62% of smart home device owners find AI-powered cybersecurity monitoring appealing

PLANO, Texas and PALO ALTO, Calif., July 22, 2026 /PRNewswire/ — Ahead of NCTC’s The Independent Show, Parks Associates and Plume released research that details the shift in broadband competition as providers need to deliver a superior customer experience based on reliability, proactive management, and personalization. As gigabit speeds surpass 25% in the US, broadband providers must refocus beyond speed and on engagement, leveraging advanced AI platforms to account for the unique needs of each subscriber.

The new white paper, Owning the Broadband Subscriber Experience in the AI Era, warns ISPs of risks in ceding the subscriber intelligence layer to device OEMs, satellite providers, and technology platforms. Consumers, especially younger generations, are increasingly sensitive to service issues, including outages and poor customer service, while also wanting proactive services that improve reliability, protection, and the overall connected home experience:

56% of US households report at least one home internet service problem in the past 90 days.62% of smart home device owners find AI-powered cybersecurity monitoring appealing, and 27% are willing to pay at a tested price point.

“Consumers expect providers to deliver reliable connectivity, proactive support, and protection,” said Jennifer Kent, SVP & Principal Analyst, Parks Associates. “AI enables providers to anticipate problems, personalize service, and create experiences that build long-term loyalty.”

The research distinguishes between current AI applications, such as automated network optimization and predictive diagnostics, and the emerging wave of agentic AI, where tools autonomously execute multi-step tasks across the network and care environments. It examines how agentic AI is enabling broadband providers to scale services, maturing from reactive customer support to predictive operations.

Key findings:

Subscribers experiencing poor customer service are 7x times more likely to consider switching providers than those without service issues.Younger consumers are far less likely to report their internet service as reliable and are significantly more willing to switch providers.Consumer adoption of AI tools continues to accelerate, creating new network demands and the need for intelligent network management.Connected households face between 36 and 86 blocked security threats per month on average, with botnet attacks growing 89% year-over-year.

“Subscribers just want their video call to work, their kids to be safe online and their smart lock to respond when they’re away from home,” said Rebecca Stone, CMO, Plume. “What they can’t see is that our platform is blocking up to 86 security threats a month in their home and that botnet attacks grew 89% in a year. Only a platform that learns globally across hundreds of operators and half a billion devices can spot those patterns and act on them before the subscriber ever notices. That is what turns network intelligence into subscriber confidence, and subscriber confidence into lower churn and cost to serve.”

The white paper includes a case study with TELUS, which deployed AI-powered journey orchestration to achieve a 91% digital care engagement rate and is projected to prevent more than 500,000 support calls annually.

MEPSGEN Launches NanoCalibur® Mini for Small-Volume Nanoparticle Formulation

Automated system enables rapid, reproducible formulation screening with minimal sample consumptionCompletes the NanoCalibur® Series (Mini, Lab, Pro, GMP), supporting a seamless scale-up path from early research to GMP manufacturing

BOSTON, Oct. 26, 2026 /PRNewswire/ — MEPSGEN US, Inc., a global innovator in drug delivery system platforms, today announced the launch of NanoCalibur® Mini, an automated system for small-volume nanoparticle formulation designed for early-stage drug discovery and development.

Nanoparticles are delivery vehicles that carry therapeutic payloads to target sites in the body, and they are central to next-generation modalities such as mRNA and gene therapies. Early-stage research requires repeated testing of many raw materials and process conditions, so the ability to generate fast, consistent results from limited material is essential.

NanoCalibur® Mini formulates lipid nanoparticles (LNPs) and polymeric nanoparticles at volumes of 0.1–3 mL. Built on MEPSGEN‘s proprietary microfluidic technology, it delivers precise, stable microfluidic flow control for rapid and highly reproducible formulation. Researchers can choose between two single-use microfluidic cartridges, 0.1–0.4 mL and 0.4–3 mL, to match their application, from early formulation screening through a range of preclinical studies. By enabling many formulation conditions to be tested quickly with minimal material, Mini helps accelerate development timelines while reducing reagent consumption and experimental costs.

One production architecture, from discovery to GMP

With the addition of Mini, the NanoCalibur® Series now spans four systems (Mini, Lab, Pro, and GMP), allowing customers to select the right platform for their development stage and production scale.

