Best Mattress for Couples (2026): Sleep Number Recognized for Personalized Comfort on Each Side by Consumer365

Published

on

NEW YORK, Sept. 25, 2026 /PRNewswire/ — Consumer365 has recognized Sleep Number in its 2026 review of the best mattresses for couples. Every queen-size or larger Sleep Number mattress allows each person to adjust their side of the bed separately, so one partner can choose a softer feel while the other selects firmer support.

This addresses one of the most common challenges couples face when shopping for a mattress. Two people may agree on the bed size and style but have very different ideas about what feels comfortable. With Sleep Number, neither person has to settle for the same firmness level as their partner.

Best Mattress for Couples

Sleep Number – lets you easily adjust how firm or soft your mattress feels. In queen-size beds and larger, each person can choose their own firmness level.

Consumer365 names ComfortMode Lux as its main Sleep Number recommendation for couples. ClimateCool also receives recognition for couples looking for the best cooling mattress, especially when one person sleeps hotter than the other.

Each Person Can Choose Their Preferred Firmness

Most traditional mattresses have the same firmness across the entire bed. Sleep Number takes a different approach. In queen, king, and California king sizes, each person can make their side firmer or softer without changing how the other side feels.

This can make a meaningful difference for couples with different sleeping positions. A side sleeper may prefer a softer surface that provides more cushioning around the shoulders and hips. A back or stomach sleeper may feel more comfortable with firmer support. With separate settings, both sleepers can choose what works best for them.

Firmness can also be changed over time. Someone may want to adjust their side after changing sleeping positions, increasing physical activity, becoming pregnant, recovering from an injury, or simply finding that their preferences have changed. Instead of adding a mattress topper or replacing the entire bed, sleepers can adjust the mattress they already have.

The separate sides may also help reduce how much movement travels across the bed when one partner turns over or gets up during the night.

For couples, mattress size is an essential part of the decision. Queen, king, and California king models contain dual chambers for separate firmness control. Twin, Twin XL, and full sizes use one chamber and provide one adjustable firmness setting across the mattress.

How Sleep Number Adjustable Firmness Works

Sleep Number mattresses use air chambers to change how firm or soft the bed feels. Adding more air makes the mattress firmer, while releasing air makes it softer.

Firmness settings range from 0 to 100, with 100 being the firmest. Sleepers can make adjustments using the Sleep Number app or a compatible remote.

In queen-size and larger mattresses, separate air chambers allow each person to select their own setting. Smaller sizes use a single air chamber, so one setting applies across the whole mattress.

Foam layers sit above the air chambers to provide cushioning and pressure relief. These layers vary across Sleep Number models, which is why different mattresses can offer the same adjustable firmness feature while still feeling different.

Some models also include Responsive Air technology, which senses movement and makes small support adjustments during the night. Because this feature is not included with every model, shoppers should check the product details before purchasing.

ComfortMode Lux Is the Main Recommendation for Couples

Consumer365 selected ComfortMode Lux as its main recommendation for couples who want Sleep Number’s adjustable firmness along with added cushioning and cooling.

The 11-inch mattress combines foam layers with adjustable air support. In queen-size and larger models, each partner can choose a separate firmness setting.

ComfortMode Lux also provides additional support and pressure relief around the hips, which may be helpful for side sleepers. According to Sleep Number, it contains 25 percent more built-in cooling material than the standard 10-inch ComfortMode mattress.

The design allows couples to make two separate choices. Each person can select their preferred firmness, while both sleepers share the same cushioning and comfort layers above the air chambers.

The 10-inch ComfortMode offers a simpler option with pressure-point relief and built-in cooling materials. ComfortMode Lux adds more cushioning, hip-focused relief, and cooling while remaining below Sleep Number’s more advanced ComfortNext and Climate collections.

ClimateCool Offers Separate Cooling on Each Side

Firmness is not the only area where couples may disagree. One person may sleep comfortably while the other regularly feels too warm.

ClimateCool allows each person to control the cooling on their side of the bed. Each side can be set up to 15 degrees cooler, so one partner can use a cooler setting without changing the temperature on the other side.

Active cooling is available with Sleep Number’s ClimateCool and Climate360 mattresses. Climate360 offers both cooling and warming on each side, making it suitable for couples with very different temperature preferences.

ClimateCool may be the more straightforward choice for couples primarily concerned about sleeping too hot. Climate360 provides more temperature options for couples who want one side cooler and the other warmer.

Other Sleep Number Models Expand Pressure-Relief Options

Other mattresses in the Sleep Number range offer the same separate firmness settings in queen sizes and larger but vary in their cushioning, cooling, and pressure-relieving features.

ComfortNext is 12 inches high and provides added pressure relief around the hips, shoulders, and knees. ComfortNext Lux increases the height to 13 inches and adds lower-back relief, more cooling material, and improved airflow.

