“Healthcare data center demand is moving in two directions at once: hospitals are reducing general-purpose owned halls while AI, imaging, research and cyber-resilience requirements add denser, higher-value infrastructure. Our model shows AI genomics and research computing growing 16.71% a year and wholesale or build-to-suit capacity growing 14.01%, while the owned-site share falls from 60.0% in 2025 toward 45.0% by 2035. That makes compliant hosted capacity, AI-ready infrastructure and recoverability the strongest growth pools through the forecast period.”

How Big Is the Healthcare Data Center Market in 2026?
DC Market Insights values the Healthcare Data Center Market at USD 17.34 billion in 2026, 12.16% above 2025, as backup sites, AI clusters for drug discovery and leased halls for electronic health records are added faster than hospital server rooms close. The model places healthcare IT load at 3,300 MW in 2025 and projects it to double to 6,600 MW by 2035, with accelerator racks taking a larger share of the mix.

Why Do AI and Research Workloads Raise Healthcare Data Center Spend?
AI infrastructure changes the value of each megawatt. DC Market Insights estimates a conventional healthcare MW carries about USD 3.05 million a year of hardware, while an AI MW carries about USD 8.30 million. That premium comes from GPU systems, high-speed networking, large research datasets and the supporting power and cooling required for accelerated computing. The result is that market value grows faster than healthcare IT load as the accelerator share rises from about 5% in 2025 toward 22% by 2035.

Which Component Leads Healthcare Data Center Spending?
IT hardware remains the largest component, but colocation and hosting services grow faster as providers absorb EHR, imaging, backup and research workloads that institutions no longer want to operate in ageing hospital server rooms.

DC Exclusive: Hospital Data Center Exit Tracker
DC Market Insights tracks 14 named healthcare infrastructure moves from 2014 through 2026. Ten moved workloads to public cloud, two went to colocation and two built new owned sites. The pattern explains why owned data centers can lose share even while the overall market expands: general-purpose EHR estates leave older halls, while AI and research clusters arrive as new owned, wholesale or colocated capacity. The model therefore takes the owned-site share from 60.0% in 2025 toward 45.0% by 2035.

Yazan Al Homsi Invests US$500,000 in Toronto Drone Maker Arcanus Aerial Systems

Private investment comes as Arcanus builds out Canadian manufacturing capacity for autonomous aerial systems

DUBAI, UAE, Oct. 23, 2026 /PRNewswire/ — Yazan Al Homsi, a UAE-based investor and managing partner of Catalyst Communications DMCC, has invested US$500,000 in Arcanus Aerial Systems Inc., a Toronto-headquartered developer and manufacturer of unmanned aerial systems for defence, public safety and critical infrastructure customers. Al Homsi is an investor only and holds no operational, advisory or board role with the company. Other terms were not disclosed.

Arcanus is a Canadian-controlled company. It currently lists more than 15 platforms across heavy-lift, intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance (ISR), cargo, strike and counter-drone missions. According to the company, its published line-up includes:

AB 516e: a long-endurance vertical take-off fixed-wing aircraft rated for three hours of flight.AE 401: a counter-drone interceptor with a top speed of 300 km/h.AC 5250: a cargo platform with a 250 kg payload and a range of more than 2,300 km.

Alongside defence, Arcanus markets its systems for wildfire detection, search and rescue, Arctic sovereignty, border and maritime patrol, and pipeline and power line monitoring.

The company has spent 2026 assembling its domestic production base. In April, Arcanus signed a binding term sheet with Portugal-based Beyond Vision, granting it rights to manufacture, commercialize and support Beyond Vision’s unmanned aerial systems in Canada.

In June, Arcanus announced a five-year agreement appointing FeralX Systems Inc. as a non-exclusive Canadian contract manufacturer for several of its platforms.

“Canada has the engineering talent to build these systems at home, and recent years have shown how much depends on having that capacity domestically,” said Yazan Al Homsi. “What stood out to me about Arcanus was the manufacturing groundwork already in place: licensing, a production partner, and a range of aircraft that serves wildfire crews and search-and-rescue teams alongside defence customers.”

About Yazan Al Homsi

Yazan Al Homsi is a UAE-based investor and managing partner of Catalyst Communications DMCC, which he founded in Dubai in 2018. He was previously based in Vancouver, where he founded Founders Round Capital in 2017 and built a track record of investments in early-stage and small-cap companies. He earned a finance degree from McGill University in 2004 and holds the Chartered Financial Analyst designation.
