Hong Kong People in Xiamen | Fujian and Hong Kong Join Hands, the “Golden Key” Opens a New Era of Going Global

XIAMEN, China, Sept. 14, 2026 /PRNewswire/ — This is a news report by Hong Kong Ta Kung Wen Wei Media Group Limited:

On September 8, the 26th China International Fair for Investment and Trade officially opened at the Xiamen International Expo Center, and Xiamen once again entered the “September 8 Time.” Under the theme of “Expanding Two-Way Investment and Promoting Global Development Together,” more than 1,200 government official institutions, business groups and enterprises from 129 countries and regions, as well as 30 international organizations, registered to participate. At this CIFIT, a number of “Hong Kong teams” from Hong Kong came to escort companies going global. Together, they formed a “Hong Kong channel” leading to the world, hoping to play the dual roles of a “super connector” and a “super value-added partner” to safeguard more mainland enterprises in their journey of going global.

Joining the “Going Global Special Task Force” to Go from Hong Kong to the World

For Chen Feng, Executive Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of the Chinese General Chamber of Commerce in Hong Kong, no matter how many times he has visited Xiamen, this romantic and laid-back coastal city can always bring him a different kind of surprise. This year, what caught his eye was the main venue of the China International Fair for Investment and Trade—the Xiamen International Expo Center. “This Minnan-style building looks magnificent and leaves a deep impression on people. I think this will also lay a good foundation for the continued and high-quality hosting of CIFIT in the future.” What surprised him even more was that the 200,000-square-meter venue brought together a rich and diverse range of professional exhibition areas from different countries and regions, while the division into the three major thematic sections of “China Investment,” “Invest in China,” and “International Investment” further highlighted the characteristics of this year’s CIFIT.

Since the opening of CIFIT, the booth of the Chinese General Chamber of Commerce in Hong Kong has remained crowded with visitors, receiving more than 100 consultations per day. “In just 48 hours, we received more than 300 professional visitors, mainly from mainland government departments, business associations and technology companies. Some of them came to consult us about plans to list in Hong Kong, while others reached preliminary cooperation plans with us. These results demonstrate the role CIFIT plays as an international link,” Chen Feng said.

Since its establishment, the Chinese General Chamber of Commerce in Hong Kong has always upheld the banner of “loving the country and Hong Kong,” firmly promoted Hong Kong’s prosperity and stability, and facilitated economic and trade exchanges and cooperation between Hong Kong and the mainland. It is a “rainbow bridge” that connects Hong Kong and the mainland most closely. Last year, the Chinese General Chamber of Commerce in Hong Kong established the Hong Kong Professional Listing and Going Global Service Alliance. As a core member of the “Mainland Enterprises Going Global Special Task Force” specially proposed by the Hong Kong SAR Government and Invest Hong Kong, the Chinese General Chamber of Commerce in Hong Kong not only shared Hong Kong’s “secrets for going global” at CIFIT, but also led a number of enterprises and organizations providing professional going-global services to participate in the event, including Shanghai Fangda Law Firm, which provides legal services under both Chinese law and the laws of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region of China, as well as cross-border legal services in international trade, cross-border investment, finance and capital markets, energy and infrastructure, intellectual property and data protection, civil and commercial litigation and arbitration. There was also ICS Group, which has more than 10 years of service experience in offshore jurisdictions and China and provides one-stop solutions for matters including offshore company incorporation and maintenance, going-global compliance, fund establishment and compliance, finance and taxation, listed company secretarial services and related services.

“In recent years, more and more mainland enterprises have chosen Hong Kong as their first stop for going global because Hong Kong has unique advantages and can provide professional advice and a full range of services,” Chen Feng explained. “This is because Hong Kong has not only many well-known law and accounting firms, but also numerous organizations engaged in intellectual property and related services. They can all provide one-stop services and solutions for mainland enterprises developing overseas. Simply put, choosing Hong Kong as the first choice for going global allows you to understand and connect with the world at the lowest cost.”

Bringing Together Hong Kong Experience to Help Fujian Enterprises Go Global

As Chen Feng said, amid the rapidly changing international situation and undercurrents in overseas markets, going global presents both opportunities and crises, making the “escort” of professional teams particularly important. U&I GROUP is exactly such a team. The group is committed to integrating business, legal, and financial and tax services into efficient and convenient one-stop solutions, providing comprehensive solutions that take into account the needs of both enterprises and entrepreneurs.

“Mainland enterprises ‘going out’ is by no means as simple as establishing a company overseas. They need to complete a complete set of systematic work.” Lai Xiaomin, Partner of U&I GROUP, sat at the booth, with a brand display board behind her showcasing the group’s 20 years of experience and confidence in deeply engaging in cross-border services. “I would summarize U&I’s model as ‘mainland needs + Hong Kong professional capabilities + global service network.’ First, we conduct preliminary diagnosis to clarify the company’s objectives for going global and its main risk points; then, relying on Hong Kong’s mature resources in accounting, legal services and cross-border licenses, we design an appropriate overseas investment structure for the enterprise and handle ODI filing, cross-border finance and taxation, and overseas compliance matters; at the same time, we connect with global partner organizations to provide full-process services covering overseas factory establishment, mergers and acquisitions, financing, intellectual property protection and more.”

