Veteran Talent Source, Powered by Findem, Named a 2026 Top HR Product of the Year by HR Executive

Expert-labeled data translates military experience into civilian skills, giving employers trusted intelligence to identify and engage qualified veterans, transitioning service members and military spouses

REDWOOD CITY, Calif., Sept. 15, 2026 /PRNewswire/ — Findem, the AI platform for talent outcomes, announced that Veteran Talent Source has been named a Top HR Product by HR Executive, one of only 14 solutions to earn the designation for 2026.

Hosted by HR Executive and HR Tech, the annual Top HR Products competition aims to uncover the most impactful and forward-thinking technologies introduced into the market over the last year. Each submission is reviewed by a panel of esteemed judges and then assessed for innovation, functionality, ease of use and value to HR organizations. After a rigorous evaluation and live product demonstration, Veteran Talent Source was recognized as a Top HR Product of 2026.

Why military talent gets overlooked
Military experience rarely maps neatly to civilian job titles, leaving veterans, transitioning service members and military spouses overlooked by resume and keyword-based searches. Employers often lack the specialized military knowledge to recognize how service members’ roles, training and experience translate into civilian skills, keeping an underutilized talent pool hidden in plain sight and qualified candidates from opportunities that match their capabilities.

How Veteran Talent Source works
Veteran Talent Source is a recruiting and sourcing solution developed by Findem and RecruitMilitary, the most comprehensive firm for employers to connect with job-seeking veterans, transitioning military service members and spouses. Built on Findem’s proprietary data foundation, Veteran Talent Source accurately translates military roles, training and experience into civilian skills and creates dynamic profiles that reveal each candidate’s full experience, career trajectory and potential beyond a resume. Veteran-specific search, AI matching and automated outreach then help recruiters identify and engage qualified talent faster, without requiring specialized military knowledge.

At William & Mary’s Mason School of Business, for example, Veteran Talent Source uncovered a potential pipeline of 26,000 people and enabled the team to validate a major talent-market decision in 15 minutes.

“Veterans are trained to lead, adapt and solve complex problems, yet hiring systems often reduce that experience to job titles recruiters don’t recognize,” said Hari Kolam, CEO and co-founder of Findem. “RecruitMilitary has spent decades earning trust in the military community. By pairing that expertise with Findem’s data and AI, we can help employers see the value that has been there all along and create more equitable paths to meaningful careers for those who have served and their families.”

Jill Barth, returning judge and HR Tech Editor for HR Executive, shared, “Something that stood out to the judges this year was the variety of ways HR tech is evolving to meet the realities of today’s workplace. The 2026 Top HR Product winners go beyond innovation for innovation’s sake – they are turning new capabilities into practical solutions for both HR teams and their people.”

Findem will be honored on Monday, October 19, during the HR Icons Awards Dinner at Mandalay Bay in Las Vegas, the night before HR Tech 2026. Those attending the conference will have the opportunity to see the award-winning Veteran Talent Source in action by visiting Booth No. 6116 during expo hours Tuesday, October 20 to Thursday, October 22.

GATINEAU, QC, Sept. 16, 2026 /CNW/ — Today, the CRTC is improving the Broadband Fund to help protect Canadians from Internet and cellphone service outages.

Through the Broadband Fund, the CRTC contributes to a broad effort by federal, provincial, and territorial governments to connect underserved rural, remote, and Indigenous communities across Canada. To date, the CRTC has helped improve high-speed Internet and cellphone services in more than 320 communities — including 135 Indigenous communities — connecting essential institutions such as schools, health care facilities, and community centres.

Outages can have harmful effects on people, especially when they cannot connect to emergency services in times of need. Following a broad public consultation, the Broadband Fund will now support projects that reduce the risk and impact of outages. These projects will help make Internet and cellphone services more reliable, including during severe weather and other emergencies.

Today’s decision is part of the CRTC’s ongoing work to improve the Broadband Fund and make it faster and easier to get Canadians connected to reliable Internet and cellphone services.

FlexXray Releases Third Annual Benchmark Report on Foreign Material Contamination in Food Manufacturing

Published

By

ARLINGTON, Texas, Sept. 16, 2026 /PRNewswire/ — FlexXray, the leader in foreign material inspection services for the food industry, today announced the release of the 2026 Foreign Material Contamination in Food Benchmark Report. Now in its third year, the report is based on survey responses from more than 170 food safety and manufacturing professionals across North America, offering an ongoing, data-driven look into how the industry identifies, manages, and protects against foreign material contamination in their products.

This year’s findings point to a widening gap between what food manufacturers are most likely to encounter and what their detection equipment is built to catch. Key findings include:

A shift in the contamination profile — Plastic has overtaken metal as the most frequently reported contaminant, cited by 37% of respondentsInternal response remains the default — 63% of producers still rely on in-house resources to manage a foreign material eventInvestment cooling, not closing the gap — The share of producers planning to increase detection investment fell from roughly 70% in 2025 to 57% in 2026, while confidence that in-line equipment catches all foreign material has remained flat

“For three years now, this report has given food safety and manufacturing leaders real industry data to benchmark their own programs against,” said Kurt Westmoreland, Chief Commercial Officer. “This year’s findings cover how often facilities are dealing with foreign material events, how confident they are in their detection equipment, how they’re investing, and how they respond when an event happens — giving teams a clear picture of where they stand relative to the rest of the industry.”

Advanced and Connected Detection
The new smoke, CO and combo alarms combine advanced detection technology with compatibility across the First Alert portfolio to help create a more connected home safety system. Every alarm features Precision Detection™ advanced sensing technology, designed to provide earlier warning of fires in modern homes, where contemporary building materials and furnishings can burn hotter and spread faster. It helps reduce nuisance alarms from cooking smoke and steam, delivering more reliable detection and greater confidence in everyday use.

Compatible hardwired models are designed for backward compatibility and interconnection with select legacy First Alert installations, enabling easier installation and replacement without additional adapters. The new lineup includes hardwired, battery-powered and 10-year sealed battery smoke, CO and combo alarm models starting at $29.99 (U.S. MSRP). Find a U.S. or Canadian retailer at FirstAlert.com.

The National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) recommends smoke alarms in every bedroom, outside sleeping areas and on every level of the home, including the basement. Families are encouraged to take simple steps to strengthen home safety, from maintaining working smoke and CO alarms and keeping fire extinguishers on hand to creating and practicing a family exit plan.