The 14-inch ComfortNext Ultra offers the highest stated levels of pressure relief, built-in cooling, and airflow within the ComfortNext collection.

The best choice depends on how much cushioning, pressure relief, and temperature control a couple wants. ComfortMode offers a simpler starting point, while Climate360 provides the most advanced cooling and warming options. ComfortMode Lux sits between them, combining separate firmness settings with additional cushioning, hip support, and cooling.

Consumer365’s recognition reflects a straightforward idea: the best mattress for couples should not force two people to sleep at the same firmness level. Sleep Number allows each person to adjust their side separately in every queen-size or larger mattress, while ComfortMode Lux provides a balanced combination of adjustability, pressure relief, and cooling.

Environmental science education study examining storytelling and AI-supported learning receives Editor’s Choice distinction

PHOENIX, Sept. 26, 2026 /PRNewswire/ — University of Phoenix announces that the peer-reviewed study, “Harnessing AI, Virtual Landscapes, and Anthropomorphic Imaginaries to Enhance Environmental Science Education at Jökulsárlón Proglacial Lagoon, Iceland,” has been recognized as an Editor’s Choice paper by Glacies.

Published in February 2026, the study explores how character-driven narratives and human-centered artificial intelligence can support adult learners in understanding complex environmental science concepts. The article was authored by Jacquelyn Kelly, Ph.D., associate dean, College of General Studies; Dianna Gielstra, Ph.D., full-time faculty, Environmental Science Program, College of General Studies; Tomáš J. Oberding, Ph.D., full-time faculty, Environmental Science Program, College of General Studies; Jim Bruno, MBA, associate dean, College of Business and Information Technology; and Stephanie Cosentino, MAEd, senior instructional designer, University of Phoenix.

The recognition highlights research conducted within the University’s “Principles of Environmental Science,” a course serving non-science majors and adult learners. The study examined the use of character-driven storytelling and AI-generated imagery, developed through a human-centered, faculty-guided design process, to help learners engage with scientific concepts and environmental systems.

“The cryosphere plays a critical role in Earth’s environmental systems, yet it is a topic often reserved for advanced scientific study. We wanted to create an accessible entry point into this important science. By bringing together immersive virtual landscapes, narrative storytelling, and human-centered AI, we designed a learning experience that helps adult learners see scientific processes as connected, dynamic, and relevant to the world around them.”

Innovative approaches to environmental science education

The study describes how the course uses a storybook-inspired format to introduce environmental science concepts through approachable characters and narratives. Characters such as Nico Nitrogen, Remi Rock and Waverly Water personify scientific processes and cycles, providing adult learners with accessible entry points into complex topics while maintaining alignment with course learning outcomes.

“Recognition by Glacies as an Editor’s Choice paper reflects the quality of scholarship being produced by our faculty and academic leaders,” said Briana Houlihan, MBA, dean, College of General Studies. “Research such as this demonstrates how innovative instructional approaches can help make complex scientific concepts more engaging and accessible for adult learners while contributing to broader conversations about teaching, learning and technology’s role in design.”

Researchers reported positive student responses to the instructional approach. According to the study, 87.1% of surveyed students reported enjoying the anthropomorphic narratives, while 82.0% agreed the approach reinforced systems thinking. Qualitative feedback indicated that narrative framing and consistent visuals helped learners visualize relationships among Earth systems and communicate scientific concepts more effectively.

Supporting engagement among adult learners

The authors present the work as a practical model for courses serving non-science majors and working adults. By combining narrative-based learning experiences with carefully guided AI-supported visual development, the approach seeks to make abstract scientific concepts more approachable while supporting learner engagement and understanding.

The Editor’s Choice recognition by Glacies acknowledges the study’s contribution to ongoing conversations about environmental science education, instructional design and the thoughtful application of artificial intelligence in higher education learning environments.

Tecpinion Launches Sweepstakes Industry Analysis Report 2026, Covering Market Insights, Growth, Regulation, Technology and Industry Future

Tecpinion’s 2026 report examines U.S. sweepstakes growth, rules, technology and future scenarios.

MIAMI, Sept. 26, 2026 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ — Tecpinion, a GLI-19 iGaming platform provider delivering technology solutions across iGaming, sweepstakes, prediction markets and other digital gaming verticals, today announced the launch of its new industry report, “Sweepstakes Industry Analysis 2026: Market Dynamics, Trends & Forecast.”

Sweepstakes industry Report 2026 – Latest Insights into Market Growth, Regulation, Technology and the Future of the sweepstakes/social Industry

The report is designed not only to examine where the sweepstakes industry stands today, but also to share practical market insights and contribute to a more informed industry conversation as the sector continues to evolve.

