Collaboration with Usher’s New Look and Afterschool Alliance Gives 15-Year-Old New Skills in Putting Her Passion to Work

WASHINGTON, Oct. 8, 2026 /PRNewswire/ — The Afterschool Alliance is joining Clear Channel Outdoor (NYSE: CCO) for a national visibility campaign that celebrates afterschool programs, featuring artwork created by a 15-year-old afterschool student from Usher’s New Look. The student’s “Powered by Afterschool” design will run across nearly 2,000 digital billboards in October as part of Lights On Afterschool, the 27th annual nationwide celebration of afterschool programs and the opportunities they provide young people to explore, connect with peers and mentors, and build new skills.

Evelyn Daniel, a 10th-grader at Cass Technical High School in Detroit, worked on the billboard as part of Usher’s New Look programming at the Michigan Central Boys & Girls Club Spark Lab, which gives youth high-production, real-world work experience with industry experts. Communications and design professionals provided guidance and support to Evelyn throughout the project, and Clear Channel shared feedback and considerations for the billboard format. “My favorite thing about my afterschool program is being able to help people with a skill I acquired and learned to love from a young age,” Evelyn said. “I’m an artist at heart, and in making the design for the billboard, I learned how to plan ahead and how to stick to a plan to make a project come together.”

Some 8,000 Lights On Afterschool events will take place on or around October 22 to shine a spotlight on the many ways afterschool programs support students and their families, and to call attention to the need for more afterschool resources. The latest America After 3PM data show vast unmet need for afterschool programs. The parents of 29.6 million U.S. children want afterschool programs for their children—but just 7 million are enrolled. Afterschool programs help children and youth reach their potential by keeping them safe and engaged after the school day ends, providing hands-on learning in a place that builds a sense of confidence and belonging, and offering alternatives to screen time. A large and powerful body of evidence demonstrates that students who take part in afterschool do better in school, attain higher levels of education, and gain skills that last a lifetime, such as problem solving, teamwork, and communication.

Organized by the Afterschool Alliance, Lights On Afterschool includes events hosted by schools, Boys & Girls Clubs, YMCAs, 4-H clubs, cities, parks, museums, community centers, and many others. Longtime afterschool advocate USHER is Honorary Chair of Lights On Afterschool. Communities from coast to coast are holding special lightings of buildings, bridges, and parks, with mayors and governors declaring October 22 Lights On Afterschool Day.

Clear Channel Outdoor is supporting Lights On Afterschool by donating some of its most prominent spaces to display afterschool messages on digital billboards in 25 markets around the country throughout October. On October 22, Clear Channel will feature Evelyn’s artwork on two jumbo billboards in New York City’s Times Square and will illuminate Boston’s South Station. The National League of Cities and the National Summer Learning Association will champion the campaign.

“We’re thrilled to bring two incredible partners, Clear Channel Outdoor and Usher’s New Look, together to showcase the power of afterschool programs for this year’s Lights On Afterschool,” said Afterschool Alliance Executive Director Jodi Grant. “Evelyn’s work creating the ‘Powered by Afterschool’ billboards, with guidance from communications and design pros, demonstrates firsthand the kind of real-world learning, career exploration, mentorship, and growth that afterschool programs offer young people. At Usher’s New Look, collaborations between industry leaders and youth are happening every day, giving youth practical experience while exploring possible pathways ahead. We are delighted that Clear Channel Outdoor is not only helping to elevate the need for afterschool programs but also investing in giving a young person such a tremendous opportunity.”

“Every year, Lights On Afterschool gives us an opportunity to use the power of out-of-home to shine a light on the importance of afterschool programs,” said Dan Levi, Executive Vice President and Chief Marketing Officer of Clear Channel Outdoor. “This year, we’re putting the spotlight on the youth themselves, bringing student-designed creative from Usher’s New Look to billboards nationwide. Seeing their ideas displayed across the country is a meaningful way to celebrate what young people are creating through afterschool programs and remind communities why these opportunities matter.”

WATERTOWN, Mass., Oct. 8, 2026 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ — Olympia today announced the launch of Scope 360™, a project-managed commercial moving program designed to help organizations plan and execute office relocations, workplace reconfigurations, and asset transitions with greater clarity, coordination, and control.

Scope 360 brings the many moving parts of a commercial transition together through a single, coordinated plan. From defining the initial scope and managing building requirements to relocation, installation, storage, technology coordination, and final closeout, the program helps organizations minimize disruption and keep projects moving forward.

Scope 360 services include:

A dedicated project team coordinates the work to help reduce downtime, maintain accountability, and address potential issues before they affect the schedule.

The program is designed to support office and corporate clients as well as healthcare organizations, laboratories, universities, technology companies, professional-services firms, government agencies, and other institutions managing complex or time-sensitive transitions.

Olympia’s commercial team manages relocations for corporate offices, hospitals, universities, and laboratories, coordinating everything from equipment disconnect and reconnect to phased, multi-day move execution.

“Scope 360 reflects how our commercial team already approaches complex projects: understand the complete picture, build the right plan, and stay accountable through the final detail,” Gilmartin added. “The name gives that approach a clear identity and makes it easier for clients to access Olympia’s full range of commercial capabilities.”

