Macsen Energy’s Sodium-Ion Cell Crosses 1500 cycles in testing, retains 90% capacity at 1000 cycles

UDAIPUR, India, Oct. 5, 2026 /PRNewswire/ — Macsen Energy Private Limited has reached a milestone in its sodium-ion battery research. A cell made with the company’s proprietary Prussian White cathode material has crossed 1,500 charge-discharge cycles while retaining 90% of its initial capacity at 1,000 cycles in laboratory testing.

The result marks progress in Macsen Energy’s work to develop Prussian White cathode material and sodium-ion cells for applications where long operating life is important. It follows three years of research into the synthesis, refinement and electrochemical testing of the material.

“Crossing 1,500 cycles with sustained capacity and high coulombic efficiency, and retaining 90% of the cell’s initial capacity at 1,000 cycles, is an important result for our team,” said Achal Agrawal, CEO of Macsen Group, who also works as a researcher on the project. “This result comes from cycling an actual sodium-ion cell in our battery research lab. It validates the promise of our cell technology for long-life energy storage and supports the potential of our Prussian White cathode material to deliver sustained performance over repeated cycles.”

Macsen Energy’s research began within Macsen Labs Group, a manufacturer of specialty chemicals and niche pharmaceutical ingredients. While working on Prussian Blue as an active pharmaceutical ingredient used in the treatment of radioactive contamination, the team began exploring its reduced and sodiated form, Prussian White, as a cathode material for sodium-ion batteries. The initiative has since been established as a separate company, Macsen Energy Private Limited.

Prussian White offers strong potential for large-scale manufacturing using commercially established raw materials produced in India, Europe, China and other countries. Its production can be scaled to thousands of tonnes using existing chemical manufacturing infrastructure. The upstream raw-material supply chain draws on abundant industrial feedstocks, including natural gas, nitrogen, oxygen and caustic soda.

However, producing it consistently at the quality needed for battery use requires careful control of its composition, sodium content, water content, crystal structure and other material properties. Macsen Energy has developed a proprietary synthesis process designed to produce high-quality, battery-grade Prussian White in high yields, with fewer processing steps, cost-efficient production and reduced environmental impact. The company has also filed a patent application relating to this manufacturing process.

“Prussian White may appear straightforward to synthesize, but producing a material that approaches its theoretical capacity and maintains strong electrochemical performance over repeated charge-discharge cycles is a much more demanding task,” Agrawal said. “We see it as an engineered battery material, and our work spans chemical synthesis, material characterization, cell fabrication and testing.”

Macsen Energy is continuing its work on cathode and anode materials development, coin-cell and pouch-cell testing, complementary battery materials and sodium-ion full cells. The company has also allocated 10,000 square metres of land for a proposed Prussian Blue Analogue cathode-material scale-up facility and sodium-ion cell fabrication pilot line.

A closed-door preview was co-organised by platform creator Eleotri and ARC. The two will extend their partnership across the region ahead of VXA’s inaugural edition in Q3 2027.

SINGAPORE, Oct. 5, 2026 /PRNewswire/ — VXA (Vision, Exchange, Action), an independent Asia Pacific platform created by Eleotri, held a closed-door preview in Singapore today. It brought together senior leaders from government, enterprise and technology to examine how organisations and policy are adapting as AI, robotics and cybersecurity converge. The preview was co-organised with AI, Robotics & Cybersecurity Singapore (ARC Singapore) and also marked the industry body’s official launch.

Mr Tan Kiat How, Senior Minister of State, Ministry of Digital Development and Information, attended as Distinguished Guest.

In his address, Mr Tan said: “Innovation and trust have to advance together, and neither can be advanced or achieved by the government alone. We need different perspectives from around the table – from those who build and deploy technology to those who secure the technology and are able to consider its wider implications.

“I look forward to working with our ASEAN friends in the coming year as we embark on a new chapter, where ASEAN marks its 60th anniversary. Technology, including AI, robotics and cybersecurity, will inevitably be part of that wider conversation. Questions of how we harness new technology, manage the risks, build trusted systems, develop the capabilities of our people are ones that Singapore and all of us need to be focused on.”

AI, robotics and cybersecurity increasingly meet in the same factories, networks and public services, yet the leaders accountable for them often sit in different teams, budgets and forums. With IDC projecting AI spending in Asia Pacific to reach US$555 billion by 2030, the cost of that gap is rising.

“Decisions taken now will shape how these technologies are embedded across our economies and societies for the next decade. Government, enterprise and technology leaders each hold part of the picture. VXA brings them into one room, so the whole picture is on the table and they can work through it together,” said Dr Lam Pin Min, Chairman, Eleotri.

