Nurses Are Burned Out and Fed Up: 96% Have Considered Quitting, New Survey Reveals

Despite 94% saying they’d still choose the profession, new data from MyPerfectResume highlights the crushing workload, understaffing, and emotional toll pushing nurses to the brink

GUAYNABO, Puerto Rico, May 5, 2025 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ — A new nationwide survey of nearly 900 U.S. nurses reveals an unsustainable crisis in American healthcare: 96% have considered leaving the profession, and 83% feel burned out at least weekly. While 94% say they’d still choose nursing again, and 97% report overall career satisfaction, these numbers expose a troubling disconnect—nurses are passionate about their work, but systemic failures are pushing them past their limits.

This new data from MyPerfectResume®, a leading resource for resume and career advice, shows that nurses are working unpaid hours, juggling side jobs, and absorbing the emotional weight of an under-resourced profession—all while delivering critical patient care.

Key Findings – A Profession Under Pressure

96% have seriously considered leaving the profession at some point in their careers57% of nurses frequently consider leaving the profession83% report feeling burned out at least weekly, with 36% saying they feel burned out every shift9 in 10 nurses report seeing an increase in nurse turnover at their workplace56% say they are more understaffed than they were in previous years48% say staffing shortages significantly impact patient care quality92% have taken on additional jobs or side gigs to supplement their income as a nurse

“Nurses love what they do—but they are drowning under the pressure,” said Jasmine Escalera, career expert at MyPerfectResume. “This isn’t just about morale—it’s about patient safety, workforce sustainability, and systemic failure. If we want to keep nurses in the workforce, we need to stop applauding their resilience and start removing the burdens that demand it.”

Nursing Passion Persists—But the System Is Cracking
Most nurses cite personal, meaningful reasons for choosing the field:

32% chose nursing out of a passion for helping and caring for patients25% were drawn to medical science and patient care52% say they are very satisfied with their career45% say they are somewhat satisfied

Yet even with this dedication, 57% frequently think about leaving—not because they’ve lost heart, but because they’re losing support.

Burnout Is Not the Exception—It’s the Norm

47% feel burned out a few times a week36% feel burned out every shift63% say their employer has tried to address burnout, and one-third say those efforts don’t help

Top burnout drivers include:

37% – lack of mental health support36% – workplace safety concerns34% – long shifts and mandatory overtime

Why Nurses Are Ready to Walk Away
When asked why they’ve considered leaving, nurses pointed to system-level issues, not personal dissatisfaction:

30% – overwhelming workload and long hours28% – limited career advancement opportunities23% – ongoing stress and emotional strain

56% of nurses would consider going back to school or obtaining new certifications to facilitate a career change.

Staffing and Safety Are at a Breaking Point
Nurses aren’t just exhausted—they’re outnumbered:

56% say they are more understaffed than they were in previous years44% say their workplace frequently uses travel or temp nurses to fill gaps48% say staffing shortages significantly impact patient care quality

Beyond the Shift: Nurses Work Off the Clock
Nurses are subsidizing broken systems with their time, money, and health.

59% work 41–45 hours per week47% put in an additional 5–10 hours each week off the clock92% work side gigs to supplement their income, with 43% of nurses doing so year-roundNearly 1 in 5 (18%) purchase their own work-related supplies (e.g., scrubs, medical tools, PPE) on a monthly basis, with more than one-third (35%) buying these items multiple times during the year

3 Tips To Fight Burnout
Many nurses report feeling stuck, burned out by their current roles but unsure how to make a change. For those considering new opportunities, career growth, or even a shift within the field, MyPerfectResume offers professionally written nursing resume examples designed to help nurses highlight their strengths, showcase their experience, and take the next step with confidence.

To combat workplace burnout, nurses can try the following:

Prioritizing self-care and setting boundaries. Nurses can often put patient needs ahead of their own. However, consistent self-care is one of the best measures to prevent burnout. Nurses can ensure they are taking time for rest, eating healthy meals, and practicing mindful exercises like yoga and stretching. Establishing clear work and personal time boundaries can also help recharge nurses before their next shift.Building a support network to supply help. Burnout thrives in times of isolation. Seeking support is essential if any nurse is feeling the signs of stress or burnout. Nurses can ensure they share their experiences with those who can help them, like their supervisor, the Human Resources Department, or workplace counseling services. A strong support system can make all the difference in managing stress and well-being.Evaluating workplace culture before taking a new role. Any nurse considering a new position due to workplace stress and burnout must research any new employers for information on how they support a healthy workplace. During interviews, they can ask about work culture, provide support when encountering stressful moments or patients, and help nurses manage their roles and well-being. Choosing a workplace that values nurses’ well-being is pivotal to career and patient success.

LAS VEGAS, July 21, 2026 /PRNewswire/ — Hyperscale Data, Inc. (NYSE American: GPUS), an artificial intelligence (“AI”) data center company anchored by Bitcoin (“Hyperscale Data” or the “Company”), today announced that, as of July 19, 2026, it held 1,087.4527 Bitcoin representing an aggregate value of approximately $70.3 million based on the Bitcoin closing price of $64,691 on July 19, 2026.

In aggregate, the Company’s wholly owned subsidiaries, Sentinum, Inc. (“Sentinum”) and Ault Capital Group, Inc. (“ACG”), held 1,087.4527 Bitcoin as of July 19, 2026. During the week ended July 19, 2026, ACG purchased approximately 51.5000 Bitcoin in the open market. Based on the Bitcoin closing price of $64,691 on July 19, 2026, these collective holdings had an approximate market value of $70.3 million.