100kW and 72kW Power Shelf solutions highlight Acbel’s expanding capabilities in high-density AI data center power infrastructure

SAN JOSE, Calif., Oct. 8, 2026 /PRNewswire/ — Acbel Polytech Inc., a global provider of power solutions, today announced that it will showcase its latest high-density power solutions at OCP Global Summit 2026, taking place October 13–15 in San Jose, California. Exhibiting alongside its subsidiary OmniOn Power, Acbel will demonstrate power technologies supporting ±400V/800V DC and 50V DC architectures for AI data center infrastructure.

As AI computing continues to scale, higher-power GPUs and accelerators are driving significant increases in server- and rack-level power requirements. These demands are accelerating the shift toward power architectures that deliver greater power density and efficiency while maintaining reliability and deployment flexibility.

For ±400V/800V DC architectures, Acbel will showcase its 100kW Power Shelf, which delivers 100kW of output in a compact 1OU form factor. Combined with Acbel’s patented PDU design, the solution can be configured for either ±400V or 800V output based on customer requirements, supporting flexible deployment across different data center DC power architectures.

For 50V DC architectures, Acbel will feature its 19-inch 72kW Power Shelf, incorporating 12kW power modules with power density of up to 102 W/in³. The modules have achieved 80 PLUS Ruby certification, delivering high power density and energy efficiency for increasingly power-intensive AI infrastructure. Acbel is also developing liquid-cooled power technologies to address rising power density and thermal requirements as AI computing platforms continue to evolve.

“AI is fundamentally changing how power infrastructure is designed for data centers,” said Sven Lee, Vice President of Power and Energy Solutions Business at Acbel. “As rack power continues to increase, customers need solutions that deliver more power within limited space without compromising efficiency, reliability or flexibility. Acbel is building on its power conversion expertise to expand from high-density power solutions toward more advanced data center power architectures and liquid-cooled technologies.”

Acbel’s participation in OCP Global Summit 2026 reflects the company’s continued expansion in AI data center power infrastructure and its commitment to collaborating with cloud service providers, server manufacturers and ecosystem partners to address evolving power requirements.

MICHAELA JAÉ RODRIGUEZ TO BE HONORED BY APLA HEALTH AT THE 42ND ANNUAL AIDS WALK LOS ANGELES ON OCTOBER 18, 2026

Joel Kim Booster to present Rodriguez with the Voice of Visibility Award, followed by an Opening Ceremony Performance from Singer/Songwriter David Archuleta

LOS ANGELES, Oct. 8, 2026 /PRNewswire/ — APLA Health announced today it will present its inaugural Voice of Visibility Award to honor actress and activist Michaela Jaé Rodriguez (Pose, Loot) on Sunday, October 18, 10:30 a.m. at the 42nd annual AIDS Walk Los Angeles, a fundraising event celebrating life, honoring those who have been lost, and taking action against HIV. On-screen co-star and advocate Joel Kim Booster will present Rodriguez with the honor during the AIDS Walk kick-off ceremony in West Hollywood Park, which will also feature a live performance from David Archuleta. Registration is now open at aidswalkla.org.

“There is still a cruel distance between what medicine can do and who actually gets to benefit from it. We know access to testing, treatment, and consistent care saves lives, yet our most marginalized communities, especially Black and Brown trans women, continue to bear a disproportionate burden,” said Rodriguez. “Our lives cannot become negotiable when the political climate changes or when supporting us becomes inconvenient. If you stand with this community, that commitment has to remain when it is hardest. We are not disposable, and we deserve the same chance to live fully, love freely, dream boldly, and grow old.”

As the first and oldest AIDS walk in the country, APLA Health presents its Voice of Visibility Award to Rodriguez for her commitment to HIV/AIDS awareness and destigmatization, and her advocacy for the transgender community. Rodriguez lives this year’s APLA Health AIDS Walk theme, “Defend Care, Demand Action,” a message aimed squarely at closing the gap between what medicine can now do and who can actually get it.

“Michaela Jaé is a powerful voice for the community,” said Craig E. Thompson, CEO of APLA Health. “Voices like hers keep HIV and equity in the public conversation at a time when it would be easy to look away. HIV is no longer the death sentence it once was, but that progress depends on people being able to afford testing, treatment, and ongoing care.”

Rodriguez won a Golden Globe for Best Actress in a Drama Series for Pose, becoming the first openly transgender actress to win the award, and was the first trans woman nominated for a Primetime Emmy in a leading acting category, also for Pose. She was also honored with GLAAD’s Stephen F. Kolzak Award and named The Advocate’s Person of the Year for her work promoting LGBTQ+ acceptance and HIV/AIDS awareness.

This year’s sponsors of APLA Health’s AIDS Walk Los Angeles 2026 include Premier Sponsor Paul Hastings; Grand Sponsors ABC 7, Gilead, and Paramount; Principal Sponsors Anthem, City of West Hollywood, ViiV Healthcare, Latham & Watkins, and NuvemRx; Major Sponsors Albertsons and Starbucks; Supporting Sponsors City National Bank, Baldwin Hills Investors, Ltd., and The Abbey; and Event Sponsors Amgen, Decron, Lionsgate, Eddie’s Pharmacy, KPMG, Queer Industry Night, Enterprise Mobility, Jeni’s Ice Creams, Keck Medicine of USC, and Room & Board Home Furnishings.
