QINGDAO, China, July 9, 2026 /PRNewswire/ — On July 8, the 2026 Qingdao Venture Capital Conference concluded successfully at the Qingdao International Conference Center. Held under the theme “Empowering New Quality Productive Forces, Shaping a Shared Industrial Future: VC/PE Opportunities under the 15th Five-Year Plan,” the event brought together over a hundred government officials, investors from leading financial institutions and venture capital firms, entrepreneurs, and renowned scholars to discuss how long-term capital can accelerate technological innovation and industrial transformation in the opening year of China’s 15th Five-Year Plan.

Hosted by the Qingdao Municipal People’s Government, co-organized by the Office of the Financial Affairs Commission of the CPC Qingdao Municipal Committee and the Qingdao Municipal Finance Bureau, and co-sponsored by China Bridge, the one-day conference adopted a format of one plenary forum and five parallel forums, covering topics such as capital’s role in empowering new quality productive forces, blue finance, future industry ecosystems, asset revitalization, cross-border financial cooperation, and a sci-tech innovation project roadshow — where ten startups spanning AI and embodied intelligence, integrated circuits, biopharmaceuticals, new energy and low-altitude economy presented directly to investors.

At the plenary forum, a series of major launches and strategic partnerships were announced. The Qingdao Fund Industry Development Alliance and Zhongtai Capital Equity Investment Management (Shandong) Co., Ltd. were officially unveiled, while the Qingdao Municipal Government signed strategic cooperation agreements with Shanghai Pudong Development Bank, Guotai Haitong Securities and Zhongtai Securities. The “Qingdao-Hong Kong Integration, Linking the World” initiative was also launched at the plenary, bringing together the international investment banking arms of China’s five major state-owned banks to support local technology companies in accessing global capital markets and channeling long-term capital into strategic emerging and future industries. Funds under Qingdao’s “10+1″ Innovative Industry System were also signed on site, further directing patient capital toward the city’s modern industrial system.

The event also marked the release of the China Venture Capital & Private Equity Annual White Paper (2026), offering an overview of global and domestic investment trends. According to the report, global venture capital investment reached US$301 billion in the first quarter of 2026 — the highest first-quarter total in five years — with artificial intelligence accounting for more than 80% of total funding. In China, new-generation information technology, advanced manufacturing and healthcare remained the top three sectors by investment amount in H1 2026, while AI, robotics, semiconductors and integrated circuits emerged as the sub-sectors most favored by capital. The report noted that the global shift toward hard technology and the real economy is creating new opportunities for innovation-driven cities, with Qingdao’s strengths in marine technology providing a solid foundation for its future growth.

Sun Ximin, Vice Governor of Shandong Province; Ren Gang, Deputy Secretary of the CPC Qingdao Municipal Committee and Mayor of Qingdao; and Gao Tianhong, Party Committee Member and Vice President of the Asset Management Association of China (AMAC), delivered remarks at the conference. The event also featured keynote speeches by Liu Shijin, Chief Chinese Advisor of China Council for International Cooperation on Environment and Development and former Deputy Director of the Development Research Center of the State Council; Wang Zhongmin, former Vice Chairman of the National Council for Social Security Fund; and Wu Xiaoqiu, former Vice President of Renmin University of China and Dean of the National Academy of Financial Research.

Since its launch in 2019, the Qingdao Venture Capital Conference has evolved into one of China’s leading platforms for venture capital and private equity cooperation. As China embarks on its 15th Five-Year Plan, this year’s conference further underscores Qingdao’s commitment to attracting long-term capital, deepening the integration of technology, industry and finance, fostering a world-class innovation ecosystem, and strengthening its position as a leading hub for innovation-driven development.

X Square Robot showcases the Power of “One Model, Many Applications” at WRC 2026

Highlighting the breadth of what WALL-B can enable and the depth of performance it can sustain in the physical world.

BEIJING, Aug. 25, 2026 /PRNewswire/ — X Square Robot, a Shenzhen-based embodied AI company, concluded its participation at the 2026 World Robot Conference (WRC) in Beijing, putting its “one model, many applications” approach to practice across multiple robotic platforms and real-world tasks. Powered by WALL-B, the company brought this approach into a range of physical environments, while extending its first logistics livestream on Aug 12 into a five-hour challenge during WRC.