Born in Zhangzhou, Fujian, Lai Xiaomin has worked and lived in Hong Kong for 17 years. Today, she has brought her family back to Fujian and lives between the three cities of “Fuzhou–Xiamen–Hong Kong,” which is also related to the group’s development strategy. “In 2023, we officially established our presence in Xiamen, also because we recognized Xiamen’s business environment and its solid foundation for external exchanges. We moved into the Maritime Silk Road Central Legal District, hoping to bring Hong Kong’s mature cross-border service capabilities to Xiamen, stay close to local Fujian enterprises, and move our services forward so that enterprises do not have to travel to Hong Kong and can obtain international professional support locally.” In Lai Xiaomin’s view, many manufacturing, foreign trade and new energy enterprises in Xiamen have the willingness to go global, but often have only a limited understanding of overseas laws, taxation and cross-border rules and need professional teams to help establish cross-border structures. “There was once a local manufacturing enterprise in Xiamen that planned to expand into Southeast Asia. We assisted them in using Hong Kong as a transit hub to complete overseas investment filing, tax planning and the establishment of an overseas entity, reducing compliance risks in cross-border investment and ultimately successfully establishing a production base in Southeast Asia.”

In addition, in response to the financing needs of Fujian enterprises in Hong Kong, U&I GROUP also provides full-chain services such as structural planning and cross-border compliance. At the same time, it summarizes its past service experience and compiles it into manuals to share with some small and medium-sized enterprises free of charge. Lai Xiaomin mentioned that in the future, they will continue to carry out educational activities on basic knowledge of enterprises going global, so as to better serve different enterprises. “There are many people from Fujian on our team. Everyone carries a special sense of affection and is committed to accompanying Fujian businesspeople on a steady path of going global,” Lai Xiaomin said with emotion. This year’s CIFIT has further strengthened her belief that Hong Kong and Xiamen will have greater room for exchanges and cooperation. “Many Hong Kong institutions have brought overseas resources, financial capabilities and professional service experience to Xiamen, while Xiamen enterprises have a solid industrial foundation. The complementary advantages of the two sides are very obvious. Cooperation between the two places should be mutually empowering: Xiamen provides Hong Kong institutions with landing scenarios for entering the mainland market, while Hong Kong continues to play its role as a ‘super connector,’ bringing global capital, rules and market channels to Xiamen enterprises.”

Bringing Legal Services Forward to Make Cross-Border Business Worry-Free

When Xiamen is mentioned, the first impression of most Hong Kong people is that it is a coastal tourist city. For Huang Yiwen, Vice President and Secretary General of the OneConnect International Online Arbitration and Mediation Center, who now lives in Hong Kong for work, she has also seen another side of Xiamen. At the crowded CIFIT, merchants from all over the world gathered together to discuss cooperation and seek development with an open attitude. At this investment event, going global was undoubtedly one of the important topics. Most of the consultations received by Huang Yiwen revolved around dispute resolution in cross-border trade.

“Actually, let’s take a simple example. In the past, when European companies and Chinese companies had disputes during cooperation, they needed to go to Europe or China to file lawsuits, which was time-consuming, labor-intensive and costly. Now, by using online methods, we can assist both parties in arbitration or mediation, greatly reducing all these costs and significantly improving the efficiency of dispute resolution.”

In Huang Yiwen’s view, disputes arising between cross-border trade parties and multinational enterprises are often caused by differences in laws, business transactions and even cultures between the two places. OneConnect International Online Arbitration and Mediation Center can provide the most suitable dispute resolution method for parties facing different situations. For example, it provides comprehensive services including secure online communication and document submission functions, online hearing arrangements, electronic signatures, intelligent hearing transcription, and AI machine translation. It can also conduct online meetings or hearings through a secure video conferencing system. She mentioned a case: a Hong Kong company purchased a batch of rough gemstones in Xinjiang, but a dispute arose due to quality and other issues. Considering the long distance between Hong Kong and Xinjiang and the relatively small amount of money involved, they ultimately chose the OneConnect platform, and the case was settled through mediation within five days, with both parties being very satisfied.

As the first and only online dispute resolution platform in Hong Kong, China, approved by the APEC Economic Committee, OneConnect’s APEC Online Dispute Resolution Service Platform assists enterprises within APEC in resolving cross-border business-to-business disputes. At the same time, OneConnect also provides enterprises going global with a one-stop platform for services in areas such as legal and financial matters. According to Huang Yiwen, some Xiamen enterprises engaged in foreign-related businesses such as trade, shipping and commodities have used OneConnect’s platform to find overseas partners or professional providers of legal and financial services. “Xiamen already has many industries suitable for going global, such as foreign trade and shipping. Our platform has already helped many Xiamen enterprises establish operations overseas and safeguarded their journey of going global,” Huang Yiwen said.

For enterprises going global, she also offered some suggestions: establish a procurement list for overseas legal services in advance, prioritizing three types of services—consultation with local legal experts, cross-border contract review, and localized compliance review. In short, legal and professional services should be arranged in advance rather than considered only after a dispute occurs.

