Polara Named Among Canada’s Fastest-Growing Technology Companies in the 2026 Deloitte Technology Fast 50™

Published

on

LONGUEUIL, QC, Oct. 29, 2026 /CNW/ — Polara, a leader in fleet electrification, supports organizations across North America with solutions ranging from charging infrastructure design and smart energy management through its Cleo platform to unlocking the value of electric assets in carbon markets.

With revenue growth of 560% over four years, the company is proud to announce that it has been named a 2026 winner of the Deloitte Technology Fast 50™ program, which recognizes the growth, innovation and entrepreneurial spirit of Canada’s top-performing technology companies.

The program recognizes the 50 Canadian technology companies with the highest revenue growth over a four-year period. To date, Polara has delivered 165 charging infrastructure projects, while its Cleo platform manages 290 sites, optimizing thousands of charging stations. In addition, nearly 150 electric fleets have entrusted Polara with the management of their carbon credits.

This recognition reflects Polara’s sustained growth and the expanding impact of its infrastructure solutions, including:

Delivery of New York State’s largest electric school bus fast-charging project for GVC Ltd.;Development of bidirectional vehicle-to-grid (V2G) infrastructure for Fremont Unified School District in California;Deployment of Canada’s first municipal vehicle-to-everything (V2X) charging station in Victoriaville, QC.

“This recognition is first and foremost a reflection of the outstanding work of our team and the trust placed in us by our customers, partners and investors,” said Sébastien Fournier, President and CEO of Polara. “Since the beginning, we have believed that the energy transition must be built on practical, cost-effective and scalable technology solutions. Being named to the Deloitte Technology Fast 50 is an important milestone in our growth journey.”

Polara helps its customers make the transition to electric mobility economically viable by adapting to the operational, regulatory and commercial realities of each market, supported by an integrated offering of infrastructure, software and services.

In carbon markets, eligible electric vehicles and equipment can generate carbon credits. Polara helps customers monetize these credits, creating a new source of revenue. This monetization opportunity complements the operating savings generated through smart charging and further strengthens the overall business case for the energy transition.

At the heart of this growth is Cleo, which serves as the intelligence layer connecting vehicles, charging stations, buildings and power grids. The platform optimizes charging based on fleet operational requirements and site energy constraints.

Polara is also expanding its expertise in bidirectional charging, including vehicle-to-grid (V2G) energy transfer and vehicle-to-everything (V2X) applications. These approaches are paving the way for fleets that can not only use energy more efficiently, but also contribute to the resilience of buildings and power grids.

“This recognition validates the relevance of our vision and the strength of the market we serve,” added David Cantin, Vice President, Finance at Polara. “As organizations seek to reduce energy costs, strengthen resilience and achieve their environmental objectives, we will continue to invest in innovation, particularly in our Cleo platform and its smart charging management capabilities, to deliver greater savings and improve operational and energy efficiency for our customers.”

For more than 25 years, the Deloitte Technology Fast 50 program has celebrated Canadian companies that distinguish themselves through their growth, capacity for innovation and contribution to Canada’s technology ecosystem.

Featuring a space-saving design and a 4-liter capacity, the new $129.99 ArcVac Touchless Vacuum Automatic Dustpan simplifies daily cleaning for pet owners by efficiently collecting debris without the hassle of traditional tools.

LAS VEGAS, Oct. 29, 2026 /PRNewswire/ — Airthereal, a brand specializing in innovative home solutions, announces the launch of the ArcVac Touchless Vacuum Automatic Dustpan, a compact floor-cleaning appliance designed to combine everyday convenience with modern aesthetics. Featuring automatic debris collection, pet-friendly manual operation, and an easy-empty dust container, ArcVac offers a practical alternative to traditional dustpans and bulky vacuum cleaners.

Designed to fit naturally into modern living spaces, ArcVac features a streamlined appearance and compact footprint. Its combination of attractive design and practical functionality also makes it a thoughtful gift for pet owners, new homeowners, and anyone looking to simplify their daily cleaning routine.

Compact Design That Fits Modern Homes

Building on the success of its T1 Touchless Vacuum Automatic Dustpan, Airthereal introduces ArcVac as a more compact, design-focused addition to its cleaning lineup.

While the T1 offers a larger 7-liter dust capacity and additional cleaning versatility, ArcVac prioritizes space-saving convenience with a streamlined appearance and a dust container holding more than 4 liters.

Its smaller footprint makes it easier to incorporate into kitchens, entryways, and other living spaces without the bulk of conventional cleaning equipment.

Pet-Friendly Cleaning Without the Hassle

For pet owners, keeping floors free of fur, tracked-in dirt, and scattered litter can feel like a never-ending task.