“We now hold more than $70 million in Bitcoin,” stated Milton “Todd” Ault III, Executive Chairman of Hyperscale Data. “The market remains completely disconnected from what we are building through our Michigan data center, our Bitcoin treasury, and our broader portfolio of operating businesses. Separate from the more than 1,087 Bitcoin we currently hold on our balance sheet, the market places zero value on the cash or the value of the other assets on our balance sheet. We will continue executing, growing our assets and highlighting the widening gap between the Company’s market capitalization and its underlying value.”

For more information on Hyperscale Data and its subsidiaries, Hyperscale Data recommends that stockholders, investors and any other interested parties read Hyperscale Data’s public filings and press releases available under the Investor Relations section at hyperscaledata.com or available at www.sec.gov.

About Hyperscale Data, Inc.

Through its wholly owned subsidiary Sentinum, Hyperscale Data owns and operates a data center at which it mines digital assets and offers colocation and hosting services for the emerging AI ecosystems and other industries. Hyperscale Data’s other wholly owned subsidiary, ACG, is a hybrid private equity firm and operating company that acquires, finances, builds and actively manages businesses across financial services, digital assets, industrial services, hospitality, defense technologies and other sectors.

Hyperscale Data currently expects the divestiture of ACG (the “Divestiture”) to occur in the second quarter of 2027. Upon the occurrence of the Divestiture, the Company would be an owner and operator of data centers to support high-performance computing services, as well as a holder of the digital assets. Until the Divestiture occurs, the Company will continue to provide, through ACG and its wholly and majority-owned subsidiaries and strategic investments, mission-critical products that support a diverse range of industries, including an AI software platform, equipment rental services, defense/aerospace, industrial, automotive and hotel operations. In addition, ACG is actively engaged in private credit and structured finance through Ault Lending, LLC, a licensed lending subsidiary. Hyperscale Data’s headquarters are located at 11411 Southern Highlands Parkway, Suite 190, Las Vegas, NV 89141.

On December 23, 2024, the Company issued one million (1,000,000) shares of a newly designated Series F Exchangeable Preferred Stock (the “Series F Preferred Stock”) to all common stockholders and holders of the Series C Preferred Stock on an as-converted basis. The Divestiture will occur through the voluntary exchange of the Series F Preferred Stock for shares of Class A Common Stock and Class B Common Stock of ACG (collectively, the “ACG Shares”). The Company reminds its stockholders that only those holders of the Series F Preferred Stock who agree to surrender such shares, and do not properly withdraw such surrender, in the exchange offer through which the Divestiture will occur, will be entitled to receive the ACG Shares and consequently be shareholders of ACG upon the occurrence of the Divestiture.

ZELLERFELD GIVES FOOTWEAR ITS SPOTIFY MOMENT

Published

on

By

Music had Spotify. Video had YouTube. Zellerfeld has launched footwear’s biggest update, and the digitalization of footwear never felt so good.

AUSTIN, Texas, July 21, 2026
/PRNewswire/ — After years of bringing global brands and thousands of creators into its printed footwear revolution, Zellerfeld is rolling out its biggest platform update yet. The new Zellerfeld brings the marketplace, the product and the process into one beautifully connected experience, making printed footwear feel like it has finally caught up to the rest of the digital world. Browsing, discovering and experiencing printed shoes has never felt this good.

That experience is powered by personalized discovery, smarter search and live rankings for creators and products, rising with real demand instead of fading after a single launch moment. For the first time, footwear becomes digitally searchable, rankable and alive.

ZellerFIT is becoming the platform’s beating heart. The system lets users create a Fit Profile from a foot scan and personalisation choices. Once created, that Fit Profile can be carried across Zellerfeld products, creators and future shoes. Fit stops being a size guessed at checkout. It becomes personal, saved and portable, something that belongs to the user and moves with every shoe they print.

Powering the platform is Zellerfeld’s full-stack 3D-printed footwear infrastructure. Across Austin, Texas, and Hamburg, Germany, Zellerfeld now operates the largest and most advanced footwear creation facilities in the world, with thousands of printing units turning digital designs into physical shoes without moulds, stitching or assembly. At the push of a button, digital design, personal fit and physical production connect in one system.

“We always said we wanted to digitize footwear in the same way music and video were digitized, and the last years were spent building the fulfillment infrastructure to make that possible,” said Cornelius Schmitt, CEO and Co-Founder of Zellerfeld. “We never had time to give our users or creators the platform they deserved. Now we finally have. The new Zellerfeld looks so beautiful I can’t stop looking at it. I can’t wait to see what product category we digitize after footwear. Handbags? Glasses? I’m sure we’ll take one step at a time.”

The new platform also teases Zellerfeld subscription access. Major brands have tried to make footwear membership work, but most could only add perks on top of the same old retail model with limited designs. Zellerfeld makes footwear subscription work at scale: one platform, four pairs a year, a growing universe of designs, the same personal fit across every product and shoes printed on demand.

“Why would you go into a shoe store with 100 designs that all look the same and don’t really fit,” said Cornelius Schmitt, CEO and Co-Founder of Zellerfeld, “when you could come to Zellerfeld for millions of beautiful designs from creators around the world, all made to fit you?”

For the best part of a decade, Zellerfeld has been building the technology behind printed footwear, proving the category through breakthrough products and collaborators across sport, fashion, design and culture. Its work has shown that shoes can be digitally designed, personally fitted and produced on demand at the push of a button, without the constraints of conventional footwear manufacturing.

The products proved the future was possible. The platform makes it real. Zellerfeld is changing how footwear is created, sold and distributed, bringing the category into its next generation. Music had Spotify. Video had YouTube. Now footwear has Zellerfeld.
