SINGAPORE, Sept. 22, 2026 /PRNewswire/ — Cohesity, the leader in AI and data security, today introduced Cohesity Agent Resilience. This new Cohesity Data Cloud capability will discover, protect, and recover the infrastructure behind enterprise AI agents. The company also outlined its vision for Autonomous Cyber Resilience, which uses agentic workflows to automate its five-step cyber resilience framework: protect data, identity, applications, and agents; help ensure recoverability in all scenarios; remediate cyber and AI threats; practice application recovery; and optimize data and AI risk posture. Cohesity also introduced the Cohesity AI Resilience Academy, beginning with a free course that helps organizations manage risk as AI systems move from advising people to taking action. Cohesity announced the new capability, vision, and academy today at Cohesity Catalyst.

Across the enterprise, AI agents are querying databases, updating workflows, and using privileged credentials, often without a person reviewing each action. Gartner® predicts “up to 40% of enterprise applications will include integrated task-specific agents by 2026, up from less than 5% today.1 Governance and observability tools can identify unexpected behavior, but they cannot restore data or systems after an agent has changed, corrupted, or deleted them. Cohesity Agent Resilience is designed to address that recovery gap.
New research findings from the fifth annual Cohesity Global Cyber Resilience Report further underscore the need to strengthen AI infrastructure resilience. Fifty-six percent of organizations said they were not well prepared to detect or contain unintended actions by AI agents and automated workflows. At the same time, 58% were not very confident in their ability to verify the integrity of AI models and related data following a cyberattack.
“Detection can tell you an AI agent went off course. It cannot undo the changes,” said Vasu Murthy, Chief Product Officer, Cohesity. “Cohesity Agent Resilience provides a precise recovery path for both the agents and the resources they impact. Our vision for Autonomous Cyber Resilience is to use agentic workflows to reduce manual work from response and recovery.”
Cohesity Agent Resilience Protects the Infrastructure Behind AI Agents
An AI agent’s behavior depends on several components, including agent memory, configuration, credentials, guardrails, and workflows. At launch, Cohesity Agent Resilience protects agent memory and configuration using the same snapshot architecture, immutable backups, and clean-room recovery that Cohesity customers already rely on to protect sensitive workloads and data across on-premises, cloud, and SaaS environments.
Cohesity Agent Resilience includes two core functions:
Protect agent state: Protect agent memory and configuration with point-in-time recovery capabilities that help teams restore agents to a known-good state following memory corruption, misconfiguration, or malicious activity.Protect what agents manage: Protect databases, file systems, and other services agents interact with, enabling precise recovery of affected resources when needed.
Agent topology provides teams with a unified view of each agent, including its memory stores, connected applications, databases, and supporting infrastructure. That makes it easier to understand agent dependencies, assess protection coverage, and identify the resources required to restore trusted operations during incidents.
“As AI agents take on more business-critical work, we need to think beyond monitoring and make sure we can recover when something goes wrong,” said Srikanth Kuntamukkala, CIS Global Lead for Partner Sales, Cognizant. “Being able to restore an agent’s state, and the data it may have changed, could give our teams a more practical way to manage that risk as we move agentic applications into production.”
At launch, Agent Resilience integrates with Amazon Bedrock. Support for additional agent platforms, including offerings from Microsoft and Google, is on the roadmap.
Cohesity Agent Resilience is available now to select customers, with general availability targeted for the end of the year.
A Path Toward Autonomous Cyber Resilience
Cohesity also outlined how agentic workflows could help operationalize its five-step cyber resilience framework. The aim is to move beyond manually configured, point-in-time plans toward a system that continuously discovers and protects data, validates recovery readiness, and adapts response and recovery plans as conditions change, with a human in the loop. As attackers increasingly use AI to move from initial compromise to operational disruption, resilience plans that rely on manual triage and sequential approvals may not keep pace.
From Stated Objectives to Automated Execution
In this model, teams would define objectives through Cohesity Copilot rather than manually configuring policies across applications. For example, administrators would be able to specify that all applications and data required to sustain critical business operations during a cyber incident must meet specified recovery time objectives (RTOs) and recovery point objectives (RPOs) and adhere to specified threat scanning and recovery testing requirements. Cohesity Data Cloud would then assess the resilience posture of those workloads, recommend appropriate protection policies, threat-scanning strategies, and recovery-rehearsal plans, and present those recommendations for approval before execution.
During a cyber incident, administrators can initiate automated response and recovery workflows to assess the scope of impact, identify indicators of attacker activity, and prepare an isolated recovery environment to accelerate investigation and recovery efforts.
