Hush Intelligence Athlete Threat Report 2026 Finds Athlete Targeting Has Become a Systematic Security Threat

Published

on

New analysis finds home burglaries, stalking, betting related threats and AI abuse increasingly share the same vulnerability: publicly available personal information

DETROIT, Oct. 1, 2026 /PRNewswire/ — Hush, the luxury private-client digital protection service, released a new report that finds professional athletes and their families are facing a rapidly changing threat environment in which publicly available information is increasingly being used for physical targeting, stalking, harassment and AI enabled impersonation.

The Hush Intelligence Athlete Threat Report 2026 examines 35 publicly documented cases, including 31 incidents from September 2024 through July 20, 2026. It was found that residential targeting was the largest category, followed by stalking and fixated persons, betting-related threats and AI enabled abuse. Hush notes that the public record likely understates the true scale of the problem.

According to Hush client Paul Rapier, Senior Vice President of Information Technology for the Detroit Pistons, “The security perimeter around professional sports has changed. It extends beyond the arena to the home, the family and increasingly the players, the coaches’ and the staffs’ digital footprint. Teams have to think about protection accordingly.”

Key Findings include:

Organized crews have used public information and social media to identify athlete residences and time burglaries around games.Gamblers accounted for 59% of serious online abuse against tennis players in 2025. More than 10,000 deepfake scam ads impersonating professional footballers were documented over a 12-month period.Families are increasingly drawn into the threat environment, with documented cases involving threats against spouses and children and residential incidents occurring while family members were home. In several stalking cases, online fixation preceded physical approach, suggesting there are opportunities to identify risk before an incident occurs.

“We keep treating the burglary, the stalker, the threatening bettor and the deepfake as separate problems: they aren’t,” said Mykolas Rambus, CEO and Co-Founder of Hush. “The common denominator is reconnaissance. It has become extraordinarily easy to learn where someone lives, who is in their family, where they will be and how to reach them.”

The report calls for greater focus on the athlete’s home, family and digital exposure, along with continuous monitoring and stronger information controls across teams, leagues and player organizations.

The Hush Intelligence Athlete Threat Report 2026 is based on official records, court filings, league and federation statements and established news reporting.

ioki expands into the US: first customer won, own US subsidiary established

Published

ioki has established its own US company and is building a local team • Market entry is the first concrete step of the international growth strategy • First ioki customer in the US: on-demand service for Georgetown University in Washington, D.C.

FRANKFURT, Germany, Oct. 1, 2026 /PRNewswire/ — ioki, a European provider of software for the digitalization of public transit, is expanding into the United States. The Frankfurt-based company has won Georgetown University in Washington, D.C. as its first customer in the US. Starting in October, the university will use the ioki platform for its new on-demand shuttle service.

ioki has set out to advance individual public transit in the car-centric US market, combining mobility simulation with digital public transport solutions. As in Europe, ioki primarily addresses public transport authorities that want to automate their services and expand them on a financially sustainable basis. To this end, the company has established its own US subsidiary and is building a local team to offer its public transit products in the US market over the long term.

Dr. Michael Barillère-Scholz, co-founder and CEO of ioki, says: “The idea for ioki was born during a visit to the US. We were founded and grew in Germany, and today ioki is active across Europe. Now we are coming back and launching our first US project with Georgetown University. This step into a new market shows that our platform works outside Europe and adapts to different local mobility conditions. We see a clear opportunity to help cities and transit operators in the US make individual public transit more digital and, above all, more efficient.”

Tobias Liebelt, CEO of BENTELER Mobility: “When BENTELER acquired ioki earlier this year, we named international growth potential as a central perspective. With the entry into the US market, we are now delivering on that promise. For us, ioki is a core building block of our strategy to support cities and operators in the economically viable integration of autonomous mobility.”

Public transit in Europe and the US faces similar challenges

In the US, transit authorities and operators face the same questions as in Europe: How can a service remain economically viable when funding programs expire and cost pressure rises? This is where ioki’s expertise in data-based transport planning and mobility simulation comes in, alongside its software platform for on-demand and fixed-route services. In more than 230 planning projects, ioki has analyzed and simulated billions of mobility patterns and trip distances, deriving efficiency potential in existing public transit networks. This expertise is as relevant in the US market as it is in Europe.

