From expert keynotes and practical workshops to a hackathon, this year’s festival equips participants with practical insights to move from AI pilots to enterprise-grade deployment
SINGAPORE, Aug. 31, 2026 /PRNewswire/ — NUS-ISS has launched the 11th edition of its flagship Learning Festival, a six-week series running from 28 August to 10 October 2026. Marking its second decade, this year’s festival, themed “The Next AI Transformation”, focuses on the key shift organisations must make from AI experimentation to measurable impact.
As enterprise AI adoption accelerates globally, the NUS-ISS Learning Festival 2026 provides a platform for practitioners, business leaders, professionals and organisations to explore AI-ready data foundations, responsible AI deployment, leadership transformation, workforce evolution and future skills development.
“As AI moves from experimentation into everyday operations, the challenge is no longer simply understanding what AI can do, but scaling it effectively and responsibly,” said Mr Khoong Chan Meng, Chief Executive Officer of NUS-ISS. “This year’s Learning Festival focuses on what matters next: strong data foundations, governance, workforce skills, and leadership.”
Participants can look forward to a dynamic lineup of activities, including talks, expert panels, hands-on workshops, and a hackathon designed to bring the NUS-ISS community together throughout the festival.
Key event highlights include:
Main festival opening (28 Aug)
NUS-ISS opens the festival with a full-day campus event featuring 28 sessions, including talks, panels, fireside chats, and workshops – for industry leaders, professionals and practitioners across the public and private sectors.
The agenda focuses on key organisational priorities, including governing autonomous AI agents, scaling AI impact, and building the enterprise architecture and data foundations needed to support AI adoption.
Experts from Alibaba Cloud Group, Nvidia Singapore, Salesforce, Visa, Grab and the Infocomm Media Development Authority of Singapore will share hands-on AI strategies and best practices alongside NUS-ISS’ practice-based lecturers.
“Show Me Your Agents” hackathon – Powered by AWS (5 Sep and 10 Oct)
A new addition to this year’s Learning Festival, Show Me Your Agents is an open innovation competition that aims to bridge the gap between emerging AI technology and small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in Singapore.
Hosted by NUS-ISS and powered by Amazon Web Services (AWS), the hackathon brings together students, professionals, startups and SMEs to design, build and present agentic AI solutions to real business challenges.
Competing in the SME and Public categories, teams will have five weeks to develop AI agent-powered solutions for administrative automation, customer service, supply chain operations, and more.
The teams will present their final solutions to a panel of judges at Demo Day on 10 October, vying for top honours and AWS cloud credits, alongside special awards recognising real-world readiness, agent design and social impact.
Demo Day will serve as a key culmination of the Learning Festival, bringing together participants to showcase their solutions and celebrate a season of learning, experimentation and innovation.
“AI won’t take your job. AI will change your organization.” (15 Sep)
In a collaboration with the IT Management Association (ITMA), Damien Cummings, Chief of AI Strategy and Organizational Transformation at NUS-ISS, will speak at a by-invitation session for ITMA members. He will explore why AI initiatives often stall because of organisational challenges rather than technical limitations, and how the role of the CIO is evolving as organisations navigate an increasingly AI-driven future.

September 1, 2026By
BEIJING and HONG KONG, Sept. 1, 2026 /PRNewswire/ — UJU HOLDING (hereinafter referred to as the “Company” or the “Group”) announced its 2026 interim results. In the first half of 2026, against the backdrop of the digital marketing industry accelerating its shift from traffic expansion to technology-driven, refined value-based business operations, the Company kept pace with the two major industry trends of AI and Chinese enterprises expanding overseas and continued to upgrade its business matrix. During the Reporting Period, the Company recorded a net profit of RMB 82.94 million, representing a year-on-year increase of approximately 28%; the Company’s online marketing solutions business recorded gross billing of approximately RMB8.22 billion, with the core business fundamentals remaining stable.
