For its commitment to using technology to provide students with a transformative path to success, Seton Hall University has been named an Adobe Creative Campus – the first of its kind in New Jersey.

SOUTH ORANGE, N.J. , July 27, 2022  /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ — For its commitment to using technology to provide students with a transformative path to success, Seton Hall University has been named an Adobe Creative Campus – the first of its kind in New Jersey.

As an Adobe Creative Campus, Seton Hall is part of a select group of colleges and universities that are driving the future of digital literacy within the global higher education community. By recognizing the value of teaching creative and persuasive digital communication skills, the University actively advances these skills throughout all curricula to help our students succeed in the classroom and gain an edge in the competitive modern workplace.

“Seton Hall continues its legacy of innovation in teaching with technology as we roll out the premiere multimedia suite of tools to our entire community,” said Seton Hall’s Associate Chief Information Officer Paul E. Fisher, Jr., M.P.A. “We are giving our faculty the tools to create new pedagogies while giving students the digital literacy proficiencies, skills and experience to stand out among their peers in the job market.”

Beginning in Fall 2022, students, faculty and employees on all three Seton Hall campuses will have free access to all Adobe Creative Cloud apps and services, enabling them to create amazing images, graphics, publications, videos, animations, web and mobile experiences, and more.

Here are just a few examples of how institutions are integrating Creative Cloud into assignments campus-wide to teach digital literacy and essential soft skills:

Business: Create a podcast exploring a current topic in marketing or finance using Adobe Audition.Chemistry: Design a mobile app that teaches principles of chemistry in the form of a simple game using AdobeXD.Psychology: Create a multi-panel brochure in Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator or lnDesign.History: Use Adobe lnDesign to write, design, and publish a magazine exploring events from a particular period in history.Biology: Use Adobe Illustrator to create an infographic explaining the impacts of a public health issue.English: Use Adobe Premiere Pro to script and produce a video essay that offers a critical response to a work of literature.

“For many years, students in our Art, Design and Interactive Multimedia and Visual and Sound Media programs have benefited from enhanced digital literacy and the ability to create compelling content, including visual, audio, storytelling, and digital communication skills that accelerate their connection to disciplinary standards and post-graduation outcomes,” said Renee Robinson, Ph.D., interim dean of the College of Communication and the Arts. “The proliferation as an Adobe Creative Campus will further emphasize our commitment to digital literacy, transferrable skills and student engagement, while similarly enhancing access and equity to these resources among our students, faculty and administrators.”

Lecturer of English/Coordinator of Business Writing Greg Iannarella, M.A. added, “With the Adobe Creative Suite, Seton Hall is investing in students’ ability to develop, pitch, and produce digital narrative in industry leading software. By the end of their college experience, students will have a maker mindset and a striking portfolio that will help them get jobs and be creative leaders in the digitally transformed workplace.”

In addition to making industry-leading Adobe Creative Cloud tools and services available to students, the University will collaborate with other Adobe Creative Campuses to share ideas and innovations that expand digital literacy and help ensure student success.

“Providing the Adobe Creative suite to the University community helps us to meet our goal to create a premier student experience that is equitable and consistent,” noted Provost Katia Passerini, Ph.D. “This program removes barriers to student success and faculty innovation, allows our administrative units to become more efficient, and broadens the digital skills of the entire community, fostering creativity across the entire University”.

These foundational skills can help inspire students and transform the University community, according to Michael Taylor, Ph.D., chair of the Department of Political Science and Public Affairs, who also teaches in the Environmental Studies Program. He is the founding director of the interdisciplinary program in Environmental Studies and the Center for Mobile Research and Innovation, and his current research focuses on the emerging role of mobile technologies in the areas of environment and health as well as associated public policy issues.

Shared Taylor, “The majority of our students are digital natives, born and raised within a digitally mediated world and are proficient consumers of digital content. Becoming a Creative Campus provides Seton Hall University with the ability to empower our students to become equally proficient as digital content creators who can lead the way to making the world a better place.”

Training for select faculty has already begun in summer 2022 and will continue throughout the year as part of existing training opportunities and faculty development.