The Georgetown University project is expected to be followed shortly by further services running on the ioki Platform and by mobility concepts based on ioki Analytics.

The US public transit industry will have the opportunity to get to know ioki and its products for the first time at the APTA 2026 TRANSform & EXPO. The American Public Transportation Association’s (APTA) flagship trade show takes place October 4 to 7 in Chicago. HOLON and BENTELER Mobility will also be on site.

About ioki

ioki is Europe’s leading technology company for digital mobility and the market leader for on-demand transport in the DACH region. With more than 230 projects, we are among the pioneers in data-driven transport planning and operations simulation. With our holistic solutions, we digitalize public transport and drive the sustainable mobility transition forward – together with our partners from cities, municipalities, and public transport operators.

BLAIR, Neb., Oct. 1, 2026 /PRNewswire/ — Rightfiber, formerly Great Plains Communications, and a Grain Management portfolio company, today announced the completion of its previously announced acquisition of the American Broadband Holding Company, dba Fastwyre Broadband, business in Nebraska.

The acquisition builds on the momentum of the recent merger of Great Plains Communications and Ritter Communications to form Rightfiber, further expanding the company’s footprint across Nebraska and beyond.

Former Fastwyre customers in Nebraska are now part of Rightfiber, one of the nation’s largest independent fiber broadband providers, serving customers across 20 states with more than 28,000 route miles of fiber, enabling over 300,000 Fiber-to-the-Home (FTTH) passings.

Wolfbox Marks 7th Anniversary With New FlexPilot and K9 Pro Dash Cams

Published

The month-long “SHIFT INTO 7TH” anniversary campaign spotlights the FlexPilot Kickstarter rollout, K9 Pro launch, stories from real drivers, a women-led social media initiative and special anniversary offers throughout October

DALLAS, Oct. 1, 2026 /PRNewswire/ — Wolfbox, a leader in off-road dash cams and automotive electronics, is celebrating its seventh anniversary with a month-long celebration in October. Built around the theme SHIFT INTO 7TH — Miles to go. More to explore., the campaign looks ahead to the future of Wolfbox and the people who use its products.

Wolfbox is marking the occasion with the launch of two new dash cams, led by FlexPilot, a customizable four-channel mirror dash cam designed for off-road vehicles, trailers and RVs. Today, Wolfbox is also opening pre-orders for the compact K9 Pro dash cam.

Beyond the two product launches, Wolfbox will share stories from users and brand ambassadors, invite women drivers to take part in a new community-focused campaign, and welcome creators into the Wolfbox Central Laboratory for a behind-the-scenes look at how its products are developed and tested.

FlexPilot: Providing Drivers Views That Fit the Journey

Giving drivers more control to decide what views they want, Wolfbox FlexPilot dash cam system supports four customizable camera channels — cameras can be positioned almost anywhere inside or outside the vehicle, according to the driver’s priorities, vehicle and route. Users can arrange the camera feeds into personalized split-screen layouts. Instead of relying on the same fixed view for every situation, they can switch to monitor blind spots and other difficult angles.

This level of flexibility is especially useful off road, where drivers may need to check wheel placement, watch the terrain around the vehicle or get a better look at an obstacle that cannot be seen clearly from the driver’s seat. It also gives drivers of RVs, trailers and longer vehicles more options for monitoring areas that a standard front-and-rear camera setup may miss, such as the rear of a trailer or the hitch.

Interested customers can preorder a unit at https://flexpilot.wolfbox.com/products/wolfbox-flexpilot-reservation to score benefits such as 35% early bird savings, an extra 1 year of warranty, as well as a $10 gift card that can be used on the Wolfbox official website. Or follow the FlexPilot Kickstarter campaign progress at https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/wolfbox/wolfbox-flexpilot-multi-angle-monitoring-with-dash-cam.

