XREX Group Wins Regulatory Excellence at AFA Awards 2026, Advancing Secure and Compliant Financial Innovation Across Asia

Published

on

TAIPEI, Sept. 8, 2026 /PRNewswire/ — XREX Group, a blockchain-enabled financial institution, has won the Regulatory Excellence Award at the inaugural AFA Awards. Selected from 88 corporate nominations across Asia-Pacific, XREX Group was among the five companies honored across five award categories, with a single winner selected for each category.

The award recognizes XREX Group’s sustained commitment to building secure and compliant financial infrastructure, backed by continued investment in regulated operations in both Taiwan and Singapore. It also recognizes the Group’s three-pronged business strategy spanning virtual asset exchange, cross-border payments, and RegTech, combining financial innovation with stronger fraud prevention and anti-money laundering capabilities. Together, these efforts demonstrate XREX Group’s ability to scale across multiple financial rails while upholding high standards of regulatory compliance, security, and trust.

Founded by the Asia FinTech Alliance (AFA), the AFA Awards accept nominations by invitation only. Nominations are made exclusively by AFA’s member FinTech associations—leading and representative organizations within their respective Asian economies. With members spanning 16 Asian economies, each association is eligible to nominate up to seven companies.

Each nomination represents a company that has already earned recognition through a market-level selection process in its home economy. From the 88 nominations, the field was narrowed to 30 companies and then 10 finalists through two rigorous rounds of evaluation. At the final round and awards ceremony in Taipei on 1 September, seven international judges came together in person to evaluate the finalists’ live presentations and conduct face-to-face Q&A sessions before selecting one winner in each of the five award categories.

Combating Financial Crime Is an Industry-Wide Cost

In his final pitch at the AFA Awards, Wayne Huang, XREX Co-founder and Group CEO, put it plainly: “Fraud, scams and money laundering is a cost our entire industry bears.” He stressed that no single financial institution can tackle these challenges alone, as the risks and costs of financial crime are ultimately borne by the financial industry as a whole.

The Global Anti-Scam Alliance (GASA), in its Global State of Scams 2025 report, estimated scam losses of USD 442 billion over the preceding year across the 42 markets surveyed. The scale of the challenge is also clear in blockchain finance: TRM Labs reported that approximately USD 35 billion in cryptocurrencies flowed to fraud schemes in 2025.

XREX Singapore operates XREX Pay under a Major Payment Institution (MPI) license and provides stablecoin-based B2B cross-border payment services. XREX Taiwan operates XREX Exchange and is a virtual asset service provider (VASP) that has completed anti-money laundering (AML) registration with Taiwan’s Financial Supervisory Commission (FSC). For XREX Group, a financial institution operating across virtual asset markets and cross-border payments, these figures are not abstract industry statistics—they represent real risks that must be actively identified, monitored, and managed every day.

For Huang, the challenge was not simply to manage these risks individually, but to find ways to lower the collective cost across the industry. That thinking led XREX Group to develop XRAY, its anti-fraud tool for querying blockchain wallet addresses.

XRAY provides free wallet risk screening. Its primary users include traditional financial institutions, law enforcement agencies, and VASPs. Within one second, users can look up the platform associated with a blockchain wallet address, its risk information and on-chain labels, and the types and amounts of assets it holds. They can then trace fund flows and conduct further investigations. XRAY has recently integrated AI tools to help users understand complex blockchain fund flows more quickly.

XRAY supports financial institutions’ day-to-day risk management and transaction monitoring, law enforcement investigations, and public-private efforts to combat financial crime. Through on-chain data analysis, risk identification, and AI, it helps organizations trace funds and prevent financial crime more efficiently.

The Cost of Public Trust is the Biggest Cost

In his AFA Awards presentation, Huang identified three categories of costs associated with scam and money laundering risks: the cost of technology and compliance, as financial institutions continuously invest in monitoring, risk management, AML systems, and compliance personnel; the cost of customer satisfaction, as additional checks can introduce friction into legitimate transactions; and the cost of public trust—the biggest cost, as repeated incidents of financial crime can undermine confidence in individual institutions and the broader financial industry.

