Best UV Protection Sunglasses (2026): Quay Highlighted Among Stylish Options for Everyday Sun Protection by Expert Consumers

Published

on

NEW YORK, Sept. 21, 2026 /PRNewswire/ — Expert Consumers has recognized Quay for its approach to everyday sunglasses that combines 100% UV protection with fashion-focused frame designs. The recognition comes as consumers place greater emphasis on eyewear that can provide reliable sun protection without sacrificing style, comfort, or affordability.

Best UV Protection Sunglasses

Quay – stylish sunglasses with 100% UVA and UVB protection, with multiple sizes, shapes, and lens options for a wide variety of faces.

The search for the best UV protection sunglasses often begins with lens performance. However, frame design, fit, lens technology, and price can also influence the buying decision. Quay’s current sunglasses collection addresses these considerations with a broad selection of frame shapes, lens options, and price points.

Strong UV Protection Without Sacrificing Style

UV protection remains one of the most important factors when selecting sunglasses. Quay states that its sunglasses provide 100% UV protection, including UVA and UVB protection across all of its eyewear, including optical and bluelight. The brand offers styles ranging from aviators and cat-eye frames to square, round, oversized, and shield silhouettes.

The distinction between UV protection and lens appearance is important. Darker lenses do not automatically provide greater UV protection. Lens color primarily affects visible light, while UV protection depends on the lens material or protective technology.

Polarized lenses such as the In the City, Soundcheck and Flip Side models represent another consideration. Quay offers polarized options designed to reduce glare, which can be useful around reflective surfaces and during bright outdoor activities. Polarization and UV protection serve different functions, so consumers should check both specifications when evaluating sunglasses.

Frame style can also influence how frequently sunglasses are worn. Quay’s collection includes understated designs alongside more prominent silhouettes, giving consumers the ability to prioritize personal style while maintaining UV protection.

100% UV Protection Sunglasses $80 and Under

Price is another practical consideration when searching for the best UV protection sunglasses. Effective UV protection does not necessarily require a high price, but shoppers should verify the protection specifications before purchasing.

Quay currently lists the Nightfall sunglasses at $80, and is available in multiple colors and finishes, including polarized options.

The Nightfall collection demonstrates how an $80 pair can combine a fashion-oriented silhouette with practical lens features. Pricing and availability can change, so current product listings should be checked before purchase.

For consumers shopping within this budget, several factors can help determine whether a pair is suitable for everyday use:

UV protection: Look for an explicit 100% UVA/UVB or equivalent UV protection specification.Fit: Frames should sit securely without creating excessive pressure around the temples or nose.Lens coverage: Larger designs can provide broader coverage around the eyes.Glare reduction: Polarized lenses can help reduce reflected glare in bright conditions.Durability: Materials and construction can influence how well sunglasses hold up to regular use.

This approach puts eye protection ahead of purely cosmetic considerations while still leaving room for personal style.

Can Clear Glasses Block UV Rays?

Clear lenses can provide UV protection. Lens transparency does not determine whether ultraviolet radiation is blocked.

The key consideration is the lens specification. A clear lens can be manufactured with UV-blocking properties, while a dark lens should not be assumed to provide UV protection simply because it appears darker. That said, all of Quay’s lenses are manufactured with UV blocking properties.

Current prescription models such as COULD NEVER RX and GAME OVER RX list 100% UVA/UVB protection as part of their lens options. The available prescription lenses include clear options, demonstrating that UV protection and visible lens tint are separate considerations.

For consumers wearing clear glasses outdoors, checking the manufacturer’s stated UV protection is more reliable than judging protection by the appearance of the lenses.

Clear eyewear also serves a different purpose from sunglasses. Even when clear lenses provide UV protection, sunglasses can reduce visible brightness and glare, which may make outdoor conditions more comfortable.

Choosing Sunglasses for Everyday Wear

The most useful sunglasses are often the ones that fit naturally into daily routines. Commuting, driving, walking, traveling, exercising, and spending time outdoors can all involve regular exposure to sunlight.

Quay’s range includes lightweight frame options and multiple shapes designed for different preferences. Some styles also feature adjustable nose pads, while polarized collections provide an option for consumers who frequently encounter glare.

Prescription wearers can also find selected Quay frames designed for prescription lenses. Current prescription sunglass options include different lens tints and lens materials, depending on the selected frame and prescription requirements.

Fit remains an important consideration. Frame measurements such as lens width, bridge width, temple length, and overall frame width can help consumers compare a new pair with glasses already worn comfortably.

Why Quay Is Gaining Attention in 2026

Expert Consumers’ recognition of Quay reflects a broader shift in how consumers evaluate sunglasses. Eye protection remains central, but modern shoppers also expect eyewear to complement personal style and everyday routines.

Quay’s current collection combines 100% UV protection with a wide selection of frame shapes and lens treatments. The brand also offers options across different price points, including the currently listed Nightfall style for shoppers seeking 100% UV protection within an $80 budget.

