WaterField Designs Introduces SteamPack, a Steam Deck Case for a Full Setup

Published

on

Built for Steam Deck owners who travel with more than just the handheld, the structured case organizes the console, dock, two Steam Controllers and supporting gear for big-screen gaming away from home. Handcrafted in San Francisco, the SteamPack combines full-grain leather with WaterField’s clean, understated approach to gaming gear.

SAN FRANCISCO, Sept. 15, 2026 /PRNewswire/ — WaterField Designs today introduced the SteamPack, a structured Steam Deck case designed to solve a portability gap: The handheld travels easily, but the dock, controllers, power brick and cables that turn it into a full gaming setup do not. The SteamPack brings those components together in dedicated storage, making the complete setup easier to take to a hotel, friend’s home or other destination.

The SteamPack scales up WaterField’s SwitchPack for Nintendo Switch concept for the larger Steam Deck ecosystem. Rather than pare down a home setup for travel, gamers can bring the hardware and accessories that turn solo handheld play into a big-screen session on a hotel TV, a friend’s monitor or whatever display is waiting at the destination.

“The Steam Deck is easy to carry, but the accessories add up quickly,” said Gary Waterfield, company founder. “We wanted the SteamPack to make the whole setup feel portable, with a place for the Deck, dock, controllers and smaller pieces so it all arrives organized and ready to use.”

The Steam Deck rests in a plush-lined compartment, with an Ultrasuede® liner on the console-facing side to protect the screen and double as a built-in screen cleaner. Two plush pockets hold Steam Controllers separately, while a custom-sized padded pocket between the console and controllers fits the power brick and HDMI cord. Separating these larger components helps prevent them from shifting against one another in transit.

The Steam Deck Dock has its own compartment beneath a full-grain leather flap with magnetic closure, while a rear zippered mesh pocket keeps Steam Controller Pucks and microSD cards contained and easy to find. Full-grain leather wraps the bottom and sides for added protection. A stitched and riveted leather-wrapped handle supports hand carry, waterproof YKK zippers provide weather-resistance, and D-ring attachment points accommodate an optional removable Sling Strap.

New Medicare and Medicaid GLP-1 Programs Spotlight Lifestyle Support as Menu-Order AI Launches Daily GLP-1 Habit Tracker, Helping Users Stay on Track

Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services began its Medicare GLP-1 Bridge on July 1, 2026, giving eligible Medicare Part D beneficiaries access to certain GLP-1 drugs, and its BALANCE model — Better Approaches to Lifestyle, Nutrition for Comprehensive health — pairs access to GLP-1 medications with healthy lifestyle interventions for people with Medicaid. The World Health Organization’s 1st global guideline released December 2025, recommended pairing medication with behavior support.

BOSTON, Sept. 14, 2026 /PRNewswire/ — Menu-Order AI today announced Daily GLP-1 Habits, a new feature created in conjunction with Founding Medical Advisor Dr. Leigh-Anne Dale. The addition extends Menu-Order AI from restaurant decisions into daily tracking — helping users choose what to order, log meals and macros, monitor steps and document their daily habits.

The launch comes as federal coverage of GLP-1 medications widens alongside a push for lifestyle support. The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services began its Medicare GLP-1 Bridge on July 1, 2026, giving eligible Medicare Part D beneficiaries access to certain GLP-1 drugs, and its BALANCE model. In its first global guideline on GLP-1 therapies, issued December 2025, The World Health Organization recommended pairing the medications with a healthy diet, physical activity and structured behavioral support.

A growing number of health plans now require patients to participate in — and document — a lifestyle or behavior-change program before or alongside GLP-1 coverage. Insurers and pharmacy benefit managers commonly cite missing documentation of prior lifestyle intervention as a reason coverage requests are denied. Menu-Order AI helps GLP-1 patients participate in and document the daily nutrition, movement, and behavior changes that may be required as part of insurer-supported weight-management care.

With Menu-Order AI, users scan a restaurant menu and get three personalized options that fit their goals — higher-protein, lower-carbohydrate picks. They can log what they eat, track meals and macros through the day and, on iOS, connect with Apple Health to track their steps.

