Danish Startup Upends the Forklift Industry with a Self-Driving Pallet Jack That Keeps Humans in Charge

A self-funded, nine-person company just beat the forklift industry’s giants to Industrial Truck of the Year.

COPENHAGEN, Denmark, Oct. 8, 2026 /PRNewswire/ — It was the busiest week in The Mobile Robot Company‘s short life. Co-founder and CTO Odin Kudahl Skovsted and the team were in Italy demonstrating the company’s robot to prospective customers. So when the 2026 IFOY Industrial Truck of the Year was announced in Stuttgart in June, CEO Emil Hauch Jensen was sitting alone in the middle of the audience, surrounded by the established manufacturers his company was up against. Then they read out the winner.

“I was kind of shocked,” Mr. Jensen said. “I had honestly no expectation of winning.”

The two met in 2018 at Mobile Industrial Robots, where Mr. Jensen ran sales in China and Mr. Skovsted led technical support and customer success. Between them they had deployed more than 10,000 robots and reached the same conclusion: the hard part was rarely the robot but the integration around it. At the ROSCon conference in Odense in October 2024, Mr. Skovsted put the question directly: “Emil, why don’t we do this ourselves?”

The company was founded a month later. The result, the J1600, launched on 20 October 2025: a 1,600-kilogram pallet jack that drives like a conventional truck in manual mode and delivers autonomously in dual mode. A human always picks up the pallet.

“It’s not a philosophy,” Mr. Jensen said in a statement. “It’s a limitation that is intentionally designed into the product.” Stopping at 80% to 95% automation, he argues, avoids the costly engineering that makes full autonomy uneconomic for most warehouses.

The company publishes its list price of €65,000, about half that of comparable robots, sells only through partners and now has distributors in eight countries.

Incumbents can copy the format, Mr. Jensen concedes. “Everybody can make a dual mode,” he said. “I don’t think everybody can make it as easy to use and as well designed as us.”

Mr. Jensen treats the trophy from Stuttgart as a proof point, not a finish line. “Ten years from now, I hope that all the pallet jacks will be either automatic or dual mode,” he said.

Insurify Joins Technology Leaders to Shape the Future of AI-Powered Insurance Shopping

Insurify will help shape insurance standards for shopper consent, coverage transparency, and carrier protections in the proposed Personal Agent Protocol, known as Poppy.

CAMBRIDGE, Mass., Oct. 9, 2026 /PRNewswire/ — Insurify, the leading online insurance marketplace and a pioneer in AI-powered insurance shopping, is joining Sierra and other technology leaders as an early design partner in the AI Personal Agent Protocol, known as Poppy, bringing the needs of insurance shoppers and carriers into the protocol’s design.

“People shopping for insurance should be able to use the AI agent they choose without losing the critical coverage information they need to make an informed decision,” said Giorgos Zacharia, co-founder and co-CEO of Insurify. “Delegating a task shouldn’t mean surrendering control over your personal information or your decision to buy. AI agents are an important distribution channel for carriers, and we’re helping shape standards that keep consumers in control and give companies the ability to protect the customers they serve.”

As an early adopter of AI in its marketplace, Insurify believes consumers need transparency, privacy, and guidance. Poppy aims to provide a straightforward framework in which consumers approve access, agents identify themselves, and companies set boundaries for what agents can do. Insurify will participate in design discussions, advocating for insurance-specific protections that preserve coverage context, carrier attribution, privacy, and security. These include retaining coverage limits, deductibles, eligibility requirements, and applicable disclosures, while addressing automated quoting that adds costs without serving a real shopper.

Insurify already offers personalized car insurance quotes through its ChatGPT plugin, with coverage details and a path to purchase through a licensed agent or insurer. Insurify’s participation in Poppy’s development advances the same objectives: enabling AI-powered insurance shopping that consumers and carriers can trust.

About Insurify:

Insurify is America’s top-rated online insurance marketplace, offering a secure, spam-free way to compare and buy coverage. With a network of 120-plus carrier partners, Insurify empowers consumers to compare auto, home, pet, and renters insurance in minutes, online or with the help of a licensed agent. Since 2016, Insurify’s AI-powered technology has served over 320 million insurance quotes across Insurify and its affiliates. By using Insurify, customers can save hundreds of dollars annually, with some saving up to 50% on their premiums. In 2025, Insurify launched Insurify Car, its own branded car insurance program, underwritten by partner carriers and managed on Insurify.com.

AI that understands your documents, in every editor

ONLYOFFICE 10.0 puts context-aware AI inside the document, spreadsheet, presentation, and PDF editors. A dedicated AI tab with built-in chat lets teams draft, summarize, translate, clean and format without leaving the file or copying content into a separate tool.

AI simplifies everyday work: legal teams can summarize contracts, analysts can generate forecasts or Pivot Tables, and managers can turn ideas into structured presentations.

Ready-made prompts, custom AI actions, assistants, and saved prompts help teams streamline workflows and automate routine tasks.

New modular apps

The release introduces four free Apps that extend ONLYOFFICE Docs (under AGPL v3). AI Agents automate the workspace, with intelligent search, personalized knowledge base, extended reasoning, powered by MCP servers. Forms streamlines data collection and analyze responses. On servers, a single command installs them.

Editor enhancements

The PDF Editor adds metadata removal, customizable annotations, automatic table recognition, and reusable signatures. In the Document Editor, co-authors can follow each other’s cursor in real time, new “Keep with next” keeps related content together, and RTL support is more reliable. Spreadsheets run faster, with optimized functions, formula hints and an animated copy marquee. Presentations gain new view modes and extended print settings, GIF or video export for slides.

Users can now work with .ofd files, save spreadsheets as .xls, convert SVGs to editable shapes, add Data Tables to charts. With Antidote, Curly, and a Salesforce new plugins in redesigned Plugin Manager.
