Ferrovalle and INFORM Partner to Advance AI-Powered Intermodal Operations in Mexico City

Published

on

INFORM’s Syncrotess Optimization Plus platform to power major Smart Yard automation initiative at Latin America’s flagship inland rail freight hub at Ferrovalle Intermodal in Mexico City. The optimization software will support yard, equipment, and train operations across two operational areas while working alongside Ferrovalle’s existing in-house Terminal Operating System (TOS). Go-live is targeted for June 2027.

ATLANTA and CHICAGO, Sept. 15, 2026 /PRNewswire/ — INFORM, a global leader in AI-driven logistics and operational optimization, today announced Ferrovalle has selected its Syncrotess Optimization Plus software to power a major Smart Yard initiative in Mexico City. Ferrovalle operates one of Mexico’s most important rail freight hubs and serves as a key last-mile connection for rail traffic moving through the Valley of Mexico. Its intermodal division handled around 550,000 TEUs in 2025, making it one of Latin America’s largest inland intermodal operations.

Taking automation beyond the gate
With its Smart Yard project, Ferrovalle is extending its automation further into terminal operations. Planning container storage, equipment deployment, and train loading and discharge currently still relies to a significant degree on manual criteria and dispatcher experience. Syncrotess Optimization Plus will use operational data from Ferrovalle’s existing systems to provide greater operational transparency and generate coordinated, continuously updated recommendations.

“Smart Yard represents an important next step in Ferrovalle’s digital transformation and in our vision for the future of intermodal operations,” said Francisco Fabila, Managing Director of Ferrovalle. “Our objective is clear: every train, every railcar, every container and every truck moving through our operation should have real-time digital visibility, supported with automated data capture, advanced analytics and AI-driven decision support by INFORM. By integrating these capabilities into our existing digital ecosystem, we are giving our teams better tools to operate more efficiently, consistently, and safely. Ultimately, technology is not the objective in itself; it is an enabler to deliver a more predictable, reliable and customer-focused service.”

The solution combines INFORM’s Yard Optimizer, Crane Optimizer, Vehicle Optimizer, and Train Load Optimizer. The initial optimized fleet includes eight RTG cranes, four reach stackers, and 14 terminal tractors. Ferrovalle aims to increase equipment throughput, improve the ratio of billable moves to total handling volume, and meet defined service-level targets for truck handling, train loading, and train discharging.

A key feature of the project is its hybrid architecture. Rather than replacing Ferrovalle’s internally developed TOS, Syncrotess Optimization Plus will operate as an additional optimization layer, exchanging train consist data, load plans, container status, clearance information, and operational updates.

Optimization within a complex customs environment
The project covers two specific yards: customs-cleared and customs-controlled yards. The optimization must maintain this separation while also accounting for different processes for maritime and cross-border containers.

Dedicated inspection and loading areas will be integrated into the workflow through automated tractor assignments and status exchanges with Ferrovalle’s TOS. Additionally, integration with the terminal’s Equipment Control System (ECS) enables automatic weight verification during routine crane lifts, eliminating separate weighing stops and keeping cargo moving.

Customs clearance will be incorporated directly into operational decision-making. Before Syncrotess Optimization Plus assigns a container for train loading, Ferrovalle’s TOS confirms that the necessary customs and documentation clearance has been granted. Only cleared containers can be released for loading.

“Ferrovalle already has a sophisticated digital infrastructure, so this project is not about replacing existing systems,” said Dr. Eva Savelsberg, Senior Vice President Terminal & Distribution Center Logistics at INFORM. “The task is to connect the available data with intelligent optimization and coordinate decisions across yard, equipment, and train operations.”

To further streamline intermodal rail transfers, the Train Load Optimizer will additionally automate a planning process that is currently largely manual. It generates optimized train load plans based on available containers, train configurations, operational restrictions, and clearance status. Planners remain able to review and adjust the proposed plans when required.

The contract was signed in early September 2026, with go-live planned approximately nine months later in June 2027.

Palmetto Publishing Releases Farzaneh’s New Memoir About One Woman’s Journey from Iran to Freedom

Published

Newly published by Palmetto Publishing, Ascent traces an Iranian woman’s path from a childhood of silence and religious oppression to finding her voice in America.

CHARLESTON, S.C., Sept. 15, 2026 /PRNewswire/ — Palmetto Publishing has released Ascent: A Courageous Quest from Silence to Freedom, a new memoir by Iranian-born author and entrepreneur Farzaneh. The book chronicles her life from a rural village in Iran through an abusive marriage, a move to the United States, and her eventual rise as a businesswoman and advocate against forced marriage.

