Indian banking veteran and Greenback Capital founder receives Excellence in Banking & Finance award at the Indo-European Business Forum 2026.

MUMBAI, India and LONDON, Oct. 19, 2026 /PRNewswire/ — From beginning his career at ICICI Bank in 2001 to establishing a regulated investment firm in Dubai, Indian finance executive Amardeep Sharma has built a professional journey across continents. That journey received international recognition this week when he was honoured with the Excellence in Banking & Finance award at the Indo-European Business Forum (IEBF) Awards 2026, held at the House of Lords in London on 14 October.

Sharma, Founder and Chairman of Greenback Capital Limited, was recognised during a gathering of British parliamentarians, policymakers, diplomats, investors and international business leaders.

The award was announced by The Rt. Hon. Baroness Verma and presented alongside Kanishka Narayan MP, Britain’s Minister for Artificial Intelligence, and other distinguished parliamentary representatives, including Seema Malhotra MP, Dan Carden MP, Lord Uday Nagaraju and Lord German, as listed in the official programme.

For Sharma, the recognition marks a significant milestone in a career that began in India’s banking sector before expanding into international investment and financial services.

Starting at ICICI Bank in 2001, he developed experience across retail banking, corporate finance and investment banking. His professional assignments subsequently took him across India, Oman, Indonesia, Colombia and the United Arab Emirates. Among his senior responsibilities was serving as Country Head for Indonesia during his banking career.

The transition from banking executive to investment entrepreneur led Sharma to establish Greenback Capital, a financial services firm based in the Dubai International Financial Centre (DIFC) and regulated by the Dubai Financial Services Authority (DFSA).

Greenback operates across investment advisory, asset management, collective investment fund management and related financial services. The official IEBF award programme describes the firm as having more than US$6 billion in combined assets under management and advisory, reflecting the scale cited by the organisers in recognising Sharma’s work.

Beyond his investment-management activities, Sharma has also been involved with Credibila, a separately operated private-market investment platform focused on broadening access to investment opportunities through structured processes and oversight.

His professional journey reflects the increasingly international nature of Indian financial expertise, with experienced banking professionals moving into investment management, capital advisory and entrepreneurship across global financial centres.

The recognition came as India and the United Kingdom continue to deepen their economic relationship. The 2026 IEBF gathering also marked three months since the implementation of the India–UK Comprehensive Economic and Trade Agreement, with discussions highlighting the importance of technology, investment and commercial cooperation.

Kanishka Narayan MP addressed the gathering on the relationship between trust, technological progress and the future of India–UK cooperation.

Founded by Vijay Goel, the Indo-European Business Forum brings together business and political leaders to encourage investment, commercial partnerships and economic engagement between India, the United Kingdom and Europe.

The awards ceremony also recognised Indian singer Kanika Kapoor with the India–UK Cultural Ambassador Award, alongside leaders in business, renewable energy, healthcare and community service.

For Sharma, the London honour represents recognition of a career built across the Indian banking system and international financial markets, with Dubai now serving as the base for his investment business.

Greenback Capital Limited provides high-quality advice through an unbiased, transparent, and client-centric approach. Regulated by Dubai Financial Services Authority (“DFSA”), it partners with top tier international and regulated financial institutions globally, including Europe and Singapore, to meet the Investment requirements of its diverse Professional Clients.

InfiMotion Inside: Industry-Leading E-Drive Systems Power Multiple Brands at the Paris Motor Show

Published

on

By

PARIS, Oct. 19, 2026 /PRNewswire/ — The 2026 Paris Motor Show runs October 12 to 18 at the Paris Porte de Versailles Exhibition Center. InfiMotion Technology, a core force in China’s powertrain sector, does not exhibit independently — yet its electric drive systems appear across multiple automaker lineups, including nearly every vehicle on the Geely Auto stand, plus Lynk & Co, Zeekr, and Smart models. The Geely stand also hosts the European debut of the Monjaro EM-i alongside the EX2, EX5, and STARRAY EM-i. InfiMotion’s newest products also appear at Geely’s UTAC roadshow in France, giving European media direct access to its next-generation e-drive portfolio.

Technological Leadership: Setting Global Benchmarks

InfiMotion’s new off-road dual-motor e-drive — the only locking dual-motor system in its class — debuts on the Geely K011, delivering 220 kW per motor and combined peak torque of 2 x 4,500 N•m. Its differential-lock controller stacks output onto one side to free a stuck vehicle; per-wheel distribution reaches 9,000 N•m at one wheel, a 200% amplification. It is IPX8-rated, having passed iceberg impact and submersion tests.