Daily GLP-1 Habits helps patients document their nutrition, movement, mindful-eating and medicationsupport habits. Patients can generate a monthly participation report to share with their healthcare provider. The report stays on the patient’s phone — Menu-Order AI does not send, store or transmit it.

“A prescription is only one part of the GLP-1 journey,” said Melissa Butler, Founder & CEO of Menu-Order AI. “Working with Dr. Dale, we created Daily GLP-1 Habits to help patients stay engaged and give healthcare providers a clearer picture of what is happening between visits.”

Daily GLP-1 Habits provides patient-reported documentation. It does not certify compliance, guarantee insurance coverage or replace an insurer-required or clinician-directed lifestyle program.

Spark Ring Launches on Kickstarter: AI Smart Ring That Captures Ideas Instantly

Published

The world’s first AI‑native smart ring that lets you double‑tap, speak, and save your thoughts is now live on Kickstarter.

SAN FRANCISCO, Sept. 14, 2026 /PRNewswire/ — Spark Ring today announced the upcoming launch of its AI‑powered smart ring on Kickstarter. Designed with one guiding principle: “the fastest way to capture a thought should not require a screen.”  Spark Ring transforms spontaneous ideas into organized notes, tasks, and reminders without interrupting your daily flow.

Voice capture hardware has found its first solid market in meetings. Card-style and clip-style recorders have strong adoption among professionals who need a transcript of a scheduled conversation, and that use case is now well served.

But ideas do not wait for meetings. Ideas can arrive while walking the dog, holding a coffee on the subway, driving to work, cooking dinner, shopping for groceries, or heading out for an evening jog with headphones on. In those moments, reaching for a phone can be more effort than capturing the thought itself. You have to pick it up, unlock it, find the right app, and start typing, and by the company’s own measure, it takes around twelve seconds or more, giving the idea plenty of time to disappear.

A New Way to Capture Ideas:

Worn on the finger and activated with a simple double-tap, Spark Ring gives users a faster way to capture their thoughts. It records speech almost instantly and sends it to a paired phone, where the app transcribes it and organizes it as a note, reminder, or drafted message. Instead of reaching for a screen, users can simply speak, whether they are walking to the car, holding a child, rushing through an airport, or in the middle of an idea they do not want to lose.

Spark Ring is designed to work as a hands-free way to interact with your phone, especially in the moments when using a screen is inconvenient.

Designed for Everyday Use:

Designed to be worn all day, Spark Ring is crafted from zirconia ceramic and weighs just 2.8 grams, with a slim profile under 8 mm wide. Its IP68 rating makes it waterproof, while a noise-reducing microphone captures speech from up to 3–5 meters away. Haptic feedback and LED signals confirm when a recording has been captured, so users can stay focused without checking their phone.

The ring offers up to eight hours of continuous recording, up to a week of standby time, and a full charge in just 30 minutes. It connects to both iOS and Android devices through BLE 5.0 and NFC, with automatic syncing when the phone reconnects.

Privacy is built into the experience. Transcription takes place locally on the paired phone, so recorded audio does not need to leave the device. Spark Ring describes this approach as “Privacy by Design,” with its product positioning aligned with GDPR, the EU AI Act, and CCPA/CPRA.

Quote from Founder:

“Productivity tools should feel natural, not screen‑driven,” said Charley Tang, Founder and CEO of Spark Ring. “Our mission is to move intent to action, so that a spoken thought lands somewhere useful without a screen in between.”

About Spark Ring:

Spark Ring builds AI‑powered wearable hardware for capturing and acting on spoken input. The company showcased the ring at CES 2026 and is focused on North America and Europe as primary markets. Its roadmap moves from voice‑driven task capture toward a contextual assistant that integrates across existing tools. Learn more at www.sparkring.ai.

