Verra Mobility and National Coalition for Safer Roads raise awareness during National Stop on Red Week

Red-light-running crash survivors tell stories of the impact of their tragedy

New data shows red-light safety cameras can help decrease traffic fatalities

MESA, Ariz., Aug. 3, 2026 /PRNewswire/ — Verra Mobility (NASDAQ: VRRM) is joining the National Coalition for Safer Roads (NCSR) and communities across the country in recognizing National Stop on Red Week. This year’s campaign theme, Stop Today. Protect Tomorrow., reminds audiences that one responsible choice behind the wheel can help prevent a lifetime of loss – aligning with Verra Mobility’s mission of increasing road safety for all users.

This year’s campaign shares the stories behind why these programs are so critical. Julie Nicholson, who survived being hit by a red-light runner while running in San Francisco’s Golden Gate Park, and Jefohn Jefferson, whose father was killed by a reckless driver when he was five years old, share their experiences, which serve as a solemn reminder of why every choice at an intersection matters.

“National Stop on Red Week is more than a campaign, it’s a call to action,” said Melissa Wandall, president of the National Coalition for Safer Roads. “Every time we approach an intersection, we have an opportunity to make a choice that can protect lives and prevent serious injuries. Stopping at a red light may seem like a small decision, but its impacts are far-reaching. Every safe stop helps ensure that a parent, a child, a friend, a colleague, or a neighbor makes it home safely.”

Data from Verra Mobility’s automated enforcement programs demonstrate how driver behavior improves in communities using red-light safety cameras. When San Jose launched its red-light program late last year, it saw a 28% decrease in violations during the first 60 days of the program. In Merced, traffic fatalities declined nearly 50% following the launch of its red-light safety program.

National data show that red-light safety camera programs reduce fatal red-light-running crash rates by 21% in large cities, while communities that have removed these programs have experienced a 30% increase in such crashes. Despite the success of these programs, red-light running remains a growing safety concern. According to the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS), fatalities involving a red-light runner have increased by nearly 60% over the past decade, rising from 711 deaths in 2014 to 1,119 in 2024.

“Behind every red-light-running statistic is a person, family, or community living with the lasting consequences of a preventable tragedy,” said Stacey Moser, chief customer officer, Verra Mobility. “The encouraging results we’re seeing in communities across the country show that when communities invest in comprehensive safety efforts, drivers respond. National Stop on Red Week is an opportunity to reinforce the simple choices that help keep intersections safe for everyone.”

BVB Japan Tour 2026: Record Reach, 70,000 Fan Contacts and Strong Commercial Momentum

DORTMUND, Germany, Aug. 3, 2026 /PRNewswire/ — Borussia Dortmund GmbH & Co. KGaA (“BVB”) looks back on an exceptionally successful “BVB Japan Tour 2026.” After seven intensive days in Japan, BVB has set new benchmarks across all relevant key performance indicators — from fan engagement and media reach to commercial activation — impressively underscoring the strategic importance of the Japanese market for the club.

Over 70,000 Direct Fan Contacts

During the tour, more than 70,000 fans came into direct contact with Borussia Dortmund -whether at stadiums, public training sessions, the Fan Embassy, or partner meet-and-greets. The enormous response demonstrates the sustainably growing interest in the Bundesliga, and in BVB in particular, within the Japanese market.

Social media: 100 million reach, 300,000 new followers

BVB’s digital presence reached new heights during the tour, with a reach of over 100 million and 300,000 new followers across BVB’s relevant social media channels. Sentiment across all channels was consistently positive. These figures underscore the club’s growing global appeal and the effectiveness of its international communications strategy.

TV records in Japan and Germany

The match against FC Tokyo attracted around 160,000 unique users on the Japanese streaming service Abema TV – a figure that exceeded the platform’s previous highest Bundesliga viewership by 60 per cent. At the same time, an average of 50,000 unique users per match watched the games on the BVB live channels in Germany. In addition, 100 local media representatives were accredited for the match against FC Tokyo and reported live from the stadium – a strong indicator of the media interest in BVB in Japan.

14 commercial partners, 33 activations, PUMA kit launch and merchandise sales

Commercially, the tour was also a resounding success: 14 commercial partners were involved in the tour, resulting in a total of 33 activations – including the highly publicised PUMA kit launch for the new season. Thanks to the team’s presence in Japan, 10,000 jerseys were sold across all PUMA & BVB sales channels. The tour thus provided a unique platform for partner brands to showcase themselves to a high-profile Japanese audience.

Legends, meetings & fan club interest

Three BVB legends accompanied the tour and ensured special encounters with local fans. During 51 meetings and activations, discussions took place, relationships were strengthened and new partnerships were initiated. Particularly noteworthy: 10 written enquiries regarding the establishment of an official BVB fan club in Japan were received during the tour – a clear sign of the growing and increasingly organised BVB community in the country.