At the conference, X Square showcased its WALL-B technology across several robotic platforms. In a home environment, two wheeled humanoid robots responded to spoken commands. It performed tasks including organizing household items, retrieving and delivering objects, cleaning, watering plants and handling pet-related chores. Using coordinated two-arm manipulation and obstacle avoidance, the robot moved between rooms and carried out the requested tasks.

The exhibition demonstration formed part of X Square’s broader effort to deploy robots in real homes. In March, the company partnered with Chinese local-services platform 58.com to launch a home-cleaning service, with robots working alongside professional cleaners during household visits. In May, X Square began placing robots with participating households for extended in-home service through its “X Family Member Program.”

Elsewhere at the conference, a 22-degree-of-freedom, five-fingered dexterous hand completed a multi-stage fan-unboxing task powered by WALL-B. With its view partially obstructed by the box, the system opened the packaging, removed the fan from a confined space, placed it on a table, turned the fan on and visually verified that it was running. A separate dual-arm system responded to visitors’ natural-language requests by selecting flowers of the specified color and arranging them in a vase. It adjusted its grip and positioning to handle flexible stems and deformable flowers, and replanned its movements when the flower basket or vase was moved during the task.

X Square extended its focus on real-world deployment into logistics. The WALL-B-powered system is already operating on a live parcel-sorting line and is designed to support continuous, round-the-clock operation. The WRC demonstration provided a public test of that capability. During the challenge, the WALL-B-powered system sorted 10,000 parcels in 5 hours, 14 minutes and 1 second, translating into an average throughput of 1,911 parcels an hour, or about 1.88 seconds per parcel.

During the challenge, the robots handled parcels that varied in size, shape, material and position. The system had to repeatedly identify, grasp, orient and sort the items, while correcting unsuccessful actions and responding to changes on the conveyor. Maintaining its throughput over thousands of parcels offered a measure of the consistency and endurance required in commercial logistics operations.

“Embodied AI requires a foundation model built specifically for the physical world, in parallel with the foundation models developed for the digital world. At X Square, our aim is to develop a common intelligence foundation that can operate across different robots, tasks and physical environments, while continuing to improve through real-world deployment,” said Wang Qian, founder and CEO of X Square Robot.

Taken together, the demonstrations reflected X Square’s broader view that embodied intelligence should not be tied to a single robot, task or environment. The company said it will continue integrating models and robotic hardware as it expands into additional home, logistics and industrial applications.

Sharp IMS Revenue Contraction Brings Down Market

REDWOOD CITY, Calif., Aug. 24, 2026 /PRNewswire/ — According to a recently published report from Dell’Oro Group, the trusted source for market information about the telecommunications, security, networks, and data center industries, 5G Mobile Core Network (MCN) revenue in EMEA grew over 30 percent in 2Q 2026, contributing more revenue to the worldwide 5G MCN market than any other region.

“So far in 2026, eighty percent of the operators to have launched 5G Standalone (SA) networks for consumer services have been in Europe,” stated Siân Morgan, Sr. Director at Dell’Oro Group. “This helped EMEA 5G MCN revenue to reach a high-water mark in 2Q 2026, and we expect this region will keep expanding in the coming quarters.

“The growth in 5G MCN occurred despite an escalation in server prices causing mobile network operators to scrutinize the cost of network projects. On the other hand, IMS revenue contracted for the third quarter in a row, with most regions seeing a drop in Voice core revenue,” continued Morgan.

Additional highlights from the 2Q 2026 Mobile Core Network and Multi-Access Edge Computing Report include:

MCN market dynamics were stable, with Huawei, Ericsson and Nokia growing MCN revenue in alignment with total market expansion.
4G Wireless Packet Core revenue outpaced the market for the third quarter in a row, driven by mobile network operators that have not yet moved to 5G SA.
In nominal terms, revenue from 5G MCN has still not reached the levels achieved by 4G MCN, with the pressure to automate operations and grow ARPU counterbalanced by the rising cost of infrastructure.
