New tactile graphics library and assistive technology initiative expands access to assessments while helping educators prepare students for success in STEM

BILLERICA, Mass., Aug. 31, 2026 /PRNewswire/ — Curriculum Associates and American Printing House for the Blind (APH) announced a partnership to help ensure students who are blind or have low vision have equitable access to the same rigorous assessment to inform instruction as their peers. The organizations are developing a customized tactile graphics library that will enable educators to quickly locate, print, and use high-quality tactile graphics for i-Ready Inform™, eliminating the need for educators to manually create these materials in real time. In addition, the library’s infrastructure lays the foundation for integrating tactile graphics into the next-generation technologies, such as refreshable tactile displays, including the Monarch refreshable tactile displays. The new high-quality tactile image library will be available in the 2026–2027 school year.

The collaboration combines Curriculum Associates’ expertise in instruction and assessment content development with APH’s leadership in braille, tactile graphics literacy, and assistive technology.

Students who are blind or have low vision continue to be underrepresented in STEM education and careers, while limited access to high-quality tactile graphics remains a significant barrier to engaging with mathematics, science, charts, diagrams, and other visual learning materials. The partnership helps remove those barriers in i-Ready Inform by making tactile graphics easier for educators to find, produce, and use, saving valuable preparation time while improving consistency and quality.

“Timely access to high-quality braille and tactile graphics provides students the opportunity to fully and independently participate in learning,” said Lauralyn Randles, senior director of accessible test and assessment. “Together with Curriculum Associates, we’re helping educators spend less time creating accessible materials and more time helping students succeed.”

The partnership also addresses a significant challenge facing schools. While accessibility standards are essential, creating accessible tactile materials often requires substantial time and specialized expertise. The new searchable tactile image library will streamline teachers’ work by making accessible materials easier to find, produce, and use, thereby reducing preparation time while improving consistency and quality.

“This initiative reflects a shared commitment to accessibility that goes beyond compliance by focusing on usability and ensuring students can fully demonstrate what they know,” said Allison Johnson, AVP of accessibility, authenticity, and belonging at Curriculum Associates. “By designing for current assistive technology while keeping emerging technologies in mind, we are helping to create environments where students who are blind or low vision can increasingly engage more independently and pursue the same academic opportunities as their fellow learners.”

More information about Curriculum Associates’ approach to inclusive assessments is available in their recent whitepaper and on their blog.

Collaboration combines LarrainVial’s regional distribution leadership with inCadense’s international SMA, UMA and multi-currency managed accounts platform to support the transition toward fee-based wealth solutions

SANTIAGO, Chile, Aug. 31, 2026 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ — inCadense Corp., a global managed accounts provider to the asset and wealth management industry, today announced a strategic collaboration with LarrainVial to expand access to international managed account capabilities across Latin America, local wealth markets and U.S. Offshore channels.

“Bringing LarrainVial’s market reach together with inCadense’s international managed account infrastructure gives us an opportunity to address those needs and bring new solutions to the region.” – Andres Bulnes, Partner and Global Head of Distribution at LarrainVial

The collaboration brings together LarrainVial’s deep market presence, distribution capabilities and extensive relationships across Latin American wealth and asset management with inCadense’s International Turnkey Asset Management Platform, iTAMP®, creating infrastructure to support the delivery of separately managed accounts (SMAs), unified managed accounts (UMAs), model portfolios and other fee-based investment solutions across currencies, custodians and jurisdictions.

Through iTAMP®, asset managers and wealth managers can use a common operating framework spanning portfolio construction, model and strategy delivery, account-level implementation, trading connectivity, multi-custody, multi-currency capabilities, rebalancing and reporting. The architecture is designed specifically for international wealth markets where investment products, currencies, custody arrangements and regulatory structures can vary significantly by client and jurisdiction.

The relationship is intended to help address an important infrastructure opportunity across Latin America: enabling wealth firms to move beyond predominantly transactional product distribution toward scalable, portfolio-based and fee-based advisory models while broadening access to global investment capabilities.

LarrainVial occupies a distinctive position in Latin American financial services, the firm has developed an integrated financial platform spanning third-party distribution, asset management, wealth management, brokerage and other financial services, with an extensive presence across Latin America and the U.S. Offshore market. LarrainVial has identified third-party distribution as a core strategic pillar and has continued to expand its multi-firm distribution model across the region and internationally.

“Latin America is moving toward a more global, advisory-led wealth management model, and that evolution requires infrastructure capable of supporting it,” said Andrés Bulnes, Partner and Global Head of Distribution at LarrainVial. “inCadense brings an international managed account architecture designed for the realities of these markets — multiple custodians, currencies, investment structures and jurisdictions. We see a significant opportunity to work together to bring new capabilities to our clients and partners across Latin America and the Offshore market.”

Bulnes continued, “Many of the next opportunities in Latin American wealth management are infrastructure challenges as much as they are investment-product challenges. Managers need a way to move strategies across borders. Wealth firms need scalable SMA and UMA capabilities. Advisors need greater flexibility across currencies, custodians and investment structures. Bringing LarrainVial’s market reach together with inCadense’s international managed account infrastructure gives us an opportunity to address those needs and bring new solutions to the region.”

The collaboration builds on LarrainVial’s strategy of connecting investment managers and financial intermediaries with differentiated investment solutions. Its recent expansion in U.S. Offshore has emphasized scale, dedicated distribution resources and a multi-manager approach designed to deepen client relationships and broaden the range of investment capabilities available across the region.

