First Narrative Coherence Benchmark Objectively Scores 150 B2B Technology Company Stories

Published

on

B2B companies that make a case and prove it grow at nearly triple the rate

BAINBRIDGE ISLAND, Wash., Sept. 16, 2026 /PRNewswire/ — Today, kompeld released the Narrative Coherence Benchmark, the objective narrative measurement report for B2B technology companies. The key findings: Half of B2B technology companies score average or below on the benchmark’s 5-point coherence scale and company growth increases with coherence.

Historically, evaluating company stories relied on subjective opinions, creative instincts or brand recall surveys. The Narrative Coherence Benchmark replaces that guesswork with a proprietary, componentized scoring system built on decades of operating experience and eight calibrated rubric revisions. The benchmark evaluates 150 B2B technology company narratives across six components in two sections. Narrative Premise: the case a company makes for change. Narrative Resolution: the company solution and the proof behind it. Combining narrative coherence scores with 12-month headcount growth (a publicly available proxy for revenue growth), the benchmark establishes a direct correlation between narrative coherence and company growth.

The data exposes a wide execution gap across the industry. 75% (112 of 150) of companies coherently describe what their product does, but 57% (86 of 150) make a weak case for why a buyer should care.

H2 2026 benchmark report highlights:

High score companies grew faster: Companies with a 4.0 (out of 5) Narrative Coherence Score experienced a median 12-month headcount growth rate of 26%. Companies with a 2.5 experienced a median growth rate of -1%.

A strong case pays off when proven: Companies that make a strong case and prove it grew at a median rate of 38.5%. Those with a strong, but unproven case grew at 14.5%. And strong proof behind a weak case grew at 6%.

No company has mastered narrative. No company scores above 4.0 on the benchmark’s 5-point scale. Half the market scores 3.0 or below and fewer than 15% reach 4.0.

“B2B companies have historically treated narrative as a subjective, creative exercise. This benchmark demonstrates that narrative doesn’t have to be a matter of taste. It’s a measurable, revenue-driving asset,” said Ryan Morel, CEO of kompeld. “And it confirms what operators have seen in the field for decades: companies that structure narrative around buyer needs instead of themselves then back it with proof, grow faster.”

As audiences expand and purchases come under more scrutiny, B2B narrative coherence matters more than ever. Buying committees now contain up to 16 people, according to Gartner, and 94% of business buyers use AI during the purchase process, according to Forrester’s The State Of Business Buying, 2026. Every buyer and AI engine interprets the same public story, and narrative gaps become buying committee disagreements. Gartner’s 2026 Tech Buying Behavior Study finds 68% of buying teams experience unhealthy conflict, which leads to three times more project delays and seven times more purchase regret.

“Executive teams routinely pour capital into go-to-market efforts only to find out their underlying story is a list of generic problems and undifferentiated features. Until now, they had no way to diagnose exactly where that breaks down,” said Mike Galgon, co-founder of aQuantive and Pioneer Square Labs and CEO of Global Partnerships. “Having known and worked with the kompeld team for over 20 years, I’ve seen firsthand how thoroughly they engineer narrative. This rigorous, quantitative approach is exactly what the B2B market has been missing.”

The Narrative Coherence Benchmark updates regularly and scores will move as new companies join, existing companies update and kompeld refines its scoring rubrics. Review the full H2 2026 Narrative Coherence Benchmark here.

GATINEAU, QC, Sept. 16, 2026 /CNW/ — Today, the CRTC is improving the Broadband Fund to help protect Canadians from Internet and cellphone service outages.

Through the Broadband Fund, the CRTC contributes to a broad effort by federal, provincial, and territorial governments to connect underserved rural, remote, and Indigenous communities across Canada. To date, the CRTC has helped improve high-speed Internet and cellphone services in more than 320 communities — including 135 Indigenous communities — connecting essential institutions such as schools, health care facilities, and community centres.

Outages can have harmful effects on people, especially when they cannot connect to emergency services in times of need. Following a broad public consultation, the Broadband Fund will now support projects that reduce the risk and impact of outages. These projects will help make Internet and cellphone services more reliable, including during severe weather and other emergencies.

Today’s decision is part of the CRTC’s ongoing work to improve the Broadband Fund and make it faster and easier to get Canadians connected to reliable Internet and cellphone services.

FlexXray Releases Third Annual Benchmark Report on Foreign Material Contamination in Food Manufacturing

Published

By

ARLINGTON, Texas, Sept. 16, 2026 /PRNewswire/ — FlexXray, the leader in foreign material inspection services for the food industry, today announced the release of the 2026 Foreign Material Contamination in Food Benchmark Report. Now in its third year, the report is based on survey responses from more than 170 food safety and manufacturing professionals across North America, offering an ongoing, data-driven look into how the industry identifies, manages, and protects against foreign material contamination in their products.

This year’s findings point to a widening gap between what food manufacturers are most likely to encounter and what their detection equipment is built to catch. Key findings include:

A shift in the contamination profile — Plastic has overtaken metal as the most frequently reported contaminant, cited by 37% of respondentsInternal response remains the default — 63% of producers still rely on in-house resources to manage a foreign material eventInvestment cooling, not closing the gap — The share of producers planning to increase detection investment fell from roughly 70% in 2025 to 57% in 2026, while confidence that in-line equipment catches all foreign material has remained flat

“For three years now, this report has given food safety and manufacturing leaders real industry data to benchmark their own programs against,” said Kurt Westmoreland, Chief Commercial Officer. “This year’s findings cover how often facilities are dealing with foreign material events, how confident they are in their detection equipment, how they’re investing, and how they respond when an event happens — giving teams a clear picture of where they stand relative to the rest of the industry.”
