire/ — Heritage Adapts! launches today as the first global campaign uniting the heritage sector behind a shared mission: at least 3,000 sites and practices taking locally led climate adaptation action by 2030. Spearheaded by a coalition led by Preserving Legacies, an initiative supported by the National Geographic Society, it mobilizes local stewards behind a collective pledge and equips them with the technical guidance, localized data access, and global connections to help them succeed. Recognized under the U.N.’s Global Climate Action Agenda as one of 120 promising climate delivery plans, Heritage Adapts! demonstrates how protecting heritage can strengthen community resilience.

The launch of Heritage Adapts! comes as climate risks to heritage continue to grow. Climate-related hazards across UNESCO-designated sites have increased 40% in a decade, and more than one in four could hit potentially irreversible tipping points by 2050, according to a recent UNESCO report. But this data covers only a fraction of the world’s heritage; most sites and practices that communities value remain untracked by international frameworks. That gap is itself part of the problem. Heritage adaptation also still remains largely absent from climate finance and policy, leaving many stewards with limited funding and support. Yet heritage is not just at risk— it is part of the solution, a source of community resilience and time-tested solutions relevant today.

Heritage Adapts! — with its founding coalition of more than 100 organizations and stewards globally — aims to fill that gap and accelerate climate adaptation for all types of heritage.

“As the world hurtles toward 2 degrees Celsius of warming, we are in a race to help communities—and the culture and heritage that sustain them—adapt while there is still time. The U.N.’s new Global Goal on adapting cultural heritage can be transformative, but only if it fuels real support for every site and cultural practice. Around the world, partners are uniting to urgently seize this moment. That shared resolve is the driving force behind Heritage Adapts!” – Andrew Potts, Policy Director, Preserving Legacies

At its core is an online community of action platform built around a self-paced program through every stage of adaptation, making the process accessible no matter the starting point.

“By providing heritage stewards with a platform to share knowledge, learn and support each other, Heritage Adapts! will help safeguard the irreplaceable heritage places and practices of communities in every corner of the globe. This effort aligns beautifully with the National Geographic Society’s mission to illuminate and protect the wonder of our world. Protecting our world’s heritage sites from climate change is not an endeavor any single community or nation can tackle on their own. By uniting science with local wisdom, the Heritage Adapts! initiative is ensuring that we will go far together, safeguarding our shared human history for generations to come.” – Ian Miller, Chief Science and Innovation Officer, National Geographic Society

“This initiative is critical because culture and heritage connect communities to their identity, land, history, and future. They shape how people understand risk, respond to change, and build resilience. As emphasized during COP30, climate action begins and ends with people, and culture is one of the most powerful tools for lasting change. This initiative demonstrates the strengths of the climate action agenda and its alignment with the global goal on adaptation as a platform for multi-stakeholder collaboration and implementation.” – Dan Ioschpe, COP 30 Climate High-Level Champion

Guillermo Ochoa fronts new campaign backing BC.Game’s commitment to a regulated Mexican market

Five-time World Cup goalkeeper explains the due diligence behind his partnership, as BC.GAME reinforces its SEGOB-licensed operations, local payment rails, and rapid payouts for Mexican players.

MEXICO CITY, Sept. 25, 2026 /PRNewswire/ — BC.GAME, the crypto and iGaming platform operating in Mexico via BCGAME.mx, today released a new brand campaign featuring Mexican football legend Guillermo “Memo” Ochoa. In the video, the five-time World Cup veteran explains the personal standards he applied before agreeing to represent the platform.

The video campaign features the legendary goalkeeper speaking about his reasons to partner with and endorse BC.GAME, including how he tested the platform himself, established trust and fairness, and why Mexican players can trust BC.GAME.mx.

“Trust is never given to you, you earn it,” Ochoa says in the video. “After five World Cups, if there’s one thing I’ve learned, it’s that. So before I put my name next to any brand, I ask the hard questions first.”