The Company has now established a presence across six core business units: (i) Online Marketing Solutions Business, (ii) Overseas Business Operator, (iii) Integrated Service Provider for User Growth and Creative Content, (iv) A Service Provider for Integrated Influencer Ecosystem and One-stop Local Life Solutions, (v) Optimization Service Provider Specialized in Traffic Monetization for Small and Medium-Sized Developers, and (vi) AI Token Operation and Distribution Services, further strengthening its positioning as “an in-depth collaboration partner across the entire ecosystem of leading domestic Internet companies”. At the same time, the long-term strategy of “Reengineering UJU Overseas” is progressing steadily and is expected to open up new medium- to long-term growth opportunities.
Diversified Business Matrix Continues to Improve, with Synergies Becoming the Foundation for Growth
In the first half of 2026, the online marketing solutions business continued to serve as the core business foundation. The Company continued to deepen its partnerships with core customers. At the same time, the Company proactively expanded its matrix base and continued to expand its portfolio of high-quality media channels. During the Reporting Period, the Company secured 181 new customers. In terms of industry coverage, the Company continued to broaden its coverage across Internet services, gaming, finance, and e-commerce, further expanding the breadth of its customer base and continuously enhancing the level of business diversification.
At the same time, the Company continued to advance its integrated services for user growth and creative content and the penetration rate of key projects continued to rise. The Company has begun to establish a new talent system, including prompt trainers and AI image trainers. The influencer ecosystem and local life business further extended into high-margin businesses areas, providing customers with integrated solutions covering the entire operational chain from market promotion, brand marketing, influencer-driven product recommendations, and IP development to live-streaming operations. It has already secured leading brand customers in high-frequency consumption sectors such as tea beverages, dining, and medical aesthetics.
Catering to small and medium-sized developers, the Company continued to provide integrated services encompassing creative asset production, advertising placement, and traffic monetization. The business expanded into multiple verticals, including gaming, film and television, and education. The number of customers has grown steadily. By consolidating upstream multimodal AI Token resources, the AI Token Operation and Distribution Services business delivers professional AI support to customers. During the Reporting Period, token consumption significantly exceeded expectations.
As the various business units continue to expand, the Company’s business structure is shifting from being driven by a single business to synergistic development across diversified businesses. Going forward, the Company will further extend its capabilities to both upstream and downstream units of the industry chain. Through the reengineering of middle-platform processes, the iterative upgrading of tools, and the synergistic evolution of both the technical and organizational middle platforms, the Company will continuously improve operational efficiency and overall risk resilience, laying a solid foundation for the long-term and steady development of its businesses.
From the Domestic Business Foundation to Overseas Growth, the “Reengineering UJU Overseas” Strategy Sets Sail
While the diversified domestic business matrix continues to improve, overseas markets are becoming an important source of growth for the Company.
Following focused operations, the Company’s overseas expansion team has achieved phased progress in areas such as localized delivery, market expansion, and closed-loop business operations, and its overseas business capability system has essentially taken shape. On this basis, the Company formally proposed the long-term strategy of “Reengineering UJU Overseas”, with a plan to scale up and replicate globally its mature experience proven in the domestic market, thereby establishing its overseas business as the Group’s second growth engine.
In terms of specific business progress, overseas short drama operations have become an important breakthrough point for the Company’s overseas business. In 2026, the Company continued to expand its presence in the overseas short drama unit. By further integrating high-quality external resources, it has enriched its content reserves in the overseas short drama sector, further elevating its comprehensive competitiveness. At the same time, the Company established a preliminary content copyright center, with its business covering commissioned productions, in-house productions, and IP adaptations. The business scope covers the international distribution of domestic dramas and the production of local overseas dramas, marking the Company’s initial establishment of a closed-loop business model encompassing “content production — material output — copyright compliance”. Currently, monthly production capacity has reached nearly 200 short dramas. Going forward, the Company will further release production capacity and enhance production efficiency by leveraging its self-developed AI Agent and AI workflows.
