Event expected to convene 10,000+ decision-makers, 500+ speakers, and 350+ solution providers at HKCEC on 10–11 September
HONG KONG, Aug. 26, 2026 /PRNewswire/ — The seventh edition of ReThink HK, Hong Kong’s flagship climate action and sustainable business event, will open on 10–11 September at Hall 1, HKCEC. Restructured around five dedicated Thematic Zones — Cities, Energy, Impact, Innovation, and Resources — the event is expected to convene 10,000+ attendees, 500+ speakers, and 350+ solution providers as Asia’s business sector shifts from climate target-setting to operational delivery. The restructured format is designed to help business leaders convert ESG strategies into operational results amid intensifying regulatory pressure globally.
Since 2020, attendance has grown more than 12-fold – a 1,150% increase in six years. Nearly one-third of attendees hold board-level or sustainability leadership roles, reflecting the event’s position as a decision-maker forum for the region’s net-zero transition.
Streamlining Climate Action: The 5 Thematic Zones
“As companies transition from setting climate targets to executing operational roadmaps, the demand for practical, scalable solutions has never been higher,” said Mr. Chris Brown, Founder & CEO of ReThink HK. “We have restructured the entire conference around five thematic zones to help business leaders forge meaningful partnerships and convert ESG strategies into measurable business value.”
The five Thematic Zones are structured as dedicated solution centres. The following showcases the highlights of each zone, while the full programme spans a broader spectrum of cross-cutting technologies, partnerships and innovations.
The Cities Zone targets actionable solutions in sustainable infrastructure, green building technologies and liveable urban engineering for Asia’s densely populated cities.
The Energy Zone explores the region’s evolving energy ecosystem, from renewable integration and grid decarbonisation to sustainable aviation fuel, clean maritime fuels and the electrification of transport.
The Impact Zone convenes strategic ESG governance, green finance for SMEs, social value creation and community-level climate action.
The Innovation Zone features cutting-edge climate technology, AI-driven sustainability tools and the university spinout and startup ecosystems commercialising research into deployable solutions.
The Resources Zone presents circular economy solutions, waste reduction innovation and sustainable materials management across Asia’s manufacturing and supply chain networks.
Global Innovations & AI-Powered Networking
Highlighting international green technology and cross-border solutions, ReThink HK 2026 will host Overseas Pavilions from ADVANTAGE Austria, Business France, ICEX España Exportación e Inversiones, The Japan Chamber of Commerce and Industry, and Team Sweden.
On-site feature showcases will also highlight tangible, large-scale sustainability applications, including clean transit innovations from Volvo Bus, hospitality-scale ESG management via the Marriott Serve 360 Portal, and massive green infrastructure engineering from Jardine Schindler, featuring its deployment of 55 mega escalators at HKIA Terminal 2.
Cross-Sector Coalitions Turning Commitments into Delivery
ReThink HK 2026 continues to receive strong endorsement from the HKSAR Government, underscoring a unified public-private effort to advance Hong Kong’s climate goals. Miss Diane Wong, JP, Under Secretary for Environment and Ecology, will deliver the Day 1 opening address. Mr. Victor Tai, JP, Under Secretary for Housing, will keynote on sustainable development in the built environment. Mr Joseph Chan, JP, Under Secretary for Financial Services and the Treasury, will address the conference on Day 2 on sustainable finance’s role in driving the region’s net-zero transition.
Continuing its long-standing strategic partnership, Business Environment Council (BEC) returns for its seventh consecutive year as Exclusive Co-organiser.
Mr Simon Ng, Chief Executive Officer of BEC, said, “Our ongoing partnership with ReThink HK reinforces our joint commitment to driving a net-zero transition. At BEC Climate & Nature Theatre, we will bring together executive leaders to discuss climate risk assessments, corporate governance, and bankable financing for nature and resilience. Aligned with BEC’s Environmental Focus Areas, we will also spotlight the practical business actions needed to strengthen climate resilience and nature conservation.”
The event’s mission is also supported by prominent corporate sponsors, including DHL, MTR, Swire, CLP, Prudential, DFI, Hang Lung Properties, and Towngas.
Attendees can curate their ReThink HK 2026 experience with a variety of passes available, from Delegate pass to Expo-Only, Vendor and Investor. Workshops and Roundtable Sessions — smaller-format, topic-led deep dives — are available as add-ons for all* pass holders, subject to a selection process.