Ho Chi Minh City Expands Its Development Zones and Strengthens Local Diplomatic Connectivity

Published

on

By

HO CHI MINH CITY, Vietnam, Sept. 14, 2026 /PRNewswire/ — Ho Chi Minh City is affirming its position as a gateway for connecting global resources and strengthening local diplomacy through the successful organization of the 3rd Ho Chi Minh City Friendship Dialogue (FD 2026), held from September 10 to 12 in Vung Tau Ward.

City Diplomacy Initiatives Gain Traction in the International Community

Under the theme “City Diplomacy: A Driving Force for Innovation and Sustainable Development,” this year’s event brings together leaders from numerous foreign localities and international organizations to share strategic perspectives on local diplomacy and a proactive approach to international integration. At the Mayors’ Conference, participants discussed and reached consensus on leveraging local diplomacy to attract technological resources and talent, with a view to building a modern urban ecosystem and promoting sustainable growth. The participating localities also proposed a range of solutions to encourage businesses to invest in research and development (R&D), commercialize innovation outcomes, and strengthen the role of local governments in advancing port cooperation and meeting next-generation sustainability standards.

One notable outcome was the participants’ support for an initiative to study a city-level multilateral cooperation mechanism on seaports, with the aim of creating a regular forum for exchanging experience, sharing data, expanding connections and coordination among ports, as well as broadening markets and connecting supply chains to meet next-generation sustainability standards.

A New Profile for a City with Deep-Water Seaports

Since July 1, 2025, following its merger with Binh Duong and Ba Ria – Vung Tau, Ho Chi Minh City has entered a new stage of development, covering more than 6,770 km² and home to a population of over 14 million. The expanded City brings together three of Viet Nam’s most dynamic growth poles: a financial, commercial, services, science and technology hub in the core urban area; a high-tech industrial manufacturing base in the Binh Duong area; and a deep-water port system, marine economy, energy sector and coastal tourism in the Vung Tau area. This expanded development space is reinforced by an important legal framework, including the Law on Urban Development adopted by the National Assembly on August 24, 2026, and Politburo Resolution No. 09-NQ/TW dated May 19, 2026, on the building and development of Ho Chi Minh City in the new era, which sets targets for GRDP per capita of USD 14,000 by 2030 and USD 75,000 by 2045.

Local diplomacy serves as an important channel for the City to translate this development potential into tangible resources: connecting with international financial centers and attracting experts and high-tech capital to the core urban area; promoting investment, technology transfer and supply-chain expansion for the Binh Duong industrial area; and creating a forum for multilateral port cooperation, sharing experience in green port governance and connecting the Vung Tau marine economic area with global logistics chains.

Ho Chi Minh City currently maintains an extensive network of local-level external relations, with friendship and cooperation ties with 88 foreign localities and nearly 20 international organizations and partners across the continents. The City is also a major destination for foreign direct investment, with more than 20,000 active FDI projects, making an important contribution to technology capital flows and national development resources. In the first six months of 2026, the City’s economy reached nearly USD 60 billion, its highest level in the past 10 years, contributing nearly 25% of national GDP and more than 30% of total state budget revenue.

Strategic infrastructure of regional significance continues to reinforce the City’s development position. The Cai Mep – Thi Vai port cluster is currently the largest deep-water seaport complex in southern Viet Nam and ranks 19th globally in its capacity to accommodate mainline vessels. With an average depth of 14 meters, it can receive vessels of up to 250,000 DWT. In addition, Phu My 3 Specialized Industrial Park – a representative model of cooperation between the Governments of Viet Nam and Japan – is being developed along ecological and industrial-symbiosis principles, meeting stringent ESG and sustainable-development standards. These strategic advantages are generating new momentum, strengthening the City’s internal capacity and enhancing its ability to attract high-tech and green-industry resources for future development.

The successful organization of the FD 2026 not only demonstrates the City’s capacity for modern urban governance and opens a direct channel for attracting high-quality investment, green technologies and advanced logistics, but also contributes to Viet Nam a model of effective local diplomacy. It reflects the City’s pioneering role in the coordinated and effective implementation of the country’s foreign policy at the local level, in line with the principle that foreign affairs are a key and regular task; thereby enhancing Viet Nam’s international standing and helping advance the goal of making the country a reliable link in global value chains.