The defining feature of the series is a consistent formulation environment at every scale. NanoCalibur® Mini to Lab and to GMP uses the same microfluidic mixing pattern, with the same structure and dimensions. Rather than redesigning the mixer or changing the formulation conditions as production grows, NanoCalibur® increases throughput by parallelizing identical mixing units. This design is intended to reduce the need for process re-optimization during scale-up and technology transfer, while preserving nanoparticle quality and batch-to-batch reproducibility.

Protecting payload integrity at scale

In large-scale nanoparticle manufacturing, the high flow rates required for throughput can generate shear forces that damage sensitive payloads such as mRNA and reduce the potency. The NanoCalibur® Series is engineered to maintain stable shear conditions as production scales, helping preserve payload integrity and deliver consistent nanoparticle quality. More importantly, preserving payload potency will have the high potential to reduce the dose required for therapeutic effect, possibly addressing the high-dosage toxicity such as LNPs.

Launch promotion

To mark the launch of NanoCalibur® Mini, MEPSGEN will run a series of promotional offers through the end of the year for research institutions and pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies evaluating the system. Details will be announced on the MEPSGEN website and the company’s official LinkedIn page.

“With NanoCalibur® Mini, we have extended our product lineup so that we can support customers more precisely at every stage, from early research through GMP manufacturing,” said YongTae Kim, CEO of MEPSGEN. “We will continue to broaden the applications and customer base of the NanoCalibur® Series and strengthen our position in the global nanomedicine manufacturing market.”

Market Intelligence by HigherGov brings federal, state and local award, competitor, agency and labor-rate data into a FedRAMP® Authorized platform built to help contractors find, pursue and win more business.

WASHINGTON, Oct. 26, 2026 /PRNewswire/ — Procurement Sciences, the AI platform purpose-built to help government contractors win, today announced the launch of Market Intelligence by HigherGov within Awarded AI. The new capabilities combine one of the industry’s largest government contracting intelligence ecosystems, spanning more than 100 million federal, state, and local records, with AI agents designed to help contractors find opportunities, analyze competitors, develop winning strategies, and accelerate proposal development.

Redefining How Government Contractors Compete and Win

For decades, government contractors have paid for disconnected tools to find opportunities, research competitors, analyze markets and develop proposals. The experience has barely changed: contractors pay a premium for access to data, then spend hours manually turning it into intelligence they can act on.

Procurement Sciences is challenging that model. Awarded AI puts HigherGov’s market intelligence to work through AI agents, without the cost of maintaining multiple legacy solutions.

“Government contractors shouldn’t have to pay a premium for outdated technology that just gives them more data to sift through,” said Christian Ferreira, founder and CEO of Procurement Sciences. “The future isn’t better search filters or another dashboard. It’s AI agents that actually do the research, analyze the market and help contractors win. We’re not waiting for that future. We’re building it.”

100M+ Records. AI Agents. A New Competitive Advantage.

Market Intelligence by HigherGov brings extensive government contracting intelligence directly into Awarded AI, backed by more than 100 million records, including more than 65 million contract and grant awards dating back to 2000. Key capabilities include:

Market Analysis: spending trends, market share, competitive rankings and maps for any keyword and fiscal-year rangeContract Intelligence: historical prime, IDV and sub awards, with incumbent contractors flagged and the period of performance on every awardCompetitor & Agency Intelligence: more than 1 million company profiles for competitor and teaming research, plus agency spending patterns, top awardees and alerts for new awardsLabor Pricing: competitive benchmarks from more than 450,000 published labor rates

The real breakthrough is what AI agents can do with that intelligence. Contractors can ask a question, such as which competitors are winning in a new market, and get an answer grounded in HigherGov data, with sources they can review. From there, Awarded AI’s agents help teams build capture and proposal strategies, all within one secure platform.

Available Now in FedRAMP® Authorized Environments

Market Intelligence by HigherGov is available now within Awarded AI across all supported environments, including FedRAMP® Authorized deployments, and customer data is never used to train public AI models. It is the first product to bring HigherGov and Awarded AI together since Procurement Sciences acquired HigherGov in May 2026. Learn more or request a demo.
