BERLIN, Sept. 4, 2026 /PRNewswire/ — TECNO, the AI-driven innovative technology brand, today launched the MEGABOOK T15 360 Series at IFA ShowStoppers 2026, marking the debut of its first laptop series with a 360° hinge and touchscreen support.

TECNO IFA ShowStoppers 2026 showcase also featured the 17-inch MEGABOOK T17 Ultra, TECNO’s first Intel Wildcat Lake-based laptop MEGABOOK K15S WCL, the Next-Gen Bezelless Concept Phone, the upcoming TECNO POVA 8 Pro 5G Tonino Lamborghini Limited Edition, and the TECNO CAMON Slim 5G.

MEGABOOK T15 360 Series: TECNO’s First 360° Hinge Touchscreen Laptop

The MEGABOOK T15 360 Series, comprising the MEGABOOK T15 360 and MEGABOOK T15 360 Pro, is designed around the increasingly fluid ways people work, study, create and enjoy content and dual demand for both tablet and laptop. The series delivers the flexibility to navigate diverse daily scenarios with a single device. It brings premium versatility and on-the-go convenience of convertible, touch enabled laptops for mobile executives, solopreneurs and business presenters.

Free from the fixed form of a conventional laptop, the MEGABOOK T15 360 Series features a screen that rotates smoothly through a full 360 degrees, allowing the device to adapt to different tasks and remain practical even in space-constrained settings. Laptop mode provides a familiar setup for focused productivity, while Tablet mode supports note taking, intuitive touch interaction and creative drawing. The device can also be positioned in Tent mode for convenient content viewing with limited surface space, or set in Stand mode for sharing ideas and presenting content.

With an all-metal body crafted using precision CNC machining, the device combines flexibility with a refined, durable design suited to use at a desk, in a meeting or on the move.

On the display front, both models come with a 15.6-inch 16:9 touchscreen with responsive 10-point multi-touch control. Optional support for an MPP 2.0 active pen adds greater precision to handwriting, annotation and other creative tasks.

Display configurations further distinguish the two models. On the MEGABOOK T15 360, a Full HD display offers a 60Hz refresh rate and 320 nits of typical brightness. Stepping up the visual experience, the MEGABOOK T15 360 Pro features a 2.5K 120Hz display with 2560 × 1440 resolution, 100% sRGB color gamut and 350 nits of typical brightness, delivering finer detail and broader color coverage.

The experience is further elevated with capable performance, flexible storage and lasting battery support. Across the series, configurations are available with up to an Intel Core Ultra 9 185H processor, providing the performance needed for multitasking and demanding productivity workloads. Both models use LPDDR5X memory running at up to 7467MHz, together with PCIe M.2 2280 SSD storage. A second M.2 SSD slot is available on selected configurations, providing additional room for storage expansion. For mobile use, a 70Wh battery is paired with a compact 65W PD GaN charger, supporting longer periods of use.

Beyond power, the series also delivers flexibility in connectivity. Support for up to Wi-Fi 6E and Bluetooth 5.4 is complemented by seven built in ports for external displays, storage and common peripherals. TECNO OneLeap extends that experience to smartphones, tablets and PCs for cross device collaboration.

Practical details further enhance everyday use, including a backlit keyboard with an independent numeric keypad and a fingerprint integrated power button for one touch login. Dual speakers with DTS:X Ultra support, a webcam and dual digital microphones provide a more complete setup for meetings, communication and entertainment.

The MEGABOOK T15 360 Series is set to arrive in Europe in Q4 2026, with the standard model priced between €899 and €999 depending on configuration, and the Pro model priced at €1,099. With competitive pricing, the MEGABOOK T15 360 Series aims to make convertible, touch enabled laptops accessible to a wider audience. For users who need a flexible form factor, intuitive interaction, capable performance and an expansive display all in a single device to cover diverse daily scenarios, the series delivers the latest technology at a price that broadens access.