ARC Singapore to accelerate Singapore’s AI story

At the ARC Singapore launch, country chapter leads for Cambodia, Indonesia, Malaysia and Vietnam signed Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) to establish local ARC chapters. The signing was witnessed by His Excellency Dr Hotmangaradja Pandjaitan, Ambassador of the Republic of Indonesia to Singapore, and His Excellency Mr Tran Phuoc Anh, Ambassador of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam to Singapore.

Mr Chia Hock Lai, Co-Chairman, ARC Singapore, said: “Tackling AI, robotics and cybersecurity separately is costing governments and enterprises real value, and that cost is growing. With chapters now forming across the region, ARC Singapore will work with its members to build industry solutions grounded in trust and practical cooperation. VXA, which brings government, enterprise and industry to the same table, is a natural partner in that work.”

Action-oriented conversations

The preview’s panel examined how organisations are reordering the way they operate as these technologies converge. It focused on who holds accountability as AI moves into physical operations, how teams and governance are being redesigned to keep pace, and how enterprise experience can inform policy while frameworks are still taking shape.

Delegates also saw AI, robotics and cybersecurity working together at a technology showcase featuring Clairvoyant Intelligence, iAPPS Health Group, ST Engineering Cybersecurity and Strides Digital.

Across Asia Pacific, countries and organisations are moving at different speeds on the same questions. As VXA builds towards its inaugural edition in Q3 2027, Eleotri and ARC Singapore will extend their partnership across the region, bringing policymakers, enterprise leaders and technology executives from more markets into the conversation. Details will be announced in due course.

Basware Completes Acquisition of Trustpair, Strengthening Financial Integrity from Invoice to Payment

Trustpair will continue to operate independently, while the combination brings invoice and payment assurance into one lifecycle

PARIS, Oct. 5, 2026 /PRNewswire/ — Basware, the global leader in Invoice Lifecycle Management (ILM), today announced the completion of its acquisition of Trustpair, a leading payment fraud prevention platform, following the agreement announced in August.

The acquisition extends Basware’s invoice lifecycle management capabilities all the way to the payment itself: an invoice can be authentic, accurate and properly approved, but the supplier bank account associated with it may be fraudulent.

Trustpair will continue to operate independently, maintaining its existing platform, specialist focus, customer relationships, contracts, and support. The company will continue to support and expand integrations across ERP, treasury, procure-to-pay and payment platforms. Customers will continue to be able to deploy Trustpair across their existing finance environments, whether or not they use Basware. This open ecosystem strategy remains unchanged and central to Trustpair’s approach.

The First End-to-End Lifecycle Assurance from Invoice to Payment

The acquisition brings together complementary capabilities that connect invoice and payment assurance. Basware establishes the validity of the invoice by helping finance teams determine whether an obligation is authentic, accurate, compliant, and approved. Trustpair extends that to payment assurance by validating whether the supplier is genuine, the bank account belongs to that supplier, and the payment is going to the intended destination.

Together, these capabilities deliver financial integrity: a connected view of the financial decision behind every payment, linking the invoice and payment in one governed lifecycle.

As payment fraud increasingly targets supplier identities and bank details rather than the invoice itself, finance teams must establish trust when supplier data first enters the business, maintain it as information changes, and validate it again before funds are released. The combination of Trustpair and Basware makes this possible.

Jason Kurtz, CEO at Basware, commented on the completed acquisition:

“Trustpair has built a distinct capability around one of the most important control challenges facing finance teams today. An invoice can be authentic and accurate, but the financial outcome is still wrong if the payment goes to the wrong account. By bringing Basware’s invoice lifecycle management capabilities together with Trustpair’s payment assurance, we can help customers make that complete financial decision with greater confidence. Since we announced the agreement, customers have told us this is the missing piece they have been waiting for, and that excitement has only grown as we get closer to bringing our capabilities together.”

Baptiste Collot, Co-founder and CEO at Trustpair, added on the acquisition:

“Since announcing our intent to join forces, the market signal has been overwhelmingly clear: finance leaders recognize you can no longer dissociate the invoice from payment assurance without exposing your business to severe fraud. As payment threats become more sophisticated with AI, fraud prevention must be an active, connected layer across the entire invoice and payment lifecycle. While maintaining our independent, system-agnostic approach, we will tap into Basware’s scale, resources, and deep data foundation to innovate faster and continue building on our nine-year legacy of specialist payment assurance.”

For Basware’s 6,500+ customers, the acquisition provides broader assurance across the invoice-to-payment lifecycle. Longer term, the companies see an opportunity to combine Basware’s invoice and supplier context, spanning 2.5 billion invoices and 20 million suppliers, with Trustpair’s fraud-specific intelligence to identify risk earlier, automate validation and give finance teams a more complete view of what a company owes, why it owes it, who should receive the payment, and where the money should go.