Scams, money laundering, and blockchain-based finance all cross borders. Cooperation across industries, countries, and regions is therefore essential to reducing shared costs and strengthening public trust. XREX Group is grateful for the international judges’ recognition through the Regulatory Excellence Award and looks forward to building stronger connections across AFA’s network of 16 Asian economies.

As stablecoins and blockchain become more widely used in cross-border payments and fund transfers, establishing consistent, effective capabilities for risk identification and fund tracing across markets will be critical to the industry’s continued development.

One Award, 16 Economies, Infinite Possibilities

At the AFA Awards ceremony, Jaclyn Tsai, Chairwoman of AFA and Honorary Chairwoman of the Taiwan FinTech Association, summed up the awards’ purpose: “One Award, 16 Economies, Infinite Possibilities.” She said Asia’s FinTech sector needs bridges for collaboration that can scale across markets, rather than more isolated innovations.

Tsai said the awards celebrate companies that have demonstrated cross-border impact and the ability to scale their solutions across markets. Winning means more than receiving a trophy; it connects companies to AFA’s cross-border collaboration network.

Wilson Beh, Vice Chairman of AFA, also announced at the ceremony that all Top 30 companies would automatically receive AFA Affiliate Membership. AFA will help connect these companies with local associations, sources of capital, industry partners, market resources, and ecosystems, based on their target markets, regulatory and licensing needs, and strategic partnership priorities.

GUANGZHOU, China, Sept. 7, 2026 /PRNewswire/ — XPeng Inc. (“XPENG” or the “Company,” NYSE: XPEV; HKEX: 9868), a leading global Physical AI company, today announced that its humanoid robot production lines are now in operation, and the world’s first advanced general‑purpose humanoid robot made its debut by autonomously walking off the lines after completing production. This achievement signifies a key leap from R&D prototyping to line manufacturing and an important advance toward volume production.

XPENG’s robot production lines are the world’s first automated production lines for advanced humanoid robots, deeply integrating the mature automotive-grade quality systems of the smart electric vehicle industry with precision manufacturing for humanoid robot. Built to automotive-grade quality standards, it establishes a quality system for mass production of advanced humanoid robots. Designed for scale from day one, with over 80% of core processes automated, the lines deliver a high-precision, highly flexible, and intelligent manufacturing system, ensuring consistent critical-process quality and laying the foundation for scaled production and rapid capacity expansion.

He Xiaopeng, Chairman & CEO of XPENG, said: “The robot production lines were created from scratch with no precedent to follow. Today’s step is small, but XPENG is building the production lines for an entirely new product category. Looking ahead, XPENG will continue to explore faster production rhythms and greater scale in robot manufacturing, charting a new path toward a leading robot manufacturing industry in China and globally.”

As a key pillar of XPENG’s Physical AI strategy, XPENG’s next-generation IRON is an advanced humanoid robot combining highly human-like form and movement with AI-driven intelligence, designed to meet the highest safety standards. It is being developed as an advanced general-purpose humanoid robot platform, capable of supporting a broad range of applications and continuously improving through self-reinforcement in the real world.

XPENG IRON features an industry-leading human-like form and design, with a proprietary fully enclosed flexible lattice structure designed to balance aesthetics and safety. With 76 degrees of freedom (DOF) across the body and 21 in each hand, IRON delivers industry-leading levels of dexterity and mobility. On the intelligence side, XPENG IRON is powered by three Turing AI chips delivering up to 2,250 TOPS of effective computing power. This computing power enables XPENG to deploy its Physical AI foundation model directly on the robot, enabling IRON to autonomously perform complex tasks without remote operation, while ensuring low-latency inference and enhanced data security.

Mr. He said, “We aim to build a new type of robot with full generalization capabilities that can truly become part of everyday life, create a better life for people, and ultimately become a companion in their lives.” And he put on a staff badge for IRON, symbolizing that it has officially become a member of the XPENG team.

Looking ahead, XPENG robots are scheduled to enter mass production by the end of this year, with initial commercial-scenario rollouts beginning in XPENG’s own stores and campuses. Official market launch and delivery in China and overseas markets are planned for 2027.