ArcVac simplifies daily maintenance by allowing users to sweep pet hair and other dry debris directly toward the vacuum inlet, where suction collects them without the need for a separate dustpan.

The device offers both automatic and manual activation modes. While automatic mode provides hands-free convenience, manual mode gives pet owners greater control over when the vacuum operates, preventing curious pets from accidentally triggering the suction.

This flexibility makes ArcVac especially practical for households with cats and dogs, where frequent quick cleanups are often necessary.

Easy Emptying with Less Hair Buildup

ArcVac also addresses a common frustration with vacuum cleaners: removing collected hair and debris from the dust container.

Its convenient dust-emptying mechanism is designed to help prevent hair from becoming trapped during disposal, reducing the need to manually pull out tangled debris.

Combined with its generous dust capacity, this design helps make regular maintenance easier, particularly for households dealing with frequent pet shedding.

Availability

The Airthereal ArcVac Touchless Vacuum Automatic Dustpan is currently available for purchase at an MSRP of $129.99.

OTTO SPORT AI Announces University Athlete Will Become OTTO PREP as Volleyball Leader Continues Rapid Ascent

Published

New brand builds on more than two decades of recruiting leadership while connecting athletes, coaches, clubs, and events across the growing OTTO SPORT AI volleyball ecosystem.

MINNEAPOLIS, Oct. 29, 2026 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ — Since 2004, University Athlete has been a trusted recruiting platform for college volleyball coaches. Today, OTTO SPORT AI announced the next chapter: University Athlete will become OTTO PREP beginning October 27.

“Recruiting will always be at the heart of this product, but preparing for what comes next is bigger than a single recruiting moment.”

The move represents one of the final phases of a groundbreaking year for OTTO SPORT AI in volleyball, bringing recruiting into a broader technology ecosystem supporting clubs, tournaments, coaches, and athletes.

“University Athlete has earned the trust of the volleyball community for more than two decades, and we are excited to continue building on that with new products and continued innovation,” said JL Vogelaar, CMO & Head of DTC Products, OTTO SPORT AI. “OTTO PREP represents a strategic investment in a product the volleyball community already loves. By connecting recruiting more closely to the clubs, teams, and tournaments where athletes actually play, we can give coaches better information, create more opportunities for athletes to be discovered, and spend less of everyone’s time searching for the right match.”

Over the past year, the company has doubled down on both technology and relationships across the volleyball community. OTTO SPORT AI has expanded its partnerships with clubs, tournament operators, and volleyball organizations nationwide; established advisory groups made up of industry veterans and customers; and accelerated development of simpler, smarter technology designed specifically around how volleyball actually operates. The result is three independent arms that work in synchronicity: OTTO PREP formally becomes the recruiting and athlete development arm of OTTO SPORT AI, joining OTTO SPORT, which powers clubs, and OTTO EVENT, which powers tournaments and ticketing.

A More Connected Volleyball Experience

The OTTO PREP announcement follows SportWrench’s August transition to OTTO EVENT, bringing another major piece of the company’s volleyball strategy under the OTTO name. Together, the specialty products create a unified experience across the sport. The software that runs a club’s season, the tournaments its teams compete in, and the recruiting activity happening courtside no longer have to exist as separate technology islands.

For college coaches: that means more accurate rosters, better visibility into who is actually competing at an event, richer athlete information, and less time spent piecing together data from multiple sources. For athletes: it means more opportunities to be discovered. The information generated through their club and tournament experiences can help coaches already using OTTO PREP build a more complete recruiting picture. For clubs: it means less duplication and better support for athletes throughout their recruiting journeys. And for tournament operators, it creates opportunities to make recruiting an even more valuable part of the event experience.

Building on a Year of Innovation

The OTTO PREP name may be new, but University Athlete’s transformation is already well underway. Throughout 2026, the company has invested significantly in the platform and the experience around it, expanding beyond the traditional recruiting database to create more tools for athletes, families, clubs, and college coaches.

That includes launching AI FIT Finder, which helps athletes identify college programs that fit what they are looking for; expanding Camps & Clinics discovery to help athletes find more opportunities to connect with college programs; and continuing to invest in the All-Access athlete experience.

OTTO PREP has also introduced an entirely new Club Director experience, giving clubs greater visibility into their athletes’ recruiting journeys and creating a stronger connection between the club environment and college recruiting. As that experience expands, club directors will have increasingly powerful tools to help athletes build their profiles, navigate the process, and connect with the right opportunities.

