Project releases beta of Registry UI and sets plans for OpenTofu Day at KubeCon + CloudNativeCon North America 2024.

ATLANTA, Sept. 5, 2024 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ — Spacelift engineering VP Wojciech Barczynski today highlighted the beta release of the Registry UI by the OpenTofu project, as the community prepares to feature enterprise use cases at OpenTofu Day. Spacelift is the orchestration platform for managing the entire infrastructure lifecycle and major upstream supporter of the open source OpenTofu infrastructure as code (IaC) project, and Barczyniski is a member of the project’s Technical Steering Committee.

With a diversity of IaC and infrastructure automation options available, OpenTofu gives enterprises an open source alternative with an open development process that’s responsive to the needs of an ever-growing, diverse community of global users.

The availability of Registry UI in OpenTofu will accelerate enterprise adoption by offering a streamlined approach to understanding and implementing infrastructure as code with OpenTofu. Registries are a tool engineers use as a one-stop shop for details about resources that can be created, without relying on the documentation offered by cloud providers. Before Registry UI, engineers were required to consult other documentation sources for building OpenTofu automation, complicating the process.

The beta of Registry UI is the latest achievement for the project, which in just one year since its creation has achieved significant momentum, adding capabilities that prepare the project for the rigorous demands of enterprise adoption.

*A First Year Filled With Achievements*
Since its creation one year ago, the OpenTofu community has achieved several remarkable milestones in delivering an enterprise-ready, open source IaC offering.

In January, version 1.6 brought OpenTofu into general availability (GA) with the OpenTofu Registry for modules and providers with a command-line interface, the testing feature, S3 state backend improvements, and many bug fixes. Most importantly, the release showed that the project and community were fully operational, with a dedicated core development team under the umbrella of the Linux Foundation and support from CNCF. Launching with Linux Foundation helped position OpenTofu as a leading open source IaC choice for enterprises.

In March, the community produced the first OpenTofu Day at KubeCon + CloudNativeCon Europe 2024. The event was attended by more than 180 participants who attended talks on deploying and running OpenTofu at scale.

In April, version 1.7 delivered state encryption, developed with the support of Stephan Bartels of Interhyp who also was the initial creator of a pull request to the Terraform Github repository. Alex Scheel from the OpenTofu community was another significant contributor. Since 1.7, users no longer need to rely only on encryption at rest. Also, long-time practitioners understand the challenges of boilerplate code in OpenTofu and Terraform projects, and they understand the limitations of the declarative approach shared by Terraform and OpenTofu. With 1.7, the project began addressing this with dynamic provider-defined functions (written in, for example, Lua and Golang) for improved code readability and reusability code.

In July, version 1.8 was released for early evaluation. In this release, OpenTofu code was made easier to maintain, learn, and read. Users can now use variables and locals in places where they were not supported. The support for tests in OpenTofu, including mocking and overwrites, were also improved.

BC Token Hits $0.02, Setting a New All-Time High

$BC has risen nearly 70% since April as BC Engine continues to expand the token‘s utility across the BC.GAME ecosystem

BELIZE CITY, Belize, July 22, 2026 /PRNewswire/ — BC Token ($BC), the ecosystem token of BC.GAME, reached $0.02 on July 23, setting a new all-time high and extending its recent upward price movement.

According to CoinGecko, $BC reached the $0.02 milestone after moving steadily into a higher price range over the past several weeks. The token previously recorded a high of around $0.01561 on July 17 before continuing its upward movement.

Compared with its price of approximately $0.01181 on April 12, $BC has increased by nearly 70%. The latest milestone is also part of a series of new price records reached by the token since the launch of BC Engine in April.

Alongside the price growth, BC.GAME has continued to expand the practical use of $BC across its platform ecosystem.

Through BC Engine, users can allocate eligible $BC to the platform’s reward system and receive BCD rewards distributed on an hourly basis. Users can also view their allocated tokens, accumulated rewards and participation data directly through the BC Engine interface.

The system is designed to connect $BC participation with activity generated by products and partners across the wider BC.GAME ecosystem.

BC Originals, Croco Gaming and sports betting technology provider BETBY have already been integrated as Engine Nodes. Contributions from participating products and partners help support the BC Engine reward pool, creating a direct connection between platform activity, user participation and token utility.

“Reaching $0.02 is an important milestone for $BC, but price is only one part of the ecosystem’s continued development,” a BC.GAME spokesperson said. “Our focus remains on expanding the token‘s practical uses and connecting it more closely with products, rewards and user participation across the platform.”

The $BC ecosystem also includes separate buyback and token-burning mechanisms.

A portion of the tokens acquired through BC.GAME’s ongoing buyback activity may be redistributed to eligible active users through features such as Instant Bonus. The buyback programme operates separately from the token-burning mechanism.

Token burning is primarily connected to the BC Engine unlocking process. When users unlock $BC less than seven days after allocating it to BC Engine, 1% of the unlocked amount is permanently burned. Users who wait at least seven days can unlock the full amount without triggering a burn.

BC.GAME plans to introduce additional products and Engine Nodes while continuing to improve the visibility of reward distributions, token burns and other related on-chain activity.

The platform will also explore further uses for $BC across original games, sports betting and digital-asset reward experiences as the ecosystem continues to develop.