For Ochoa, that meant verifying BC.GAME’s regulatory standing and operational practices first hand. “I asked about their license. BC.GAME holds a legitimate SEGOB permit and operates legally in Mexico. I asked about how people pay. You can deposit at your neighborhood OXXO, or transfer straight from your bank through SPEI. I checked all of it myself.”

The goalkeeper, who is renowned for his longevity, sharp reflexes and read of the game, connected what made him great on the pitch directly to his decision to partner with BC.GAME. “The real question is: do they actually pay you when you win? The answer is yes. Withdrawals take minutes, not weeks. As a goalkeeper, you learn to sense when something’s off. Here, everything was clear.”

The campaign closes on a note of both belonging and responsibility. “In Mexico, football isn’t just something you watch, it’s something you feel. The incredible moments, and the heartbreak, too. But it’s always something we share. Now we get to share that with BC.GAME,” Ochoa says. “One more thing: remember, this is entertainment. Play smart, play responsibly. See you on the pitch.”

A broader bet on Mexico

Ochoa’s campaign lands alongside a wider push by BC.GAME to establish Mexico as a key market for regulated iGaming in Latin America. According to Erick Sapien, BC.GAME’s Mexico Country Manager, the country offers a rare combination of market size, smartphone adoption, digital infrastructure, and a strong football culture, which Sapien describes as “a recipe for success” for the sector.

“Compliance is not an afterthought, it forms a core pillar of sustainable expansion,” Sapien said, highlighting BC.GAME.mx’s alignment with local licensing requirements as the foundation for long-term player trust. “Operating within Mexico’s established regulatory framework gives responsible operators the foundation to build long-term player trust and sustainable local operations.”

Sapien also frames the Ochoa partnership as central to that strategy rather than a standalone marketing play. “Football in Mexico is not merely a sport; it is a shared cultural passion that spans generations,” he said, noting that partnerships with figures like Ochoa allow the platform to build tailored football communications and fan experiences that “standard global campaigns simply cannot match”.

Built on transparency

BC.GAME states that the campaign’s emphasis on fast, reliable payouts reflects operational commitments already built into BCGAME.mx. These include provably fair verification, local payment integration via OXXO and SPEI, and easily accessible responsible gaming resources.

“Securing a foothold in the market is only the first step,” Sapien said. “Long-term user retention depends on intuitive navigation, transparent payment processing, responsive support, and clear account management.”

Ochoa backing BC.GAME

BC.GAME announced the signing of Mexican football legend Guillermo “Memo” Ochoa as brand ambassador in July 2026. The partnership represents a significant step in BC.GAME’s localised growth strategy, with Ochoa supporting football-led brand communications, promotions and fan engagement activity designed specifically for Mexican audiences.

As one of the most recognisable figures in Mexican football, Ochoa brings strong local credibility and international profile to BC.GAME at a time when football culture in Mexico is attracting heightened global attention.

iQIYI iJOY Conference 2026: Expanding Its Premium Slate with 350+ New Titles and Entering a New Chapter for AI-Powered Entertainment

Published

on

By

BEIJING, Sept. 25, 2026 /PRNewswire/ — On September 23, iQIYI, China’s leading online entertainment platform, unveiled a slate of over 350 new titles for 2026–2027 at its iJOY Conference in Shanghai. The company highlighted significant advancements in its All in AI strategy, aimed at revolutionizing long-form content production and fostering a dynamic creator ecosystem. Additionally, iQIYI introduced an upgraded marketing framework, showcasing its commitment to driving innovation across content development and commercial growth.

In his opening remarks, iQIYI Founder and CEO Yu GONG laid out three strategic priorities driving the company’s AI agenda: applying the technology across premium live-action and long-form AIGC production, building a healthy content creator ecosystem, and pioneering new content formats enabled by emerging technologies. At the heart of this vision is a commitment to creators. GONG introduced seven dedicated creator service programs built around the vision to make the platform “a community for film and television creators and audiences” where every creator can be seen, earn sustainably, and be recognized.