~ Seasoned health IT executive and former ONC advisor to lead EBSCO Clinical Decisions as it advances its mission to bring trusted evidence to clinicians at the point of care.~

IPSWICH, Mass., Oct. 26, 2026 /PRNewswire/ — EBSCO Clinical Decisions today announced the appointment of Paul Tuten as its Executive Vice President. In his role, Tuten will oversee all aspects of EBSCO Clinical Decisions, including strategy, content, product development, and growth. His priorities include advancing the organization’s point-of-care strategy and expanding partnerships that bring expert-vetted DynaMed® content directly into the workflows, platforms, and AI-enabled tools clinicians use every day.

“Paul’s strong and even-handed leadership is an incredible asset as we work to deliver intelligent, evidence-based tools that elevate care delivery,” said Roy Ziegelstein, MD, MACP, Editor-in-Chief and Chief Medical Officer of DynaMed. “His deep technical expertise and track record in academic publishing will help us take the next step in building and delivering trustworthy, evidence-based solutions for clinicians that integrate natively into their daily workflows, reducing friction and improving care when and where it matters most.”

Tuten joined the company in 2025 as Executive Vice President and Chief Platform Officer at EBSCO Information Services, focused on accelerating scalable growth of EBSCO’s advanced knowledge services. Prior to joining, he was Chief Product and Technology Officer at Taylor & Francis, where he led a global team in driving digital transformation and enhancing data governance, analytics, and platform-centric customer experiences in service to academic researchers. Tuten previously built and repositioned health IT organizations focused on clinical data exchange, patient safety, quality measurement, and revenue cycle management, including at Quantros (now part of RLDatix and Healthcare Bluebook), RxAnte, and ABILITY Network (now part of Inovalon). He holds a PhD in Information Systems from Nova Southeastern University.

“For too long, clinical decision support has worked like a paper map. Useful, but only if you pull over to review it and already know where you are. Clinicians need something closer to GPS, seamlessly integrated into the car and proactively guiding them in real time without having to take their eyes off the road,” said Tuten. “At EBSCO Clinical Decisions, our job is to get trusted clinical knowledge everywhere care is delivered. But like GPS, clinical decision support is only as good as the information behind it. With AI tools multiplying and published research outpacing peer review, it’s never mattered more that human experts decide what evidence informs it. I’m excited to help bring this vision to life and set a new standard for point-of-care delivery.”

Tuten has also advised the federal government on health information exchange and interoperability as a Senior Advisor to the Office of the National Coordinator for Health Information Technology (ONC) at the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services. In that role, he supported the HITECH Act’s Meaningful Use program and served as a government liaison to EHR vendors on certification criteria.

College Board Launches AP Cybersecurity to Prepare Students to Protect the Digital World

New high school course builds foundational skills for college, careers, and service as states connect cybersecurity education to national security needs

NEW YORK, Oct. 26, 2026 /PRNewswire/ — Cyber threats reach into everyday life, from scams that steal families’ savings to attacks on utilities and other essential services. Helping students understand and respond to those threats can open doors to further education, employment, and national defense service. College Board’s new AP Cybersecurity course, which was launched in high schools this fall, gives students a place to begin.

In 2025, U.S. employers posted more than half a million job listings requiring cybersecurity skills. Yet many students have little opportunity to learn about cybersecurity in high school or see where those skills could take them.

AP Cybersecurity introduces students to the work behind that demand: protecting the systems people depend on. Through practical scenarios, students assess security weaknesses, weigh risks, and investigate evidence of attacks. An assignment might ask them to evaluate threats to internet-connected farm equipment or recommend protections for computer networks aboard a naval submarine.

These assignments help students see how cybersecurity skills apply across industries and in national defense. Indiana offers an example of how those connections can take shape. The statewide Cybersecurity Partnership brings together high schools, colleges, employers, and the Indiana National Guard to help students explore routes into further education, employment, and military service.

The course and partnerships like Indiana’s address two connected needs: giving students an introduction to cybersecurity and helping them understand where continued learning could lead. For students, that connection gives classroom assignments a larger purpose. Investigating a security weakness today can be a first step toward learning how to protect a hospital, secure a business, or defend the country.
