Iron Road Partners Names Risk Management Expert Michelle McCarthy Beck as Senior Adviser

NEW YORK, Feb. 3, 2025 /PRNewswire/ — Iron Road Partners, a leading regulatory consulting firm serving the investment management industry, today announced that risk management executive Michelle McCarthy Beck has joined the firm as senior adviser. Beck has a distinguished career spanning asset management, insurance, and banking sectors.

Before joining Iron Road Partners, Beck served as a Risk Management Fellow in the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission’s Division of Investment Management. In this capacity, she reviewed Form N-PORT and Form PF submissions, contributed to rulemaking, performed industry outreach, and assisted in enforcement activities. She also participated in examinations, focusing on areas such as derivative products, quantitative models and liquidity risk management.

With over three decades of experience, Beck specializes in derivative products, Value at Risk (VaR), liquidity metrics, enterprise risk governance, and regulatory requirements for risk management across the U.S. and international markets.

Previously, Beck was chief risk officer for TIAA’s wealth management business, chief risk officer for Nuveen Investments, and chief risk officer for Russell Investments. Her extensive background includes serving as chief market and operational risk officer for Washington Mutual Bank and senior positions at Deutsche Bank and Bankers Trust in the U.S. and Europe, where she managed risk functions.

Beck received a master’s degree in government from Harvard University and a bachelor’s degree in political science from the University of Washington.
