Demand grows as organizations aim to reduce their energy consumption and carbon footprint

BOULDER, Colo., July 23, 2024 /PRNewswire/ — A new report from Guidehouse Insights examines the commercial building automation controls market, globally.

By automating technologies such as HVAC, lighting, fire and life safety, and security and access controls, building owners and facility managers have realized they can achieve benefits such as more efficient energy consumption, increased response times to emergencies, and a healthier occupant environment. According to a new report from Guidehouse Insights, revenue attributed to commercial building automation controls is expected to increase from $32.9 billion in 2024 to $50.9 billion in 2033 at a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 5.0%.

“The demand for commercial building automation controls has been growing over the past decade as organizations aim to reduce their energy consumption and carbon footprint,” says David Gonzalez, research analyst with Guidehouse Insights. “The latest advances in building technologies have facilitated the ability to connect and manage all building systems through a single interface that enables real-time communication and automates responses to changes in the building environment.”

The transition by organizations worldwide toward smart, integrated systems has accelerated in recent years due to factors such as energy price volatility, sustainability stakeholder pressures, legislative obligations, and the need to optimize space utilization. In addition, commercial building automation technology vendors have been able to develop smart systems paired with open communications protocols that can seamlessly integrate into third-party building management systems and allow for easier and faster deployment of automated technologies. The combination of increased customer demand with more easily integrated technologies has resulted in a growing market size for commercial building automation controls, according to the report.

The report, Commercial Building Automation Controls, provides a comprehensive analysis of the commercial building automation controls market, covering the trends, drivers, and barriers that have shaped its evolution in recent years. Additionally, it presents a 10-year analysis, offering insights into the future trajectory of the market across five global regions (North America, Europe, Asia Pacific, Latin America, Middle East & Africa), four technology segments (HVAC controls, lighting controls, fire and life safety controls, security and access controls), and eight commercial building types (office, retail, education, healthcare, hotels and restaurants, institutional/assembly, warehouse, transport). An executive summary of the report is available for free download on the Guidehouse Insights website.

RECO’s New Annual Financial Filing Program Sees Ontario Brokerages Achieve 94.4% On-Time Compliance Rate

Collaborative approach strengthens brokerage accountability, financial oversight and consumer protection across Ontario’s real estate sector

TORONTO, Nov. 2, 2026 /CNW/ — The Real Estate Council of Ontario (RECO) reports that 94.4% of Ontario real estate brokerages submitted their initial Annual Financial Filing on time, marking a strong first-year result for the new regulatory program.

The Annual Financial Filing initiative is a key component of RECO’s regulatory modernization efforts, providing greater insight into brokerage financial health, strengthening trust account oversight, and supporting consumer protection across Ontario’s real estate sector.

“Achieving 94.4% on-time compliance for initial filings is a significant result and reflects the commitment of Ontario’s real estate brokerages to meet their regulatory obligations,” said Jean Lépine, Interim Chief Executive Officer of RECO. “We are building a more modern, proactive, and accountable regulator. Timely financial reporting helps RECO identify potential risks earlier, strengthen trust account oversight, and better protect consumers. We appreciate the sector’s response and the collaboration that helped make this first phase of the program a success.”

A collaborative approach to stronger compliance

The strong compliance rate achieved in the program’s inaugural year demonstrates how distinct sector organizations play complementary roles in the shared responsibility of enhancing industry professionalism.

RECO recognizes the important role played by the Ontario Real Estate Association (OREA) and local real estate boards in raising awareness of the new mandatory requirement and encouraging timely submissions. RECO will continue to work with sector association and real estate board leaders to promote compliance, provide clear guidance, and support a strong culture of professional accountability across the sector.

“This result is indicative of what can be accomplished when the regulator and industry work together toward a shared objective,” Lépine added. “We thank OREA and local boards for their leadership and support, and the brokerages that filed their first submission on time.”

RECO is following up with brokerages that missed the filing deadline and will take appropriate compliance and enforcement action where necessary, including a late fee and potential referral to the Discipline Committee. Persistent non-compliance may result in suspension and eventual registration revocation.

Advancing RECO’s regulatory transformation

The Annual Financial Filing program strengthens RECO’s ability to identify emerging risks, target regulatory resources more effectively, and promote accountability across the sector. By providing a clearer picture of brokerage financial health, the program supports a more proactive, risk-based approach to regulation. RECO will continue to analyze the data received through Annual Financial Filing and assess the program’s ongoing effectiveness to identify any improvements needed to support future filings.

About RECO

The Real Estate Council of Ontario regulates real estate professionals and brokerages in Ontario under the Trust in Real Estate Services Act, 2002. RECO’s mandate is to protect the public interest through effective regulation of the province’s real estate sector.

Airbrush Upgrades AI Image Enhancer With 16K Output and Batch Processing for Up to 50 Images

Published

SINGAPORE, Nov. 2, 2026 /CNW/ — Airbrush has introduced a major update to its AI Image Enhancer on the web, adding high-resolution output options of up to 16K and batch processing for up to 50 images in a single session. The update is designed to help creators, photographers, marketers, and e-commerce teams improve image quality while handling larger volumes of visual content more efficiently.

As creators and businesses produce more visual content for online stores, advertising, social media, and high-resolution displays, preparing images at different sizes and quality levels can become time-consuming. The latest Airbrush update expands the Image Enhancer workflow with higher-resolution output and larger-scale batch processing directly in the browser.

High-Resolution Output Up to 16K

Users can now select output options of up to 16K resolution when enhancing images with Airbrush. The AI-powered tool helps improve clarity, detail, colour, and overall visual quality while increasing image resolution, giving users more flexibility when preparing product photography, marketing materials, social media content, and other high-resolution visuals.

Batch Processing for Up to 50 Images

Users can now upload and enhance up to 50 images in one session instead of processing files individually. This reduces repetitive steps and makes it easier to work with larger batches.

The feature can be especially useful for e-commerce teams preparing product catalogues, photographers managing large image collections, social media teams creating campaign assets, and creators enhancing multiple images before publishing.

“Users are looking for ways to achieve better image quality while saving time when working with larger numbers of files,” said Lyllian Lai, Product Lead at Airbrush. “With higher-resolution output and batch processing, we want to make image enhancement more flexible for everyday creators while also supporting more demanding professional workflows.”

Airbrush keeps the enhancement process online and streamlined. Users can upload images, apply AI enhancement, preview the results, and download finished files within the same browser-based workflow.

For further editing, Airbrush Web also offers the AI Background Remover to remove or replace photo backgrounds and the Object Remover to erase unwanted objects and distractions. Together, these tools provide more ways to improve and prepare visual content within the Airbrush online editor.
