UK pathology provider Diagnexia chooses Sectra to speed up pathology reporting for the NHS

Published

on

LINKÖPING, Sweden, Oct. 12, 2026 /PRNewswire/ — International medical imaging IT and cybersecurity company Sectra (STO: SECT B) has signed an agreement with Diagnexia in the UK to deliver its service for advanced share and collaborate workflows. Diagnexia will now be able to receive, send and report on pathology cases digitally from NHS organisations that need support from external specialists. This supports the development of national telepathology networks in the UK and widens access to specialist expertise for patients.

“UK pathology has spent a decade building digital capability one site at a time. Sectra has already done the connecting work across more than 500 institutions in radiology. Joining that network means the groundwork is done before the conversation starts,” says Donal O’Shea, Chief Executive Officer at Diagnexia.

Diagnexia is a UK provider of digital pathology services and a diagnostic partner to more than 30 NHS organizations. It gives NHS services access to over 250 GMC-registered specialist pathologists for routine, urgent and specialist cases, backlog clearance and MDT attendance. Its services integrate directly with Trusts’ existing LIS and PACS. Diagnexia runs a UKAS-accredited (ISO 15189:2022) histology laboratory in Oxford and digital accessioning facilities in Oxford and Exeter, both registered with the CQC.

The service, Sectra Image Exchange Portal (Sectra IEP), is a cloud-based, vendor-neutral platform for exchanging and collaborating around medical images. It is already used by more than 500 institutions, mainly within radiology. Following a substantial modernization, healthcare providers can now use the service for advanced workflows. It is also open to specialties other than radiology, and customers can go beyond image sharing to manage workflows between organisations.

“Every new connection strengthens the network, and with Diagnexia now joining IEP, a national telepathology network is rapidly becoming reality. For hospitals already connected to IEP, the benefit is immediate: Diagnexia’s reporting capacity is now accessible through the same connection and workflows they use today. No new integration, no separate supplier onboarding, and no additional infrastructure. Hospitals can quickly tap into specialist expertise and additional reporting capacity from Diagnexia, helping them manage demand and reduce reporting backlogs,” says Jane Rendall, Managing Director for Sectra UK and Ireland.

The contract was signed in the second quarter of Sectra’s 2026/2027 fiscal year and renews annually, covering up to 100,000 cases in the first year.

NHS pathology services are handling growing case volumes with a limited number of reporting consultants, and increasing subspecialisation means the pathologist best suited to a case is often at another organisation. Sending work to external capacity providers today typically relies on bespoke arrangements between individual laboratories, including the transportation of physical glass slides. This slows reporting times and creates administrative overhead for both the sending and receiving laboratories. With Sectra’s service, a case can be created as a job directly from a laboratory’s worklist, delegated to a receiving organisation, and the completed report returned to the referring organisation’s own records.

LUOYANG, China, Oct. 12, 2026 /PRNewswire/ — A news report from CRIOnline:

The 2026 Global Mayors Dialogue • Luoyang opened on October 11 in Luoyang, Henan Province, China. More than 100 guests, including mayors and their representatives from 25 cities across 10 countries such as China, the United Kingdom, Italy, Argentina and Algeria, as well as representatives of international organizations, experts and scholars, and diplomatic envoys to China, gathered in Luoyang, Henan Province, China, to discuss new models for the development of civilized cities that integrate ancient heritage with modern progress.

At the opening ceremony, Zhang Yujie, Mayor of Luoyang, held exchanges and dialogue with guests from Algiers Province, Algeria; Mogilev, Belarus; Sesto San Giovanni, Italy; County Durham, the United Kingdom; and Irakleio, Attica, Greece. In addition, representatives of the participating cities jointly witnessed the release of the Luoyang Consensus on Urban Civilization.

Supporting events, including promotional exchanges and a gathering showcasing intangible cultural heritage, were held alongside the dialogue. During these events, Luoyang and cities from other countries held in-depth discussions on establishing sister-city partnerships, industrial cooperation, and connectivity in culture and tourism, promoting the translation of the dialogue’s outcomes into practical cooperation.

The event featured one main dialogue session and three themed scenario-based dialogue sessions. On the day before the opening ceremony, participating mayors spent a day exploring Luoyang: engaging with millennia-old civilizations at museums, experiencing China’s intelligent manufacturing in production workshops, and immersing themselves in the everyday life of historic neighborhoods.

Luoyang presented its approaches to protecting major archaeological sites, renewing the urban fabric of the ancient capital, promoting high-quality manufacturing development, and advancing high-level opening-up. These practical experiences offered the global mayors tangible, relatable and replicable references for urban governance worldwide.

Hoymiles HiOne All-in-One BESS Powers Thai Homes with More Resilient, Flexible Energy Systems

Published

By

BANGKOK, Oct. 12, 2026 /PRNewswire/ — Thailand’s hot and humid climate, growing household electricity demand and the need for greater power reliability are driving more homeowners to look beyond solar generation alone. Hoymiles’ HiOne all-in-one BESS system, paired with HiBox gateway, is helping households in Bangkok make better use of solar power, manage electricity consumption and maintain power availability during grid interruptions.

Meeting Thailand’s Growing Residential Energy Needs

For Thai households, hot climate drives heavy air-conditioning use, while high electricity costs and power interruptions create demand for systems that offer more than daytime solar generation.

The market is also moving toward wider residential solar adoption. According to the Department of Alternative Energy Development and Efficiency (DEDE), Thailand had 3,310 MWp of cumulative rooftop solar capacity by the end of 2024. In 2026, the government also introduced a residential solar feed-in program targeting up to 500 MW of capacity nationwide, allowing eligible households to sell surplus solar electricity to utilities at THB 2.20/kWh under 10-year power purchase agreements.

In this context, local installer COMSYS SOLAR has deployed Hoymiles HiOne systems with HiBox gateway across multiple residential properties in Bangkok. Configurations include 10kW or 12kW of solar capacity with 8kWh or 16kWh of storage, allowing each system to be matched to the household’s energy needs.

Flexible Solar-plus-Storage for Greater Energy Resilience

Hoymiles’ HiOne BESS integrates the inverter, battery and energy management system (EMS) into a minimalist, space-saving design. With maximum efficiency of 98.5% and more than 8,000 battery life cycles, HiOne combines efficient energy conversion with long-term performance.

New and existing batteries can be mixed through built-in DC-DC technology, with storage capacity expandable from 8 to 64kWh. Its AI-powered time-of-use (TOU) optimization adjusts charging strategies based on electricity prices and household consumption patterns to maximize self-consumption and reduce electricity costs.

The HiBox gateway serves as a central hub for whole-home backup, providing seamless off-grid switching to help keep household appliances running during grid outages. It also supports system expansion through an additional inverter, compatible third-party generators and PV inverters, as well as smart load management through its Smart Port.

Hoymiles’ HiOne helps Thai households make better use of locally generated solar power while adapting to changing electricity demand. The multiple installations by COMSYS SOLAR in Bangkok demonstrate how flexible system configurations can meet diverse household energy needs and support more resilient residential energy use.