The memoir opens in the attic of a childhood home in Iran, where a young girl raised in a Sufi household writes secret letters to God, questioning the patriarchal customs and religious strictures that govern every aspect of her life. Compassion and rigidity exist side by side in her family. Books become her sanctuary. Farzaneh recounts in specific, unflinching detail the loss of her brother in childhood, the weight of cultural expectations placed on girls, and the small acts of defiance that kept her spirit intact long before she ever imagined a life beyond the borders of her country.

The stakes of that defiance escalate sharply. Farzaneh survives an abusive marriage in which obedience is enforced as love. She faces the cultural challenges and quiet loneliness of starting over in a new country, navigating an unfamiliar society, while building a new sense of belonging.  As she builds a career in a male-dominated business world, she confronts new forms of resistance. Each chapter raises the same question: how much can one person endure and still choose openness over bitterness?

Farzaneh stated, “I wrote this book so that when someone finishes it, they feel more optimistic, more courageous in facing the issues in their own lives, and certain that it is never too late to rise, no matter their circumstances.”

Farzaneh, who holds a master’s degree and has authored several previous books, brings the credibility of lived experience to a genre that rewards honesty above all else. Her advocacy work against forced marriages and child brides gives the book an urgency that extends well beyond her own story.

Ascent is available for purchase online at Amazon.com and BarnesandNoble.com.

About the Author: Farzaneh is an Iranian-born author, successful entrepreneur, and passionate advocate for the prevention of forced marriages and child brides. She holds a Master’s Degree and has authored several books, channeling her professional accomplishments and deeply personal experiences into work that champions resilience, compassion, and empowerment. Her voice carries the authority of someone who has not only witnessed systemic injustice but has overcome it.

Farzaneh’s writing journey is rooted in the attic of her childhood home in a rural Iranian village, where books became her sanctuary from a world defined by strict Islamic traditions and the undervaluation of women. Witnessing girls as young as thirteen forced into marriage ignited a rebellion in her that would shape the rest of her life. She left home at thirteen, fought to pursue her education against extraordinary odds, and eventually moved  to the United States. Her memoir, Ascent: A Courageous Quest from Silence to Freedom, traces this remarkable journey through abuse, displacement, and reinvention, offering readers an unflinching yet deeply hopeful account of what it means to build a life from the ground up.

Now based in the United States, Farzaneh brings the same tenacity to her advocacy work that carried her from a small village in Iran to entrepreneurial success in a new country. She writes to challenge assumptions, and to remind readers that courage and an open heart can coexist with pain. Her greatest hope is that her story inspires others never to give up, no matter their circumstances.

Faye Unveils New Integration Connecting Intercom and NetSuite, Giving Support Teams Instant Access to Financial Data

New integration syncs contact, company, and financial records between the two platforms, so customer-facing teams get answers without ever leaving Intercom.

CALABASAS, Calif., Sept. 15, 2026 /PRNewswire/ — Faye, a global leader in software strategy, AI deployment, integration, and ongoing management for mid-market and enterprise organizations and the 2026 Intercom Services Partner of the Year, today announced a new integration connecting Intercom, from the parent company Fin, and NetSuite, giving support, sales, and success teams a complete view of every account’s financial history without ever leaving Intercom.

Support reps have long faced a familiar bottleneck: a customer asks about an invoice or an order, and the answer lives in a finance system the rep can’t see. Faye’s new integration closes that gap. Customer, contact, and financial data now stay in sync between NetSuite and Intercom automatically, so teams spend less time switching tools and chasing down answers, and more time helping clients.

The integration includes:

Two-way contact sync: Support, sales, and success teams always see up-to-date contact names, companies, and phone numbers, no matter which system the information was entered in.Automatic company sync from NetSuite to Intercom: Every NetSuite customer record becomes a Company in Intercom, complete with website and industry, so conversations are instantly attached to the right account.Invoices, credit memos, and sales orders visible directly in Intercom: Reps can see a customer’s billing and order history without ever leaving the Intercom Inbox or Messenger, cutting down on tool-switching and back-and-forth with finance.A purpose-built, read-only Sales App inside Intercom: Customer-facing teams get a clear, safe snapshot of NetSuite financial data, with zero risk of accidental edits to source records.Context-aware record display: The app automatically surfaces the Sales Orders, Invoices, and Credit Memos tied to whichever Company or Contact is open, so reps get relevant answers in seconds, not minutes.

“Every time a support rep has to stop and ask another team for an answer, that’s a moment we’re not taking care of the client the way we should,” said David Faye, CEO of Faye. “This integration is about closing that gap. We built it so the answer is already there, right inside the conversation. That’s what Innovate³ means to us. We don’t stop at connecting two systems, we keep asking what would actually make a rep’s day easier, and we build that next.”

The Intercom NetSuite integration is available now. Faye is offering walkthroughs and pricing details on request for clients interested in connecting the two platforms. To learn more, visit fayedigital.com/software/intercom-netsuite-integration/.