K9 Pro: Urban 3-CH Dash Cam with Nighttime Full Color and Clear Sound Recording

Made for families with SUVs, commuters in urban areas and rideshare/ride-hail drivers, the Wolfbox K9 Pro is the first three-channel dash cam that captures full-color night footage instead of standard black-and-white, grainy videos.

The brand’s ColorAlive™ technology enables the 2.5K cabin camera to record in full color at night and in low light, with clarity enhanced by up to 55%. With both front and rear cameras, PlateCapture™ improves license plate visibility, allowing it to record up to 10 meters away — a critical feature if nighttime evidence is ever needed. The 4K HDR front camera also comes equipped with a Circular Polarizing Lens (CPL) filter to block harsh glare and prevent dashboard reflection onto the windshield.

Alongside its recording capabilities, K9 Pro’s AI-powered dual-mic noise reduction — an industry-first — and NoiseShield™ technology work together to capture crisp, clear sound and separate conversations from road and cabin noise.

This combination of product features heightens security measures within and outside the vehicle, from collecting evidence of accidents and confrontations to keeping an extra eye on vulnerable or unruly passengers in the back seat.

Wolfbox is opening pre-orders for the K9 Pro today, Oct. 1. Official sales begin in late October.

Wolfbox Witness: Stories Behind the Miles

Products are just one part of Wolfbox’s anniversary campaign. On the official website and social media platforms, the brand will introduce Wolfbox Witness, a video and blog series that goes beyond products to shine a spotlight on Wolfbox users and how they integrate Wolfbox technology into their everyday lives.

The stories will span different lifestyles and experiences, but each will return to a single, unifying idea: freedom looks different for every driver. Instead of defining a journey, Wolfbox is committed to giving drivers the tools to approach every journey on their own terms.

For one person, it may mean taking on a difficult trail. For another, it could be traveling across the country, working behind the wheel or simply knowing they are prepared for the road ahead. Rather than defining the journey, Wolfbox wants to give drivers the tools to approach every journey on their own terms.

Celebrating Women Behind the Wheel

On Oct. 5, Wolfbox will launch SHE TAKES THE WHEEL, a community-focused campaign that invites women to share their experiences of off-roading, overlanding, RV travel, professional driving and everyday life on the road.

Women have always been on the road. Now, their stories are taking center stage. Wolfbox is celebrating real stories from real women drivers: the places they travel, the decisions they make, and the challenges they handle entirely on their own.

Participants will be invited to share their own stories using #WolfboxShero and tagging @wolfbox_official on Instagram.

Beyond the October campaign, Wolfbox plans to build deeper relationships with organizations and communities that support women drivers. The company will explore ways to connect those communities with practical information, resources and products that can help people travel with greater confidence.

A Look Inside the Wolfbox Central Laboratory

From Oct. 15 to 21, Wolfbox will take audiences inside the Wolfbox Central Laboratory through a series of videos and blog posts, as experienced by creators and brand partners as they tour the facility.

The visits will give viewers a closer look at where Wolfbox products come from and how they are developed and evaluated. The company will also release its own dedicated lab video, offering a more transparent view of the work that goes into Wolfbox products. By showcasing its lab and manufacturing processes to outside visitors, Wolfbox hopes to give drivers a clearer reason to trust the brand and the quality behind it.

Anniversary Discounts, Double Points and Lucky 7 Giveaways

Throughout October, the seventh-anniversary celebrations will offer discounts of up to 26% on selected Wolfbox products through the company’s US website wolfbox.com and Amazon storefront.

Members of the Wolfbox loyalty program will earn double points during the event. Loyalty points can be converted into cash back at 4% of the purchase amount.

Wolfbox will also select 21 winners during October to receive anniversary gift boxes comprising exciting goodies such as a MegaFlow 200 air duster. Entry instructions, eligibility requirements and full promotion terms will be available on the brand’s US website.

To learn more about the SHIFT INTO 7TH campaign and explore anniversary offers, visit wolfbox.com. Customers can also shop the Wolfbox Amazon storefront and follow Wolfbox on Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, TikTok and Reddit for campaign news and updates.
