MemoryDriver Relaunches Sept. 15 With a National “Beat the Clock” Navigation Challenge

Published

Evon Medics’ redesigned brain-training app is built on the neuroscience of getting lost and found. Anyone can enter, free, and race a 12-route course for cash prizes and a year of premium access. ELLICOTT CITY, Md., Sept. 2, 2026 /PRNewswire/ — Evon Medics, Inc., a Maryland neurotechnology company, will relaunch MemoryDriver on September 15, 2026, and mark the occasion with a national “Beat the Clock” Challenge: a free, public competition to navigate a 12-route course faster and more accurately than anyone else in the country.

The premise behind the app comes from an unusual place.

In December 2024, researchers from Mass General Brigham published a study in The BMJ that examined nearly nine million death records across 443 occupations. Taxi drivers and ambulance drivers had the lowest proportion of deaths attributed to Alzheimer’s disease of any occupation studied – roughly 1% each, against 3.88% overall. Bus drivers and airline pilots, who follow fixed and predetermined routes, showed no such pattern. The authors described the findings as observational and could not establish cause.

But the line the data drew was specific. It did not separate drivers from everyone else. It separated people who work out a route in real time from people who follow one.

MemoryDriver is built on that distinction.

“Almost every one of us used to navigate the way a taxi driver does,” said Evaristus Nwulia, MD, co-founder at Evon Medics and a neuropsychiatrist and translational neuroscientist. “We held maps in our heads, we noticed landmarks, we recovered when we took a wrong turn. Then we handed all of it to a device in our pocket. MemoryDriver hands that work back and makes it something people actually want to do on a Tuesday night.”

A REBUILT APP, AND A DIFFERENT WAY IN

MemoryDriver puts users behind the wheel in a virtual city, learning and then reproducing increasingly complex routes from memory. Version 2.0 is a substantially different product from the version the company released earlier this year.

The app is now free to download and free to play. Users earn experience points, climb levels, and advance through competitive divisions – Bronze through Platinum – with a live rank, a percentile standing against every other driver, and public leaderboards. Routes lengthen and complicate as performance improves.

The earlier release required a subscription from the first session. The company found that people would not commit to cognitive training before they had experienced it and rebuilt the product around the opposite assumption.

“We do not want brain health to feel like homework,” Dr. Nwulia said. “People understand they should exercise their bodies before decline becomes obvious. We want that same instinct for the brain – challenge it, track it, compete a little, and build what we call cognitive capital.”

THE “BEAT THE CLOCK” CHALLENGE

On September 15, Evon Medics will turn the relaunch into a live public competition. Contestants navigate a 12-route MemoryDriver journey and are scored on both speed and accuracy – a wrong turn costs more than a slow one. A live leaderboard will update publicly throughout the event.

The five highest-scoring finishers will receive cash prizes and a full year of MemoryDriver Premium access, along with recognition as the top navigators of the launch competition.

To enter:

Download MemoryDriver free from the Apple App Store at ‎Memory Driver App – App Store Google Play at https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.EvonMedics.memorydriver&hl=en_USClick the Notifications bell on the App to register before the competition opensComplete the 12-route challenge during the competition window on September 15Share your score and challenge three people to beat it

Participants and spectators can follow the leaderboard using #MemoryDriver.

“A product update is something you read about. A competition is something you join,” said Charles Nwaokobia, President at Evon Medics. “We wanted the relaunch to put people in the driver’s seat on day one, against each other, with a leaderboard everyone can see. That is a very different conversation about brain health than the one people are used to having.”

The company plans to scale the format into recurring national MemoryDriver competitions with larger prize pools.

A NEW AMBASSADOR PROGRAM

Alongside the relaunch, Evon Medics is introducing a redesigned MemoryDriver Ambassador Program (MAP) for creators, healthcare professionals, community leaders, educators, wellness advocates and organizations who want to bring MemoryDriver to their communities.

Ambassadors earn a commission on every subscription generated through their personal code, beginning at 20% and rising to 35% at the highest performance level. New Ambassadors start at a 25% introductory rate, and commissions on monthly and annual plans recur for the life of the subscription rather than expiring after a fixed period. The first 100 approved Ambassadors will be designated the Founding 100 and carry permanent standing in the program.

THE MILLION MINDS MISSION

The relaunch opens a broader campaign the company calls the Million Minds Mission – an effort to get one million adults actively and regularly engaged with their own cognitive health through competitions, community challenges and Ambassador-led events.

“Our ambition is larger than a launch event,” Dr. Nwulia said. “We want a culture where people invest in their cognitive health not out of fear of getting older, but because keeping the brain challenged becomes part of how they live.”

WHAT MEMORYDRIVER IS, AND WHAT IT IS NOT

MemoryDriver is a consumer cognitive-training and entertainment application. It is not a medical device, is not a diagnostic test, and is not intended to diagnose, treat, cure or prevent Alzheimer’s disease, dementia or any other medical condition. It has not been cleared or approved by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration.

The research described above is observational and was conducted independently of Evon Medics. It informs the design rationale of MemoryDriver; it does not describe outcomes of using the app. Evon Medics separately develops investigational technologies for neurodegenerative and neuropsychiatric conditions, including Computerized Olfactory Adaptive Training (COAT). Those are distinct programs and are not part of the MemoryDriver consumer product.