The research provides a detailed assessment of the U.S. sweepstakes ecosystem, covering market structure, consumer behaviour, business economics, regulation, technology, payments, customer acquisition, competitive dynamics and the 2026–2030 outlook. It spans 16 analytical sections, five market segments and 12 U.S. states, supported by nine strategic exhibits and 21 primary, regulatory, standards and company sources.

As the industry moves from experimentation toward greater professionalisation, the report highlights a shift in competitive priorities. Launch speed alone is becoming less important as operators increasingly need to balance customer acquisition, retention, payment reliability, fraud prevention, promotional costs, regulatory requirements and consumer trust.

A Sneak Peek at the Report

One of the report’s key observations is that a single official market-size figure cannot accurately capture the sweepstakes industry. Different estimates can cover very different segments. Rather than presenting an unsupported headline number, the report takes a segmented, scenario-based approach to understanding the market.

The report identifies five key segments: promotional sweepstakes, social casino, sweepstakes casino, prize-based gaming and B2B sweepstakes technology.

Technology is also becoming a major competitive layer. Modern platforms increasingly depend on PAM, payments, identity and age verification, geolocation, fraud detection, CRM, analytics, game aggregation and security. The report also explores practical AI applications, including LTV prediction, churn analysis, player segmentation, fraud detection, forecasting and customer support.

Regulation remains another defining factor. The report assesses 12 U.S. states, examining regulatory attention and legislative activity while highlighting the importance of jurisdiction-specific analysis.

Looking ahead, the report presents four 2026–2030 scenarios – professionalisation, high growth, regulatory constraint and technology-driven growth, and explores how regulation, technology, payments, trust and customer economics could shape the industry’s next phase.

Knowledge Sharing at the Core

For Tecpinion, the report is also about sharing knowledge, not just presenting data.

“We believe the industry grows stronger when knowledge is shared. Sweepstakes is evolving quickly, and operators and technology providers are facing many of the same questions around regulation, technology, payments, customer acquisition, trust and long-term sustainability. By sharing our research and observations, we want to contribute to a more informed industry where businesses can learn from one another, innovate responsibly and build for the long term.” said [Manoj Trivedi, Co-Founder & CSMO, Tecpinion].

The publication forms part of Tecpinion’s broader commitment to industry research, thought leadership and knowledge sharing across the evolving digital gaming ecosystem.

SINGAPORE, Sept. 26, 2026 /PRNewswire/ — Digital travel platform Agoda has unveiled its latest Repeat Visitor Ranking, highlighting the top 10 destinations across Asia that keep travelers coming back for more. Based on bookings made during the first half of the year, Agoda reveals that Tokyo has claimed the top spot for the first time, overtaking Bangkok. Rounding out the top five are Bali—ranking third place for the first time—followed by Seoul and Osaka. Da Nang, Kuala Lumpur, Fukuoka, Taipei, and Johor Bahru complete the top 10 list.

Some destinations have a way of calling travelers back for more. The chance to discover new attractions, revisit fond favorites, or simply enjoy the familiar surroundings keeps travelers booking again and again. Agoda’s data shows that these beloved places often attract repeat visits, with some travelers returning multiple times in just the first half of the year.

Tokyo’s rise to number one reflects its unique ability to offer something new with each visit, from seasonal spectacles like cherry blossoms to hidden neighborhoods and an unmatched culinary scene. Bangkok, ranking second, continues to captivate with its unparalleled wellness experiences, world-class dining, and cultural landmarks. Bali’s climb to third place underscores the island’s magnetic appeal with its irresistible beaches, spiritual retreats, and lush landscapes that enchant travelers time and again.

This year’s ranking also reveals the rising appeal of Japan and Vietnam as increasingly popular places people love to revisit. Beyond Tokyo’s ascent to the top, Fukuoka has entered the top 10 for the first time at number eight, signaling travelers’ desire to explore beyond Japan’s traditional tourist hubs to experience Fukuoka’s renowned ramen culture and laid-back atmosphere. Meanwhile, Vietnam’s Da Nang has climbed two spots to sixth place, with its stunning beaches, proximity to UNESCO sites like Hoi An, and excellent value drawing visitors back repeatedly.

Andrew Smith, Senior Vice President, Supply at Agoda, shared, “Asia is home to so many destinations that are worth revisiting, and what we’re seeing is that travelers are building relationships with their favorite cities. The shift with Tokyo’s rise to number one and destinations like Fukuoka and Da Nang gaining ground show that travelers are finding new reasons to return, whether it’s seasonal attractions, undiscovered neighborhoods, or simply great food. At Agoda, we’re here to make those return trips easy and rewarding.”

For travelers looking to revisit their favorite destinations or discover new ones, Agoda offers over 6 million holiday properties, more than 130,000 flight routes, and over 300,000 activities, all of which can be combined in a single booking.
