Huntington Bank Announces More Than $40 Million Investment in Tupelo’s Future

Published

on

Investment will modernize key facilities, support local jobs and serve as the anchor investment for the new Huntington Bank Business Park

TUPELO, Miss., Oct. 7, 2026 /PRNewswire/ — The Huntington National Bank (“Huntington”) today announced an investment of more than $40 million to modernize its downtown Tupelo Regional Headquarters and Tupelo Operations Center, the anchor investment of the new Huntington Bank Business Park. The investment will enhance the colleague and customer experience while reinforcing Huntington’s long-term commitment to Tupelo and North Mississippi. The project also furthers Tupelo’s role as a key center for Huntington’s operations and customer support across its expanded footprint.

“This more than $40 million investment sends a clear message: Huntington is committed to Tupelo, to Mississippi and to the people who make this community strong,” said Joseph Moss, Mississippi regional president for Huntington. “Our colleagues serve customers, support businesses and help communities grow every day. We are investing in the places where that work happens and where our customers and clients connect with our teams. Tupelo has a proud history in financial services, and Huntington will build on that foundation with the scale, capabilities and local commitment to serve this region well into the future.”

The project will modernize both the Tupelo Operations Center and downtown Tupelo Regional Headquarters with updated workspaces. Productivity and lifestyle enhancements at the Operations Center include a new fitness center, updated health center and on-site café, while renovations to the downtown location will feature a modernized branch, a community meeting space and expanded parking.

“We are grateful to the State of Mississippi and the City of Tupelo for their partnership and leadership in advancing economic growth and helping move this investment forward,” said Prashant Nateri, chief corporate operations officer for Huntington. “The Tupelo Operations Center supports customers, colleagues and business partners across our footprint, and the talented team based here is essential to that work. By investing in modern spaces, expanded amenities and an exceptional workplace experience, we are investing in our people and helping ensure Tupelo remains a place where top talent can grow and thrive. We are proud of the team in Tupelo and excited about the future we are building together.”

Huntington plans to designate its Tupelo Operations Center and the adjacent buildings as the Huntington Bank Business Park. As an anchor investor in the park, Huntington can help attract additional investment and support growth, development and job creation across the broader business corridor.

“Huntington’s investment reflects strong confidence in Tupelo, our workforce and our future,” said Tupelo Mayor Todd Jordan. “The vision for the Huntington Bank Business Park creates opportunities for future growth and investment and reinforces Tupelo’s position as a place where businesses can invest, grow and succeed. Huntington is leading the way, and we look forward to the opportunities this investment may create for others to come alongside Huntington and invest in the future of our community.”

The Mississippi Development Authority is supporting Huntington’s Tupelo Operations Center project in part through state economic development incentives, as announced this morning.

“Huntington’s investment makes a powerful statement about Tupelo’s future and the strength of our business community,” said David Rumbarger, president and CEO of the Community Development Foundation. “This commitment supports long-term economic growth, modernizes important local spaces and reinforces Tupelo and Lee County as places where major employers can invest, grow and thrive. We appreciate Huntington’s confidence in our community, and we look forward to seeing the impact of this project in the years ahead.”

Work on the project is underway, with renovations expected to continue in phases through mid-2027. The investment reflects Huntington’s confidence in Tupelo and North Mississippi and its commitment to supporting the region’s continued growth.