The portfolio spans 400V to 900V. The TP501 900V co-axial dual motor drive uses a semi-solid die-cast magnesium alloy housing, cutting weight by 30%. The P600 Compact EDU, above 750V, achieves 92.4% CLTC efficiency through Mini-Pin winding and 0.2 mm ultra-thin silicon steel. Proprietary deep oil-cooling enables over 100 consecutive full-throttle accelerations without degradation. The off-road system is already in series production, and the 11-in-1 domain-controlled EDU launched in 2024 powers the Geely Galaxy E5, China’s top-exporting A-segment electric SUV.

Global Competitiveness: A Growing International Footprint

In H1 2026, InfiMotion ranked among China’s top three suppliers by shipment for electric motors and inverters. Its R&D network spans Wuxi, Shanghai, Ningbo, Hangzhou, and Gothenburg, with 1,000+ engineers including 100+ Swedish software specialists. Five smart manufacturing bases in China support a global supply footprint reaching Europe and Malaysia. Its CNAS-certified testing center houses the world’s first 30,000 rpm motor test bench, with validation spanning -60°C to 140°C thermal cycling, 1,500-hour salt spray, and 2,500-hour endurance runs.

About InfiMotion Technology

InfiMotion Technology is a global innovator in intelligent e-drive systems, providing full-spectrum green smart mobility solutions. Core products include electric drive systems, domain controllers, charging systems, and battery management systems. Tax Tops the List as Wealthy Brits Plan Their Exit, La Vida Survey Finds

Published

Portugal is the destination of choice for almost three in four, while Brexit is a major factor for nearly two thirds.

LONDON, Oct. 19, 2026 /PRNewswire/ — Taxation is the leading concern for 82.6% of wealthy UK investors considering a second residency or citizenship, according to new research from investment migration firm La Vida.

La Vida’s 2026 UK Investor Survey asked investors who have enquired with the firm about residency or citizenship by investment what is driving their interest in leaving the UK, and where they plan to go. The survey ran from 29 September to 8 October 2026.

“Tax continues to be the main concern of wealthy Brits looking to leave the UK, with over 82% of respondents citing it as a factor driving their decision making,” said Paul Williams, CEO of La Vida.

Wealth Tax the Biggest Fear

Wealth tax was the tax increase most likely to push respondents out of the UK, ahead of income tax and inheritance tax.

Political concerns (56.5%) and cost of living (52.2%) followed taxation as the top reasons for considering a move. Concern about crime and security fell sharply, from 59.3% in La Vida’s 2025 survey to 37% this year.

“The average wealth of respondents was around £9 million. That’s more than 20 times the national average, and no doubt a significant tax loss for HMRC for each one deciding to leave,” said Williams.

“The top 1% of UK income taxpayers pay around 30% of all UK income tax. The UK government needs to find a way to persuade such wealth to stay and encourage more into the UK.”

Portugal Pulls Ahead as Dubai Fades

Portugal was named as a top-two destination by 73.8% of respondents, up from 50.6% in 2025. Italy came second at 26.2% and Greece third at 19%.

Interest in the UAE fell from 13.6% to 2.4%, even though Dubai features heavily in coverage of wealthy Britons leaving the UK.

“Portugal is a top destination for many. La Vida’s clients alone have gone on to invest several hundred million euros into the Portuguese economy in the last decade through its Golden Visa program,” said Williams.

Brexit a Major Factor

Brexit is a major factor for 63% of respondents and a minor factor for a further 17%. La Vida asked about Brexit for the first time this year, after a summer of longer queues for British travellers under the EU’s new Entry/Exit System.

“Brexit is the one and only reason why I would have an interest in a second residency,” said one respondent.

“I don’t regret voting for Brexit but it has rather scuppered an easy move to Portugal,” said another.

Plan B, Not Panic

A Plan B or backup option was the most common goal, named by 60.9% of respondents, ahead of tax reduction at 58.7% and visa-free travel at 54.3%.

Support for a UK Golden Visa

60% of respondents said the UK should introduce a Golden Visa program to attract investment.

The Home Office closed the UK’s Tier 1 (Investor) visa to new applicants in February 2022.

However, both the previous Conservative government and the current Labour government have indicated that they could reintroduce a Golden Visa in some form.

With Prime Minister Andy Burnham looking to draw further investment to the country, the proposal is likely to gain further support heading into this year’s Budget and into 2027.

Notably, wealthy Brits back the idea. Half of respondents said they did not know who they would vote for if a general election were held today.

“The UK is being left behind not only by its citizens but by its competitors in the race for global wealth,” said Williams.

Notes to Editors

Methodology: La Vida invited more than 5,000 investors who have enquired about residency or citizenship by investment over the last decade to take part in its 2026 UK Investor Survey. The survey ran from 29 September to 8 October 2026. Respondents: 91% of respondents hold UK citizenship, 76% live in the UK and 93%, with a weighted networth of £9.7 million.Multiple answers: Respondents could select more than one concern and goal, and up to two destinations.Data and comments available: the full dataset, further respondent comments and year-on-year comparisons with La Vida’s 2025 survey are available on request.