“LarrainVial is a market leader in Latin America and has built one of the region’s most impressive financial platforms, with capabilities spanning distribution, asset management and wealth management,” said A.J. Harper, Managing Partner and Co-Founder of inCadense. “What stands out is their deep commitment to bringing new investment solutions to market and their ability to reach clients across both local and offshore channels. We are extremely pleased to work with the LarrainVial team to expand the infrastructure supporting fee-based advice, managed accounts and global investment capabilities throughout the region.”

inCadense’s open-architecture model is designed to connect asset managers, wealth managers, custodians and execution providers within a unified managed account environment. The platform can support international securities and investment structures including UCITS, foreign ordinary shares, global fixed income, ETFs, mutual funds, separately managed accounts and, where appropriate, alternative and private-market investments.

The collaboration reflects both firms’ view that Latin American and international wealth markets will increasingly require infrastructure capable of connecting global investment capabilities with local and offshore advisory relationships in a scalable, transparent and flexible format.

Unifor welcomes CRTC decision to move forward with Canadian content rules for streaming services

TORONTO, Aug. 31, 2026 /CNW/ — Unifor applauds the Canadian Radio-television and Telecommunications Commission (CRTC)’s decision to proceed with developing rules that will ensure Canadian programming is available and visible on online streaming services. At the same time, the union is also calling on the federal government to also immediately move ahead with implementing the contributions requirements for digital streamers.

The Commission’s decisive move comes after the issue played a significant role in ending trade talks with the U.S.

“Global streaming companies that profit from Canadian audiences must also contribute to the Canadian broadcasting system and help audiences find Canadian stories,” said Unifor National President Lana Payne.

The CRTC has said it will move forward with regulatory proceedings to determine how individual streaming services will be required to will be required to promote and make Canadian programming discoverable to users. The process implements the Online Streaming Act, which requires streaming services operating in Canada to support access to Canadian programming, including French-language content.

“Strong, enforceable and transparent discoverability rules are essential,” added Payne.

“Canadian content cannot be technically available but effectively buried. The rules must lead to meaningful visibility for Canadian productions and create more job opportunities for the skilled workers who make them.”

Unifor’s media sector has advocated for years for enforceable federal policies to address the crisis facing Canada’s media landscape, including the Digital Services Tax, the Online Streaming Act and the Online News Act. These measures were intended to ensure companies benefiting from access to the Canadian market contributed to the system that supports Canadian stories, journalism and media jobs.

The union continues to support the Online Streaming Act and the Online News Act.

Unifor is urging the federal government and the CRTC to move ahead without delay in implementing the contribution requirements for digital streamers as per the Online Streaming Act, ensuring the final framework includes clear obligations, measurable outcomes, and effective enforcement.

The union will continue to advocate for rules that strengthen Canadian and Indigenous production, protect Canada’s cultural sovereignty, and encourage and sustain good jobs across Canada’s media sector.

Unifor represents more than more than 9,000 media workers in Canada, who perform a diverse range of jobs, including: journalists, printers, advertising representatives, newspaper carriers, video editors, camera operators, technicians, writers, producers, editorial researchers, maintenance workers, on-air talent, stage and film crewmembers, production assistants, website developers, editors and publishers.

Unifor is Canada’s largest union in the private sector, representing 320,000 workers in every major area of the economy. The union advocates for all working people and their rights, fights for equality and social justice in Canada and abroad and strives to create progressive change for a better future.

GCW Agency Launches SignlLabs™, A Proprietary A.I. Signaling Practice Built to Earn Brand Visibility Across Artificial Intelligence (AI) Platforms

New practice gives clients a measurable path to being recommended by ChatGPT, Gemini, Claude, Copilot, and Perplexity, and it is built for AI, not retrofitted from SEO

NEW YORK, Aug. 31, 2026 /PRNewswire/ — Global Communication Works (GCW), the strategic public relations and communications agency, today announced the formation of SignlLabs™, its proprietary AI Signaling practice. SignlLabs gives GCW clients a dedicated methodology for earning visibility and recommendations across leading artificial intelligence platforms, extending the agency’s four decades of earned media expertise to how brands are discovered today.

“For nearly 40 years, GCW has built our clients’ reputations one relationship, one story, and one placement at a time. SignlLabs is the natural next chapter,” said Suzy Ginsburg, Founder and CEO of GCW. Consumers no longer stop at a search engine. They are asking AI platforms for recommendations and answers, and brands need a real strategy to show up there, not a retrofit of old SEO tactics. That is exactly what we built.”

Search engine optimization earns a ranking on a page of links. Answer engine optimization (AEO) earns the snippet an AI reads back. AI Signaling earns the recommendation itself. The gap matters because an AI does not simply answer the question it is asked. It quietly splits a single prompt into roughly five hidden research queries, then composes an answer from the sources it trusts most, which are overwhelmingly earned with third-party endorsements, not a brand’s own website.

Built from the ground up rather than adapted from existing search practices, SignlLabs pairs GCW’s earned media strategy with a dedicated AI recommendation framework, measuring performance across the five platforms most consumers now turn to for answers: ChatGPT, Google Gemini, Claude, Microsoft Copilot, and Perplexity AI. The practice is led by Erika Hanafin Austria, who will work alongside GCW President, Brad Ginsburg and account teams to embed AI Signaling into future client campaigns.

“SEO is about being the answer. AI Signaling is about being the recommendation,” said Erika Hanafin Austria. “When someone asks an answer engine who or what brand is best, the platform runs its own research behind the scenes and names the brands it trusts. That trust lives in earned media, not on a brands homepage. SignlLabs is built for how AI decides, not bolted onto old search tactics.”

Today GCW measures success across both traditional and AI channels, tracking impressions, reach, and engagement alongside AI recommendation lift, so clients see the full picture of how a campaign performs and reaches audiences wherever they get their news and their answers.

SignlLabs is already embedded in GCW campaigns across the agency’s women’s health, consumer health and lifestyle client roster, and the practice will be central to new business pursuits going forward.