Now Generally Available: Automated Protection for Newly Discovered Sensitive Data
As a step toward that model, Cohesity introduced enhancements to existing capabilities. Customers with Cohesity Data Cloud Enterprise Edition and Cohesity DSPM can now automate the protection of newly discovered sensitive data that is not already protected. Cohesity continuously discovers and classifies sensitive data, evaluates its protection status, and can trigger protection actions based on policy. Administrators can configure and manage these workflows directly or through Cohesity Copilot.
Built on Cohesity RecoveryAgent, Open to Customers’ AI Tools
The Autonomous Cyber Resilience model builds on Cohesity RecoveryAgent, which orchestrates key parts of incident response and recovery and helps security and IT teams work from the same plan. Cohesity Maestro, with expanded capabilities expected later in 2026, will connect Cohesity’s protection, response, and recovery capabilities to customers’ preferred AI tools, including Claude, ChatGPT, and Gemini, as well as Cohesity Helios, the company’s unified management console.
Cohesity plans to add more automation as the Autonomous Cyber Resilience vision moves toward commercial availability.
“Cyber resilience is not a one-time assessment. It requires teams to protect data, test recovery, detect threats, rehearse responses, and continually improve their risk posture,” said Murthy. “Agentic workflows can take on more of that routine work and help keep the plan current.”
Cohesity Launches AI Resilience Academy
The Cohesity AI Resilience Academy is a new learning path within Cohesity Academy. Its first course, Foundations of AI Resilience with Cohesity, starts with a simple distinction: AI assistants make recommendations; AI agents can make changes. The free, self-paced course takes 25 to 30 minutes and focuses on concepts and vocabulary rather than product configuration.
After completing the course, learners will be able to:
Define an AI agent and distinguish it from an AI assistant.Explain the additional risks introduced when AI moves from advising to acting.Identify two gaps in the AI lifecycle, one before an agent acts and one after.Describe, at a high level, how Cohesity Gaia Catalog addresses the upstream gap.Describe, at a high level, how Cohesity Agent Resilience addresses the downstream gap.
Cohesity Gaia Catalog and Agent Resilience are included to illustrate Cohesity’s broader architecture and product direction. Some capabilities discussed or shown may not yet be generally available.
Catalyst attendees will receive a direct enrollment link in the post-event follow-up and can begin the course immediately. The course will remain exclusive to attendees for approximately two weeks before appearing in the broader Cohesity Academy catalog.
Those who complete the course will earn a Credly badge titled “Foundations of AI Resilience with Cohesity,” which they can share on LinkedIn. The course will remain a free entry point into Cohesity Academy. Cohesity may offer more advanced AI Resilience courses for a fee over time.
Product Availability
Cohesity Agent Resilience is now available to select customers. Customers can contact their Cohesity account team for details. Automated protection for newly discovered sensitive data is now available to customers with Cohesity Data Cloud Enterprise Edition and Cohesity DSPM.

Poll finds surging demand for AI-based video encoding
Published
57 minutes agoon
September 22, 2026By
HANGZHOU, China, Sept. 21, 2026 /PRNewswire/ — Hikvision has developed Guanlan Encoding, a technology that uses AI to identify more and less information-rich areas in video images and encodes every frame accordingly.
To gauge the potential impact of the new technology, asmag.com and Hikvision have teamed up for a survey of asmag readers, entitled “AI encoding technology for video security,” and asked them about their experience with the “storage challenge” and where they see potential in their projects for AI-based encoding.
Storage pressure is real and growing
When asked “How significant a challenge is video storage cost or capacity in your business or projects?” a large number of respondents—38.2%—identified storage pressure as a “major challenge.” It was the second-most given answer among all respondents, trailing closely behind 43.2% who said storage is a “moderate” challenge. When asked “Has the storage challenge changed compared to 12 months ago?” the largest share of respondents—once again 43.2%—said it has “increased moderately.”
Guanlan Encoding—Hikvision’s solution to a growing pain point
Guanlan Encoding is built on the H.265 standard and integrates Hikvision’s Guanlan Large-Scale AI Model into continuous encoding workflows. Rather than compressing every part of a frame equally—the approach traditional codecs take—Guanlan Encoding identifies which parts of a scene matter most, such as people, vehicles and other moving objects, and allocates more detail to them. Static or low-motion background footage, by contrast, is compressed far more aggressively.
According to Hikvision, this combination of different compression rates in the same frame helps reduce storage needs by 30% to 50% on average without sacrificing details that matter for investigations and monitoring.
Guanlan is already gaining ground
Even though it was introduced so recently, over half of survey respondents expressed familiarity with Guanlan Encoding: 43.3% said they are “familiar with it” despite not yet having hands-on experience, while 8.3% said they are already using the technology.