BVB also supported also the Bundesliga at its “Bundesliga Dream” event, which focused on BVB’s presence and successes in Japan over the past 10 years. The event was attended by 20 local and international media representatives, as well as over 80 guests from the worlds of politics, public authorities, sport and business.

World Premiere: World Street Series in Japan

As the third international host of the World Street Series, Japan made a particularly striking statement: the world’s largest projection mapping, covering 14,000 square metres, was realised as a spectacular event and picked up by more than 30 Japanese media outlets. Borussia Dortmund became the first non-Japanese brand to appear in this format — a statement of BVB’s international brand strength.

First Investor Relations Roadshow in Japan

On the occasion of the BVB Japan Tour 2026, an Investor Relations Roadshow was held in Tokyo for the first time, supported by Nomura, with dialogue conducted with “growth value” investors. The roadshow achieved its objective of positioning Borussia Dortmund as a transparent, capital-market-oriented entity in the awareness of relevant institutional investors in Japan.

Assail Signs Qanapi to Five-Year, $4.125 Million Contract

Qanapi deploys Reaper inside its own FedRAMP High, DoD IL4-aligned cloud while Assail adopts Qanapi’s post-quantum Karst platform in support of Executive Order 14412 and OMB Memorandum M-26-15

BOSTON, Aug. 3, 2026 /PRNewswire/ — Assail, Inc., developer of the Ares and Reaper autonomous AI offensive security platforms, today announced it has signed Qanapi Group, Inc., a provider of post-quantum encryption and key management solutions, to a five-year contract with a total contract value of $4.125 million spanning both companies’ platforms.

Under the contract, Qanapi will run Reaper inside its own FedRAMP Class D (High) baseline cloud environment, aligned to DoW Impact Level 4 requirements and managed through stackArmor’s compliance platform, The Armory. Reaper will conduct continuous, autonomous red teaming across Qanapi’s infrastructure, with all findings and AI-generated threat intelligence remaining inside Qanapi’s authorization boundary.

Reaper will also automate Qanapi’s Security Technical Implementation Guide (STIG) assessments and the drafting and submission of Plans of Action and Milestones (POA&Ms) to its Third Party Assessment Organization (3PAO) for FedRAMP compliance, not only writing the POA&Ms but regularly retesting assets within the boundary to validate true and false positives against submitted Security Assessment Reports (SARs), and even generating patches that Qanapi’s team can review and apply.

That deployment model is central to the deal. Assail is the only autonomous offensive security platform that allows customers to deploy the entire Ares or Reaper platform, including the AI models that power them, on premises, in their own private or public clouds, including isolated networks, or on Assail’s SaaS platform. Customers decide where the platform runs and where their data lives, preserving complete AI and data sovereignty. For defense, intelligence, and regulated enterprise customers, Assail considers that a requirement, not a feature.

As part of the agreement, Assail will deploy Qanapi’s full Karst platform, including Karst_Gorge, Karst_Echo, Karst_Fathom, and Karst_SafeShare, along with Enterprise Access to Qanapi’s FIPS 140-3 validated cryptographic modules, across its own environment. The move hardens Assail’s platforms with quantum-resistant algorithms against the full spectrum of cryptographic threats, including Q-Day, the point at which quantum computers become powerful enough to break the public-key encryption most systems rely on today. Adversaries are already harvesting encrypted data with the intent of decrypting it once that capability arrives, putting long-lived government and defense data at risk well before Q-Day itself. By engineering post-quantum, crypto-agile protection into its own stack now, Assail is directly supporting the missions of its combatant command and federal agency customers in meeting Executive Order 14412, “Securing the Nation Against Advanced Cryptographic Attacks,” and OMB Memorandum M-26-15, both backed by the earlier Quantum Computing Cybersecurity Preparedness Act.

“This contract is a milestone for Assail on two fronts,” said Melissa Knight, Co-Founder and Chief Revenue Officer at Assail. “Qanapi is running Reaper inside a live FedRAMP Class D (High), IL4-aligned environment, on their infrastructure and under their control, which is exactly how we built the platform to work. And by putting Qanapi’s post-quantum encryption inside our own stack, we are holding ourselves to the same standard our federal customers are now required to meet.”

“Autonomous offensive testing inside our own boundary gives us continuous validation without sensitive data ever leaving our environment,” said Martin Rieger, Chief Solutions Officer at Qanapi. “Assail adopting Karst across their platforms shows what serious quantum readiness looks like. You do not wait for Q-Day; you engineer for it now.”

About Assail, Inc.

Assail is a cybersecurity company building autonomous offensive AI for the modern application stack. Founded by Alissa Knight and headquartered in Boston, Massachusetts, Assail’s flagship platform, Ares, deploys self-evolving AI agents that discover, chain, and exploit vulnerabilities across APIs, mobile apps, and web applications, teaching themselves novel attack techniques through adversarial co-evolution without reliance on human-curated training data. About Qanapi
Qanapi provides post-quantum encryption, decentralized key management, and AI/LLM data security solutions through one enterprise platform, deployed within customer-owned security boundaries for commercial, regulated, and government environments.