Two additional MEGABOOK models extend the lineup for users with different priorities. For early career professionals and students, the MEGABOOK K15S WCL pairs the cost-effective Intel Wildcat Lake platform with a spacious 16:10 display, durable all metal design, 70Wh battery and 65W GaN fast charging, delivering reliable performance, ample screen space and sustained power for everyday work and study. This combination makes it a well-rounded choice for value conscious users. For performance focused users who also prioritize entertainment and shared home use, the versatile 17.3 inch MEGABOOK T17 Ultra offers up to an Intel Core Ultra 9 processor and LPDDR5X memory for demanding productivity, moderate gaming and creative editing. Its expansive 16:9 display delivers a more immersive viewing experience, while the 99.99Wh battery and 100W GaN PD fast charging support extended work, gaming and entertainment sessions.

Next-Gen Bezelless Concept Phone and Two New Smartphones Coming in September

TECNO Next-Gen Bezelless Concept Phone made its public debut at IFA ShowStoppers 2026. It completely removes the physical black edges of the screen by reworking the display architecture through new internal stacking, structural engineering and screen-packaging techniques. The true 0mm display border offers a cleaner, completely uninterrupted viewing experience.

Moving from future-facing concepts to upcoming products, the showcase also featured two smartphones shaped around distinct priorities: the performance-focused POVA 8 Pro 5G Tonino Lamborghini Limited Edition with iconic design language, and the ultra-slim CAMON Slim 5G with pro-level imaging and artful colorways.

The TECNO POVA 8 Pro 5G Tonino Lamborghini Limited Edition features iconic Tonino Lamborghini design language while upholding the POVA series’ signature all around performance across computing, imaging and AI. Its performance is driven by a dual chipset architecture comprising the MediaTek Dimensity 7400 Ultimate 5G platform and TECNO developed P1 Graphic Chip, supported by a 5K IceShield Vapor Chamber Cooling System. Full product details will be announced on September 4.

The TECNO CAMON Slim 5G brings CAMON’s imaging capabilities to a slim 6.39mm body. It combines artful design language, a pro level imaging system and practical AI features, all wrapped in one-of-a-kind artistic colorways. Each CAMON Slim 5G is not just a phone, but a work of art held in the hand. Full product details will be announced on September 7.

From the debut of TECNO MEGABOOK laptops to the upcoming smartphones, the lineup underscores TECNO’s push into new form factors and design innovation. It reflects the continued portfolio expansion of TECNO to deliver adaptable, intuitive experiences built for how people live, work and create.

How Cool Is Shenzhen? Just Ask Global Journalists Who Come to See It

Published

on

By

SHENZHEN, China, Sept. 4, 2026 /PRNewswire/ — “Shenzhen may well be the world’s No. 1 innovation hub. And together, Shenzhen and Hong Kong form the perfect endpoint of the modern Silk Road.”

That was the glowing verdict American economist Jeffrey Sachs delivered in Shenzhen just over a month ago, effectively giving the city one of the highest-profile stamps of approval in the world of development economics.

Sachs is hardly an ordinary commentator. One of the world’s most influential authorities on sustainable development, and for years a special adviser to the UN secretary-general, he knows a thing or two about how cities and economies grow.

In a recent exclusive interview with Zhi News (from Shenzhen Media Group), Sachs shared his in-depth views. The following is the full report:

when representatives from APEC economies come to Shenzhen, they are bound to be impressed. They will discover that the city is not merely a great place to find capital and business partners, but also a window into entirely new models of development—and perhaps a glimpse of what the future could look like.

After decades of trailblazing development, Shenzhen has more than earned that kind of academic attention. It is, after all, a city built on miracles and a straight-A student in the school of urban development.

The more you admire Shenzhen, the more you begin to understand why it deserves admiration. That, to me, is precisely where the real significance of Shenzhen’s development lies: not simply in what the city has achieved, but in what its experience tells us about where the world may be heading.

As a journalist, I would put it this way: Shenzhen is a mother lode for anyone trying to understand China. For global academia, and perhaps even more so for the world’s media, it is a gold mine of stories, ideas and opportunities.

Over the past year or two, a curious phenomenon has swept across Western social media and, increasingly, Western society itself: China-maxxing, sometimes jokingly described as “becoming Chinese.”

“You met me at a very Chinese time in my life.”

Yes, that viral internet phrase borrows its punchline from the Hollywood classic Fight Club. Earlier this year, The New York Times offered a wonderfully tongue-in-cheek description of the trend in one of its features:  If you drink hot water, wear slippers indoors or shop at Asian supermarkets, you may be Chinese, according to the internet.