In addition to the short drama business, the Company’s cross-border merchandise operation and supply of overseas creative contents also maintained steady growth. In the first half of 2026, the Company recorded a GMV of nearly RMB28 million, representing a 25% year-on-year increase. The average daily number of livestream sessions and host productivity increased significantly, with a repeat purchase rate exceeding 50% during the period. The supply of overseas creative contents business expanded its reach into major Southeast Asian markets such as Thailand, Indonesia, and the Philippines, and further into regions such as South America.
Overall, the Company’s overseas business is evolving from the stage of individual business expansion toward a systematic overseas expansion model featuring synergies across content, channels, operations, and technological capabilities, providing a business foundation for the further implementation of the “Reengineering UJU Overseas” strategy.
AI Drives Comprehensive Business Upgrades, Evolving from an Efficiency Tool to a Core Operating Capability
As the business matrix continues to expand and the overseas business enters a critical stage of large-scale development, AI application capabilities are gradually becoming an important technological support connecting different business units and improving overall operational efficiency. Based on this change, the Company has deeply embedded AI into every stage of the workflow from user insights to service delivery. The Company launched the FDE (Forward Deployed Engineer) business delivery model, truly “bringing AI into the business to address business problems and create business value”.
In the first half of 2026, the Company launched “Juguang Theater”, an integrated platform for AI-animated drama productionan, and continued to upgrade “U-Engine”, the intelligent marketing delivery platform and “U-Crane”, the AI-powered content creation platform.
“Juguang Theater” covers script management, content asset management, storyboard and shot list generation, automated narration generation, cost accounting, and online team collaboration. The platform enables unified management and shared reuse of production assets, including characters, scenes, storyboards, shots, and voice, further advancing animated drama production toward industrialization.
U-Engine has achieved enterprise-level AI Agent-powered intelligent management. It further enhances automation in refined management of content assets, intelligent delivery and real-time monitoring, and omnichannel data real-time monitoring and analysis. It consolidates cross-platform data, enables real-time monitoring of delivery data, and automatically adjusts bidding and budget allocation strategies based on performance data.
In creative production, U-Crane continued to interface with the mainstream AI tool ecosystem, including DeepSeek, Seedance, Kling, and Vidu, and incorporated the relevant AI capabilities into daily workflows. By the end of the Reporting Period, U-Crane generated on average over 400,000 pieces of content per month, with the production cost per unit of content decreasing by a further 62% compared to 2025.
This means that AI is evolving from a tool focused solely on cost reduction and efficiency improvement into a core operating capability covering content production, marketing delivery, data analytics, and business delivery. Particularly for content-based businesses such as creative content and overseas short dramas, the further integration of AI capabilities with the Company’s established content copyright system and production system is expected to create stronger capabilities for scalable content supply.
Outlook: Driving Growth Through Synergy, Expanding Growth Through Overseas Markets, and Empowering Development with AI
Looking ahead, the Company will continue to deepen synergies across the six core business units, further deepen customer cooperation, extend its content, channel, technological, and organizational capabilities to both upstream and downstream units of the business chain, broaden application scenarios, and continuously identify new profit growth points. Through the reengineering of middle-platform processes and the iterative upgrading of tools, the Company will continuously improve operational efficiency and service quality, laying a solid foundation for continued growth in business scale.
Building on the synergistic development of its domestic businesses, the Company will further accelerate the implementation of the “Reengineering UJU Overseas” strategy and position overseas markets as an important source of future business growth. With a focus on the overseas short drama business, the Company will continue to prioritize three key areas of the technological foundation, overseas advertising campaigns, and the content supply chain. With respect to technology, the Company will iteratively upgrade user products, data analytics, and distribution systems to build a technology middle platform that supports scalable growth across multiple businesses. Regarding overseas advertising and traffic acquisition, the Company will further strengthen its professional teams and enhance its ability to capture opportunities in overseas markets. On the content side, leveraging its in-house content copyright center, the Company will further improve the complete industrial system encompassing “scriptwriting — contracting — production — distribution”, and build a global AI-powered short drama content supply chain.
The Company’s overseas product business will continue to expand product categories and systematically expand into overseas regional markets and sales platforms. It will deepen refined operations, improve conversion rates in live-streaming, and continuously enhance user acquisition, retention, and monetization capabilities. At the same time, the Company will comprehensively enhance supply chain responsiveness and order delivery capabilities, while continuously strengthening user loyalty and lifetime value through refined user community management, thereby driving steady growth in the overseas product business.
