Xojo 2026 Release 3 Introduces Agentic Mode, Bringing AI Agents Directly Into the Development Workflow

Published

on

Latest release also delivers new controls and performance gains across desktop, web, and mobile

AUSTIN, Texas, Oct. 20, 2026 /PRNewswire/ — Xojo, Inc. today announced the newest release of the Xojo cross-platform development environment, headlined by the new Agentic Mode. Agentic Mode lets AI coding agents work directly on Xojo projects, seeing their changes reflected in the IDE and catching compilation errors on their own. Developers get a faster, more automated workflow in which AI agents act as first-class collaborators, all while users stay in control.

Alongside Agentic Mode, the IDE gains the ability to reload an entire project, individual project items, or just the items that have changed on disk, making it easier to keep work in sync with external tools and version control. Xojo also continues to refine its built-in AI assistant, Jade, with improved copy and paste to and from text, better handling of special characters on Windows, and more reliable support for longer-running requests.

Desktop developers get a more polished and modern toolkit, including the new DesktopTable control, symbols in menu items, and system images available on every target. WinUI and Linux apps also see improvements. On the web, large ListBoxes populate much faster, and developers get new tools for previewing custom controls at design time and responding to presses on WebRectangles. Mobile developers gain new document pickers and viewers, dynamic type support, and richer menus, bringing iOS and Android closer together in capability.

“Developers are increasingly working alongside AI agents, and Xojo 2026r3 is built for that reality,” said Geoff Perlman, CEO and Founder of Xojo, Inc. “Agentic Mode closes the loop. An agent can write code, run the project, read the compiler’s feedback, and keep going, freeing developers to focus on the creative work. Xojo has always aimed to abstract users from the complexity of development, and Agentic Mode is our next big step.”

New Features and Updates:

IDE: Enable Agentic Mode (File > Agentic Mode) to allow Xojo to auto-reload projects modified by AI agents and allow the agent to run the project to get compilation errorsIDE: Reload the entire project, individual project items, or items that have changed on diskIDE: Improved copy and paste to and from text; Jade now better handles special characters on Windows and longer-running requestsDesktop: DesktopTable, MenuItem symbols, Picture.SystemImage on all targets, WinUI improvements, Linux improvementsWeb: ListBox.AddRow performance improvements, WebCanvas.DrawControlInLayoutEditor, WebRectangle.PressediOS: PopupMenu separators, symbols in several places, dynamic type, MobileSearchField, MobilePrinterPicker, MobileDocumentPicker, MobileDocumentViewerAndroid: ToolbarButton badges, PopupMenu separators, Picture.Mask support, dynamic type, MobileDocumentPickerDBKit v2: Adds support for DatabaseConnection, displaying related tables, lazy loading, and much more

New offering gives developers, students, and customers access to the full power of Workato’s enterprise-grade engine to build AI agents and MCP servers

SINGAPORE, Oct. 21, 2026 /PRNewswire/ — Workato®, the leading Control and Execution Platform for Enterprise AI, today announced the launch of a new self-service offering that gives customers, developers, and students across Asia access to the Workato platform to govern and scale their AI initiatives, including building and productionizing AI agents and MCP servers.

Making AI accessible has been at the heart of Workato’s mission the past several years. Through the AI Institute Alliance, unveiled in September 2025, Workato partnered with leading institutes of higher learning across Singapore, including Nanyang Polytechnic, Republic Polytechnic, Temasek Polytechnic, Singapore Polytechnic, Ngee Ann Polytechnic, the Singapore University of Social Sciences, and the National University of Singapore. The initiative equipped students and educators with automation and AI skills.

The AI Lab, which opened a year later, extended that commitment further into the public sector through its partnership with EDB, and into inclusive hiring through SG Enable.

The newly launched self-serve platform will provide users access to:

A free account to start building immediately, with the option to upgrade to a paid plan, no contract required, as projects growThe ability to build recipes, Agents/Genies, and MCP servers directly on the platformThe same governed, enterprise-grade engine that powers Workato’s largest deploymentsA path built for independent developers, students, and small teams, as well as large enterprises

Since launching in 2026 in North America, Workato has seen rapid growth in the builder community. The platform is enterprise grade, but free to get started. As builders solve problems for their business, they can grow by upgrading to a paid plan. With this launch in Singapore, Workato is making an investment in the local builder community.

“The next era of AI won’t be defined by who has access to intelligence, but by who can turn it into action. We’re putting the same enterprise-grade power trusted by the world’s largest companies into the hands of every builder. We want everyone to be able to transform how their business operates,” said Rishi Mallik, Chief Growth Officer, Workato.

Workato showcased its self-serve platform and broader community initiatives at World of Workato (WOW) 2026 in Singapore.
