CAMBRIDGE, Mass., March 19, 2025 /PRNewswire/ — Learning Blade powered by eDynamic Learning, a leading STEM career awareness platform for grades 5–9, is collaborating with the U.S. Navy’s Maritime Industrial Base (MIB) Program and BlueForge Alliance (BFA) to inspire the next generation of maritime manufacturing professionals. As part of this collaboration, these organizations have partnered with the MIT Edgerton Center and the MIT Sea Grant underwater robotics initiative to provide eighth-grade students from Arthur W. Coolidge Middle School (Reading Public Schools) with an immersive, hands-on experience exploring cutting-edge technologies and career pathways in the maritime industry.

On Wednesday, March 12, 2025, students visited the MIT Edgerton Center. During the visit, students toured the facility, participated in do-it-yourself (DIY) marine science experiments, and worked in pairs to build, test, and deploy their own SeaPerch remotely operated vehicles (ROVs). This experience bridges classroom learning with real-world applications, reinforcing the importance of STEM education for national progress, security, and workforce development.

“When students get to build and test technology like underwater robots, it transforms STEM from an abstract concept into something tangible and thrilling. These collaborations inspire students to dream bigger and pursue careers they might never have considered.” Stated Jerry Wooden, CEO of eDynamic Learning, parent company of Learning Blade, emphasizing the power of industry-education partnerships.

“Experiences like these help students see the real-world impact of their studies,” said Carrie Curtis, Ph.D., Education Initiatives Lead, U.S. Navy Maritime Industrial Base Program. “By stepping into a leading research environment, they can better visualize the exciting future that STEM careers can offer.”

Students were able to interact with key industry and academic leaders at the MIT Edgerton Center. The hands-on experiences and access to experts provided insights into the skills and training needed for careers in submarine manufacturing and maritime technology.

“Hands-on experiences like building and testing ROVs are invaluable in showing students the exciting potential of maritime robotics,” said Andrew Bennett, Ph.D., MIT Sea Grant Education Administrator and SeaPerch program lead. “We hope this opportunity inspires students to see themselves as future innovators and problem-solvers in ocean technology.”

This initiative is part of Learning Blade’s ongoing effort to expose students to high-demand career pathways. Through educational materials, such as the “Beneath the Waves” mission, and other experiential learning opportunities, students will gain valuable insights to guide their future educational and career decisions.

DataLogix AI Launches Workplace Video Resources for Businesses Exploring AI and Robotics Training

New calculator, business owner guide and inquiry form help companies assess workplace video alongside existing business records.

UNION, N.J., Nov. 7, 2026 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ — DataLogix AI, a division of Trailblaze Solutions LLC, has launched online resources to help business owners explore first-person workplace video for AI and robotics training. The new resources include a workplace-video overview, an adjustable revenue calculator, a business owner guide and an inquiry form for discussing potential fit.

The launch adds a second starting point alongside DataLogix AI’s existing focus on licensing business records. Owners can compare written operating history, such as internal email, chat, tickets and project records, with newly recorded footage showing the hands, tools and steps involved in approved physical tasks. Businesses with both types of activity can explore each separately.

The workplace-video resources describe possible tasks in areas including warehousing, maintenance, construction, production and vehicle service. These examples are discussion starting points, not confirmed eligible categories. The guidance asks owners to review participant consent, recording permissions, safety, equipment and footage acceptance criteria before beginning.

The calculator models a four-week scenario using the number of participating workers, accepted recording hours per worker and an assumed payment rate. Owners can optionally enter employee compensation and other business costs. All figures are illustrative. The calculator does not establish an offered rate, forecast earnings or determine eligibility, and a result after entered deductions is not net profit.

The accompanying guide explains how the two opportunities differ in preparation, rights and economics. It includes questions about who may approve participation, what can be recorded or licensed, who may receive the material and how payment would be determined. Owners can review the resources without uploading company records or workplace footage.

Businesses interested in learning more can use the inquiry form to describe their company and the opportunity they would like to discuss. An inquiry is not enrollment, recording permission or a payment offer. Program availability, equipment and commercial terms require separate confirmation, and payment may be zero.

Society of Women Engineers event introduced young people to science, technology and potential careers in engineering

BOSTON, Nov. 7, 2026 /PRNewswire/ — For young people curious about how things work, Boston’s Seaport District became a place of discovery Saturday as students explored the possibilities of engineering through interactive demonstrations, hands-on activities and conversations with professionals from around the world.

The SWENext Innovation Expo, hosted by the Society of Women Engineers (SWE), brought science, technology, engineering and mathematics out of the classroom and into the Westin Boston Seaport District, where students ages 5 to 18 had the opportunity to explore STEM fields in an engaging, accessible environment.

The free, half-day event was part of WE26, the Society of Women Engineers’ annual international conference, held November 5–7 in Boston.

The Expo was designed to introduce younger students to engineering through hands-on demonstrations and activities while providing teenagers with opportunities to explore educational pathways and potential careers in STEM.

For elementary school students, the focus was on experimentation, problem-solving and discovery. Interactive activities encouraged children to explore engineering concepts while demonstrating how science and technology influence everyday life.

Older students had opportunities to connect with professional engineers, SWE members and representatives of collegiate engineering programs. Those conversations introduced students to engineering degree programs, scholarships, tutoring resources and career possibilities they might not otherwise have considered.

The event also offered parents, teachers and other STEM advocates information about educational resources, classroom activities and programs designed to help young people continue exploring science and engineering beyond the Expo.

Although the Society of Women Engineers has long focused on advancing women in engineering and technology, the Innovation Expo welcomed students of all genders, reflecting the organization’s broader commitment to expanding access to STEM education.

The event highlighted the importance of introducing students to engineering at an early age, before they begin making decisions about college majors and career paths. By connecting young people with working engineers and college students, the Expo was designed to make engineering more approachable and demonstrate the variety of opportunities available in technical fields.

The Boston event also provided an opportunity for engineering professionals attending WE26 to engage directly with the local community and share their experiences with students who may represent the next generation of innovators.

For the Society of Women Engineers, the Expo was an extension of its mission to inspire and support future engineers while expanding awareness of the profession.

And for the young people who participated, the event offered an introduction to a field where curiosity, creativity and problem-solving can lead to discoveries that shape the future.