Alongside the expansion of its overseas business, AI will continue to empower the Company’s various businesses. Going forward, the Company will adhere to the philosophy of “integrating AI into business operations, solving business problems, and creating business value”, continuously iterate on and optimise core AI application platforms such as “Juguang Theater”, “U-Engine”, and “U-Crane”, and further integrate AI capabilities into key areas including content production, marketing delivery, data analytics, and business delivery. At the same time, the Company will continue to encourage employees to update their knowledge frameworks, refine their professional skills, and enhance their ability to apply cutting-edge AI technologies, further unleashing work efficiency and business value.
2026 is both a critical year for the accelerated shift in the industry’s growth paradigm and an important stage in the Group’s strategic upgrade. Looking ahead, the Company will take synergetic business development as its foundation, overseas expansion as a source of growth, and AI technologies as the core driving force to fully implement all development plans, seize the industry’s window of opportunity, continuously improve operational quality and growth resilience, and strive to deliver higher-quality, more resilient business results in 2026.

October 2026 Global Sources Hong Kong Shows: 25% Jump in Buyer Pre-registration as Europe, North America Lead the Surge

September 1, 2026By
HONG KONG, Aug. 31, 2026 /PRNewswire/ — The fourth quarter has traditionally been the stocking season for overseas buyers. But in 2026, procurement decisions have grown markedly more complex. Faster-moving consumer trends and tighter regulatory requirements across major markets have extended the lead time from product evaluation to order placement. As a result, professional buyers are placing a higher premium than ever on efficient, in-person sourcing platforms that can compress the cycle.
From October 11 to 21, 2026, the Global Sources Hong Kong Shows will be held at AsiaWorld-Expo under the theme “Connecting Global Innovation, Enabling Sustainable Sourcing.” The two-phase event brings together over 4,200 Asia-based suppliers across more than 8,000 booths, showcasing upwards of 330,000 new products across categories including consumer electronics, gaming, mobile electronics, smart home, security & appliances, lifestyle electronics, and sports & outdoor. As of July, global professional buyer pre-registration is tracking 25% above the same point last year, with particularly pronounced growth from North America and Europe.
“From manufacturers with decades of production expertise to fast-growing emerging brands, the full spectrum of Asia’s manufacturing and innovation capabilities will be on display,” said John Kao, Vice President of Global Sources Hong Kong and Overseas Shows. “This edition also introduces two new features—the Best of Innovation Awards Winners Showcase and the Future Tech Discovery Zone. Buyers can validate emerging trends, inspect physical samples, place orders on the spot, and secure long-term supplier relationships—all in a single visit, without the need for multiple sourcing trips.”
Phase 1 (October 11–14): Hybrid Desk Ecosystems Gain Traction as Export Compliance Tightens
Phase 1 centers on consumer electronics and gaming, bringing together over 2,100 exhibitors across more than 4,000 booths. Categories span PC peripherals, gaming peripherals, audio-video equipment, car electronics & security, automotive electronics, personal transporters, photography tools, and Batteries & Power products.
A key highlight this year is the fast-growing hybrid desk ecosystem. As hybrid work has become the established norm, the line between office productivity and gaming performance has all but dissolved. Consumers increasingly expect a single desktop setup that delivers “work by day, play by night” without compromise. According to Mordor Intelligence, the global hybrid work hardware market was valued at approximately $28.5 billion in 2025 and is projected to reach $52.4 billion by 2031. The show will feature over 1,600 PC accessory booths and nearly 500 gaming peripheral booths, with major brands including CE-LINK, RXGAMER, Brateck, Havit, AULA, MCHOSE, ATK, TITAN, and Huntkey on display. Buyers can compare and source across monitors, keyboards, mice, chargers, seating, chassis, controllers, headsets, mounting arms, and more—without splitting their sourcing efforts across multiple events.