Although this was Huang Yiwen’s second time participating in CIFIT, she had already directly experienced that the internationalization and professionalism of CIFIT had improved compared with before in this brand-new venue. “I saw many interesting smart devices, as well as various functional robots. I sincerely hope that CIFIT can become a very good platform for helping Chinese enterprises ‘go global,’ and I also hope that we can connect with more foreign parties and create more sparks.” This time, in addition to the Nanputuo vegetarian pastries that she had been longing for, she also brought back to Hong Kong her confidence in the coordinated development of enterprises in Xiamen and Hong Kong. “Hong Kong plays the role of a super transit hub, helping Xiamen enterprises with their international expansion and promoting deeper integration between the two places.”

~ Seasoned health IT executive and former ONC advisor to lead EBSCO Clinical Decisions as it advances its mission to bring trusted evidence to clinicians at the point of care.~

IPSWICH, Mass., Oct. 26, 2026 /PRNewswire/ — EBSCO Clinical Decisions today announced the appointment of Paul Tuten as its Executive Vice President. In his role, Tuten will oversee all aspects of EBSCO Clinical Decisions, including strategy, content, product development, and growth. His priorities include advancing the organization’s point-of-care strategy and expanding partnerships that bring expert-vetted DynaMed® content directly into the workflows, platforms, and AI-enabled tools clinicians use every day.

“Paul’s strong and even-handed leadership is an incredible asset as we work to deliver intelligent, evidence-based tools that elevate care delivery,” said Roy Ziegelstein, MD, MACP, Editor-in-Chief and Chief Medical Officer of DynaMed. “His deep technical expertise and track record in academic publishing will help us take the next step in building and delivering trustworthy, evidence-based solutions for clinicians that integrate natively into their daily workflows, reducing friction and improving care when and where it matters most.”

Tuten joined the company in 2025 as Executive Vice President and Chief Platform Officer at EBSCO Information Services, focused on accelerating scalable growth of EBSCO’s advanced knowledge services. Prior to joining, he was Chief Product and Technology Officer at Taylor & Francis, where he led a global team in driving digital transformation and enhancing data governance, analytics, and platform-centric customer experiences in service to academic researchers. Tuten previously built and repositioned health IT organizations focused on clinical data exchange, patient safety, quality measurement, and revenue cycle management, including at Quantros (now part of RLDatix and Healthcare Bluebook), RxAnte, and ABILITY Network (now part of Inovalon). He holds a PhD in Information Systems from Nova Southeastern University.

“For too long, clinical decision support has worked like a paper map. Useful, but only if you pull over to review it and already know where you are. Clinicians need something closer to GPS, seamlessly integrated into the car and proactively guiding them in real time without having to take their eyes off the road,” said Tuten. “At EBSCO Clinical Decisions, our job is to get trusted clinical knowledge everywhere care is delivered. But like GPS, clinical decision support is only as good as the information behind it. With AI tools multiplying and published research outpacing peer review, it’s never mattered more that human experts decide what evidence informs it. I’m excited to help bring this vision to life and set a new standard for point-of-care delivery.”

Tuten has also advised the federal government on health information exchange and interoperability as a Senior Advisor to the Office of the National Coordinator for Health Information Technology (ONC) at the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services. In that role, he supported the HITECH Act’s Meaningful Use program and served as a government liaison to EHR vendors on certification criteria.

College Board Launches AP Cybersecurity to Prepare Students to Protect the Digital World

New high school course builds foundational skills for college, careers, and service as states connect cybersecurity education to national security needs

NEW YORK, Oct. 26, 2026 /PRNewswire/ — Cyber threats reach into everyday life, from scams that steal families’ savings to attacks on utilities and other essential services. Helping students understand and respond to those threats can open doors to further education, employment, and national defense service. College Board’s new AP Cybersecurity course, which was launched in high schools this fall, gives students a place to begin.

In 2025, U.S. employers posted more than half a million job listings requiring cybersecurity skills. Yet many students have little opportunity to learn about cybersecurity in high school or see where those skills could take them.

Experience the full interactive Multichannel News Release here: https://www.multivu.com/college_board/9381153-en-college-board-launches-ap-cybersecurity

AP Cybersecurity introduces students to the work behind that demand: protecting the systems people depend on. Through practical scenarios, students assess security weaknesses, weigh risks, and investigate evidence of attacks. An assignment might ask them to evaluate threats to internet-connected farm equipment or recommend protections for computer networks aboard a naval submarine.

These assignments help students see how cybersecurity skills apply across industries and in national defense. Indiana offers an example of how those connections can take shape. The statewide Cybersecurity Partnership brings together high schools, colleges, employers, and the Indiana National Guard to help students explore routes into further education, employment, and military service.

The course and partnerships like Indiana’s address two connected needs: giving students an introduction to cybersecurity and helping them understand where continued learning could lead. For students, that connection gives classroom assignments a larger purpose. Investigating a security weakness today can be a first step toward learning how to protect a hospital, secure a business, or defend the country.
