Huawei Cloud Named a Challenger in Gartner® Magic Quadrant™ for Cloud DBMSs

Published

on

SHENZHEN, China, Dec. 27, 2024 /PRNewswire/ — Huawei Cloud was named a Challenger in the Magic Quadrant for Cloud Database Management Systems, 2024 report released recently by Gartner, a renowned international research institute.

This report evaluates recognized global cloud database products vendors based on: Ability to Execute and Completeness of Vision. This Magic Quadrant will help data and analytics leaders make the right cloud DBMS choices in this essential market.

Challengers are vendors with strong, established offerings, but they are somewhat lacking in vision for the cloud DBMS market. It can be difficult for some vendors to improve both vision and execution at the same time. It is normal for some to have high scores for Ability to Execute one year, and high scores for Completeness of Vision the next. Challengers normally show strong corporate viability and financial stability, and demonstrate strong customer support. However, they lack some features needed to support the latest trends in the cloud DBMS market, such as support for a broad set of use cases or a roadmap for moving to multicloud/intercloud implementations. Although they may be lacking in relation to some of the market’s innovative concepts, Challengers have strengths in relation to many of the Ability to Execute criteria. They can become a threat to Leaders by widening their vision and by market innovation.

Huawei Cloud databases have been deployed in 96 AZs across 33 regions. Huawei Cloud flagship database products, GaussDB, GaussDB(DWS), TaurusDB, GeminiDB and MRS, use innovative architectures, enable full-stack software-hardware synergy, and excel in availability, performance, and security. They provide secure, reliable, and efficient cloud database services tailored to all use cases to help enterprises seamlessly move to the cloud.

Moving forward, Huawei Cloud will continue to strengthen their database products to accommodate more enterprise needs. Huawei Cloud plans to continue exploring foundational technologies to build a superior, more agile, and more efficient intelligent data foundation for stable long-term development of customers in diverse sectors.

Simple TA leverages the syllabus, LMS, and course content to deliver scalable, real-time AI support across every course

TAMPA, Fla., April 21, 2026 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ — Today, Simple Higher Ed announced the expansion of its product suite with the launch of Simple TA, an AI teaching assistant designed specifically for higher education. Built to deliver course-aligned, real-time support to students, Simple TA helps institutions scale academic support while maintaining a strong foundation in academic integrity and responsible data use.

With Simple TA we wanted to help scale personalized student support, without scaling instructor workload. – Wes Miller, CEO, Simple Higher Ed

Trusted by nearly 600 colleges and universities nationwide, Simple Higher Ed continues to focus on purpose-built solutions that simplify academic operations and support both faculty and students through one connected platform.

Simple TA introduces a new layer of academic support that is available to students at any time. Integrated directly into the Learning Management System (LMS) via LTI, each course is equipped with its own personalized AI teaching assistant grounded in the syllabus, course materials, and instructor-provided content. This ensures that responses stay relevant, accurate, and aligned with how each course is actually taught.

The platform is built with a flexible bring-your-own-key approach, allowing institutions to use their preferred AI provider, including OpenAI, Google, or Anthropic. This gives colleges and universities the ability to align AI usage with their own policies and technology strategies, while keeping course data within their existing ecosystem.

Simple TA also reinforces academic integrity by focusing on course-aware responses rather than open-ended generation. Students receive guidance that reflects real course data and instructor expectations, helping reduce confusion and keeping learning aligned with course objectives.

Beyond student support, Simple TA provides insight into how students engage with course content. Reporting tools allow instructional designers and academic leaders to identify patterns in student questions, uncover areas where expectations may be unclear, and continuously improve course design. This enables institutions to move from reactive support to proactive, data-informed improvement across programs.

When combined with Simple Syllabus and Simple Prep, Simple TA completes a connected academic ecosystem. Simple Syllabus ensures consistency and clarity through structured, accessible syllabi. Simple Prep streamlines course readiness and validation. Simple TA adds an active layer of AI course support that is grounded in course content and aligned with institutional priorities.

Together, these solutions create a more consistent student experience, a more sustainable faculty workload, and a scalable approach to supporting learning across every course.

Survey of 330 Technology Sector Organizations Reveals Significant Execution Gap Between OKR Adoption and Value Capture

TALLINN, Estonia, April 21, 2026 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ — OKRs Tool, a goal-setting platform built for growing teams, today released The ROI of OKRs: 2026 Benchmark Report, the first study to quantify the financial return on investment from OKR programs across the technology sector.

The business case for OKRs has lived in anecdote for too long, We wanted to put a number on it — a transparent, defensible number with the methodology fully visible.

The report, based on survey data from 330 active OKR users fielded in March and April 2026, finds that organizations implementing OKRs with consistent execution generate an estimated $25 in return for every $1 invested — a ratio derived from median self-reported revenue growth of 15% applied against an estimated annual implementation cost of $40,000.

Key findings include:

98% of organizations report measurable revenue growth impact from OKRs62% saw measurable ROI within a single quarter of adoption95% report a reduction in wasted or misaligned work86% report shortened decision cyclesYet only 5% of teams have more than 75% of their weekly work tied to an OKR

“The business case for OKRs has lived in anecdote for too long,” said Steven Macdonald, founder of OKRs Tool. “We wanted to put a number on it — a transparent, defensible number with the methodology fully visible. The 1:25 return is based on what organizations are already achieving before most of them have even figured out how to run OKRs well. The upside from closing the execution gap is significant.”

The report also identifies what separates high-performing OKR programs from those that stall — consistent weekly leadership review, outcome-based key results, work alignment above 50%, and purpose-built software rather than spreadsheets.

One counterintuitive finding: organizations spending more than 30 minutes per week on OKR check-ins perform worse than those spending less, suggesting that intentional, focused engagement drives better outcomes than extended process.
