Givebutter Surpasses $5 Billion in Donations Processed, Demonstrating Explosive Growth in Nonprofit Fundraising

Published

on

WASHINGTON, March 6, 2025 /PRNewswire/ — Givebutter, the rapidly expanding nonprofit fundraising and donor management platform, today announced it has processed $5 billion in donations since its founding in 2016. This milestone underscores the company’s exponential growth and its increasing dominance in the digital fundraising space.

This achievement marks a significant acceleration for Givebutter. Just seven months ago, the platform celebrated reaching $2 billion in processed donations, and seven months prior to that, it surpassed the $1 billion mark. This rapid doubling and subsequent doubling again of processed donations highlights the platform’s increasing popularity and effectiveness among nonprofit organizations.

Givebutter’s comprehensive suite of free fundraising tools, including customizable donation forms, event ticketing, peer-to-peer fundraising, and donor management, has resonated strongly with nonprofits of all sizes. The platform’s user-friendly interface and commitment to providing accessible, powerful tools have fueled its rapid adoption. And, unlike traditional fundraising software that charges high subscription fees, Givebutter’s unique tip-or-fee model ensures that more funds go directly to nonprofits—one of the many reasons it has become the most-loved platform for fundraising.

“The nonprofit sector is huge and growing. Digital fundraising is the future, and Givebutter is leading the charge,” said Max Friedman, co-founder and CEO of Givebutter. “We’re incredibly proud of the impact we’ve made in empowering nonprofits to raise more funds and build stronger relationships with their donors. Reaching $5 billion is a testament to the hard work of our team and the trust that thousands of nonprofits have placed in our platform.”

As legacy fundraising software struggles to keep pace with the evolving needs of modern nonprofits, Givebutter’s rapid adoption underscores its position as the preferred choice for digital-first organizations. Givebutter’s growth is driven by its focus on innovation and its commitment to providing a seamless and engaging fundraising experience for both nonprofits and donors.

For nonprofits like the Hawai’i Community Foundation, which has raised over $196M on Givebutter, this milestone isn’t just about numbers—it’s about impact. Their Maui Strong Fund has directly supported over 200 local programs established for those affected by the devastating Maui fires.

Givebutter continues to invest in expanding its platform and enhancing its features to meet the evolving needs of the nonprofit sector. With its continued momentum, the company is setting a new standard for nonprofit fundraising and redefining how changemakers connect with their supporters.

About Givebutter:

Givebutter is the easiest-to-use, all-in-one nonprofit fundraising and CRM platform, empowering millions of changemakers to raise more, pay less, and give better. Nonprofits use Givebutter to bring together multiple categories of tools, including donation forms, fundraising campaigns, events, auctions, donor management (CRM), email, and more. And thanks to a 100% transparent tip-or-fee model, Givebutter’s core fundraising features are free. As the #1 rated nonprofit software company on G2 across multiple categories, Givebutter is on a mission to power the next billion changemakers. For more information, visit givebutter.com.