But here is what caught my attention.

When it comes to Shenzhen—and China more broadly—Western mainstream media can sometimes be surprisingly slow on the uptake. Take China-maxxing. It only became a mainstream media story, splashed across newspapers and television screens, earlier this year—more than six months after a Twitter user, @Girl_virus, first posted about “becoming Chinese.”

To put it bluntly, China-maxxing was not exactly handed down to the mainstream media from above. The world’s netizens pushed it up there.

The New York Times even framed the provocative question this way in a headline: From Labubu to “becoming Chinese,” has China become cool?

Well, if the Times’ reporter comes to Shenzhen, I’ll make a pretty safe bet: he or she will come away thinking, Shenzhen is super cool.

So here’s my advice to my fellow journalists around the world: follow the lead of those pioneering scholars. Get closer to Shenzhen. Walk into Shenzhen. Stay a little longer. Look a little deeper. And then go farther afield.

There are simply too many fascinating stories here waiting to be told—and too many forces behind those stories waiting to be decoded.

And here’s the best part.

More than two decades ago, Shenzhen residents already had the confidence to put it into one unforgettable slogan:

“Once you come, you’re a Shenzhener.”

I suspect foreign correspondents arriving in Shenzhen today may discover their own version of that old Shenzhen experience:

Come for the story. Stay for the experience. Leave having become, at least a little bit, a Shenzhener.

And trust me, it’s going to be quite an experience.

Datamaran Appoints Bert Sinnema as Chief Technology Officer

Published

By

LONDON, NEW YORK and LEEUWARDEN, Netherlands, Sept. 4, 2026 /PRNewswire/ — Datamaran, the AI-powered risk and governance software provider, today announced the appointment of Bert Sinnema as Chief Technology Officer. Based out of the company’s Leeuwarden office in the Netherlands, Sinnema will lead Datamaran’s global engineering and product teams, including the engineering hub in Valencia, Spain, driving the technology and product vision behind the platform that helps organizations understand and manage evolving risks and opportunities.

As CTO, Sinnema will own Datamaran’s product vision, strategy, and technology roadmap, from setting direction to architecture, delivery, and the teams building it. He steps into the role at a pivotal moment for the company, as Datamaran deepens its use of AI across the platform to give customers faster, more decision-ready insights into risk, regulation, and stakeholder expectations. His mandate: lead the engineering and product organization, accelerate the pace of AI-driven product development, and ensure the platform keeps pace with the increasingly complex and fast-moving risk landscape.

A track record scaling product engineering teams

Sinnema brings more than 12 years of product engineering leadership experience spanning startups, scale-ups, and category-leading platforms, with deep expertise at the intersection of engineering, cybersecurity, and AI. He joins Datamaran from Eye Security, Europe’s fastest-growing cybersecurity company, where he served as VP of Engineering and built the product and engineering organization from the ground up, scaling the multi-hub international team 3x and helping the company reach a €60M Series C round.

Before Eye Security, Sinnema spent over three years at HackerOne, the world’s leading ethical hacking and bug bounty platform, rising to Director of Engineering. Earlier in his career, Sinnema founded and served as CTO of SmartLockr, a secure communications and privacy platform he bootstrapped, scaled across three countries, and took through Microsoft’s Ventures Accelerator in Berlin.

Building for Datamaran’s next chapter

“Bert has spent his career building engineering organizations from the ground up and scaling them through some of the most demanding environments, including as a founder himself. He knows firsthand what it takes to turn conviction into something real, and to keep adapting as the market evolves,” said Marjella Lecourt-Alma, CEO and co-founder of Datamaran. “As Datamaran evolves from ESG issue management into an AI-powered governance platform, Bert’s founder mindset and experience building teams, technology, and culture make him exactly the right leader to shape what comes next for our teams, customers, and partners.”

“I like to operate at the intersection of product engineering leadership and AI, where the hardest problems live, and the highest-leverage decisions get made,” said Sinnema. “Datamaran is applying AI to help organizations navigate a genuinely complex risk landscape, and I’m excited to bring my experience building and scaling engineering and product organizations to that mission. This is the most interesting time to be building in tech, and I’m looking forward to being in the middle of it with the team.”