XPENG remains committed to its physical-AI and globalization strategy, continuously building three growth curves: automotive, robotics, and globalization. The rollout of the first advanced general-purpose humanoid robot and the activation of the production lines mark another important milestone in the ongoing implementation of XPENG’s physical-AI strategy. Given the high technical barriers and limited high-quality supply in the advanced general-purpose humanoid robot segment, the gross margin per unit is expected to be significantly higher than that of new energy vehicles. As XPENG’s robotics business accelerates into scaled manufacturing and commercialization, its value as the Company’s second growth curve is rapidly becoming visible.

On August 24, XPENG’s robotics business has entered into share purchase agreements with multiple investors, raising over US$900 million at a post-money valuation of over US$6.3 billion, which marks the largest single-round private capital raise in China’s embodied AI industry to date. This is a strong endorsement from the capital markets of XPENG Group’s leading position, technology roadmap, scaled manufacturing capabilities, and long-term commercial value in the physical AI domain.

From a unified physical AI foundation model, to different intelligent embodiments, to scaled manufacturing, XPENG is progressively connecting the full chain from model base and product R&D to industrialized deployment, bringing AI out of the digital world into the real world, and into the broader physical world.

Collaboration combines Gallagher’s global insurance expertise and Philippine market presence with insureMO’s technology to accelerate product launches, carrier connectivity and digital distribution

SINGAPORE, Sept. 8, 2026 /PRNewswire/ — insureMO, the global leading insurance Middle Office platform provider, today announced the successful launch of its API-led insurance distribution platform to support Gallagher’s expanding digital insurance distribution capabilities across various ecosystems in the Philippines.

Founded in 1927, Gallagher serves clients across more than 130 countries. In the Philippines, Gallagher builds on the presence established by Philinsure in 2000, combining deep local market knowledge and relationships with Gallagher’s global insurance and risk management capabilities.

The collaboration with insureMO strengthens Gallagher’s digital distribution capabilities across affinity, banking, embedded insurance, financial services and other emerging channels.

Supporting a Growing Insurance Portfolio

The initial implementation supports Gallagher’s affinity business with a leading loan company, with products including Group Credit Life, Group Personal Accident, Enhanced Group Personal Accident, Family Relief Program, Calamity Assistance Program, Fire, and Accidental Death & Dismemberment (AD&D).

From January through July 2026, the portfolio represented more than 400 million in aggregate policy/transaction value, demonstrating the platform’s ability to support substantial volumes as digital distribution expands.

Faster Product Launches and Connectivity

insureMO provides Gallagher with a technology foundation that brings together insurance product configuration, digital customer journeys, APIs and carrier connectivity.

This enables Gallagher to bring products to market faster, integrate new distribution partners more efficiently and improve analytics and reporting. insureMO’s carrier connectivity capabilities also help reduce the time and effort required to introduce additional insurers and products to distribution channels in the Philippine market.

Expanding the Digital Insurance Ecosystem

The collaboration is already extending beyond the initial affinity implementation. Gallagher and insureMO are pursuing opportunities including retail insurance through banks, commercial lines in the transportation sector, embedded insurance for financial services companies, standalone digital insurance marketplaces and broader carrier connectivity.

“Gallagher brings a powerful combination of global insurance expertise and local market knowledge in the Philippines,” said Rajat Sharma, CRO of insureMO. “By combining that strength with insureMO’s technology and carrier connectivity, we can shorten the journey from an insurance opportunity to a live product and create a foundation for Gallagher to continuously expand its digital insurance ecosystem.”

About insureMO

insureMO is the global insurance Middle Office platform. The platform is organized across three pillars: API, Data, and AI, with 2,500+ atomic APIs spanning the full insurance lifecycle from quotation to claims. The architecture is open by design: the same APIs that connect 8,700+ distribution channels and technology partners are equally discoverable by AI agents and coding assistants. This is what makes insureMO both ecosystem-friendly and AI-friendly; any AI tool capable of calling an API can build on insureMO. Over 500 insurers, distributors, and ecosystem partners across 50+ countries run on insureMO, processing more than US$25 billion in Gross Written Premium across 17,500+ configured products spanning Life and Health, Personal Lines, Commercial and Specialty, and Reinsurance.