Another critical factor is the tightening export compliance environment. The EU’s new Battery Regulation (EU 2023/1542) mandates that, starting February 18, 2027, certain battery products must carry a Digital Product Passport (DPP) disclosing roughly 90 data points, including carbon footprint, recycled content, and full supply chain traceability. DPP requirements for electronics will follow in phases under the Ecodesign for Sustainable Products Regulation (ESPR), putting exporters on a clear and accelerating compliance timeline. For European buyers, that means supplier evaluation now extends well beyond product performance to include data traceability and regulatory readiness at the earliest stages of the sourcing process. The Phase 1 power supply and charging accessories zone will feature fast-charging, wireless charging, and energy storage products from suppliers who have already achieved compliance with DPP requirements. Buyers can assess suppliers’ compliance progress on-site and factor it into their vendor scorecards from the start—helping mitigate downstream risks in certification, customs clearance, and market access.
Phase 2 (October 18–21): AI Moves from Concept to Mass Production, Circular Economy Goes Commercial
Phase 2 focuses on mobile electronics, smart home, security & appliances, lifestyle electronics, and sports & outdoor, featuring over 2,100 suppliers across more than 4,000 booths.
Industry observers have dubbed 2026 the “year of AI agents.” The buyer conversation has shifted from “What new AI products exist?” to “Which of these can actually ship within two quarters?” Supplier manufacturing capacity and delivery track records have become the deciding factors. The Phase 2 AI+ Theme Zone encompasses over 1,200 booths across seven segments: AI terminal devices, AI wearables, AI glasses, AI toys, AI pet products, AI personal health devices, and AI-integrated products. This zone is designed to showcase suppliers’ proven ability to move from concept to mass production. Tencent AI will make its show debut, presenting its full-stack AI capabilities spanning conversational interaction, task execution, and real-world deployment. On the software side, Tencent will demonstrate its agent portfolio—including WorkBuddy (AI office assistant), QClaw (remote agent), and Marvis (OS-level AI assistant). Hardware offerings will include proprietary products like RoboticX robots and open-source systems, as well as partner-built devices targeting office productivity, lifestyle, wellness, and education sectors. The show will also host an AI Agent Summit. Speakers include Tencent’s Chief Scientist and the Chair of the Tencent Open Source Alliance, alongside AI agent experts from the Linux Foundation, OpenClaw Foundation, and other leading open-source organizations. The summit will dive into implementation roadmaps, industry bottlenecks, and emerging trends. Additionally, the show has partnered with TEEMA (Taiwan Electrical and Electronic Manufacturers’ Association) to launch a Taiwan, China AI Supply Chain Pavilion, highlighting the region’s established strengths in AI modules, components, and OEM manufacturing.
Alongside the AI push, the circular economy is moving rapidly toward commercial viability. According to IDC, global used smartphone shipments reached 225.7 million units in 2024, with a projected five-year CAGR of 4.9% through 2029. Hong Kong’s role as a critical global hub for used-phone trade is well established, with robust supply—yet the lack of compliant resale and recycling infrastructure remains the main obstacle for most buyers. To address this, the show partners with the Hong Kong International Communications Electronics Commerce Association (HKICEC) to launch the Global Mobile Communications & Electronics Trade Pavilion for the first time. Leading circular-economy players—including Zhuan Zhuan, Aihuishou, US Mobile Phones Inc., Belong Inc., and ecoATM LLC—will gather to showcase professionally tested and certified used phones that meet EU WEEE recycling standards, along with comprehensive supporting services. Buyers can complete compliance reviews and supplier screening on-site, translating circular-economy principles into actionable transactions.
The Bigger Picture: Four Shifts, One Bellwether
These four converging trends—hybrid desk ecosystems, compliance-first sourcing, AI at production scale, and the circular economy—will be put to the test at the October 2026 Global Sources Hong Kong Shows. As global buyers finalize their Q4 stocking strategies and begin preliminary vendor assessments for 2027 orders, the event will also serve as a critical barometer for how Asia’s electronics export sector is adapting to a fast-changing global trade landscape.
