As Texas Data Centers and Commercial Facilities Expand, Marshall Agency Emphasizes the Growing Importance of Professional Private Security

Houston-based security firm combines law enforcement experience, off-duty police officers, and professional security personnel to deliver customized protection for Data Centers and Critical Infrastructure.

HOUSTON, Oct. 19, 2026 /PRNewswire/ — As Texas experiences significant growth in data centers, distribution facilities, and industrial infrastructure, the need for reliable, professionally managed physical security is becoming an increasingly important consideration for business owners and facility operators.

Marshall Agency, a Houston-based, family-owned private security firm with decades of protective service experience, is highlighting the importance of customized security solutions that address the distinct operational risks facing today’s businesses.

With a leadership foundation rooted in law enforcement, and direct experience providing facility security, Marshall Agency offers an approach designed around a client’s specific needs, including the option of off-duty law enforcement officers, or professional security officers.

A Different Approach to Private Security

For operators of data centers, fulfillment warehouses, industrial properties, and other sensitive facilities, security involves more than maintaining a visible presence. Protecting employees, infrastructure, equipment, and day-to-day operations requires coordinated planning, reliable personnel, and clearly defined security procedures.

Marshall Agency works with clients to evaluate their security requirements and identify the appropriate level of protection for each environment.

Depending on operational needs, the agency can provide off-duty law enforcement personnel or professional security officers, giving businesses flexibility in selecting security coverage suited to their facilities.

This model is particularly relevant to organizations managing valuable assets, restricted-access environments, large workforces, or high volumes of commercial activity.

Law Enforcement Experience at the Leadership Level

What distinguishes Marshall Agency is its leadership’s direct connection to the law enforcement profession.

Founded by Juan D. Perez, and currently led by President and CEO Martha A. Perez, Marshall Agency has built its reputation on the principles of discipline, accountability, and professional protective services.

The agency’s ownership and leadership experience within law enforcement, including constable-related experience, brings practical insight into security planning, incident prevention, and operational oversight.

“Effective security begins with understanding what a business needs to protect, and the challenges it faces every day. Some facilities need the presence and experience of off-duty law enforcement officers, while others benefit from a dedicated team of professional security officers. Our responsibility is to help clients identify the right solution, and deliver it with professionalism, accountability, and consistency.”

Supporting Texas’s Evolving Data Center Security Needs

The rapid development of data centers and large-scale commercial properties across Texas is adding new complexity to physical security planning.

According to a June 2026 analysis by The Texas Tribune, at least 248 data center projects were planned statewide, underscoring the scale of investment in the state’s digital infrastructure.

For operators of these facilities, physical security plays a role in protecting high-value equipment, controlling access, monitoring property activity, and supporting business continuity.

Marshall Agency’s security capabilities extend across multiple commercial environments, including:

Data Centers and Critical Infrastructure: Site-specific protection, controlled access, and facility security support.Warehouses and Distribution Facilities: Property protection, personnel monitoring, and security coverage for logistics operations.Industrial and Commercial Properties: Security personnel, patrol operations, and access management.Shopping Centers and Special Events: Visible security presence, crowd management support, and incident response coordination.Schools, Healthcare Facilities, and Community Properties: Customized security services appropriate to each location’s needs.

Through technology supported operations, including GPS tracking, digital incident reporting, and real-time communications, Marshall Agency emphasizes accountability and operational visibility.

Security Built Around Client Needs. Not One Size Fits All Model

As businesses evaluate their physical security strategies, Marshall Agency encourages decision makers to consider the importance of experience, personnel qualifications, site specific risks, and consistent management oversight.

Rather than treating every facility the same, the agency emphasizes matching personnel and security procedures to the environment being protected.

Whether securing a high value commercial property, supporting a large distribution operation, or providing a professional security presence at a public facing facility, Marshall Agency’s goal is to deliver dependable protection backed by experienced leadership.

Businesses seeking to evaluate their security coverage, or discuss customized protection options can contact Marshall Agency directly.

Can we produce low-cost omega-3s without relying on fish?

Published

on

By

GOLD COAST, Australia, Oct. 19, 2026 /PRNewswire/ — Southern Cross University researchers are aiming to halve the cost of producing omega-3 supplements to make these essential nutrients more accessible to pregnant women and infants in low-income countries, backed by the University’s first-ever grant from The Gates Foundation.

The research takes a novel approach: rather than relying on fish oil, the team is going closer to the original source of omega-3. Fish don’t produce omega-3 themselves – they accumulate it from marine microorganisms lower in the food chain.

Led by Professor Dirk Erler from Southern Cross University’s Faculty of Science and Engineering, the team is investigating how these naturally omega-3-producing microorganisms can be grown more cheaply through precision fermentation, including the use of agricultural and food-processing by-products as a source of fermentation sugar.

Omega-3 is an important nutrient during pregnancy and early life, supporting brain and nervous system development in babies. But the cost of supplements remains a significant barrier to access in many low-income countries.

“The main barrier for the uptake of omega-3s as supplements in pregnant women is the cost,” Professor Erler said.

“The whole objective of our project is to reduce that cost and make omega-3 supplements more available.”

The research team at Southern Cross University, which includes biomedical scientist Dr Nedeljka Rosic, Dr Shane McIntosh, postdoctoral researcher Dr Jasmine Haskell and PhD researcher Michael Ingram, is focused on growing omega-3-producing marine microorganisms known as thraustochytrids – or ‘throstys’ for short.

“By growing those microorganisms on land through precision fermentation, we have an alternative way of producing omega-3s that is both reliable and highly targeted,” Professor Erler said.

Precision fermentation allows the researchers to grow thraustochytrids under controlled conditions to produce omega-3 oils. The team is investigating whether expensive feedstocks used in the process can be replaced with lower-cost agricultural and food-processing by-products, helping drive down the overall cost of production.

The approach could also reduce reliance on wild-caught fish as a source of omega-3 oil and create a more reliable, scalable, and local supply.

For biomedical scientist Dr Nedeljka Rosic, the production challenge is ultimately about what greater access to omega-3 could mean for women and babies.

“As a biomedical scientist, my purpose is to find ways to use science to improve people’s health,” Dr Rosic said.

“This project is important because it aims to improve the health of pregnant women and children and reduce preterm births through simple dietary improvements.”
