TrustEvals and Accorian Warn of “Control Drift” in Enterprise AI, Launching New Real-Time Risk Framework for Financial Services

Published

on

TrustEvals and Accorian warn that traditional compliance models are failing enterprise AI, exposing financial institutions to massive fines due to silent “control drift.” Their groundbreaking real-time governance framework reveals that static security audits are dangerously obsolete for non-deterministic AI systems. To combat this vulnerability, the firms urge an immediate shift to continuous runtime detection and strict autonomy budgets.

SAN FRANCISCO, June 27, 2026 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ — Today, AI governance and compliance advisory firms TrustEvals and Accorian released a groundbreaking Governance, Risk, and Compliance (GRC) framework designed to address a critical vulnerability in enterprise AI deployments. The report warns that traditional compliance models are fundamentally broken when applied to modern AI, leaving major financial institutions exposed to massive regulatory penalties and unchecked autonomous actions.

“Accorian has long been the go-to cybersecurity partner for Fortune 500s. TrustEvals complements this with robust AI governance, empowering organizations to secure both traditional and AI surfaces for complete reliability and trust through a single partnership.”

The core issue identified by the firms is “control drift”. In traditional software, a security control holds steady once it is installed.

However, AI systems are non-deterministic and constantly shift due to silent vendor updates, changing data inputs, and the evolving behaviors of autonomous agents. A system that passes a security audit today can silently fail tomorrow without a single line of code being touched by the internal team.

“Classical GRC assumes the control holds, but AI GRC has to assume the control drifts,” the authors state in the framework. This structural inversion requires organizations to abandon periodic annual audits in favor of continuous, real-time measurement substrates.

The Looming Regulatory and Security Crisis

The framework highlights several urgent threats facing enterprises that fail to adapt:

Shadow AI is Rampant: Telemetry studies indicate that 64.5 percent of activity on personal and free tier AI accounts is actually uninstrumented business use. Additionally, 75 percent of knowledge workers already use AI at work, often bypassing official IT procurement channels entirely.Massive EU AI Act Exposure: Many companies incorrectly treat AI risk classification as a one-time launch label. The new framework clarifies that the EU AI Act requires continuous, lifecycle monitoring. Treating classification as static can trigger regulatory penalties of up to 15 million Euros or 3 percent of global turnover for failing obligations attached to high-risk systems. The Threat of Safety Overfitting: The report also warns against “defensive overcorrection.” When companies test their AI too aggressively, the systems can develop “safety overfitting,” where the AI agent generalizes its refusal parameters so broadly that it refuses to perform its core job.

A New Blueprint for AI Governance

To combat these compounding risks, TrustEvals and Accorian propose a complete restructuring of the classical GRC stack. Key mandates from the framework include:

Implementing Autonomy Budgets: Organizations must match an AI agent’s autonomy to its “blast radius” rather than its technical capabilities. High-impact actions, such as moving funds, must always require explicit human approval.Shifting to Runtime Detection: Because preventive controls function only as probabilities in non-deterministic AI, continuous runtime detection must become the primary security control.Unifying the Three Lines of Defense: Internal operational, compliance, and audit teams can no longer rely on separate, periodic sampling. All three lines must read from one continuous production trace layer.

GORICO Operationalizes Continuous AI Governance

Accorian’s AI-enabled GRC platform, GORICO, helps organizations move beyond point-in-time compliance by providing continuous visibility into controls, risks, evidence, and audit readiness. With AI-assisted workflows for risk assessments, policy management, evidence mapping, and compliance operations, GORICO enables enterprises to continuously monitor and strengthen their security posture as AI environments evolve.

YANTAI, China, Oct. 22, 2026 /PRNewswire/ — Raytron Industrial today announced the launch of two new products: the TN660 High Frame Rate Fixed-Mount Thermal Camera and the TN463 Fixed-Mount Thermal Camera. Both offer 640 × 512 imaging with synchronized image and temperature data. The TN660 delivers full-frame 120 Hz acquisition for moving targets and transient thermal processes, while the TN463 provides 60 Hz imaging for routine inline inspection and continuous equipment monitoring.

Full-Resolution Imaging for Different Process Speeds

Featuring a 12 μm uncooled VOx detector, the TN660 achieves 120 Hz at its native resolution without windowing, preserving spatial detail and scene coverage. Frames are approximately 8.33 ms apart, helping engineers examine rapid heating, cooling, and short-duration thermal events in research, industrial automation, and transportation applications.

