THE PRIVACY SMALL PRINT ATTACHED TO JUST ONE DAY OF A FAMILY’S DIGITAL LIFE WOULD TAKE ALMOST 10 WORKING DAYS TO READ – LONGER THAN THE COMPLETE WORKS OF WILLIAM SHAKESPEARE

US family would need 78.3 hours, or 9.8 workdays, to read 233 privacy policies, terms and notices linked to one ordinary day

ZURICH, Sept. 28, 2026 /PRNewswire/ — A US family would need almost 10 full workdays to read the privacy policies, terms and notices surrounding the digital services and systems used in their one ordinary day, according to a new Web3 Foundation study.

The US family modelled scenario involved 233 documents containing 1,118,224 words. That is 78.3 hours of reading, or 9.8 eight-hour workdays, and 26% more than the 884,647 words in William Shakespeare’s complete works.

The White Paper, Everyday Surveillance: What One Ordinary Day May Reveal About You, mapped six model households in the United States and United Kingdom. Researchers identified 1,195 relevant consumer privacy and terms documents containing more than 5.38 million words.

In the US family modelled scenario, 81 organizations were linked to the household during an ordinary weekday. Everyday systems may generate thousands of data points, including around 2,000 heart-rate readings from wearables, minute-by-minute records from school-managed devices and continuous location availability through family location-sharing services.

The study does not claim to be a national survey or to describe the practices of every user. It examines documented capabilities and permissions across evidence-led model scenarios involving ordinary digital services and systems in the UK and US.

Gavin Wood, founder of Web3 Foundation, said: “We did what consumers are told to do: we read the privacy policies. For the modelled US family, one ordinary day means almost ten working days of reading. None of this is hidden. Rather, it is disclosed, in public, in full, and at a volume that functions as concealment.”

Bill Laboon, Vice President of Technical Operations at Web3 Foundation, said: “What is striking is how much data may be generated around completely ordinary digital activity. The report raises the question of whether we can build services differently, for example, by allowing people to prove what is needed without routinely disclosing the underlying information.”

Dozuki Launches Forge AI to Power the Future of the Industrial Workforce

Embedded experiences bring AI into everyday workflows, while a dynamic AI Assistant helps people explore deeper questions and improvement opportunities.

MOUNTAIN VIEW, Calif., Sept. 28, 2026 /PRNewswire/ — Dozuki, a leading Connected Worker Platform for industrial operations, today announced Forge AI, an industrial AI layer that brings intelligence into the flow of work through two complementary experiences: embedded AI for defined tasks and a dynamic AI Assistant for deeper questions and investigation. Together, they help manufacturers capture expertise, build workforce capability, and identify opportunities to improve operations.

Dozuki Forge AI arrives as industrial organizations face critical workforce challenges: experienced employees are leaving, manufacturing work is becoming more complex, and operations are being asked to accomplish more with leaner teams. At the same time, manufacturers are evaluating how artificial intelligence can improve productivity without sacrificing the quality and operational context required in operations.

Dozuki Forge AI addresses that challenge by applying AI to the operational knowledge, workforce skills, and frontline activity already connected through Dozuki.

“Manufacturing doesn’t have a shortage of intelligence. The challenge is capturing it, scaling it, and putting it in the hands of the people who need it,” said Jerry Dolinsky, CEO of Dozuki. “Forge AI helps companies turn the expertise of their best people into institutional intelligence that can strengthen the entire workforce, even as experienced workers retire and operations become more complex.”

Forge AI supports both consistent execution and the investigation needed to improve it. Embedded experiences bring AI into defined workflows, helping teams create guidance, understand procedure changes, and review visible deviations from a standard. The dynamic AI Assistant lets people explore an operational issue through follow-up questions, troubleshooting, and analysis. Both draw on the knowledge and context connected through Dozuki, helping organizations:

Preserve critical knowledge by transforming documents, video, and frontline expertise into standardized operational content.Develop workforce capabilities by creating training, assessments, and insights into workforce readiness and skill gaps.Support frontline execution with contextual answers and troubleshooting guidance grounded in approved operational knowledge.Accelerate continuous improvement by analyzing frontline activity and operational signals to identify patterns and opportunities.

The launch builds on the Dozuki work of helping manufacturers digitize and operationalize frontline knowledge. Its CreatorPro AI technology, for example, can transform frontline video into structured digital work instructions. The technology has already reduced customer SOP creation time from four hours to less than 10 minutes.

“Generic AI is only as valuable as the knowledge and context behind it,” Dolinsky said. “Industrial companies already possess an extraordinary amount of intelligence in their people and operations. Forge AI is designed to make that intelligence accessible, actionable, and scalable.”

Forge AI maintains the governance required for industrial environments. Customer information remains isolated within each organization’s Dozuki account, existing permissions govern access, and customer data is not used to train shared AI models.

Forge AI is available through Dozuki, learn more at www.dozuki.com/ai.
