Cylus Launches Cylus.ai at InnoTrans 2026 and Welcomes Three Global Rail and Transit Leaders to its Advisory Board

Published

Cylus.ai brings agentic intelligence to rail cybersecurity, working on top of the security tools rail operators already use. Former U.S. FTA Administrator Nuria Fernández, former European Union Agency for Railways Executive Director Josef Doppelbauer, and former VIA Rail President & CEO Mario Péloquin join the Cylus Advisory Board.

BERLIN, Sep 16, 2026 /PRNewswire/ — Cylus, the global leader in rail cybersecurity, today launched Cylus.ai and announced the appointment of three of the rail and transit industry’s most respected leaders to its Advisory Board: Nuria Fernández, Josef Doppelbauer, and Mario Péloquin.

Cylus.ai is an intelligence layer for rail cybersecurity. It brings rail-specific security expertise to the security teams defending rail networks, working on top of the tools operators already use to help them make sense of what they are seeing and decide how to respond, with a person always in control. Cylus.ai is built to close a widening gap: the systems that keep trains moving are more connected than ever, attackers are using AI to move faster than defenders can, and the pool of security professionals who truly understand rail remains small while regulatory pressure keeps rising. It puts rail expertise within reach of every team responsible for protecting these networks, without replacing the tools they already rely on.

Cylus.ai is built to work on top of the security stack an operator already runs, whatever that stack is. It integrates most deeply with CylusOne, Cylus’s flagship platform, which gives rail operators visibility into their operational networks and the threats against them. Cylus.ai turns that visibility into understanding and action. Together they cover the full picture, from seeing what is happening on the network to knowing what to do about it.

Amir Levintal, CEO and Co-Founder, Cylus:
“CylusOne gave the rail industry a level of visibility into its networks it never had before. Cylus.ai is the natural next step: turning that visibility into understanding and action, with rail expertise built in and a person always in the loop. Attackers are already using AI to work faster than the teams defending rail can respond, and rail cannot answer that with generic security tooling. Having leaders of the caliber of Nuria, Josef, and Mario join our Advisory Board tells us we are building what the industry actually needs.”

Meet the team in Berlin

Cylus’s rail cybersecurity experts will be on-site throughout InnoTrans 2026, in Hall 6.1, Booth #225, for live demonstrations of CylusOne and Cylus.ai. Book a meeting with us at https://cylus.com/innotrans2026.

Three global rail and transit leaders join the Cylus Advisory Board

Nuria Fernández brings more than 35 years of experience leading some of the world’s busiest transit systems. She served as Administrator of the U.S. Federal Transit Administration (FTA), overseeing the federal programs that fund and shape public transit. Earlier in her career, she was General Manager and CEO of the Santa Clara Valley Transportation Authority (VTA), Chief Operating Officer of the New York Metropolitan Transportation Authority (MTA), and held senior design-and-construction leadership roles at the Chicago Transit Authority (CTA) and the Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority (WMATA). Her perspective spans policy, operations, and capital delivery at national scale. Nuria Fernández, former Administrator, U.S. Federal Transit Administration: “In more than three decades running transit systems, I learned that safety and reliability depend on the systems riders never see. Those systems are now more connected, and more exposed, than ever. What drew me to Cylus is that they understand rail as it actually operates, not as a generic network. I am glad to help them put that expertise in the hands of the operators who need it.”

Josef Doppelbauer served as Executive Director of the European Union Agency for Railways (ERA), where he led the agency as it became the EU authority for vehicle authorisation, safety certification, and ERTMS trackside approval. He brings more than 35 years of experience in railway technology, including signalling and control-command systems, earlier as Chief Technical Officer at Bombardier Transportation, and as chairman of the European Rail Research Advisory Council (ERRAC) and of the Shift2Rail steering committee. He offers a European regulatory and standards perspective to the board.
Josef Doppelbauer, former Executive Director, European Union Agency for Railways: “Railway users expect good quality of service with uncompromised safety and security, and that now means protecting the railway system from cyber-attacks as well. Interoperability and safety are the foundation of European rail, and cybersecurity is inseparable from both. To be effective against these threats we need a European approach, built in cooperation with the sector rather than imposed on it. Cylus has built its technology around how railways are actually run and regulated, and I look forward to helping shape what comes next.”

Mario Péloquin served as President and Chief Executive Officer of VIA Rail Canada, and brings close to 40 years of experience across the transportation and rail industry. Before leading VIA Rail, he held senior roles spanning rail safety, operations, and major project delivery, including positions with Siemens Mobility, Thales, AECOM, and the New York MTA. He brings deep operator and infrastructure-delivery experience to the board.
Mario Péloquin, former President and CEO, VIA Rail Canada, and Cylus Advisory Board member: “Passenger rail is modernizing fast, and every new connection we add to improve service also has to be protected. Operators cannot be expected to become cybersecurity experts overnight. Cylus meets them where they are, with tools that speak the language of rail. I am pleased to support that mission on the Advisory Board.”

Echo Global Logistics Named One of Just 10 Non-Asset-Based 3PLs Nationwide to Earn CTPAT Validation

Echo is among the first few providers admitted into U.S. Customs and Border Protection’s CTPAT program, adding a new layer of supply chain security to its brokerage model

CHICAGO, Sept. 16, 2026 /PRNewswire/ — Echo Global Logistics, Inc. (“Echo”), a leading provider of technology-enabled transportation and supply chain management services, has achieved Validated status in U.S. Customs and Border Protection’s (CBP) Customs-Trade Partnership Against Terrorism (CTPAT) program, one of only 10 non-asset-based 3PLs selected nationwide. Authorized by the CTPAT Pilot Program Act of 2023, the pilot marks the first time CBP has opened CTPAT — previously reserved for asset-based carriers, importers, and customs brokers — to non-asset-based freight brokers. Following a comprehensive review, CBP confirmed that Echo’s supply chain security program meets CTPAT’s security criteria.

“CTPAT has historically focused on asset-based transportation providers, so Echo’s selection as one of the first non-asset-based 3PLs represents an important milestone for our company and our industry,” said Troy Ryley, President of Echo’s Mexico division. “In addition to our extensive network of CTPAT-certified carriers, Validation adds another layer of security to Echo’s truck brokerage model, giving our clients added confidence that security is embedded throughout their supply chain — even though Echo, like most freight brokers, has traditionally operated a non-asset-based model.”

For shippers, CTPAT-validated partners are recognized by CBP as lower-risk, which can translate to fewer cargo exams and more predictable transit times across the border. Echo maintains an extensive network of carrier partners, including CTPAT-certified carriers, while applying its own validated security processes to the management and protection of freight — creating a layered security approach that now extends from the carrier to the broker itself.

Echo provides clients with cross-border, customs brokerage, and intra-Mexico solutions, creating a comprehensive Mexico offering for all supply chain needs. Operating within an intricate cross-border trade environment, additional security protocols support the protection of freight. Echo’s security strategy and tools are aligned with CTPAT criteria, supporting a more secure and seamless transportation process across the region. “For our clients and business partners, this achievement provides added confidence that freight is supported by a logistics provider whose security program has been independently validated by CBP,” said Gabriel Guajardo, Director, Southern Border at Echo. “Combined with our extensive network of CTPAT carriers, Validation status strengthens our layered approach to cargo security and supply chain risk management, helping us deliver secure and reliable transportation solutions across North America.”
