IOWA SCHOLARSHIP GRANTING ORGANIZATION PARTNERS WITH ODYSSEY TO SUPPORT EDUCATION CHOICE IN IOWA

Technology partnership will help families and schools participate in the federal Education Freedom Tax Credit program

DAVENPORT, Iowa, Sept. 18, 2026 /PRNewswire/ — The Iowa Scholarship Granting Organization (ISGO) today announced a partnership with Odyssey, a leading technology company that makes educational choice programs easier to access and scale, to help administer Iowa’s new Education Freedom Tax Credit program.

Established by the One Big Beautiful Bill Act, the newly established Education Freedom Tax Credit (EFTC) gives eligible taxpayers the opportunity to donate to qualified Scholarship Granting Organizations (SGOs) in exchange for a federal tax credit worth up to $1,700. The credit takes effect January 1, 2027, and Governor Kim Reynolds has already opted Iowa into the program. These donations fund scholarships that expand families’ access to educational options, including tuition at nonpublic schools and other qualifying educational costs for students.

ISGO was formed by Iowa’s School Tuition Organizations (STOs), which have served Iowa families for more than 20 years. The new organization will bring that same Iowa-centered approach to the new federal program. ISGO will keep resources focused on Iowa schools, Iowa families, and Iowa students, partnering with existing STOs to assist donors, families, applicants, private schools, and charter schools across the state, rather than sending Iowa program dollars out of state.

Through this partnership, ISGO will lead donor engagement, scholarship administration, compliance, and fundraising support, helping families across Iowa participate successfully in the new federal opportunity.

“We are excited to work with Odyssey, which has a proven track record of successfully implementing school choice programs in Iowa and across the country,” said Trish Wilger, Executive Director for the Iowa Alliance for Choice in Education, “This partnership will provide Iowa families with a simple, secure way to apply for the financial support they need to access the education they want for their children.”

Odyssey will provide the secure technology platform that powers the EFTC program. The platform will enable taxpayers to make contributions, support scholarship applications and eligibility verification, facilitate scholarship distribution, and provide the transparency, security, and accountability needed to administer the program efficiently at scale.

Together, ISGO and Odyssey will provide schools with a comprehensive solution that combines mission-driven, Iowa-based leadership with proven technology, making it easier for communities across Iowa to participate in the Education Freedom Tax Credit program and expand educational opportunities for more families.

“The Education Freedom Tax Credit represents one of the most significant opportunities in decades to expand educational choice for families,” said Joe Connor, Odyssey Founder and CEO. “Iowa has already shown what is possible when families have greater access to educational options. Odyssey has powered Iowa’s state ESA program for years, and partnering with Iowa’s STOs to build ISGO will allow us to bring that same trusted, Iowa-centered approach to the federal program, helping serve even more Iowa families, schools, and providers.”

Arizona Voters Want Action, Not Just Words

New Arizona Voters’ Agenda research shows voters want clear answers, practical problem-solving, and action on their priorities

PHOENIX, Sept. 18, 2026 /PRNewswire/ — With Arizona’s General Election approaching, new statewide research finds voters want more than candidates’ positioning on issues, they want to know what actions candidates will take on their highest priorities. They want to hear directly from the people asking to lead them about the solutions they would pursue and how they would make progress.

The latest 2026 Arizona Voters’ Agenda findings from Center for the Future of Arizona (CFA) reinforce what CFA has heard consistently across years of statewide research and engagement with Arizonans. They care deeply about the state’s future, want leaders focused on the issues affecting their lives and communities, share more common ground than the political narrative, and value problem-solving, long-term thinking, and meaningful progress. The new findings show how those expectations are carrying into the 2026 election.

“Arizonans want to know what candidates will do about the issues that matter most to them and to Arizona’s future,” said Dr. Sybil Francis, Chair, President & CEO of Center for the Future of Arizona. “Voters have already given us a remarkably clear picture of the outcomes they want. They are looking for candidates who will engage those priorities directly, explain credible plans, and give Arizonans confidence that they can turn those plans into progress. That is an opportunity and a responsibility for anyone asking to lead in our state.”

Voters Place a Premium on Hearing Directly From Candidates
Ninety-three percent of Arizona voters say it is important to have opportunities to hear candidates directly answer questions about issues that matter to most voters, including 80% who say it is very important. The expectation is near-unanimous across political affiliations, with 94% of Republicans, 91% of independent and unaffiliated voters, and 94% of Democrats saying those opportunities are important.

The finding points to a clear need in the election conversation. Voters want candidates to directly address the issues that matter to them and explain what they would do. The Arizona Voters’ Agenda helps meet that need by identifying voters’ priorities and the questions they raise for candidates and leaders, keeping what voters want visible through the election and into governing.

The Newspaper That Helped Shape the Course of the Long March

Published

By

LANZHOU, China, Sept. 19, 2026 /PRNewswire/ — During the Gansu leg of the “Together on the Long March” CICG International Communication Project, Liang Xiaoyuan, son of founding lieutenant general Liang Xingchu, visited the historic Long March sites in Hadapu and recalled a remarkable episode involving his father.

In Hadapu, Liang Xingchu was assigned by Mao Zedong to search for “spiritual nourishment”—newspapers and other sources of information. A copy of Ta Kung Pao obtained during the mission contained reports about the situation in northern Shaanxi, providing the Central Red Army with important information as it determined where to advance next.

That newspaper helped turn Hadapu, a small town in northwest China, into a key historical landmark on the road toward the Long March’s eventual destination.