The TN463 uses the same detector resolution and pixel pitch. Its 60 Hz output supports routine production cycles and long-term temperature trend analysis. To accommodate different installation requirements, the TN463 offers 6.9 mm, 9.1 mm, 19 mm, and 25 mm lenses, while the TN660 is available with 9.1 mm and 25 mm lenses.

From Event-Triggered Capture to Synchronized Analysis

Both cameras support hardware and software triggering to coordinate acquisition with equipment actions. An external signal through the I/O (input/output) interface can initiate capture at a defined process stage. For example, a heat-press start signal can trigger the TN660 to record the thermal sequence, reducing unnecessary recording and review work.

Synchronized output pairs temperature readings with corresponding thermal images. Raytron Industrial’s TI Studio software supports simultaneous preview and analysis of up to four cameras, with temperature and temperature-rise alarms to flag abnormal conditions. Engineers can review recordings, examine and export historical temperature curves, and generate reports, linking equipment events with thermal data for further analysis.

Temperature Measurement and System Integration

Both models measure temperatures from −20°C to 150°C and 100°C to 650°C, with an accuracy of ±2°C or ±2% of the reading, whichever is greater. Ethernet and USB connectivity support data acquisition, while compatibility with industrial protocols such as Modbus TCP allows temperature data to be incorporated into existing control and monitoring systems.

With a choice of 60 Hz and 120 Hz imaging, the TN463 and TN660 allow users to match thermal acquisition to their process requirements, from continuous equipment monitoring to dynamic testing.

UL Research Institutes Releases New Report Defining Roadmap for Next-Generation Wildfire Risk Intelligence

New findings identify critical gaps and opportunities in wildfire risk modeling to strengthen community protection

COLUMBIA, Md., Oct. 22, 2026 /PRNewswire/ — As destructive wildfires increasingly threaten communities across the globe, a new report from UL Research Institutes’ Fire Safety Research Institute examines the strengths and limitations of current wildfire risk models and provides a roadmap for more comprehensive wildfire risk intelligence.

“Wildfire Risk Modeling Evaluation Findings and Community Perspectives” details findings from the 2026 Wildfire Risk Modeling Exercise, a first-of-its-kind collaborative effort that evaluated a diverse set of wildfire risk models using common scenarios and datasets. The exercise included approximately 20 organizations across academia, government, national laboratories, nonprofits, and the private sector.

For fire service leaders, emergency managers, and public safety officials, the report provides a practical framework for evaluating which modeling capabilities are best suited to specific community needs and decisions. Applied effectively, these tools can help practitioners identify where risk is greatest, prioritize mitigation investments, strengthen evacuation and preparedness planning, and make more informed decisions before, during, and after a wildfire.

“The Wildfire Risk Modeling Exercise was a convergent test and evaluation of the diverse models available to characterize wildfire risk today. These results revealed broader insights about the state of the science, prioritized gaps, and the investments needed to advance wildfire risk intelligence,” said Rebecca Harned, principal research scientist for Fire Safety Research Institute and the report’s lead author. “The findings provide a critical foundation for shaping the next decade of research, innovation, and operational capability. This report also serves as an important resource for local and state fire service and public safety agencies, providing an evidence-based framework for selecting wildfire risk modeling capabilities and applying them effectively to assess and manage community risk.”

Key Findings From the Wildfire Risk Modeling Exercise

The results from the exercise demonstrate that no single model can capture the full complexity of wildfire risk, nor should one be expected to. Instead, the report identifies an opportunity to build a new generation of wildfire risk intelligence by connecting complementary models, datasets, and scientific approaches. Doing so can help close critical gaps between modeling wildfire hazard and understanding what ultimately matters to communities — which people, property, and assets are at risk, why they are vulnerable, what the consequences could be, and which actions can most effectively reduce those risks.

To realize that vision, the report recommends building an interoperable modeling ecosystem spanning the full wildfire risk assessment pathway, from ignition and landscape fire spread through structure exposure, community impacts, and economic consequences. It also calls for stronger shared core data and standards, improved transparency and explainability, expanded decision-support tools, and greater use of ensemble modeling. Together, these advances could transform wildfire modeling from a collection of specialized capabilities into an integrated risk intelligence framework that better supports decisions before, during, and after wildfire events.