Overall, the survey showed the severity of the storage challenge, but also that Hikvision is well positioned to offer a significant fix to the pain point. Guanlan Encoding plays a key role as it uses AI not to produce more data, but to reduce the burden of more data on storage infrastructure.

Serving Global Chinese Families With a Global Investment Network, Licensed Teams and AI Capabilities
HONG KONG, Sept. 21, 2026 /PRNewswire/ — Noah Holdings Limited (“Noah” or the “Company”) (NYSE: NOAH; HKEX: 6686), a wealth management institution serving global Chinese families, together with its global asset allocation platform Olive Asset Management (“Olive”), successfully held its 2026 Global Investor Summit, themed “The Year of Realization: A New Chapter in Global Allocation,” in Hong Kong. Addressing the industry transformation driven by AI and the long-term wealth needs of global Chinese families, Noah discussed how it is combining the global investment network and professional expertise it has developed over the years with AI capabilities to build a wealth management system that clients can use and rely on over the long term.
Investment professionals from Global Infrastructure Partners (GIP, a part of BlackRock), Macquarie Asset Management, Bridgepoint, HarbourVest Partners and Sumitomo Mitsui Trust Asset Management attended the summit and participated in discussions. Noah’s global network of investment managers is an important foundation of its investment capabilities. Through its ongoing investments in funds globally, Noah and Olive continue to build relationships with managers and accumulate underlying research data, drawing on these resources to understand industry shifts, validate investment judgments and support clients’ long-term asset allocation.
Understanding the Responsibility of Wealth Management, Starting From Clients’ Long-Term Interests
Noah Holdings believes that the productivity shift brought by AI is changing how wealth is created and is placing new demands on families’ long-term planning. Wealth management needs to understand the long-term forces behind changes in technology, capital and family needs, while also factoring in family governance and succession. The responsibility of professional institutions is to help clients understand these changes and make judgments based on their own needs, building trust through long-term engagement.
Noah Holdings Chairwoman Norah Wang said: “Care is what expertise is for – that has always been Noah’s foundation. Our job is not to predict events, but to identify forces. Real care means using professional judgment to help clients see clearly which fluctuations they can bear, and which risks they must avoid.”
Noah Holdings CEO Zander Yin said at the summit that every technological revolution rewrites the world order and redraws the map of resources. The productivity shift now being driven by AI is no exception – it is likewise changing the path for corporate growth and investor participation.
Yin said: “The industrial revolutions of the past freed human hands; this AI revolution is further extending the human brain and human intelligence. Noah’s long-accumulated insight into GPs lets us keep observing how leading investment institutions make their choices. With AI, we are connecting this accumulated knowledge into clearer research threads – this ‘map’ is the trajectory of choices made by the world’s leading institutions. Following this map to identify companies worth deeper research is the approach we take.”
These judgments ultimately need to be embedded in a system clients can use. Noah’s three platforms operate in coordination: ARK Wealth Management handles account services and investment execution, covering the global banking system, trading channels, mutual funds and structured products; Olive Asset Management is responsible for long-term asset allocation, covering private equity, venture capital, real estate and global infrastructure; and Glory Family Heritage focuses on family protection and intergenerational planning, providing global family succession and lifestyle services. The three platforms work together within a unified framework to translate clients’ long-term needs into concrete investment, allocation and succession arrangements.
Noah Olive’s “Institutional Intelligence”: Making Judgment Evidence-Based and Experience Cumulative
Olive Asset Management Global CEO Peng Jing said at the summit that Olive is continuing to build its “institutional intelligence,” turning the research, decisions and experience accumulated through long-term investment practice into shared organizational methods and standards, so that professional judgment can accumulate over time, be tested, and improve through practice.
Observing the choices made by top-tier institutions is the starting point for research, not the conclusion. A global network of managers provides breadth of research, but institutional prestige and the number of investments alone cannot substitute for judgment. The team tracks how many genuinely independent sources of information support a given judgment, rather than simply counting how many firms have co-invested. At the execution level, Olive evaluates company quality and purchase price separately; at the research level, screening models need to be tested using only the information available at each historical point in time, with the methodology then refined based on actual outcomes. Project data, the basis for decisions, and the lessons drawn from both successes and mistakes are thereby retained within the organization over time. In this process, AI helps expand information coverage, detect anomalies and maintain ongoing tracking, while the professional team remains responsible for industry judgment, risk assessment and final decisions.
The summit also included a series of breakout sessions on topics such as cutting-edge technology in Silicon Valley, positioning in global private markets, opportunities in public markets, and family succession planning, with professionals from Noah and partner institutions taking part in the discussions.
Noah will continue to connect global investment resources, professional research and client service, working through its platforms to support the long-term investment and wealth succession needs of global Chinese families.