For consumers researching the best UV protection sunglasses, the fundamentals remain straightforward: verify UV protection, consider fit and coverage, evaluate lens features such as polarization, and select a frame that is comfortable enough for regular use.

Quay’s approach demonstrates that practical sun protection and contemporary eyewear design can coexist, giving consumers more flexibility when selecting sunglasses for everyday outdoor wear in 2026.

Exclusive agreement paves the way for CME FSPI baseball futures

CHICAGO, Sept. 21, 2026 /PRNewswire/ — FutureSports, the independent index administrator transforming professional and college sports statistics into rules-based, benchmark financial indexes, today announced an agreement with Major League Baseball (MLB) to create first-of-their-kind indexes on baseball team performance. Under the agreement, MLB will provide FutureSports with Official League Data that the company will use to create new broad-based CME FutureSports Performance Indexes (FSPI) on each of the 30 MLB clubs.

The agreement paves the way for CME Group to list weekly, monthly and quarterly cash-settled futures contracts, pending regulatory review, based on the CME FSPI MLB benchmarks.

CME FSPI are designed to systematically measure the cumulative performance of teams in prominent sports leagues. The play-by-play benchmark indexes will provide hedging vehicles and investment opportunities.

Rhett Dinsdale, Co-Founder of FutureSports, said: “We’re thrilled to collaborate with MLB to create indexes on America’s beloved sport. The business of baseball has grown significantly over the years, and we aim to provide a new way for the industry participants to hedge their capital exposures.”

FutureSports and CME Group are committed to maintaining the highest standards of integrity and transparency. CME FSPI are administered using transparent, rules-based methodologies derived from Official League Data, helping ensure that index values are determined objectively and independently. FutureSports and CME Group will work with MLB on integrity matters related to CME FSPI baseball futures contracts, establishing a framework to share information in a manner consistent with applicable law. MLB will have no involvement in the determination, calculation or governance of the indexes, which are the purview of FutureSports.

FutureSports and the National Hockey League (NHL) previously announced the creation of CME FSPI based on hockey team performance, and CME Group intends to launch futures contracts on the indexes on Sept. 28, pending regulatory review.

Discover how new technologies, tools, and approaches are addressing some of the greatest challenges facing society today.

JUPITER, Fla., Sept. 21, 2026 /PRNewswire/ — An upcoming episode of Advancements with Ted Danson is scheduled to broadcast on Saturday, September 26, 2026, at 8:00 pm ET. Tune in to Bloomberg Television to watch.

Across four featured segments, the program examines how organizations are responding to growing demands for infrastructure, sustainability, continuous healthcare, and more adaptable industrial systems. The episode opens with a look at the evolution of construction and megaproject delivery. As demand grows for semiconductor fabrication facilities, clean energy projects, advanced manufacturing, transportation, and other infrastructure, the construction industry faces pressure to deliver projects faster and at greater scale. Watch to discover how artificial intelligence, automation, project data, and other technologies are being applied to the construction industry and are empowering a new generation of skilled craft professionals, engineers, and project managers.

The program then turns to the challenge of making food packaging more recyclable. Packaging represents roughly one-third of municipal solid waste in the United States, while food packaging presents its own challenges, because of contamination, complex materials, and recycling systems that are not always equipped to process them. The segment examines how packaging design can influence recyclability. Industry experts explore approaches involving recyclable P.E.T. packaging, pad-less tray designs, and clearer consumer disposal information designed to support better recycling outcomes and a more circular materials economy.

Healthcare is the focus of the third segment, which examines the movement from episodic care toward more continuous care. While American healthcare provides highly advanced acute and specialty services, care is frequently organized around individual encounters, such as hospitalizations, physician visits, tests, and follow-ups. Learn about the clinical “white space” between those encounters and how remote monitoring, clinical intelligence, communication, and human decision-making can work together to provide greater visibility into a patient’s health journey. The segment will share how continuous specialty care can extend beyond traditional healthcare settings and into the home and will include patient stories illustrating the potential impact of earlier intervention and ongoing support.

The episode concludes with an examination of modernizing industrial control systems. Learn why the demands of AI, advanced analytics, and cybersecurity are changing what manufacturers need from their automation systems. The show will educate about the limitations of traditional closed control architectures, including vendor lock-in and interoperability challenges, as it introduces Open Process Automation (OPA) as an approach based upon open, standards-based architectures. Viewers will see how the technology can allow hardware and software from different suppliers to work together, giving manufacturers greater flexibility to upgrade and adapt their systems over time.

This episode examines how industries are adapting established systems to meet rapidly changing demands. From construction sites and food packaging facilities to patients’ homes and industrial plants, emerging technologies are being used alongside new operating models and human expertise to improve how complex systems function,” said Dustin Schwarz, programming director for the Advancements series.

Featured segments in this episode include Bechtel, Lucid Corp, Streamcare Group, and Collaborative Systems Integration (CSI).