Premium Content Slate Across Genres

China’s film and television industry is entering a period of profound change. iQIYI Chief Content Officer Xiaohui WANG highlighted three major shifts reshaping the industry: the rapid move toward a C2C era of broad creative participation, the rise of a “Minority” era shaped by increasingly niche demand, and the Platinum era, where emotional value commands a premium. He said these shifts would help break the industry’s current deadlock of audience fragmentation, narrowing creative scope, and rigid cost structures. As AI makes creation accessible to more people, anyone can become a creator. With generative tools in their hands, ordinary people can collectively become a powerful force driving the industry forward.

In response to these shifts, iQIYI has deployed a diverse, youth-oriented slate of long-form dramas spanning contemporary, historical, romance, suspense, and sci-fi genres. The lineup will bring together top-tier, high-profile actors and acclaimed creative teams across a range of premium productions, while continuing to expand offerings with warm, emotionally engaging stories that resonate with younger audiences.

The platform is also scaling its horizontal-screen, short-form drama presence through three specialized branded theaters, expanding premium supply to serve a broader range of audience needs.

In vertical-screen micro-drama and animation, iQIYI is leveraging established long-form IPs, pairing top talent with diverse themes, and using AIGC to accelerate series development.

In variety shows, the platform maintains a robust portfolio of returning flagship franchises and creative originals, complemented by a co-investment program with Douyin to incubate premium creator-produced variety content and discover new creative voices.

Onsite, representatives from iQIYI and Galaxy Arena announced that the 2026 iQIYI Scream Night will take place on December 5 at Galaxy Arena in Macao. Under the two parties’ strategic partnership, the event will return to Galaxy Arena for another three-year residency from 2026 to 2028. As one of iQIYI’s flagship annual entertainment events, Scream Night celebrates the year’s standout content and creators while highlighting major industry trends.

Premium Content as Foundation, AI as Enabler

At the conference, iQIYI unveiled the trailer for its first full-length hybrid AI multi-season drama “Immortals Over Mortal Love”. Leveraging NadouPro, iQIYI’s proprietary studio-grade production platform, the series seamlessly integrates cutting-edge filmmaking technology with live-action performances by professional actors. The first season is slated to premiere in the fourth quarter of 2026, featuring 16 episodes of around 20 minutes each.

“This series will open a new chapter for iQIYI and the broader industry,” Yu GONG said. “This is not only a technological breakthrough, but a paradigm shift in content creation. AI is empowering our content creation across the board, enhancing the efficiency of premium live-action production, expanding the boundaries of long-form AIGC, improving content creation efficiency, enriching the ecosystem, and delivering more diverse entertainment experiences to users.”

The commercial viability of long-form AIGC was validated by “The Ferry Man” series, whose first two installments recouped their production costs within the first week of release. The series generated more than RMB 8 million (approximately US$1.19 million) in cumulative platform revenue-sharing earnings in its first month.

In addition, several feature-length AIGC films from the “Peter Pau • iQIYI Film Theater” were unveiled at the event, with genres spanning adventure, suspense, action, romance, and animation. The initiative is designed to help move AIGC from experimental shorts toward commercially viable feature-length productions. From over 100 global submissions, nine projects were selected for production, with Academy Award-winning Cinematographer and Director Mr. Peter Pau providing comprehensive guidance to ensure high-level professional standards.

Upgraded Marketing Powered by Data and Algorithm

At the event, iQIYI launched the industry’s first big-data marketing system designed for household terminals, shifting the focus from individual behaviors to long-term family needs and life stages. The company also co-published the “Content Touchpoint Value Research Report” with Miaozhen Systems, China’s leading intelligent marketing platform, offering data-driven insights into how brand advertising translates into sustained business growth. By leveraging AI – from generative content creation to scalable in-drama product placements – iQIYI is evolving brand marketing from a cost-saving exercise into a driver of measurable commercial effectiveness.

Looking ahead, iQIYI remains committed to pioneering AI-driven innovation across its content and marketing ecosystems. By fostering deep collaborations with creators, brands, and industry partners, iQIYI aims to catalyze high-quality growth and redefine the entertainment landscape, delivering next-generation premium experiences to audiences worldwide.