This innovation comes against a backdrop of extraordinary activity across the platform. OTTO PREP now connects athletes with approximately 95% of college volleyball programs, generates more than 5 million athlete profile interactions annually, and supports recruiting activity across hundreds of volleyball events nationwide.

The new name also gives the platform room to grow beyond recruiting alone.

“PREP is intentional,” Vogelaar added. “Recruiting will always be at the heart of this product, but preparing for what comes next is bigger than a single recruiting moment. We see an opportunity to help athletes throughout that journey, from understanding where they fit, to finding opportunities, to getting in front of coaches and ultimately preparing for their next step.”

For existing University Athlete customers, the transition to OTTO PREP requires no change in how they use the platform. The same team, technology, recruiting data, and functionality remain in place, now backed by the broader capabilities and investment of OTTO SPORT AI.

About OTTO PREP

OTTO PREP (formerly University Athlete) powers recruiting and athlete preparation across the volleyball journey, connecting college programs with student-athletes, clubs, and events nationwide. Trusted by about 95% of college volleyball programs, the platform generates more than 5 million athlete profile interactions annually across hundreds of thousands of athlete profiles. Founded as University Athlete in 2003, the platform has helped power volleyball recruiting for more than two decades.

Guillermo del Toro’s Masterpiece to be Available in 4K via Digital Ownership Starting November 10 and Physical Disc Collector’s Editions Starting December 1

Release Comes as Cineverse Motion Pictures Group Outperforms Industry with 18.8% EST Growth and a 16.7% increase in VOD Revenue in Quarter ended June 30, 2026 vs. Prior Year

LOS ANGELES, Oct. 29, 2026 /PRNewswire/ — Cineverse (Nasdaq: CNVS), an entertainment technology company and studio, today announced the upcoming home entertainment release for the 20th anniversary of Guillermo del Toro’s Oscar-winning masterpiece, Pan’s Labyrinth.

Pan’s Labyrinth will be available to own digitally beginning November 10, followed by the 4K + Blu-ray Collector’s Edition SteelBook and Blu-ray Collectors Edition on December 1. It will then be available for digital rental (VOD) on December 8, and due to overwhelming demand, Cineverse will release a 4K + Blu-ray Collector’s Edition on December 29. The physical pre-order has already set a record as the number one home entertainment pre-order launch of all time for Cineverse.

This follows a return to theatres, including first-time releases in 4K and 3D, that grossed more than $2 million at the box office, and led to increased interest in the film and the human-led creativity and imagination that has led to three Oscar® wins plus critical and fan acclaim since 2006, including a record standing ovation at Cannes.

Also notable: the record home entertainment pre-sales come at a time during which Cineverse is out-performing industry averages in digital.  For example, over the quarter ending June 2026 Cineverse generated an 18.8% increase in EST revenue, with VOD revenue up 16.7%. Meanwhile, according to the Digital Entertainment Group, industry EST revenue is up 8.3% and industry VOD revenue is down 8.3% vs. the same time period last year.

“While industry trends in home entertainment are down, the titles we have chosen to invest in are trending up. This says a lot not only about the filmmakers that we have partnered with, including Guillermo del Toro, but also the halo effect that our marketing for specialty theatrical runs have with fandoms that want to own physical collectible copies, and watch these films over and over again – and in the case of Pan’s Labyrinth, now for the first time in restored 4K,” said Cineverse Chief Motion Pictures Officer Yolanda Macias.

The 4K restoration was overseen by del Toro, taken directly from the original 35mm elements.

About Pan’s Labyrinth

Pan’s Labyrinth takes place in 1944, in the aftermath of the Spanish Civil War. Young Ofelia and her pregnant mother have been brought to live in the countryside, where her brutal stepfather Captain Vidal’s job is to wipe out the remaining rebels camped in the local forest. Nearby, in a hidden labyrinth, Ofelia meets an ageless Faun, who tells her that she is really a princess from an enchanted world. He gives her three tasks which she must complete in order to reclaim her rightful place. As her mother’s failing health threatens the life of her unborn child, Ofelia undertakes a quest to complete the Faun’s tasks. Written and directed by del Toro, and produced by his company, Tequila Gang, the film stars Ivana Baquero, Maribel Verdu (Y tu mama tambien), Doug Jones (Hellboy II), and Sergi Lopez (Dirty Pretty Things). The film was nominated in six categories at the 79th Academy Awards® (2007) and took home three Oscar® wins – in the Best Achievement in Cinematography, Best Achievement in Art Direction and Best Achievement in Makeup categories. Across all awards, the film has received 106 wins from 115 nominations. It also earned critical acclaim, including top film of 2006 by the legendary Roger Ebert, and is Certified Fresh by Rotten Tomatoes with a 95% Tomatometer score.
